I was lucky enough to have a spa day at the Willow Wellness Center from my boss. The studio is spectacular! The lobby is warm and inviting, they even sell the cutest leggings and workout tops, sportbras too! I wanted to buy ALL of it! Miranda the owner was welcoming and friendly, very down to earth and kind. I started the day by sitting in the infrared sauna for 40 minutes, next time I'll for sure the cryotherapy service they offer. I was able adjust the temperature to my liking and it was so relaxing! The next treatment I received was a full body massage. The room was clean, the massage table was set up so inviting and the massage was out of this world! I've been to many places for massage however my therapist was so extremely educated with the musular system she even found knots that I didn't even know I had in my shoulders and back. She was worked the areas that I needed and was able to release knots right on the table! She was seriously spectacular! Her playlist was soft and relaxing, which is an important key to any massage because I just melted into the table. Once I was done spending time with her, I was off to get a facial (yes, they even offer facials at the center!) Melissa was my aesthetician was extremely friendly. Her room is large and inviting and has all the equipment plus more for her to take care of the skin. She asked me what were my concerns, I told her and she mixed up a cocktail of skin treatments right int he room, JUST FOR ME! I also asked her for the microblading, which she did and she spend more time on that that I even received from any other aesthetician, ever! I've been missing out!! Melissa was awesome and the entire hour was utilized on my skin care. I told her that the facial I received was THE best facial I have ever received in my entire life. I will be back..... By a stroke of luck or misfortune, depending on your views of workout intensity, I landed in a lunch time Pilates class with just me and Miranda. I'm new to Pilates and appropriately hesitant around heavy machinery, but Miranda put me at ease...and then through the ringer! We went through every (torture) device in the facility, of which there are ample, and she did a great job of guiding the proper usage and form while ensuring I left each with a puddle of perspiration. It was great! I honestly learned a lot about where I'm lacking in strength and looking forward to building a better mind/muscle connection with further practice. read more

This is my favorite place! I checked it out first by purchasing a month membership then pre-paid for a year pass. Not only is the value there if you're straight up comparing Pilates class costs in the Valley but the 3-4 person size classes are awesome. Not only is Miranda a really great trainer and attentive but the gals who frequent the studio are pretty fun...you're working hard but the class goes by quick because everyone's having a good time. This was my first equipment Pilates class. In terms of a workout, it was good I was guided during the exercises and appreciated Miranda's attentiveness. She asked if I had any injuries which I appreciated but never asked my name or formally introduced herself to me. I feel like that would've made the class a bit more welcoming. Also, the class was booked for an hour but ended up only being about 45 minutes long. We started a bit late and ended early. I wanted to feel like I was able to get a full experience but it felt a bit lacking. Overall, it was a decent experience. I'm glad I was able to book from ClassPass. Ughh... so disappointed! I was so looking forward to classes and learning Pilates. The studio is dirty and equipment is filthy. My feet were black after walking on floor. It is obvious equipment is never wiped down after use and floor is disgusting! There was nothing in studio to clean equipment with after use...ick! The class was over-crowded and Miranda was barking out instructions to us. Miranda was on her cell phone and was often not present in room in which class was being taught. She was distracted and did not pay much attention to students in class. There were beginner and advanced people mixed together in class. Since I am very much a beginner, I tried to follow the others in class because I didn't know how to do most of the exercises. During our class, the owner (Miranda)walked into another room, a student fell off the equipment and was injured pretty badly. One of the students present commented that injuries were fairly common- people have fallen or equipment did not have proper safety equipment attached. She quipped that "Miranda does not pay attention and puts beginners in with advanced students and equipment is not safe". Miranda didn't speak to me or assist me in my practice but instead carried on personal conversations that were inappropriate with her "regular" clients. I felt ignored and discounted. I will not be returning to this studio. I want an instructor that will pay attention to me and make sure I am performing sequences correctly and more importantly, safely due to hip and shoulder injuries. I felt so uncomfortable and un-welcome in this studio. read more

I came to the center only to wait 20 minutes for them to show up and not have record of my appointment claiming it was only "requested" and not a true appointment...after a week of not responding to the "request" . Miranda is an amazing instructor and coordinates each class with each participants experience level. When you walk out each time, you really feel the burn and know you had an intense workout. She offers many different days and times that work with a variety of different client schedules. Her passion for Pilates and wellness shows and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have gone here a couple of times for cryotherapy. I also came here for cryo on my leg when I got into a a bad snowmobile accident. The equipment that Miranda uses is the top of the line. Miranda also is so nice, responsive, and she evens texts me to set up my appointments and she is very passionate about her business and the wellness of others. Visiting from out of town and signed up for a 7:30 am class. I took an uber from my hotel, only to find the place closed and locked. I spoke to Miranda by phone, who told me that if you register for a class within 24 hours and are the only person registered, she doesn't come in to teach it. No warning. $25 in uber down the drain. If the class is not happening, then don't let people register!! For all I know the place might be great, but it ruined my morning. First off, I'll just start by saying I am so incredibly disappointed that my experience led to a review at 1 star. I recently took a beginner Pilates course and fell in love!!! So naturally I went on and found this gem of a groupon!! I was so excited I convinced a dear friend to purchase a month unlimited Groupon as well! You get what you pay for I guess! My first class was alright!! Not many complaints! I was very much looking forward to my second class with Miranda(the owner!) and I was shocked at what transpired! I was the first one there, and she didn't even ask my name, experience, literally nothing more than a head nod hello, it wasn't until another girl taking the class showed up and finally welcomed me. The entire hour class(it was a great workout I will say) miranda did not talk to me. Proceeded to talk to the only other girl in the class who she knew! She barely instructed me on proper form, technique or anything! And I left without a single word more from her! My girlfriend had her first class that day as well! She called me after and explained how unwelcoming and uncomfortable she had felt also! She has had previous health issues and Miranda did not help, or Inquire about it at all! Or offer other positions to alleviate the pain! I thought maybe she was just having an off day! Today My friend and I joined another one of Miranda's classes! Again zero hello, no Warm welcome, nothing! The entire class she talked to the other participant (who had been doing Pilates for 11 years and was very knowledgeable)....about a concert they were going to, and personal life! I was shocked! And we constantly had to ask what to do next and how to do something! She gave zero instruction until I finally asked! She was well aware we were beginner Pilates goers as we mentioned it and signed up for a class that didn't require experience! We also ended class over 10 minutes under the "60 minute class" time that it states! As someone that is a small business owner, you would think she would want to Be as warm and welcoming as possible because she'd want us to spend our money buying her membership!! Nope! I still have 2 classes left and I won't be back! Incredibly disappointed! Especially for someone that was so excited to give Pilates a serious go, and really make it a lifestyle change! I have only been to the Willow Wellness Center twice so far and both classes were fantastic! After 2 years of laying low, and many years since I took a pilates class, I decided to give Willow Wellness a try using a Groupon. Miranda was super-helpful with the class registration process. My first class was with Bonnie, who was very understanding of my 'newbie' situation, very knowledgeable & so very helpful! It was a great work out and re-introduction to pilates! My second class was with Jessica, who was also fabulous! She has a little different style, which I enjoyed and really complimented the class I had with Bonnie a couple days before. Both were great work-outs and I can't wait to go back next week! The studio is beautiful, clean and convenient. I was fairly new to Pilates when I stared coming here a couple months ago. I purchased a 20 class deal online because there are a variety of class types and times to choose from. They have the reformers and chairs, along with the usual Pilates accessories. After doing a number of classes with different instructors, my favorite class was the mat class with Paige. Paige is great and full of energy. She is motivating and makes class fun and allows enough time to stretch at the end... Which didn't always happen with other instructors. =/ I met both of the partners/owners during the months I took classes here, and unfortunately always got the feeling that leading pilates was a burden for them. Too bad. Its in a great location, they have all the necessary equipment, but I don't think this place exudes much of a welcoming feeling to clients. read more

I have been going to Mira fitness for some time and should have written a review much sooner. I go to Miranda and this woman has gotten me into the best shape of my life. Prior to coming here, I was working out 5 days a week, three days of cardio and two days of weight training. I LOVE Pilates now and will not go back to my former routine. I work out less and am getting better results. When I leave the studio I feel so energized and happy. Pilates, period is a great workout, but I have to add, that my trainer, Miranda is also a huge part of my success. She really knows what she's doing, and knows how to push me and keep me motivated while working out without being a drill Sargent. However, if that's the type of motivation you need, I'm sure she'd have no problem getting tough with you lol. The prices are also very reasonable when you compare them to other studios and the studio is beautiful. There is also no attitude in her studio. I visited several studios before choosing this one. I was made to feel in other places that I should be lucky to be in their presence. I know this is Scottsdale, but as a client you should never be subject to the pretentious attitudes that I was running into. Everyone at Mira fitness makes you feel welcome. I would recommend Mira fitness to everyone wanting a great workout, with an experienced trainer. They are extremely affordable and know what they are doing. I just took a class here with Alison for the first time and loved it. I've been wanting to try out Pilates for a long time after hearing such great things about it and now that I have, it's going to be one of my new routines for sure. This place is small and intimate and so much more affordable than other places i've looked into. The workout was tough, but not the kind of tough that you think your going to die or are questioning wether or not your going to get through it. It is empowering and it feels great because you are testing yourself and finding new muscles you don't normally use. If you haven't tried Pilates and are apprehensive about it, i suggest you try this place for sure, i had a wonderful first experience and will keep you posted the more I go. read more

I found Willow Wellness on Class Pass a few weeks ago with my girlfriend! She took Miranda's class alone and raved about how awesome it was and invited me to come to the next class with her the next week. The studio is a small, "cute boutique like" studio. It is very small so it honestly feels so personal and inviting. After the class my entire body was so sore and shaking! It was the best type of feeling after a Pilates class. I love Pilates and attend classes in Seattle but wanted to continue taking a class while I was visiting Scottsdale for the first time. I did my research and there were couple of places  that attracted my attention. The first one was Willow Wellness Center  which was offering not only Pilates, but massage, cryo therapy, InfraRed Sauna and Float therapy. I started with the Pilates and tried pretty much everything. Miranda is the owner and is the most down to earth and kind person on top of being knowledgeable and understanding your personal needs when it comes to your body. It can get really intense at times working out but it really feels good after you've done it. Cryo therapy also helps after a hard class. I have been going to Mira Pilates for 9 months now. I started with a groupon and was instantly HOOKED. Not only do you get an awesome workout but the class size is small so you get the individualized attention. Miranda (the owner), Kea and Garry are all great instructors with their own unique teaching style. I love taking all of their classes. I have to say that I am shocked by these negative reviews. From the very beginning, Miranda has always replied to my emails, calls and texts. I can recall class actually being cancelled twice. Both times, Miranda sent EVERYONE an email to apologize and refunded our class. I have a hard time believing these other reviewers that state Miranda wouldn't refund money or not return calls. I joined Mira Pilates in May. I found Miranda and the Pilates studio through Groupon. I had tried several Pilates studios through Groupon and Miranda's studio really stood out. The small class sizes are not intimidating. Miranda doesn't rush you or make you feel like you are holding up the class. When I first started I could barely do a roll up.... Miranda assisted me without making me feel uncomfortable. Then I learned about her 60 day Pilates Challenge. Another girl in the class lost 35 pounds... So I thought I would try it out. It's the first time any type of weight loss program has ever worked for me. I lost 18 pounds in 3 months. I've never been so happy with a private studio class. I can't say enough good things about Willow Wellness Center. Whether you are seasoned at pilates or a complete beginner, recovering from an injury or just looking to move better, this is the place to go. WWC has an intimate studio with all the equipment you need. It is clean, spacious and all of the equipment is in great shape. They have something for everyone. The classes are kept small which allows for a lot of instructor attention. Some are faster paced while others are a bit slower and level specific. They also offer private sessions, duets or trios. But the best part about WWC is Miranda. She is extremely knowledgeable, welcoming and attentive. It doesn't matter what class you take, I promise the experience will be a good one! My BFF, Marie, introduced me to WWC and I can't thank her enough for continuing to bug me until I finally made the move and signed up for the unlimited monthly classes. I am a Yoga Instructor myself, but needed the more precise, resistance exercises to keep from plateauing. Pilates strengthens the stomach, improves posture, stabilizes and elongates the spine and helps you develop balance and overall strength. Pilates helps provide that long, toned body we all desire. And while Pilates is amazing, I have to attribute the benefits I've experienced to Miranda in particular. I was so excited when a close friend of mine told me about a reformer pilates studio, Willow Wellness, that she was going to check out right across the street from me. I jumped right on the 1 month unlimited classes for only $60! I guess sometimes you get what you pay for. My first class was scheduled with Miranda, the owner. With only space for 4 students in this beginning pilates class, I thought this would be the perfect environment for me to learn pilates. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I was very surprised that upon my first class that she did not inquire about any injuries or limitations. She seemed more focused on personal or professional side stories with other students and employees , instead of focused instruction. I gave my experience an overall 1 star based on my second class which was taught by Lori. She had focused thoughtful attention to all 4 students. This class was rudely interrupted by the owner coming in the middle of class and again beginning side stories with other students, instead of allowing the instructor to stay focused on the class. I gave it one more shot by attending back to back classes yesterday taught by the owner once again. I was obviously a new student in a class of 4 other students. This was acknowledged only by the other students. Being that I have had a bilateral mastectomy with TRAM Flap reconstruction, I do have physical limitations especially in my core. Instead of assisting me or even recognizing a struggle, she seemed annoyed by my request for guidance. This lack attention and focus continued in the 2nd class where there was one other student who has practiced pilates for 11 years, my friend who is also new to pilates and myself. While they chatted about future concerts and travel, my friend and I struggled with the lack of thoughtful instruction. Cleanliness did not seem to be a priority either. The floors were filthy and the equipment was being sprayed down around us instead at the end of the ladt class before the next. Needless to say, I have forfeited the next 3 weeks of unlimited classes that I paid for. read more

Then I remembered how I emailed the studio a few months ago to set up sessions. I received one email from the owner but the conversation ended there - Mira Pilates didn't respond to any of my follow-up questions seeking specific dates and times. Was my first time visiting this place for my cousins Birthday and it was a great experience! I had never tried float therapy before and the experience was better than expected. I felt very welcome as soon as I walked in. I definitely recommend this experience to anyone considering float therapy. I have been trying to find a great Pilates studio in the Scottsdale area for a while now. I have been to a number of big, corporate studios, and they just weren't doing it for me. Sure, they had a cute Instagram-able space, but I left feeling like I got no workout in whatsoever, barely even breaking a sweat. Then I stumbled on Willow Wellness. I was a little hesitant to try it at first, but I am so glad that I did. Miranda is awesome. I told her about my past experiences at some of the big Pilates studios in the area and she told me that if you're not sweating during a Pilates workout, you're not doing it right! I quickly learned what she meant by that after taking her class. It was a tough, body-shaking, challenging full body workout that definitely made me work up a sweat. You really do hit every aspect of your body from your legs to your core all the way up to your arms and your back. My favorite part about the studio though, is the small, boutique feel. The classes are tiny, which means you really get that much needed. personalized attention, rather than being lost in a crowded class. Another plus about Willow Wellness is that it's more than just a Pilates studio. They have cryotherapy, a float spa and even a massage room! I brought a couple of my girlfriends to Miranda's 6am class this morning and we all got our booties kicked. We will all no doubt be coming back for more. read more

Update: I've been going to Mira Pilates for a year. Miranda and Kirsten are amazing! I still attend several classes a week. I've lost (and so far maintained) 15+ pounds as well as gained muscle definition and strength. These workouts are ever changing so I'm never bored. I am STILL sore a few times a week which is amazing to me! Clearly, we are working different parts of our bodies as well as pushing ourselves to reach optimal levels. I have been attending Pilates classes at Mira for 5 months now and love how these workouts have changed my body. Miranda keeps each class diverse so you are never bored and the camaraderie in each class makes working out fun. Miranda is also very knowledgable regarding body mechanics, making sure you are not only safe but that you push yourself to get the best results possible from each workout. I've taken Pilates classes at Willow's Wellness Center for about a year and a half. When I first started attending, I wasn't in the best of shape and a bit nervous that I wouldn't be able to keep up. I had done some mat Pilates previously but never on a reformer. Miranda immediately squashed all of my fears. She's highly knowledgeable, patient, and a phenomenal coach. The class sizes are small so you really receive the extra attention and assistance with form. Aside from the quality instruction the facility itself is very clean and well-maintained. In addition to the Pilates classes, the center provides CryoTherapy, Float Therapy, Massage Therapy and has an infrared Sauna. This last year I've developed considerable strength and lost some pounds and inches, but above all, I found what workout routine works best for me and look forward to my classes every week. I've been going to Mira Pilates for over 6 years off and on - only off when I moved away from the studio and while traveling for business, but when I'm back "on" my body never feels better. Miranda provides a challenging workout (bring a towel - you will sweat!) but it's always safe, controlled and fun, focusing on the unique muscles and balance that only Pilates exercise provides. It's my favorite workout and Miranda knows how to get results... even when I'm sore for days, it's the best kind of sore and I go back for more! I started going to Mira Pilates about 3 months ago, and I have already noticed a huge difference in my strength levels AND the shape of my body, especially my lower abs which I thought were doomed forever after a c-section a few years ago.
