They sell you parts for two times what they really cost and then when they're defective, they refuse to intercede on your behalf

I was in the market for a tri-toon boat and worked with Jim Hodde at Wilson Marine. He was extremely professional and spent a lot of time with my wife and I helping us through the decision process. He educated us on "everything boating related". He never pressured us into picking a boat. It was all about helping us find the right boat for our needs. At the end of the day, I bought a boat but it wasn't from Wilson Marine. jim was just fine with that as we got the right boat for. His perspective and approach was all about us and our needs. that is why I strongly recommend Wilson Marine for anyone looking to purchase, sell, or need services on their existing boat. They are the greatest and I will definitely go back to them for any of my future needs read more

Needed to have a diagnostics test run on my boat so I could fit a couple more charters in before the season ends. I was told they were too busy shrink wrapping boats. Of course those can't wait. Now customer focus at this company at all. read more

I would like to express my disappointment in the Service Department at Wilson Marine. My first time dealing with storing a pontoon in the winter, I called Wilson marine service dept. and received a quote over the phone after explaining the size, year, make, and model of the boat. The quote was for winterization, shrink wrapping, spring start up, and portaging the boat back to the lake. I placed a $100 deposit over the phone to secure my spot, and they explained to call back in the following week to set a date and time to have the boat taken out of the lake. The day comes and we meet at the launch at Wilson Marina. The boat is pulled out, and I'm given a bill to sign. I notice that the bill is $457.87 more than the quote I was given on the phone. The guy pulling the boat out said I could go up to the service department and see if I could get it straightened out. The service guy began to break down the itemization of the bill. I told them that I already received the price over the phone. The service manager then we over and starting doing some fuzzy math and taking away services to the boat to drop the price down. I asked the service manager don't you think I would expect to get the service I was quoted? The manager appeared upset and asked, "Well do you have any proof of this quote?" At that point I felt uncomfortable and wanted to just be done with this. The service manager is basically calling me a liar in front of everyone in the store. I didn't come here for confrontation. I just wanted to pay for the services promised. I did not receive an email from the service department worker that took my call, so I just conceded and paid the bill and left. The service my brother and I received from Wilson Marine was top notch. They didn't try to sell us anything. They truly let us pick what was right for us and what we were Looking for, and they gave us the information we needed to make a decision on the right boat. Not only was every moment during our search a delightful moment, but even afterwards when I was hauling our boat to the nearest gas station to fill it up (and may I remind everyone I am new to hauling a boat behind my truck), I was having some major issues backing my truck up to the gas pump, but two Wilson Marine employees were there and saw me and offered to assist me in getting my vehicle in the right position to fill my boat up. The whole experience was great, and I recommend anyone buying a boat (new or used) go to Wilson Marine. Definitely professional and personable. I would not recommend Wilson Marine for any service work. I had a new shift throttle control installed on my I /O drive boat. They installed a unit that was for an outboard and charged for a conversion kit because they had already installed the wrong assemble. When I put the boat in the water i discovered that the lower unit would not go down and had to return to Wilson, where they said it was a week battery only to find out that the control was not connected to the hydraulic unit correctly. Put the boat back in the water only to find out that I could not get it out of reverse, which required another trip to Wilson. Their tech had left out some components in the assembly that would have returned to the shifter to neutral. They then said that my carb was spewing gas and would need to be rebuilt. I was not experiencing carp issues before going to Wilson. They didn't set the carb idle correctly and now the engine stalls when put in gear. After spend almost $2,000 I'm having someone that knows what they are doing fix it. Their service manager really has a bad attitude and tries to blame everything on the boat plus know one followed up on the very negative survey that I left with sales!!! They don't appear do do much testing when work is completed and really didn't seem to care about the poor work. read more

I have worked with Wilson Marine since buying my pontoon in 2009. They are a great operation. I have not had a problem with the service department in all these years. I also store my boat with them. They do what they promise and do it on time. read more

We purchased a new boat from Wilson Marine in 2011. We immediately experienced a problem with the engine. They sent a technician out twice and couldnt resolve the engine's problem. Had to take the boat for a week to their Howell location. Finally - a month and a half later got the engine problem resolved. But they had also shrink wrapped our boat in the Fall at their lcoation yet when we opened the boat at the beginning of the season in the Spring - damage found to the brand new seat cushions. Two of their employees said it wasn't animal damage but owner disputed responsibility. Even though they had shrink wrapped the boat which is supposed to deter varmints, and there was no other evidence that it was an animal (like nesting material or feces). Instead they suggested we make a claim with our insurance company at our cost for the deductible. We experienced a lack of follow through from both sales and service. Never got returned phone calls. read more
