Went there due to a flat. Luckily no line I was immediately met by the owner. He explained the process of how he was going to fix the flat. It was a very hot day and he even offered me some water or soda. He patched the flat which is the proper way of fixing it. I was very happy with the work and also the friendly service. Just got my flat tire fixed and I'm so happy to have found Willy's tire shop. The wait was about 20 minutes but the actual fix was much less. The mechanic was super helpful and explained the issue. Total cost for me was $20 They take cards and cash. read more

Willy is awesome! I woke up one morning and found my tire was was flat because I had run over a nail. I found Willy's on Yelp and checked him out. Wow! He made me smile. Such a nice guy. $15 (plus $5 tip) and twenty minutes later and I was back on the road. Not only did he do a great job at a great price, but he seems like a genuinely nice guy who loves his job and loves life. I've been going to Willy's for ~10 years. Showed up to Willy's on a Monday. I told him that I had a leak even after taking it to another shop (unfortunately) a month ago. He advice me to put on two new tires in the front since my two back tires were still in good condition. He no longer sells new tires so he advised me order them online on Tire Rack. After a long Chicago winter my car tire emerged from the ice as flat as a pancake. With no spare tire, I made a few calls to Willy's (all unanswered) and decided to go ahead and just get towed there to see what happens. When we arrived Willy was upbeat (on a freezing day) and very quick. He immediately had the car dropped off and pulled up in the alley where he does his work. We sat in the car while he quickly took off the tire, determined what was wrong, patched it up and put it back on. For the personal touch he called me papi throughout and his dad(?) tried to talk to me in Spanish. He charged me $15 and I was on my way in no time. TL:DR Willy changed my tire in 10 minutes for $15. 10/10 would change tire again. ps. If you don't think the tow truck will fit in the alley, it will. no effs given. I was back at Willy's again today, after someone slashed two of my tires. My tires are an odd size, so I was worried that I was going to be stuck on a donut for a while until I could get a new tire (I already had one, so I just needed one). Stopped by yesterday to repair a flat tire. It took about 40-45 minutes, only because Willy had several other cars waiting when we showed up, so we took some time to stroll to the Churro Factory around the corner, grab a snack, and come back. First, they're not actually open on Sundays, at least not last week when I originally tried to swing by, but they're close enough to home to try again. Also, they're not gonna answer the phone, just go. That being said, Willy was very friendly, apologizing for the wait, saying we all arrived at once after work/the Blackhawks Parade. Since there were several cars already, we weren't able to park in the back alley where he apparently normally works, but got a spot out front on the street and just brought the tire inside the shop to be fixed, and home with us to put back on elsewhere. We were only charged $15 for the repair, and my fiance chatted in Spanish with Willy's father who also works there while I paid, making sure my Latino fiance eats enough arroz con gandules despite marrying an Italian. He also helped us load the repaired tire into our car, and commented that it was a brand new tire, which we told him we had just bought about six months ago. His response? "Yea, but nails don't care." He's a trip! Cheap, relatively quick, and nice guys. Would support this local business again, but here's hoping I don't have to anytime soon! read more

I got a flat the night before and was forced to leave my car at a gas station overnight. A friend told me about Willy and that his tire shop was close by, I called and spoke with the man himself, I explained my car was close by and that my car needed another tire and possibly a rim, He told me he would swing by and take a look. I left work to check out my car and saw that the car was fixed and ready to go! There was no damage to the rim and he did that without charging me first!..... who does that nowadays?! I went by to pay for services rendered and thank him personally but was not in but made sure he was told how greatful and thankful I was. All the reviews are right - this is the best tire place in the city. The owner is so nice and professional. It is COVID safe. Everyone wore masks and I didn't even have to get out of my car while they repaired my tire for only $15. They do not take advantage of women. When you go here not only are you supporting a local small business but getting the best price for great service.. what more can you ask for. Took my car to Willy's once I noticed a bubble in one of my tires (after hitting a big stupid pothole). I was greeted in a kind and friendly approach.
