Sorry Willy's Transmission, but after my last experience with your service I have to write a failing grade. I was asked to bring my vehicle in when the engine light on for a transmission problem. I did so and they found the fault in the transmission. They said they would call me after they did some research. Never called. I called them back and was told me they were talking to other shops to determine the problem/repairs. Never called back. I called them a week later and they said they lost the error code/paperwork and to bring the vehicle back in. Well, I told them now the vehicle was running rough and I would have to tow it in. They said they would have to talk to the transmission specialist and would call me back. Well, three weeks later of not being able to use the vehicle, I gave up with the run-a-round and went to another transmission shop. Not the way a reputable shop should be doing business. I hope this helps them to improve. read more

I called Willy's because my cars transmission was in desperate need of repair since it was slipping. It was failing in 2nd gear when I took my car in. I got it back 9 days later it was not smooth at all!! The cars idle was not smooth and cruising downhill feels like the car is going to slip at any moment. After making an appointment to get the work rechecked the shop called me back after 10 minutes to tell me the car is ready to be picked up and the car is all done. When I asked the gentleman for a printed report of the inspection or what was done in the short period of time he informed me that there was nothing to report back to me. Complete rip off for nearly $5,000 dollars. I will be taking my business elsewhere and most likely have to spend another couple thousand to get my transmission running smooth. The fact that my car was completely dismissed at the inspection indicated to me the quality of service this business does. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! read more

Brought my car in for an upgrade clutch kit. they called me and told me the clutch thats in the car is working fine, which its was. I explained that it was an upgrade. I got the car back in 8 days, which they told me 2 to 5 days. When I got the car back and drove it home, it shifted ok. when I tried to put it in reverse, I couldnt get it in gear. I had to shut the car off to put it in reverse, same to take it out. I was told they readjusted the clutch, mean while, I have to shut the car off to get it in reverse. Ive already made an appointment to diagnose the issue somewhere else. My clutch and transmission was working fine when I brought it in, now it doesnt. 1500.00 is what it cost, and I am very unsatisfied. And they made it clear that they adjusted the clutch and they dont know what else to do. So now I have to pay again to fix their mistake read more

Service by Walden was excellent! We thought our transmission was going out, but he tested it by driving on the Likelike, was very thorough, and said that it is still in good shape. What a relief - and so happy they are honest! He didn't charge us for the diagnostic so we left a tip for him in the main office. I would give them 5 stars except the wahine working in the main office was so unfriendly and even seemed irritated that I was leaving him a tip!? I own a 2014 Nissan Rogue. I was hearing a humming sound when reaching highway speeds. All the research on social media suggested I had a bad CVT transmission. Changing this type of transmission could drain you $7-9K. Dropped my car off, left it for the day, dreading for the news of the diagnosis. Lady calls me up and says, not your CVT. We found something else. It'll be $1k. I was so relieved. They could have just told me you have to change your CVT but they were honest and capable to find the root problem. OVERCHARGED FOR AC WORK. I went to Willy's because they had added Freon to my Jeep a few months earlier and only charged $100. Today I took them my Mini Cooper which only holds 480 or 1.01 lbs of Freon. It was only 0.78 lbs or 353 grams of Freon or just one 12 oz can which sells for about $20. I was estimated a cost of $265. The whole procedure only took 1 hour. The invoice shows that I was charged $140 labor (for 1 hour), 2 cans of Freon which is 680 grams of Freon for a car that only holds 480 grams of Freon. And one can of dye. They did not find any leaks but the technician barely looked for any leaks. Most shops run the AC for 30 - 60 minutes to look for leaks. He ran mine for 5 minutes then told me to come back if I felt there was a leak. I give them 2 stars because the technician was friendly but very poor value for my dollar. They kept saying that prices have gone up but that is just plain old customer PRICE GOUGING . Shame on them. Too bad, because I felt like they were a good shop from my previous experience. They did graciously offer a military discount so I end up paying $205.78 for what had cost me $100 only one month previously. And no, this is not the more expensive new Freon. Both vehicles use R134A Freon. I think they just had decided to charge me more and use the excuse that my car needed more Freon than it can even hold and that they AC machine is expensive. read more

Best auto shop I've ever dealt with in Hawaii. I'm deployed to a foreign country and they took great care of my wife and my truck when the transmission crapped out. Willy took the time to personally explain the issues with our truck and why it needed a rebuild. When my wife returned to make payment in our other vehicle, Willy inspected that vehicle at no charge and even cleaned the battery terminals for her. Blown away. We have NEVER experienced service like this while living in Hawaii. Ok so first impressions, I call yesterday and they tell me if I bring my vehicle down to their shop after 2pm and they can take a quick look at it between their appointments. Today I get to their shop about 215pm and basically I'm told that I need to make an appointment and the next appointment is next week Wednesday 10/24. So I guess I'm waiting another 5 days before someone can diagnose my torque converter. Update So we all have bad days and I was kind of being an ass last Friday. I appreciate the personal response from Walden regarding everything. I'm impressed by the amount of effort they put into doing a job well where a lot of busy shops just fix it and get it out the door or maybe just decline the job because it's not worth their time to diagnose. They also try to accommodate people whether they are past or potential customers. On top of that they fixed a cracked flexplate on my truck in half a day including getting the parts where some shops will take half a day just changing a strut mount. It's worth me not doing it in a dark dirty parking garage fighting roaches and the occasional rat for two whole days then getting the letter from the AOAO making like you're doing criminal activities violating common area house rules! I'm happy with the job, the engine turns over real nice and the flexplate isn't going to grenade the torque converter anytime soon. read more

Excellent Customer Service and Follow Through! Dx my failed AC Evaporator Core last week within just a couple hours of me calling and taking truck to them. Walden ordered part right away and scheduled me for this past Wednesday. Was expected to take 3-5 days (big job - needing to remove Dash in my F250). They finished in 1-2 days, early! Keisha called today to let me know it was done and ready. They knew it was my work truck and I needed it. And final cost was slightly less than estimate which is always great. I took my "new to me" SUV to Willy's to have the transmission fluid changed. As far as I can tell they did a reasonable job with the work. I will not be using their services again. I was given a higher quote for the work than by other shops, but I reasoned that Willy's has been in business for a long time and would not have survived if they were not competent. I would warn anyone who has work done there to thoroughly read the authorization form for the work. After the fact, I noticed that I had authorized them to do things without checking for my approval. This was not a problem for me because it was not a repair job, but if I were to take my vehicle there for repair, I would would write in my requirements on their authorization sheet to say, "do not proceed with work if the anticipated bill exceeds the the quote of $xxx by $50, without contacting the me for authorization." I was surprised to see line items on the bill such as a fluid disposal fee and and a shop items fee. I was not informed of these extra fees when I received a quote for the job. I recommend asking are there any additional fees that are not included in the quote, and get the answer in writing. read more

Had to take a truck in to get a simple part, however, they kept the truck for over 2 months because they decided to get the part from an unreliable source. When the truck was first brought in, they claim to have been looking for a supplier for this part for multiple weeks which I truly believe it did not need to take that long to find one part. Once a month passed they called saying they found a supplier and that it would take a few more weeks for the part to come in. Few weeks passed, still no part and they really had no idea when it would come in. They kept saying they would call back on certain days for updates and never did. At that point, we asked for the shipping information and were told by USPS that it would take 4-6 more weeks for the part to come in. Luckily, the part came in just a few days after we contacted USPS and Willy's was able to fix the truck the same day the part came in. The workers we spoke to at Willy's were nice and the truck runs fine now which we are thankful for, however, waiting 2 months was not worth it and we will not be returning to Willy's. read more

They completed the repair the same day and the a/c is nice and cold! These guys were AWESOME! I went to Goodyear (before I knew about these guys) to get my AC troubleshooting done because my AC was blowing warm air. After about 2hrs Goodyear told me I had a block in my AC unit that they couldn't fix and that it would be about 2-3k to fix with all the parts I would need. THEN I went to Willys, they were extremely nice and it took them about 30 minutes to tell me they could fix my AC (the issue was something completely different from what Goodyear told me). They said it would only take a couple hours and they could do it that day! One of the gentlemen even offered to take me to the mall up the street so I didnt have to wait there. I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs their AC looked at! I didnt need anything done with my transmission so I can't speak on that, but I'm sure they're great lol. There is no substitute for experience! These guys have more experience in transmission than anybody we have ever met. I took my old 1990 Car , which was having shifting problems to them. They identified the problem in less than an hour and fixed it without any complications. The problem with the car was not the transmission but a mechanical /regulator. Most shops refused to even look at my old car. These guys were excellent mechanics with years and years of experience. Any other shop would have charged a great deal more for this repair. They were extremely fair and only charged for one hour of labor. Cannot say enough about how pleased we were with their excellent service. 5 STARS is not enough for professionals that take this kind of pride in their work.
