He was always meticulously trying to care for his family, and was always organized and and prepared for everything. He wanted to make sure that things would be seamless when he passed so he would not be any burden to his wife and children. Everything went smoothly at his passing concerning his estate except with the funeral plans he made. Davenport did not inform us about his policy for the funeral until after he was buried. None of his final wishes were honored as a result. Davenport has been very unsympathetic. I have retained an attorney.

Fortunately, we were prepared and Davenport Family Funeral Homes and Crematory were with us every step of the way. Knowing it was but a matter of time, they were contracted and entrusted with the task based on what we learned of them through references, ads, their website and face-to-face meetings. They took care of everything. From family notifications, to ceremonies and final interment, they handled everything with personalized care, consideration and professionalism. No one wants to go through this but when you do, you'd want people like the Davenport family there to help. You may Rest in Peace. - Afterglow - "I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one, I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done."

We were there to look at options for burial. I really appreciate the different options they offer. You can do a 'green' burial, have your cremains/ashes buried or spread around the plot, or have your whole body placed in the grave site, with or without a casket. Many people don't realize that you do not have to use a casket, or even use a funeral home.

Cathy and Carol will 100% guide you properly and patiently. Saying "goodbye" to a loved one who's passed, is one of the hardest things humans have to go thru. Im still healing from the loss of my grandfather. It's been almost a year since l've been here and this is a long overdue review. One of the downfalls of loving someone so much is when they leave us, it's so much more painful and heartbreaking. Grief is love with nowhere to go. Drowning is an art of learning how to survive, be it in water or emotions. Northern Illinois Funeral Services helps you start the healing process. That's extremely invaluable for me. They say you get what you pay for, but here, they go above and beyond what's expected. Grateful for the two earth angels at Northern Illinois Funeral Service
