Meeting friends for brunch. A beautiful spring day. We ate out on the patio overlooking the golf course. The setting is really lovely. I went with a western omelette($16) with a side of fruit and toast. My wife went with the California omelette with a side of potatoes and toast ($18). Service was excellent throughout. A real gem for this 55+ community. My uncle, wife and myself eat here every other Saturday and have yet to encounter any issues. The food is always cooked to order, delicious with every thing being fresh along with service being professional as well as polite. The vibe is relaxed with most attending after a round of 18 holes. The Willows restaurant (specifically Manny) handled ALL of our wedding food/venue setup etc. Manny went above and beyond handling everything from our very detailed menu (I wanted an 'around the world' buffet to fit our travel theme, the setup of the venue (even adding extra flowers to make it perfect), and ensuring all of our cupcakes etc. were set up correctly. Manny took time MONTHS before the wedding to go over everything and somehow managed to secure a bottle of liquor for the wedding. The food was delicious. Being the bride I didn't try EVERYTHING we curated for the reception but everything I DID eat was delicious. The also took care of our open bar, and cocktail hour. Beautiful doesn't even begin to describe how perfect Manny and his team made everything. A beautiful location inside and out. We attended our friend's wedding yesterday and I have to say the staff was great! They did such a great job setting everything up outside for the ceremony. The food was great. The table service was terrific. The ambience was fantastic. I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 because when we first arrived, the greeter, Corey, was rude and snobbish. I very nearly gathered the whole group to leave and go somewhere else, but fortunately there was another lady there, whose name I regretfully did not get, who interrupted Corey and told us it would be no problem at all. What a great way to end a morning of golf! The ambiance is very clean, casual and open. Large windows overlook the green. The food was really good as well. Burgers juicy and fries crispy! Our young gentleman server this day was such a treat! He surprised and enticed us with a $35 prime rib special. It comes with a mimosa, homemade Caesar dressing salad AND an ice cream apple pie dessert. Don't know if their special menu changes or was for the New Year Day, but if they have a SPECIAL, gotta order it! The prime rib was perfectly medium, juicy and soft. Not overly spiced. Yesterday I was having a brunch buffet outside for 15 lady friends. At the last minute, I requested it be indoors because of the heat. As diners were leaving, they hurried and set up tables beautifully decorated with tablecloths, flowers and chargers. The food came out and looked wonderful and tasted delicious. Desert Willow is mine and my buddy's home course and we golf there all the time and yet have never been to the Willows Restaurant. We took that plunge the other day and for the most part, were pleasantly surprised. The place is a bit dated feeling and looks more like a diner than a club restaurant but none of that really matters. The customer base was about 90% 70+ years old but again, that doesn't matter because we were there to grub. I got the Fairway sandwich which is thin roast beef with melted Swiss and caramelized onions on sourdough with a side of fries, a dinner side salad, and a Paloma cocktail. I quite enjoyed my sandwich as well as the salad. The presentation of the salad with a gravy boat of ranch and crackers on the side was very nice. The fries were pretty sub-par as was the cocktail. One friend got a pork tenderloin sandwich and a ceasar salad. He said it definitely wasn't a ceasar and the sandwich was more of a fried pork cutlet. My other friend got lentil soup and a half tuna salad sandwich. He though the soup was quite good but the sandwich was just alright. Overall, the consensus was that the food was ok and that was about it. The portions definitely could have been bigger but for the prices of some of the items, it was quite fair. I ended up paying $26 for my three items, which I was shocked at. I would eat here again because of the convenience and the fact that my sandwich was actually pretty good but other than that, I wouldn't stop in if I was not already going to the golf course. read more

Attended an event at the complex (country club in Henderson NV). At intermission, my friend and I went to this venue and sat at the bar to get drinks. We were the ONLY ones there. For 5 minutes! The TWO bartenders (women) BOTH IGNORED us at the other end of the bar. Then the others (attendees) from the event filtered in and went to the opposite end of the bar where they were ALL served first. WTF? Finally our wives came in and went to the other side and placed their drink order FOR US and brought us our Gin and Tonics. At NO TIME did the bartenders even look at us. There was a couple that came in from the same event, and sat down next to us and were ignored too. They finally just left after talking to us about the poor service. I was NEVER ignored like this EVER. Hey what am I, dog feces??????????? I dont know how the restaurant service is as we WERE going to eat here after the event, but after how I was treated PASS.
