I have been coming to Beefs since I was a kid. Before Brad became the new owner, when I was a kid, the bar was a lot smaller; the best way to describe it was a small-town local bar. They did not have the extensions as they do now. That used to be the patio. The extension where the wall used to be had a big mounted TV and a poster of the MN Wild. The party room had maybe 5-6 trophies in there and a couple of jerseys. I am so happy to see this local bar get a complete makeover. I love seeing all the pictures of athletes that have come through Andover. This bar is a good representation of what a community means. The food and service are always great when I come here. All the people give off great energy and will always want to spark up a conversation with you. If you visit the place once and come for a second time, they will more than likely recognize who you are. Overall, if you are in Andover for any reason, stop in to Beefs for some good food and great service, and of course, a fun time for the kids! read more

Finally stopped in here for lunch - and glad we did. We enjoyed some lunch specials at a decent price as well as some beers. Enjoyed the local sports bar feel of the place. Only hiccup was service was a little slow due to understaffing, but there were doing the best they could with a smile on their face - also a big party had come in for lunch so resources were diverted for a while. Friday lunch date with sis. We both got raspberry lemonades with a side water. Anytime we see fried pickles, it is a must order. And these were GOOD. Great sour dill bite to them. And the ranch was tangy! She got the OBrady burger with fries. I got the Amarillo Firecracker burger but didn't care for the fried jalapeños. The pickles stole the show. Clearly not a very diverse area but figured I'd try it due to the recommendations from co workers. Walked in on a Saturday and it was busy, sat down at a table considering it said sit yourself. After about ten minutes and multiple employees staring and debating who to help me one finally did. Unfortunately the one that did was so unbearably stinky that at this point just had to get up and leave to a more inviting environment. Was very much considering ordering something even after the wait but the overall stench of the employee really just had me really debating my decisions and wasting my time of being there. Good food, good service, 2 for 1 beer - 4 stars. Beef O' Brady's is a national chain. There are several franchises in Minnesota but most of them are in the southeastern US. Contrary to the name, this isn't an Irish pub - they serve regular American style bar food. I have to admit I had a negative bias based on my visit to the St. Francis location last summer. (I had a negative experience in St. Francis with a restaurant full of drunk, loud, obnoxious boneheads that were obviously regulars and friends of the staff.) Fortunately, this was NOT the case in Andover. All of these places have the exact same menu. I had a Surly Furious (2 for 1), fried pickles, an Amarillo Firecracker Burger, onion rings, and last but not least, chocolate lava cake for dessert. All of the food was good. Everything came out quickly with perfect timing, despite being busy as hell. They seem to be very well organized. This is an above average bar & grill, definitely not a 5 star destination spot. Ok, I didn't plan to go back but circumstances lead me there a few times over the last couple months. Happily, these experiences were much better both food and service wise. No one greeted us. We sat ourselves, never been in before. Server was nice and the food runner as well. I got the traditional basket. Neither the fries or wings were very good. The jerk sauce had great flavor but just overall didn't care for the meal, ate 3 wings and no fries. The wings didn't really seem cooked. Stopped in for lunch with a buddy and this was the first time eating here. Our waitress Amy was great and made a recommendation of the chicken bowl! It was excellent and portion was huge. Decent size bar and restaurant. First time here, I was confused what door to go in as there are two. Went to the door to the right and I assumed it was seat yourself as no one greeted us. We sat at a table waited a few minutes so I went and grabbed menus. By the time the server came to us we had our beverage and food order ready. It was burger night which means $8.99 burger and fries. Burgers come with lettuce tomato pickle onion and mayo. Both of our burgers came out with wrong toppings and mine came out with cold regular fries vs curly fries. I ate a fry and waitress wanted to take back my entire meal to get the correct fries, I asked if I could at least keep my burger, she comes back says oops I grabbed wrong burger and brings me the new one and takes the old one. I made sure she knew I touched the old one and was picking off the mayo but she still wanted it back. Once I finally got to eating my food the Taste was good, bun was fresh and fresh veggies on burger. Fries not so great and both sets were on the cold side and not very many of them. She did bring us an empty ketchup so we had fun trying to get the last drops out. I tracked her down so I could get a box and pay for our good. Took my daughter to beefs today. I've always liked beefs. Today was less than great. The server was not very attentive, had to ask for sweetener for my tea twice. Then when the food came my meal came, then took an additional 10 minutes for my daughters to come. My daughter had a cheeseburger and fries. It was good. I had fish. It was cold on the inside. In fairness the server was alone and there were about 10 or 11 tables to watch, one of them had a large party of 8 or 10. So she was busy I would love to find a reason to give them 3 stars but the food was not up to normal standards. At this point I'm not sure I'll be going back. read more

Put this place back on your radar. We were skeptical after looking at some of the reviews but we live nearby so decided to give them a try. We went in for lunch and arrived before noon. We were greeted with a friendly hello and seated ourselves at a booth. Lots of good choices on the menu. Brittany was very attentive to our needs and made sure we had everything. My wife hade the Sante Fe chicken salad and said it was very tasty. Brad the new owner introduced himself and made sure everything met our expectations. The poor reviews were from before he took over so like I mentioned put Beef O Brady's back on your radar. read more

I love this place! A couple of days ago though it appeared that some parents thought this bar would be their children's playground! Around and around they went through the bar. In and out every second of the outside doors. An upset gentleman seated by the door finally had enough and stood up and said something. The father of 3 out of the 8 children had the audacity to scold the gentleman for telling his children to stop. I thought I was going to get to see some bar fighting!! The kids stopped after this, but the staff did nothing to stop this behavior. I will be waiting for the hockey season to be over before I return. Food and service was exceptionally poor. We did have a party of 12 people which we totally understand can make things a little more difficult for a server but wow was it bad. Yuck..... And that's about all I can say. The menu is too pricey for the food they drop off in front if you. I've been here a few times because I keep getting told by friends that it must have been an off day for the cooks. Well, either they are having an off day every time I show up, or I have better taste in food than my friends, I can assure you it's the latter. I ordered my last meal there when I asked for a fish and chips platter and was presented with what I can only describe as (2) Gordons fish sticks, over salted fries and a small cup of what I can only assume was an attempt at coleslaw.
