I was looking for a graduation dress, and she was so friendly, kind, and fun from the get-go. She went above & beyond to make sure I could find the dress I wanted and that there was a fitting room since it was a busy day. She asked others to help me too, and was very professoinal. She made me feel very confident and comfortable, and also made the shopping/trying-on process very fun! I appreciate her help so much and I'm glad I got to meet her at this Reformation location. All the other employees/staff from other Reformation locations need her positive & friendly attitude, humility, and hospitality.

After my 30 minute visit to this New Balance I could not get back into my car because an employee of Whole Foods improperly parked in the New Balance lot so close to my driver's door it was impossible to even walk sideways between the cars. I can't believe he parked so close. I will post a picture here. I was told at NB that Whole Foods employees improperly park in the NB lot so I went into WF and the manager recognized whose car it was and called him out to move the car. Incredibly, when I asked the manager if it's unusual for her employees to park over in the NB lot reserved for NB customers --she told me, "No, I do it myself!" What!? Anyway, I went to NB to buy a pair of the Black 990v6 Made in the USA shoe ($200). Three years ago, I bought a pair of Black 990v5 ($160) Made in the USA and it was the best shoe I ever purchased. New Balance Made in the USA are made in NB Factory in Boston. I was hoping the the 990v6 would be just as good if not better but I was disappointed. They made the shoe a half size smaller for each size, so I was a size down now, but along with that they removed a lot of the padding in the tongue and it was irritating the top of my foot. Why did they do that? This is a situation where the 990v5, one of their best sellers ever, and iconic model number for many years worn by many athletes was made worse. They should have just kept making the 990v5 in Black. It was really disappointing. The manager in that day was really sharp and knew his shoes. He must have been with NB for a long time. The minute I started talking about the tongue and down sizing form 990v5 he knew exactly what I was talking about. I wanted this shoe so bad I took it home but after 15 minutes on my living room carpet it just was not working--it was so uncomfortable and I had to unfortunately return it. If it is still in new condition not worn outside they will refund. Keep in mind something I learned. If the NB website says a model of color is not in stock in the store--that is unreliable. He had all sizes of the hard to find Black 990v6 even though the NB website said sold out in the store. Ending my day here, the manager said look for more revisions when they roll out the 990v7 in 2025 and maybe that shoe Made in the USA will fit better? I just wish they would go back to producing the 990v5. Don't reinvent the wheel and make it square! When you got it perfect--stop!

The store's striking brutalist concrete architecture is the perfect stage for the latest fashions and curated vintage pieces showcased inside. I've always been so impressed by the service at this Maxfield location. You are greeted at the door and the sales people do eye you up and down to see what you're wearing and your personal style but they are courteous and trying to help you find what you're looking for or what brands you like. Luis Rodriguez helped me and my friend this last visit and he is simply outstanding. Such a great eye for detail and so knowledgeable and passionate about Maxfield and everything they have in the store. Really helpful, and he made my friend's visit to the store special and he loved his purchases. This store has always been extremely cool and cutting edge and brought the work of so many new designers to LA. The avant garde design tradition has continued with their installation of a Jean Prouvé 1957 pre-fabricated "Structure Nomade" which was brought from France and reconstructed next to the store at 8825 Melrose, with a 100 year old olive tree planted next to it. They showcase stunning fashion and art installations inside its glass walls. Maxfield also has a dramatically designed Chrome Hearts store (by appointment only) next door on Robertson. You can inquire about it in this store. Maxfield is like a modern art museum with the statues outside, the stark angular concrete walls, the single large display window facing Melrose, the beautiful and dramatic lighting at night and the way everything is exhibited inside. It's definitely a must see in Los Angeles and there's nothing else like it. Items can be very expensive but they also have a fabulous sale at the end of each season that shouldn't be missed.

You can either make an appointment if you have a designated associate at the store or do a walk-in. The latter you'll need to get into a line and check in with an associate before entering. They then assign you someone to work with during your shopping period. The gentleman I was assigned to showed me all of the stock they had remaining for the Murakami collection, which was mostly accessories and a limited amount of apparel. I did try the swimwear on and liked the one piece more than the two piece swim. I had to pass though, due to them not having my size available in store. The associate kindly suggested I try ordering it online as I could try it and return all online orders. (In store sales are final or can be exchanged only.) In terms of parking, I like picking one of the public lots like the one by Crate and Barrel and walking.

My husband and I arrived 15 minutes before closing, already knowing which shoes we wanted to see. A young male employee approached us and rudely asked what we needed. Despite his attitude, we politely asked to see the shoes. He returned with a box and said, "Here," but when my husband opened it, it was the wrong pair. My husband approached him and said, "Excuse me, we wanted to see this shoe," and the employee responded with, "IT'S THE SAME STYLE?!?!" My husband replied, "No, it's not," and showed him the difference. The employee then began to apologize, saying he didn't know. My husband told him that if he didn't want us there, he could've just said so, and if he didn't want to help, then he shouldn't have offered. This employee should not be working in customer service. We came in ready to buy three pairs, but because of the poor service, they lost our business--and earned this review instead. To the store manager: Please let this employee know that good service goes a long way. We've shopped here before and had a much better experience. This review isn't meant to bash the store, but to point out that the wrong employees can seriously damage the reputation of a small business.
