After visiting the beautiful Maroon Bells, we were all hungry. We all decided to give Willow Creek Bistro a try. The menu posted outside the restaurant featured many interesting options, and there was no wait for a table for the 5 of us. Willow Creek Bistro is located inside the Ritz Carlton in Aspen, Colorado. It was a first time experience for myself eating inside a Ritz Carlton! Customer service was top notch! Most of us chose to eat something different from the menu. My Goddaughter chose the Bistro Pho with skirt steak. She loved it. I chose the Chicken Quesadilla, and I was happy with my choice as well. A great friend ordered the Coconut Curry Ramen with Shrimp. I don't think she was as happy with her order. She had a lot of leftovers and threw it out the next day. Both my wonderful wife and another great friend chose to try the Colorado Bison Burger with Truffle Parmesan Fries. The burger was a hit with both of them! Of course a good meal is never complete without dessert (in my humble opinion). We chose the Brownie Sundae and a slice of Key Lime Pie to share among us. The Brownie Sundae was a winner. Fabulous service, our server was so nice and enjoyable to talk to. The views outside are stunning. If the weather allows I highly recommend sitting outside. It is just breathtaking. We stopped here while waiting for the shuttle up to Maroon Bells. Definitely did not disappoint. Ahi tuna wrap was awesome. My husband devoured it. He said the fish was super moist and flakey. He lived the crunch and flavor of the Caeser salad was amazing! The dressing was creamy, bright, tangy, and salty with a perfect touch of pepper. I'm very picky with my caeser dressing and prefer my own homemade dressing, but this one was the perfect amount of flavors I expect from a good caeser dressing. If I'm ever back in the area I will definitely be coming back to try some other dishes. read more

Nice location with wonderful outdoor seating and fire pits. If you are still cold they also provide warm and fuzzy blankets. Of all the meals I had on this trip I fell in love with the Butter Chicken. I must say it is the best I've ever had. The Noon bread was fresh and warm. This may be the first restaurant where I was seated by the chef. Such a friendly and informative staff made the dining experience even more special. Everything was relaxing and comfortable. Compared to other restaurants in the area the prices are very good and portions are perfect. A very convent location to the base lift to the mountain. We visited after completing an early morning trip to Maroon Bells. The service is extraordinary. Most courteous servers and what great food. We got the egg white omelette and three egg omelette. With the view of Aspen Highlands and soft music, you are guaranteed the best time having your meals. Highly recommend if you visit Aspen. read more

Located n the Ritz Carlton Aspen Highlands, they just started their winter menu. It was absolutely delicious. Starting with the pretzel and bratwurst shareable, which was perfect. The winter salad was excellent as well as the Ahi tuna salad. Lots of tuna! Loved the bison burger with sweet potato fries. Their breakfast is really great as well with lots of options. When we first got into town we had lunch here. The Coconut soup was amazing. Everything was on point perfect. This evening. The chicken was tasty. The French green Beans was un edible. With a location at the Ritz-Carlton it is not surprising there is a focus on service. Our waitress was very nice and did a great job. She was apologetic that the iced tea was not ready; we received the iced tea eventually and there was no charge. Everyone enjoyed the food. Some friends and I ate here since it was conveniently located across the street from our Airbnb. The food was simple and overpriced, which isn't too surprising for Aspen. I ordered a mixed green salad with chicken. The salad itself was fine but the chicken was dry and overcooked. There were also a few hiccups with service, as some of the beers we ordered weren't available, and then when we re-ordered, it took a good 15 minutes for them to be served. Also, stay away from the Ritz lobby next to the restaurant. We were hoping to get a group picture after dinner, but were promptly asked to leave since we weren't guests despite having just eaten at the restaurant. read more

Awesome place. I loved the fire pits outside, it gives nice ambiance. The restaurant is spotless clean. Staff is nice and polite. I really enjoyed my food. Burger was very fresh and delicious. Unprofessional and mean-spirited. Came by here for lunch - bunch of empty table with "reserved" signs. Asked a staff member if we can be seated and were told we can grab a seat at one of the "reserved" tables. A few minutes later, different staff member comes by asking if we are on the waitlist and how could we not see reserved signs. He was very rude and became more so when told that we specifically asked if we could sit there. When we asked why he was yelling at us he said several times (direct quote) "I'm not yelling, this is the Ritz-Carlton. We know how to treat people." Saying you're the Ritz-Carlton does not make your service good. Maybe you should try earning your brand name next time. read more

I would highly recommend making your way down here for lunch. We did not get to see dinner options, but lunch was amazing. The lobster roll with truffle Parmesan fries was big enough for an entire party of 3 people. Not kidding. There was more lobster on my plate than lobster rolls purchased at roadside stands in Maine. Had best lunch during our week stay in this area. I see from earlier reviews that something was seriously dysfunctional in this place, but we had very good food in the most beautiful setting - sitting outside overlooking the green slopes (yes, that's in summer). Roaring Fork flatbread (with smoked trout) - for me that was absolute discovery and a treat, I'd eat it again and again! Caprese with grilled peach was very pleasant blend, enjoyed it as well. Our 6-year old declared that the pasta-meatballs had "best meatballs". Well, what else to say... :) lemon poppyseed gelato - very very good! Bravo to the chef ! We'll definitely be back in winter, hoping that the kitchen is as good as our first time here. read more

If you are going to have a bad dinning experience it will most likely not happen at a Ritz Carlton. The food is pleasing both visually and the wonderful flavors that originate from behind the kitchen doors. Every waiter usually has a great story and the staff is friendly. The service here is horrendous. Unfortunately, I can't comment on how the food is because I have never been waited on. I've been here twice now and have been repeatedly ignored by the wait staff. I have even gone up to them to ask for a menu and to be waited on. They hand me a menu, but have failed to follow up even when they are not busy. I recommend the Taqueria around the corner. I was pleasantly surprised by the turnaround of this restaurant. For dinner, they have a "burgers and sandwiches" section of the menu that is reasonably priced, and the food is tasty. I had the Latin-style grilled chicken sandwich -- huge flavor and great price. The waiter also recommended a red wine that paired perfectly with the sandwich. I went into the restaurant with my two year old daughter to pick up a carry out order. While I was standing at the bar, an employee named Kathleen proceeded to speak to another employee standing right next to me about how she can't wait for all the people (guests) to go the f*** back to where they came from. She then proceeded to drop a few more F bombs in front of my child. I understand having a rough day, but I don't appreciate her comments or the language that she used. Awful service mediocre food. Manager is an absolute jerk. Overheard the table next to us request hot pancakes because they came out cold and the manager just put them in the microwave. For $15 pancakes just re make them fresh. Manager also asked me if i need a blanket to breastfed my baby when he was already under a nursing poncho. Do you sir need a blanket to cover your face while you eat? Server never gave us refills to top of the wonderfully slow 1 and a half hour breakfast for only 4 people. We have a condo here at the elkhorn lodge ritz and wont be spending another penny at willow creek and we come here multiple times a year and have been for many years. read more

I had lunch on the patio at Willow Creek on June 21st as I was passing through Aspen. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and it arrived - with no chicken, and really wasn't very satisfying. The waitress was kind enough to not charge me for it, which I appreciated. However, after dropping off the bill, she returned 3 minutes later for payment, and my friend and I hadn't even looked at the bill yet. We scrambled to pull out our credit cards so that she could run them through. (I was thinking that perhaps her shift was ending so I wanted to let her close out so I wasn't bothered too much by it.) BUT when she returned with the credit card receipts, she thanked us and took away our unfinished drinks without asking if we were done. (Also, there was a couple at the table next to us and eventually the gentleman just went into the restaurant bar to get drinks as he was not getting any service whatsoever.) Overall, the entire experience was really disappointing. read more

Mediocre at best. In their defense it should be noted we came here in the off season. I ordered the fish tacos. These were pretty crappy tacos for $15. The tortillas tasted like those tortillas you buy packaged in the grocery store that are chewy, bland, and full of preservatives. They were cold and untoasted. Even my local taco truck can manage to make fresh tortillas. The cheese also tasted like cheap, bagged, pre-shredded cheese. The salsa and guacamole also seemed to be mass produced and grocery store bought. My girlfriend ordered a margherita flatbread that was also exceptionally mediocre. We expected a lot more from the restaurant in the Ritz Carlton. At least the bathrooms were nice. Maybe they're better in the "on season" but if I were managing this restaurant I would not want to put my name behind the food we were served. At least it didn't make us sick. read more

I'm only giving three stars because the wait was really long. We went for dinner in the off-season of the Summertime. There were barely any people at the restaurant. It took a while for the entire dining process. I ordered the pho, which was really good. Everyone else in my party had food was pretty good. I understand why they have high prices, being next to the ski lift, but for some of the food it just did not seem worth it. Totally edible though. Very convenient location. What a truly disappointing experience at Willow Creek. Sitting on the patio looking at the mountains was highly relaxing, but the service and food left much to be desired, especially considering the price. There were glass shards in my drink and the server seemed a bit unnerved that I asked for it to be remade. My fish tacos had little flavor, the fish was tough and they were served in flour tortillas instead of corn. While the service was slow (even though there weren't many customers), our server got anxious when it was time to pay and rushed us out the door when we were wanting to relax and enjoy the scenery. read more

eek! me thinks not! - Had the most terrible service in my entire dining life. My friend and I came in for a burger after our Maroon Bells Hike. We both ordered bunless burgers, both with different cheeses and regular fries. Our waitress recited our order back and it was correct. The "burger" (singular) came out and was completely wrong. Our waitress combined our orders and it was served with truffle parm fries. The whole thing was wrong. So we politely expressed our order was incorrect. She was confused.. but said there is another one coming out with pepperjack. So we tried to correct the orders again, she walked away and 10min later our burgers come out. my friends burger came out 1/2 way correct, and I was served the original burger, which was now cold & undercooked, and still incorrect (atleast my fries were right, my friend got the cold truffle parm sweet potato fries that were on the original incorrect burger). The waitress didn't come back for another 10 min, when she did, she dropped off our check for 2 burgers, my burger clearly not touched. I told her I can't eat mine, its under cooked and still incorrect. Instead of saying let me fix it, she walks off and brings back a new check saying she took care of 1 burger. I asked for a manager, she came to our table. Didn't seem to concerned with the situation and mix up and I felt as if she was half way listening. She asked me, how I feel this situation can be resolved. I was a little taken back, as that is her job. She finally suggested I order something else and the whole meal was taken care of. I got my lunch to-go. When I got home and ate my quinoa salad, I was a couple bites in when I pulled a grey hair out of my food. This restaurant is attached to the Ritz Carlton. We expected better service than this. We had such a wonderful time in aspen, what a buzz kill ending to our trip. I will not return to Willow Creek Bistro :( read more
