Michael and I went back and forth on the details including creating a finger hole cut out for the shower. He took the time to explain the various shower coatings and why fabricators may mix glass and coatings from different manufacturers. Then Aric (the owner) came over for the final measurements and we were able to change specs in the moment based on his expertise. I'm an architect and I've worked with many glass dealers. I've used Wilson Glass a couple of times now and been disappointed both times. Rather grumpy service, even when spending a lot of money. I had to repeatedly call to ask for a promised proposal. When I finally got the proposal, it seemed really high, but my client was still interested in moving forward. I ended up contacting the manufacturer to ask a question, and when they heard the details of my proposal, they were aghast. Wilson had marked it up close to 100% and added some false shipping and crating charges. Wilson Glass installed seamless glass on our large deck overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. The new system replaced our vertical wood connecters and made it seem that there was actually no surface at all protecting the deck. It is stunning!! The best part about using Wilson is that they came back to make a minor repair and notified us that they thought the "shoe" holding the glass should have longer bolts to ensure the stability. They came and replaced them at no charge. Only a Company with great integrity and leadership would take an action like this. This company might be really disorganized as a whole or it's just one person that is continuously bringing them down. Yelp follow up feels intimidating towards any customer with a critical review (which is understandable that there would be some after my experience). Hopefully they can learn from this and be a bit more organized. Timeline: I called for a glass order over the phone. They said they would send a receipt to my email. Never got the email but my credit card was charged (they have my phone number, too, but I never got a call either) I called a week later asking about the status since my card was charged but I still had no email. They didn't know when it would be finished but would call me back. Never got called back that day. Called the next day and I was told it it could be delivered the following day at 12. (I took a day off work to be here and paid a fee to have it delivered.) 12:30 comes by and no phone call. I call and they say they didn't know about the delivery. Now it will be after the week of Christmas because no one was around. Next delivery is scheduled for 11. Delivery day: I get a phone call at 9am that the delivery person is here. He drops the glass off, removed the square stickers but leaves big finger prints on the glass. I get this is a small company but I would have expected minimal customer service throughout the whole experience and the very least the glass wiped off after having it delivered. Currently I'm not impressed after multiple mistakes and most likely won't return again. At least they got the glass right... read more

Started out great. Wonderful communication with Vickie in the office and the measuring guy was prompt and polite. Their bid was within $5 of another contractor's and hundreds less than a couple of others. Because of their friendliness I decided to go with them. Vickie called back and said that, because of the glass size, they'd need to add $85 for a 3rd installer. Well...OK. (at this point, I should have checked back with the other low-price guy). Installation day and the 3rd guy sat in the truck on his phone the ENTIRE TIME of the install (25 minutes). The two installers held the glass while I nailed in the molding to hold it in place. It's not often I write a review for a business like this. I guess the motivation for it, for me is that the building industry supply world seems, at times, to become increasingly "home depot" - ized, i.e., big businesses running big box stores with morons working the counter. It is always a pleasure doing business with the folks at Wilson glass. The people at the desk are real professionals who care about their work and posess real expert knowledge of the glass they are selling and are willing to educate the consumer. They don't try to sell you something ridiculous you don't need. They are straight shooters. I feel like every time I buy a piece of glass from them it winds up being cheaper than I expected, and with quick turn-around, and they are efficient and helpful about giving me cost estimates / bids for proposed projects that I may or may not be committed to buying. They also offer free delivery within a reasonable radius, which is great for a product that is, obviously, difficult to transport. read more

When Wilson installed glass for our new stall shower in late Nov 2015, they readily offered me a 'senior discount' when I asked about it. We saved $200 that way. The crew who installed the glass arrived on time and were pleasant, courteous, and efficient in doing the job. In early April 2016 my wife noticed that the vinyl wrap which held the door in place had torn a bit at the bottom. It was also shifting a little so as to make it hard to close the door tightly. I called to ask them what could be done about it. They sent someone out that very morning. The guy replaced the vinyl strip with another more solid one in less than 15 minutes. NO charge. I needed bids for framelss and framed shower door glass. I called three companies claiming to serve Berkeley. One didn't answer the phone on a weekday. Of the two remaining, Wilson Glass (Josh responded) was head over heels better in every way than it's so-called competition. He came with equipment to evaluate the job, the other guy came empty-handed. He measured, advised, we discussed, and withing a few hours he emailed me a written bid with all the particulars. I took care of the order over the phone once we made our decision. Trouble-free. The other folks? The first appointment I accommodated the time "they had available" and then about two hours later they called to cancel. I had to wait three more days for the not very competent guy to come and look at the doorway and say, "Yeah, it looks pretty flat, we can give you a door." I had to loan him a tape measure. Then they called and left a message that I could call them back to get the estimate. Nothing in writing. Then they suggested I should come into the warehouse to look at catalogues to pick hinges. They wouldn't give me a price then either. I called back twice after that and in the end, they were over $150 more expensive than Wilson. When Wilson came to install, the same individual that evaluated the job for the bid came with another colleague and the job was done expertly. I couldn't be more pleased. read more

Oh my god, this business is the best. My original quote was higher than what I paid!! I was given awesome customer service by people who were very personnable and easy to talk to. I broke a mirror (beveled edge - 2 layer old 80's mirror) in a hotel. They quoted me a reasonable dollar amount for replacement. The next conversation, they quoted me even lower. My mirror was done on time and they held on to it for me for an extra 3 days. When I came down to pick up the mirror (no car) they hand-scraped off the broken glass (top layer) and re-applied the new piece of glass for me. Such nice people. No complaining, teamwork and lots of extra support (rebuilding mirror) done for FREE. He expertly removed one piece of glass from a bottom piece of glass without cracking the glass and didn't damage a thing. I think that he may have cut his finger doing my work. He even offered me a ride back when the job was finished because I don't have a car and the framed mirror is quite large. Aric helped me, initially. My email was transferred to Josh who was patient over the phone and through email. He treated my glass with a sense of urgency and prioritized the task. My small piece of glass mattered to him. He held the glass for me for a few extra days as I was late and had promised to be there on a day when I couldn't make it. I wasn't contacted about my glass still hanging out on a shelf somewhere taking up room. I couldn't have asked for better!
