Me and my wife Linda come to Black Mountain Grill usually for happy hour as we are in bed early, Friday night we found ourselves in later than normal as we had been gambling at GVR to celebrate my birthday. We tried to enter from the patio but saw that their was a private party of another birthday celebration so we walked around and was seated by a nice young girl with glasses that got us a high top close to the patio and bathrooms. We waited for several minutes as it was busy with a lot going on with everyone watching the final minutes of the hockey game. We continued to wait as we still had not been greeted then a gentleman who was black with dreads walked up to us and asked if we had been helped we replied not yet. He apologized and said he could help us. My wife and I both wanted a bud light draft, we continued to look at them menu and he returned with our drinks and introduced himself as Kyle and said he would help us and apologized again. Kyle recommended the filet as I like a good steak and my wife had the steak salad but with salmon which Kyle recommended her fish to be cooked medium. My wife appreciated him explaining what a medium cook would be like for her salmon. We had some wonderful conversation with Kyle and he made sure to check on us periodically as we enjoyed our time out on this special occasion. As we were winding down dinner and I wanted to smoke I noticed the patio party was wrapping up so I stepped out through the patio gate. We really enjoyed our date night / my birthday celebration at Black Mountain Grill and we really appreciated how Kyle apologized with no ego and checked on the other tables around us to make sure that they were all taken care of too. Congratulations to him for his daughter's graduation from UCLA this Wednesday. We look forward to coming back again and seeing Kyle he was fantastic and very playful with his staff and that's something you do not see a lot of from management these days. read more

A friend of my husband raved about this place so we decided to give it a try. Went to dinner around 7:30 pm on a Saturday and were seated promptly. Although this place has an active bar with poker machines, there was no hint of cigarette smoke when we were there which was a huge plus. My hubs ordered the baby back ribs and I orders the hanger steak with a side salad. He also had the French onion soup. There was no complimentary bread so we also ordered the garlic bread. The food was good, not great but the overall dining experience was nice. Everything as tasty, and I liked the garlic bread which was pretty basic. My hubby said that the ribs are better at Ellis island, but he ate them all. The hanger steak was a bit chewy but it's not filet mignon right? The ambiance of this little place was intimate and had better quality ingredients in the dishes than other bar/ video poker places use. The service was fairly good and the bar did not skimp on the whisky in my whiskey sour. The place is a quiet alternative to the village pubs in the vicinity and offers up some really good dishes that are easy on the wallet, especially on Tuesdays. We definitely will be back to try other items on the menu. read more

For one of those 24 hour neighborhood gambling bar, the food here is so good. I've been coming here for years. Wish we had one in our neck of the woods so we could eat there more often. I've come here many times. It's Easter and I was served a horrible prime rib. The rest of the meal was ok. I asked for medium rare. Look at the picture. I took the picture after I turned it over. This was a rare miss. They took it off of the bill. Looks like it sat under a heat lamp all day. At least dessert is always good. read more

This was my first visit after living in this neighborhood for 8 years! Well, it won't be my last. I invited a group of friends to join me here for dinner, which was a good decision. The menu had a good variety, the service was excellent, the setting was comfortable, and there was a low noise level. Parking was good. I made reservations, and it helped get us seated quickly. I ordered the Crab-stuffed Halibut with rice and broccoli. The Halibut melted in my mouth. All my friends gave a 5-star rating to their meals, too. FIRST TIME IN Was not planning to come here so I was kind of moody--The Steakhouse I had chosen is closed for renovations and I was like, UGH, Now what but realized Black Mt Grill was down the street somewhere, could not figure out where by memory so we drove past it but decided to swing back, its not ON Eastern but off to the side of Walgreens or CVS (Cannot remember) Anyways, it was nice inside, clean, well lit, homey--The hostess was patient with me as I hurt my leg and was slow. The Booths are super roomy and comfortable, the tables move which is great when you are hurting and need to move around a lot. I ordered an Iced Tea w/lemon and a Beyond Burger-No cheese of course. It was well cooked, delicious, flavorful. I also got fries, these fries are the best I have had and I am posting this next part just for me because I read my own reviews to remember what I got/what my experience was just in case it's a while in between visits. GET THE FRIES. CRISPY, LIKE BEER BATTERED DELICIOUSNESS. They also had a buy 1 get 1 free special going on so my brother who ordered a Chicken Pesto sandwich got it for free. The only negative for me is that I asked for a To go cup for my Iced tea as to not waste it and they didn't have that... I have been in some really nice Italian restaurants and even they have to go cups so I found that odd... And my brother left his glasses on the table and the waiter ran out and caught us at the car, that was pretty nice of him to do! We will be back--They have an angel hair Pomodoro on the menu and fish and chips (I am a Pescatarian--so fish, eggs and Plant Based) so that sounds good. Our second visit to Black Mountain Grill in Henderson, Nevada. The first was a personal dinner. The last one was a group from work celebrating the end of a very successful school year. Our group of 12 was seated quickly. The waitress was wonderful and the food was excellent. Just like the previous visit I could find nothing to find fault with. Work friends were happy ,family was happy and I was very very pleased, especially important since I was the one paying the bill. it's a very nice place to eat with friends or family and again, I don't give five stars every day. read more

My wife and I made 2:30 reservations for Christmas day. We have been going to Black Mountain for the last two years and its been one of our favorites places; we have found the food and service to be consistently good. While it was a little busy when we arrived we were seated quickly, by 2:45 we had our drinks and place our order, this was the prompt service that we have received in the past. In about 30 minutes my salad had not arrived and I realized that the room was full of people but no food was coming out of the kitchen. The service staff were walking around but nobody was bringing food to the table. I finally asked by the busboy to get our waitress, when she arrived she appeared nervous, saying that it was busier than expected, and would I like a salad, I reminded her that I order one, so yes. By 3:30 a couple of table in our dining room received their order, but I still had no salad or no communication on when we might expect our order. I felt sorry for the busboy because he had to keep coming to the tables to fill water glasses. By 3:45 my wife and I decided to give them 10 minutes, when we got up to leave the manager suddenly came to the table and apologized for the wait, he said that there were no other open restaurants in the area. That was a lie because I had check out the local restaurants before I made the reservation. He offered to bring me a salad, I shared that I ordered a salad twice and it never arrived, so don't bother. Before I left I told him that he was responsible for not having a plan for this situation, he needed to be honest, and he put his staff in a bad spot and leaving customers frustrated. We left. I have worked as a cook and head cook for over 10 years and know things can go terribly wrong in the kitchen; cooks get injured, cooks not showing up for the shift, equipment breaking down, and running out of prepared foods. I can deal with any good reason for delays in an order, but its the manager's responsibility to communicate with the customer about the problem in a timely manner. We will go back to Black Mountain because every business screws up; but I hope a different manager is there. read more

Went to Black Mountain Grill on a Friday afternoon to attend a Golden Knights watch party with one of my local meetup groups. How have I driven past this place so many times before but have never been inside? This is a very cozy neighborhood bar and grill that's perfect for watching the Golden Knights games and all other sorts of games. We had our own section of the restaurant reserved for our meetup group, which was in the back near the entrance to the patio area. This section here had a perfect view of the TV to watch the game, but one complaint that we had was that our table was directly above the AC and it was freezing. By any means I am not a huge day drinker, but I ordered a Bellini cocktail to start off with, which is a mix of peach schnapps and champagne. Some ladies in my group ordered a chocolate martini, which is literally chocolate milk with alcohol and a drizzle of chocolate syrup inside. As much as I liked my Bellini cocktail, I could only have one because I drove here. I was interested in having a late lunch here but didn't want anything too big, so I ordered a pepperoni pizza for myself. Complimentary bread with butter was also included. There were a few other dishes that made an appearance, but the only one that I can remember now was the French Onion Soup. The pizza was good but it was a bit greasy on the bottom. They have a happy hour, which runs from Monday-Thursday from 2-6pm at the bar and at their lounge area, located on the second floor I believe. I really enjoyed Black Mountain Grill and I would like to come back here next time and join them for happy hour. Also, our Golden Knights won the game! Woot! read more

Food can vary.... Sometimes it's great and other times not so much. Service can improve a bit as I think there's not enough serves. The ambiance reminds me of a casino. It's dark and with loud music. We go there often as it's close to home but it's one of those places where we just go for a quick bite. read more

It's been a while since we have eaten at Black Mountain. Dinner with friends. They honored our reservation on a busy Saturday night (nice!). Miranda, our server, was at our table soon after we sat down. Service was excellent throughout. My wife and I decided to share the full rack of ribs ($32) with a side of sweet potato fries ($2 add on). Ribs were incredibly meaty and fall off the bone tender. Better than we have had at many rib joints. Excellent service, excellent food, fair prices - definitely going to come back soon. read more

My wife and I had a wonderful time , we just got back into town from Washington DC and we just love the decor and atmosphere. Nice touch with the jazz music mixed with some 80s music and country. I had the filet and my wife had the short ribs both were cooked perfectly and we had a fantastic server named Kylie who was kind and attentive. Kyle the manager with braids also ran food and helped his staff. What we enjoyed the most besides the food and atmosphere was how the entire staff all seemed happy and relaxed but professional and on their duties. Loved seeing them laugh and their manger joking around and encouraging them. This will be the first of many visits for us now that we are back in town read more

We came in on 1/23/26 at 9:00am. We were seated promptly and asked what we wanted to drink. The lady came back with our drinks which was a water and an orange juice. The lady said she would give us a few minutes to look over the menu and she never came back. Instead she stood and chit chatted with the bartender the entire time. We sat there for almost 20 minutes. The cook in the kitchen kept looking our way as if he were saying "what are you guys eating ". I really used to like this place but Im tired of paying good money to eat out only to have subpar service...didn't get service at all. We ended up walking out and neither the waitress nor the bartender seemed to care. They just kept on gabbing with each other. These will be the first people to say they work too hard. read more

Wow! Everything was so good!! The service was great!! The atmosphere was so great! Loved the decor. Our party of 8 was sat at the round table in the semi private room. It was perfect! We tried the chicken piccata, chicken Marsala, Korean short ribs, fish and chips, Mac and cheese, cheese pizza, French onion soup, and the jalapeño cheddar mashed potatoes. The dessert was great too! We went to Black Mountain for happy hour because we'd been there before and the service was great and the food is good. Our experience today was like we went to a different restaurant, first they had a different crew service how wet not attentive and we had to wait until they were ready. The biggest issue is we went for Happy hour and like most older patrons we could not finish our whole meal. We asked for a to go box and were told they don't give to-go boxes for happy hour? Reason is that the owner pays 4 buck for to go boxes and they are reserved for the regular menu? Problem we paid for this food and they just want d to throw out our food. If the owner can't find ch aper to go boxes she should not be in the business. We will not be back and I want others to know they will see their food throw out rather than taking it home. My two friends and I found this place online because we were starving. When we walked in, we were greeted by a kind lady named Jazmine. We ate here for the first time on Saturday. The warm inviting atmosphere and friendly hostess was a great start. We were seated near the front entrance. The table was large and comfortable, but the slamming noise the front door made every time someone used it was annoying. It was a distraction. Our server was very attentive and prompt. And I cannot say enough about the service. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Asked if I need a refill on my drink before my glass was empty. It's been more than five years since my last review and possibly that long since my last visit; maybe we've been here once since then. Years ago, this was one of our "go to" restaurants, whether just to drink and gamble, or to eat -- and that included breakfasts, lunches and dinners. I remember that, initially, we loved the restaurant but chefs changed frequently and, along with the new chefs, came new menus, not all of which were hits. Hubby and I came here for lunch today. Madison is a good waitress. Her support person, however, needs more experience. I had ordered hot tea; the support person brought iced tea. When the support person brought out the plates of food, she put my husband's order in front of me and gave my order to him. Not the end of the world; she just needs more experience. A few days ago, I had had Fish 'n' Chips at Buckman's Grill which is just about one mile from BMG. It came with the most bland Coleslaw I've ever had. I mean, no taste whatsoever. So today I asked Madison if the BMG Coleslaw has any flavor. She told me that, although she doesn't eat Coleslaw, several customers have told her that it is very very good. I ordered it. It was in fact very very good. Hubby asked that his French Fries be crispy; they were. He had the Cubano and could only eat half of it. I had the French Dip and only ate half; had the other half for dinner, along with re-heated Fries. They were out of the bread normally used on these sandwiches so they used Brioche which was actually quite good. Hubby and I are both happy that we had a good experience today. BMG is conveniently located. Now that we know that BMG is in a "good food" phase, we will be back. For breakfasts, lunches and dinners. read more

Consistency is the Key to Success in any business! At BMG they need to work on it.... We have been in when things are good, okay and WTF. Tonight the service was not bad just slow. They have the servers stretched out in a couple far away rooms so it takes a while to get noticed. The bartenders seem to focus more on Gamers than tables cocktails as they took forever. Tell me in what screwed up Galaxy they train bartenders to garnish a Whiskey and Diet with limes???Epic Fail! There seems to be some cost cutting issues going on here as well we had old limp bruised pickles, and the Ranch Dressing was super watered down, oh and they charged an extra 1$ for a side The wings were excellent however! The Smoked Ricotta was the Highlight of the Roasted-Not Roasted beet salad. It's not really a salad because it doesn't have any greens or dressing???? Just Cheese, Beers and Walnuts. read more

Fast and friendly service with a smile. Visiting Vegas for a work trip and got to connect with one of my childhood besties. Asked her to pick a local spot she's been excited to try. Appetizer was fun and playful (shrimp cargot), salad was fresh and creative (ahi and watermelon), main event was BBQ pizza on a cauliflower crust. I'm always looking for handmade crusts (not boxed frozen options), this crust did not disappoint. Restaurant was clean, booth was perfect for quiet conversation. Creme Brûlée? Yes please. I've been coming to this bar/restaurant for a year or so and usually love it. The food is great, the vibe is fun, and most of the staff, especially the bartenders, are awesome. But last night's experience with the bartender on duty (I believe her name was Deirdra or something close) was disappointing enough that I felt compelled to leave feedback. My mom and I came in around 10:30 PM. I have food allergies and asked a simple question about the mashed potatoes ( which I've never had from them). She immediately dismissed me with, "I don't have time for that. Just look at the menu." I was polite and calm, just trying to avoid getting sick, and it wasn't busy, so there was no reason for that kind of response. She continued being short and unprofessional the rest of the night, mocking other staff and guests, ignoring us for long stretches, and letting our food sit in the window for over 15 minutes. When it finally came out, it was cold. When I pointed it out, she said nothing, just grabbed the plate from me mid-sentence and walked away. After her shift ended, there were even unnecessary comments made to the next bartender about our visit, which felt unfair given how often we come in and how much we usually spend. Once she left, the atmosphere improved. The next bartender was friendly, helpful, and even acknowledged she had been rude for no reason. I still like this place and want to keep supporting it, but that kind of treatment made the whole experience feel off. read more

Very disappointed in the service sat at the bar asked for the world baseball classic game to be put on and was told no. Bartender stated they're very sensitive about the TVs. I looked around and said you have tennis on and they stated well. The knights are coming on. I asked for a manager was told we can turn the baseball game on for eight minutes. We came here with a group from the office so we all arrived at different times. We had a table of 12. We had to ask for an additional table to be added on because the chairs were all smushed together. We were at a high top table. No consideration was given to the fact that we have to pull the chair out and climb up onto the chairs. The table was extremely inconvenient. Not to mention the chairs are terrible. They were so uncomfortable. The rungs were really far down so if you're short...good luck. They seem very high. I have a counter height, dining room table, so it's not like I'm not used to sitting in a high top chairs nearly every day. These were also very narrow and just were extremely uncomfortable and will be probably the sole reason I won't come back here. It was a Friday and did not look busy during lunch it's tucked into a corner of the plaza. I understand that it can be difficult to have a large party all trickling in sporadically. Our server was very friendly but seemed a bit unorganized. She went around the table got most of the drink orders then went to get waters and didn't finish the drink orders. Our food took a very long time, we had to ask how much longer. I realize that's not her fault. Once everyone got their food everyone seemed to like it. The server did brag about how great the French onion soup is and that people drive to there from Summerlin to get it. So if you like French onion soup this might be your place. I got the salmon, it was very good. I substituted the broccoli for mashed potatoes which were also very good not lumpy didn't even need butter. The sticky rice was bland and tasteless. Overall, I enjoyed the food but it was a difficult to enjoy in such an uncomfortable chair. I mean I get you don't want to have the most comfortable chairs you don't want people sitting there all day, but I know I'm not the only one who was unhappy with how uncomfortable the seats were, pretty much everyone in our party commented on them as we were walking out. (Some comments: My legs are on fire from those chairs. Did anyone sit in those chairs before they bought them? Probably the worst chairs I have ever sat it. I almost stood to eat my lunch.) Super disappointed with dinner in the dining area tonight. It's amazing that a restaurant can have such good food but such unengaged / pretty horrible service. We bring a large group for brunch regularly and have had several dinners. Once seated with a reservation tonite, party of 4, we watched our busser literally become bored with us wondering when a waiter was going to come. 20 minutes later (seriously) our waiter approached the table with, ..."can I get a beverage and then quickly to place out entrees?". We referenced the wai - no audible response. I'm sorry, Red Robin wait staff greet tables, offer a hello! Welcome their guests. Tristan our waiter had ZERO interest in greeting, offering, suggesting or having any eye contact or any real interest in even being there from what I can tell. After beverage We "asked" if we could order apps first. Then entrees. Makes sense. Tristan never checked back after our entrees were served. Never asked about our apps, never offered more bevs. Didn't deliver the food (that was done by someone who darted in and out). Zero recognition by the waiter. Yiu shoukd just put order-kiosks at the door and let ppl take numbers to their table. Your not expensive but your charging too much for that kind of service. Somehow, I feel it's a level of service most definitely accepted by mgmt because no mgmt was to be found. Inspect what you expect? Not at Black Mountain. Super disappointed. Especially since the food is good. We'll do the bar (maybe) but never back to your dining room. We'll take our regular brunch group elsewhere as well. I have been a regular customer at this restaurant for years and have frequently brought friends here. During our recent visit, a friend arrived after we were already seated and eating. We pulled up a chair and asked her to join us. The manager, Kyle, abruptly told us that she could not join us because the table could not accommodate 5 people. This was ok but instead of graciously helping us move our plates of food and drinks and coats and purses to the other table, Kyle pointed to the table and walked away annoyed with us. We are ages 60-80 and his behavior was embarrassing and made us feel like we did something wrong. When my husband asked to speak to his supervisor, he said he didn't have one and then shook his finger and said we were being aggressive toward him. We left stunned and bewildered. Kyle is very unprofessional and needs customer service training. The owner needs to know how he is representing this fine establishment. read more
