When you charge top dollar to play the course you would expect the fairways would be manicured and the greens would be smooth but when you acually get to the course and play is extremely bad. If you want to know what it's like to play on a course that charges the same cost and the expectations are met then play Waverly Woods. Maybe the greens keepers ,from Willow Springs, need to take a drive there and see what the course is supposed to look like. read more

Groundskeepers did a fantastic job. Used to play this course a lot. Then played it once two years ago and once last year. The greens were unputtable. Was sure I wasn't coming back. We took a chance today and I'm glad we did. The greens are in fantastic shape. They definitely worked hard. It's not perfect yet. The tee boxes could use some work and many of the bunkers had pebbles in them but they are definitely moving in the right direction. Will definitely return. read more

Not to be the bearer of bad news but folks who've played this course recently all share the same sentiment. It's just not maintained, greens are the worst, no real way to gauge a putt with giant browned cracked spots and weeds growing a couple inches tall. The bunkers also have weeds growing in them, tee boxes need cleaning and needed watering the ground was rock solid.They spent a bunch of money in some active golf management hardware ensuring folks aren't driving on the blue geo boxed areas which is cool but not money well spent. I just can't recommend this course to anyone, 2 stars because some of the holes design wise are cool. Also the holes are super tight any errant shot and you're hitting into other players on other holes, not ideal by any means. Just play somewhere else and enjoy your round. read more

DO NOT GOLF HERE. The course is in terrible shape. If it weren't for the fact that the fairways had been mowed recently the course would have been mistaken for abandoned. The greens were more dirt than grass. The traps were clogged with weeds. And.... It was $46 to play at 4:20 on a Tuesday afternoon. I gave this course two stars because the grass was cut to the right height and the guy who checked me in was super nice. On the plus side this is a great course for beginners. Green fees with cart are very reasonable. Most of the holes are short. However, there is some serious work to be done here. Driving range mats are very worn. Look like they haven't been replaced for several seasons. The mini flags on the practice putting green are wind torn. (In case you're wondering, no chipping.) Many of the signs at the tee boxes (hole number, distances) are either missing from their posts or severely weathered. White tee box markers were missing on one hole. A few holes had only one of the two markers you'd expect to see. The fairways are mostly crabgrass. Some sand traps were overgrown with crabgrass. Most are peppered with small rocks. Greens are a combination of bent grass and crabgrass which makes it difficult to get a good roll when putting. You get what you pay for. I wish there was a 0 star review. $41 to play this joke of a course. You would think the greens haven't seen water in 3 months. Every green has at least 30 feet covered in dead grass with clovers growing in. The bunkers appear to be tropical rain forests. I mean there is not one square foot of real sand in the bunkers. I'm very been going here for the last four years and it has gotten worse and worse every time but somehow still gets more expensive. Like the other reviews, the main issue of this course is maintenance. Greens are some of the worst you will ever see in your lifetime but somehow they still have the budget to renovate the clubhouse and get new golf cart tech. Looks like there are new owners so that is probably the issue. Trust me, when you see these greens you will start to wonder why you would ever pay anything over a dollar to play. I used to play this course a lot...as in 2 or 3 times a week. I went on Monday, 15 July, and played 9 walking for $15. Great exercise. Yes, the course is a little rough, but it is a great hacker's course. Went on Friday, 19 July, and they jacked up the rate to $32. At $32 for 9 holes, this course is no longer worth the trip. Truly a horrendous course. Played 7/30/24. I have never seen such terrible greens in my life. They have not been watered or maintained in any capacity. The tee boxes have not been cleaned in at least a month. It would be well worth your time and money to travel an extra 20 minutes and spend an extra $20 to play somewhere else. read more

Nice course it was a little unkept last year when I moved in to the area but its much better now. Nice staff and fair overall prices. This guy Karl G. that posted a bad review seems like he's a typical D-bag that thinks he'll make it to the Pga one day, complains on every hole and can't shut up about pace of play even when you're on pace. As a member of the local PGA Section, I'm fortunate to play many of the courses in the area. This was by far the best condition I have seen the course in. I can tell the hard work they put into the course over the off-season is paying off. They've changed a few greens, removed bunkers, reshaped a couple of holes, the greens were as good as I've seen them, rough was lush, fairways coming in nicely. read more

Took my son there today to play nine holes since he is just starting out. Very nice layout with lots of par 3's and short par fours. The greens were in good shape but some of the fairways still had a lot of water from poor drainage. I enjoyed the one Par 5 hole which you can easily reach the green in two so if you have never had an eagle this is your best chance. We did not use the driving range but it is very well maintained and not crowded at all. Tip of the day - seniors which they regard after 50 pay the reduced rates. This is a very well maintained public golf course, highly recommend for a round of golf. Comparing this to Sligo Creek public course, Willow Springs is superior. Willow has a large club house with bathrooms and a good stand. The price for 9 holes with a golf cart was $28 for women. The prices are the same as Sligo, similar price range. The fairway is well maintained, clean. Plenty of parking. The course is great for beginners or experienced golfers. You do not need to call for a T time, you can just show up for golf. I look forward to coming back. You can play 9 or 18 holes. There is also a driving range if you want to just drive some balls. read more

Decent golf course for beginners to intermediate level golfers. It's a Par 62 course with a few challenging holes. It's obviously a great venue for your short game. Worth the low price. People are friendly. Maintenance is a little lacking though, at times, possibly due to multiple rains- some of the fairways have become wetlands. Many of the Tee boxes are quite rough. Too many leaves on the course in the fall. They are currently repairing a few holes on the front nine, so they're not dropping the ball. But some of it is on us players. We need to do our part: many of the greens have several deep ball marks. So many divots are not replaced. Range has mats. Good price. Will be going back to work on my game before heading back to the more "upscale" courses. read more

Couple things to know about this place. They must be operating on a shoestring because money seems to be driving everything. You can't take a cart as a single without paying an additional $11 because they are worried about the additional use of gas and wear and tear if only one person is using it. Also they won't let you practice chipping except on the driving range but apparently you have to buy a bucket of balls to do that because the golf pro goes totally rabid dog crazy if you walk out ten feet onto the grass to pick up your own balls even when the range is deserted. read more

This executive golf course is not ready for prime time... I mean you can expect the fairways to be a little rough at this time of year, but there were major Barr areas and some very big bumps. The greens were mine fields with very rough areas. New clubhouse is impressive, but lack of "water station " where you can get water for your round was disappointing. Ball washing stations along the course were all dry. Top dollar should not be charged for a course that is not ready. read more

This is a great course to practice your short game. There are no par 5 and an equal number of par 3 and par 4. There are some tricky holes to keep you on your feet. Watch out for number 10, it is definitely closer than it looks. read more

Not sure why I would give this more than one star but I think unless they throw your food away as one reviewer said, they get two stars for it somewhat resembling a golf course. I have played there a few times a year for awhile but it sadly has reached a point where you are better off spending your money on a bucket of balls than playing here. The tee boxes have grass that is longer than the rough, greens are unplayable on some holes. And I have to agree with others that have commented on the staff, you may find folks that are more polite and friendly at McDonalds (which is to say not very). Plenty of other courses deserve your attention until they get things together or turn the land into something more productive. read more

They've made some recent investments to try and elevate the quality of the facility but I made the decision (tonight) I won't go there or allow my family (5 kids and we all golf). There is an older man (not the owner) who works the counter a few times a week who is incredibly rude - I've even seen him scream at people on the range (amazing). My daughter has mentioned his negative attitude a number of times so we've decided to play elsewhere. BTW - we are very active in the golf community and use the range 3-4 times a week, no more. read more

I'm a fan because for $14 (with senior citizen discount), where else can you walk-on whenever you want, practice your golf game, walk nine holes for some exercise and be done in less than two hours? The hole-designs are decent enough. A few par-4's on each side. The rest are par 3's. What, they're not challenging enough for you? Then let's see you rack-up those birdies and pars. My complaint is the condition of the course: horrible. Greens are in terrible shape. Fairways are dug-up and weedy. In the fall, you can't find your ball because of all the leaves on the ground. Customer service is HORRIBLE! I was told it was OK to leave my tote bag filled with lunch I prepared for a diabetic friend who I was meeting at this course near the snack shop (it was not to be eaten at the course, rather taken home by my friend). Came back and all the food was thrown out. I was shocked that no one even offered an apology. Someone from the pro shop had informed me that it was okay to leave my bag there just to discover a couple hours later that someone had rummaged through it and emptied the food from all the containers. No one took responsibility for this action. The employee at the snack shop told me that he was instructed to throw the food out by his boss, Dana Larocco, the manager (who had already by this point had left for the day). No apologies...no nothing. Furthermore, I was treated in a dismissive manner on top of all that had occurred! I will NEVER return to this course again. The course isn't the best, but isn't the worst, either. Poor, poor customer service! Even had it been a misunderstanding, no one offered their apologies. I'm appalled. I'll never return and will discourage my friends and colleagues from going, as well. read more

This is by far the worst golf course I have ever played. In addition to the greens and sand traps being in terrible shape, the staff are extremely rude. We were on for a 4:56 tee time, on the tee about to tee off and the starter kicked us off to allow another group to go ahead of us. We got a crazy good deal through the golf now app to play here for $10. The course is very short. No par 5s at all. If you want to hone your short game this is a good spot. The 1st 4 holes seemed to be complete marsh land with lots of bugs and a bad smell. After that it cleaned up and the course is pretty nice. Greens were in nice shape. The 18th hole marker is nonexistent and made play a little confusing at 15. Nice little proshop with a good variety of products new and used. read more

Played today in conditions that were hands down the worst I've ever encountered in 24 years of playing. I first started playing at Willow Springs and the rapid deterioration of the course has escalated in the past three years. Several holes were absolutely unplayable because of standing water that did not allow for a drop. One hole, #3, had standing water from tee to green with the need to walk through thick mud to get from the cart path to the green. Grass does not appear to have been cut yet this spring and in several cases, weeds were higher than my tee. Between weeds and large bare spots in the fairways the condition of the course was worse than a muni after a drought in August. Adding insult to injury was an increase in greens fees. Furthermore when I complained about the condition of the course I was told "There's nothing that can be done." I replied that charging people for 18 holes of golf when only 13 or 14 were playable was a rip off. Won't be back and that is very sad. read more

This isn't a course for serious golfers since it's not in the best shape and no par 5s. However, you can't complain too much for how much you pay. For college students (basically if you look in the 20s), it's $31 to play 18 holes with carts! And they have very generous senior discount as well (I think age of 50 is the cutoff). With this in mind, it's a great place for family golf. They have a nice seating area where you can enjoy some nice cold beer after 9 holes or the round and the staffs are always kind. This is a very short and narrow course, don't show up expecting to get a ton of driver practice in. In 18 holes you can hit driver on maybe 6 of them depending on your range. The course itself is very nice and well kept. Greens are great. It can sometimes get crowded because of the length and proximity of the holes. On several holes you are basically hitting next to I-70 traffic. Overall if you want to work on your iron game , this is a great little course and reasonably priced. They have a range next to it and the staff is always nice. I love going here after work for a quick 9. read more

Played there today . For the price to play its great . They call it an executive course . The key to play this course is always hit the Fairways . If you go into the rough your ball is gone and have to take a drop . Lost 13 balls playing . Yeah one went into some water the others were lost in the rough . The rough is deep , very high and way over your ankles in most areas . You hit the rough you ball is history . So you must hit the fairway off the tee . its a great course for short game work . The price is right . But bring extra balls for the slight pulls . I hit a tee shot on one par 3 and pulled it . My partner and i searched and entire area where we thought it landed which was about 5 ft from the cut area around the green, it was gone . That was the frustrating part of the day searching for hits just off the fairway . read more
