Apps came out fast, fairly busy on a Monday at 5:30, food was slower. The poutine was mid (5/10), the pizza egg rolls were great (9/10)! The burgers and tacos were decent (8/10 overall). We came on a Sunday during a Vikings game. Atmosphere was great during game. Once the game was over, the energy inside died off immediately as they turned off the football commentary and turned on slow country music, creating a strange energy. We started with the nachos with chicken. We added a large side of queso for $3. Nachos were delicious, definetly needed the extra queso though as they would have been quite dry without. We also had the classic club, chicken tenders entree and the whiskey burger. Whiskey burger was good as were the chicken tenders. Got fries with both, they were hard/overcooked. Classic club was not good. The ham had a strange flavor/texture. Sandwhich was warm as well which threw off the taste. The tator tots were good though.  Service was good. A great local spot to grab a beer and a burger! The service is great, food is affordable, and they had 2-4-1's when I was there. The restaurant is nice and has a relaxed vibe. We waited 15min on a Saturday. I'm not much of a burger person, but I was in a burger mood last night and the jalapeño cream cheese burger was delicious! We also liked the chicken bacon ranch melt. We both upgraded to the seasoned sour cream which was the consistency of ranch so not really worth it. Overall a nice spot. read more

Visited my family over the weekend. Willy McCoy's is one of the restaurants they love to frequent. They have terrific specials and great wait staff. Because I am gluten sensitive, I usually order a burger without the bun but I wanted something different so I ordered pizza. I was very surprised that the gluten free flatbread pizza was REALLY tasty! Yes, there's an upcharge as there usually are for special items but that was minimal compared to the excellent pizza I was served. If I lived in the area I would eat there every week!! read more

I've gotten the calirfornia burger three times on different occasions it's always bomb. The ceased is not that good I wouldn't recommend getting it. There's a McDonald's, across the street, eat there. Come here for the 2 for 1. There's a saying from the Restaurant: Impossible where he talks about keeping a simple menu because you can perfect it. Willy McCoys did not listen. Anyway let's start with the good. Easy to find, great parking, large booths, lots of TVs, rustic looking, and 2 for 1s. The staff were pretty good too. The bad. Everything else. We stopped here after a 12 hour car ride, on our anniversary, at 7pm. Stopped specifically for their poutine. The server, to her credit, came back and asked us if we still wanted their poutine when they were out of gravy and cheese curds. For those of you unfamiliar with poutine that would have left us with meat and fries and no sauce. There was also no discount offered, just full price for the meat and fries. The problem compounded when my wife attempted to get two different kinds of seltzer which they were out of both. She determined then it was best to order a pop. We both ended up with burgers and somehow, despite their being bacon on both our burgers, we couldn't even taste the bacon. It was like just this textured bun that we were eating. Worst part I believe is that we were famished after our car ride. I couldn't even taste the French fries either. I was so confused about the lack of taste that I went home and took a Covid test. Really too, looking back at it, the staff weren't that great either. It was a Sunday, the place was dead, and yet somehow we were sat right next to some loud people screaming about the basketball game that was on. The food is so bad I will not eat here again. The first time I had fish and chips the fish was mediocre and the fries mushy. The second time it was the same, and the fries were part frozen/ hard and part cooked. I threw it away. I also ordered a club sandwich to go and it was disgusting. The turkey was hard and dry and tasted off, the bread was not toasted, the lettuce was yellow. I brought it to someone who is not picky thinking maybe they will like it. You can get an idea of of how your experience will be at most restaurants based on the initial first five minutes. The host sat us at a dirty table. The waitress seemed a little put out when WE asked for a rag to wipe it down ourselves. The women's bathroom door was stuck open and it needed attention in a few areas (to put it nicely). I really feel it's a manager's job to occasionally go in there and make sure it's stocked with toilet paper, paper towel towels, soap, whatever and that there isn't stuff laying all over the place. Or at the very least...have the host or servers check on it. It's such a small thing that when this is ignored, they can't care much about anything else. We left before ordering as there were too many red flags to ignore right away. Also...I personally don't find the rustic look "charming". The atmosphere came across as dark and dank. There were also a lot of families with kids and ppl watching the TVs that i did not find it a relaxing place to dine. Glad we left, it was the second attempt here and we won't be making a third. For what it's worth, we did try the Ramsey location and that was a much better experience. read more

I stopped in today (Sunday) with my significant other, and it was only the second time at any Willy McCoy's. The ambiance was good with a rustic vibe. However, the server seemed less than enthused to be there and just appeared to go "through the motions" of very basic service at best. We have had more enthusiastic service at McDonald's for comparison. We ordered a Southwest Chicken Wrap and a Black and Bleu Steak salad. The Black and Bleu steak salad had excessive Cajun seasoning adorning the rim of the plate and spread all over the salad itself - rendering it very salty and frankly, inedible. The Southwest Chicken Wrap was very bland and the chicken seemed previously prepared (and I don't mean today or the day before) and was very dry. I still ate it because I was hungry. The fries that came with it were also very bland and over seasoned. After I paid the bill, I looked at the menu again to see where it said Cajun seasoning was mentioned - it wasn't listed. I then asked to speak to the manager. The male host went to get her from the kitchen and came back from the "back of the house" and said the manager wanted to know what this was about and if it was important. Never have I been asked that at a restaurant, or anywhere before! She then came out but brought food out to a table and then came to talk to us. The female manager "SAM" was told about our experience and did not seem overly concerned. I showed her a picture of the extremely over-seasoned salad and told her about the very underwhelming chicken wrap I ate. Dumbfounded, I then asked her why she told the server to come out and ask us what this was about and she said, "well I thought it might be about a donation." This is an unlikely reason and poor discretion by the manager "Sam" with this answer. Nothing was offered (we were not complaining to look for a handout), nor was the desire for us to return mentioned. As a result, we will not step foot into another Willy McCoy's again. There are better options where our money can be spent! Dinners beware. read more

Horrible service from the outside bar to inside the restaurant. Waiter ignored us for over 30 mins and served all other tables around us. No apology no explanation. Instead of checking in with us he avoided eye contact and blatantly ignored us. We also happened to be the only black patrons in the restaurant ‍ so there's that. Food is sub par and drinks are watered down. 2 for 1s = 2 cups of juice for 1 price. When I arrived the outside bartender was bragging about how she has sold feet pictures because so many men are attracted to her feet... I've been off and on for the past six years and they have really upped the food and atmosphere recently. My Mom and I are there tonight and I got the pork chop special and it was fantastic. Came here after mountain biking at Elm Creek based on the recommendation of a fellow biker. We were skeptical, based on the building, vehicles and, well, clientele... enough of my bias. The menu is incredible all-American awesome cuisine. So many yummy options. I could go here over and over again and feast. I had just biked two hours and was starving. I earned the PB&J burger. My burger came photographic perfect pink. Emphasis on PERFECT. It is so hard to get it done right. Not this place. Spectacular. The burger was covered by bacon cooked perfectly, thick jalapeños, and an amazing peanut butter. An enthusiastic five stars! If you read my other reviews, I am not kind about burgers. This was perfect. I got standard fries. Also fantastic. Perfect salt and crunch. Seasoned sour cream a reasonable $1 addition. They also had two for one beers. I ordered one War Pigs IPA and got two. Lol. Deck is large and tables spread out. Staff has masks, no gloves. Most patrons wore the requisite mask coming in and exiting. Worth a 25% Covid 19 tip. Waitress was awesome. I have to bump Willy McCoy's up to 4 stars! Four of us stopped in for lunch today. This was my wife's first time at McCoy's. I hadn't stopped since they first opened this location, nearly 3 years ago. But our friends are regular customers. The food was very good. The drinks were all on-point. And the service was awesome. All 4 of us were being a pretty big pain in the ass. We had special requests, we hung out too long, we outlasted our first server, and we closed out tabs 3 times. We decided to check out their 1/2 priced burger special on Monday night. It's a great deal, and applies to all of their burgers. I like how the burger comes with tots or fries without an upcharge. I also liked that they had full menu until they closed. Most places have a select menu or just don't serve food after a certain time. I ordered the bbq bacon burger with tots and added on the dip for $1. I'd probably go without the dip next time. This location was really nice, they have a gigantic bar right in the middle and booths surrounding it. The bathrooms were nice and clean as well. They also have pull tabs for all you cardboard crack addicts out there. Now for what I didn't like: their 2 4 1 special on drinks they have all the time. I didn't know that this was their claim to fame and we usually only have 1 drink each with dinner so imagine our surprise when 2 stolis and 2 corona lights appear in front of us! Also, the stoli was $6.50 and when you do the math it is a good deal as it ends up being $3.25 for stoli which is a great deal but let's not forget at the end of the day I would've rather just paid $4 for 1 drink as opposed to $6 for 2. And they give you both drinks right away so if you're at all a slow drinker, your beer WILL be warm. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and will add willy's to my Monday rotation. read more

Willy McCoy's is the local joint that my parents and I always go to when we are hungry. I think one of the reasons I like it so much is because they share the building with the VFW? Or maybe it's because I love the 2-for-1's all day everyday? Or maybe it's because I love the country saloon style interior and the HUGE bar in the middle of the restaurant. I've tried tons of things off of the menu, and everything I've had has been good: +Cheese Curds: These are great - my favorite part is the chipotle ranch that they are served with +Chicken Bacon Wrap: Very tasty! I liked the breaded fried chicken. +Cuban: I really liked the mustard aioli that the Cuban is served with. I would have liked to have more of a Angry Orchard taste to the pulled pork. +Bruschetta Chicken Flat Bread: Really good. The balsamic really adds to the flavor of the pizza. It is very thin, I would recommend getting a side if you plan on sharing it. We've always had good service and a good experience. Just a heads up, if the parking lot looks full, the restaurant may not be. There are a few banquet rooms in the building so it is sometimes deceiving. read more

I come here for a Zumba event once a month that's hosted by my Zumba teachers at my gym called "Zumba in the Club". It's awesome Zumba fun for 2 hours on a Friday night once a month...a great workout and so much fun. AWESOME space! Zumba takes place in a connected separate location...but since it is connected afterwards some of us stop by at the bar and restaurant for snacks, drinks, or dinner and put back some calories in from what was lost, lol! I've eaten here a few times and it's always a solid stop full of Buy one, get one beers and yummy food. They also have great deals, especially half off burgers on Monday (it helps make Mondays that much more positive). Waitresses are attentive with everything being served in a timely matter, whether it's food/drink/meals/apps. They have a good idea of the menu and offer solid opinions on meals and their advice is always right! The restaurant keeps tables clean and ready for guests. They bus the tables quickly and prep them in no time, I was impressed with the turn around time. Has the classic sports bar vibe for environment with a billion TV's and a HUGE alcohol selection. Their good is solid, not my favorite but good for a sports bars. I've ordered a little of everything over my past few visits but this time I tried the Chicken and Spinach artichoke sandwich. Chicken was well good and good quality along with a solid chunk of chicken! Glad with my pick, but not sure I'd get it again because their menu has some many great options. Their sandwich options are wide and have a good variety so that everyone can find at least one that sounds drool worthy. My boyfriend loves to come on Mondays and gets burgers. His personal favorite is the Jalapeno beer cheese burger. But he decided to try the jalapeno popper lucy this last time. He wasn't too impressed.
