From the outside cousins cafe looks like you just want to drive by it. But after coming here a few times now it's a must stop. Their breakfasts are amazing and have huge portions and are perfect before a long hike or days adventures. They also have really good baked goods and Brock oven pizza so it's a one stop shop no matter when you come.

Roast beef sandwich and an "Italian Stallion" with iced coffee

We stopped by here because we needed lunch and a restroom on our way to strawberry picking in CT. What I thought looked merely like an average bakery actually turned out to be pretty decent. They have a nice deli counter serving sandwiches, a wood fired oven, and a bakery section with a ton of variety - ranging from eclairs to cream puffs to napoleons. I ordered their Italian stallion which was a classic Italian sub and my friend "made his own" roast beef with lettuce and tomato. We got both on a hero (which they call "wedges"). The sandwiches were gigantic and filled to the brim with meat. We also got an iced coffee, and two chocolate chip cookies and two other type of cookies. Total came out to a little over $20. Recommended if you're in the area.

    Meatball pizza. Delish!

This place is a hidden gem. I have passed it a few times but never thought to stop in until now. We ordered a pizza and it was delicious! I was pretty impressed with the quality of food and the cleanliness too. They offer deli services, bakery, pizzeria, and snack conveniences under one roof. The seating Area is kind of unique and is a blast from the past.

Food is good. Sandwich makers can't read there own handwriting so if you go there during lunch rush your order will be wrong.

Tony and the staff at PRP were so accommodating that I honestly felt like I was back at my family's table at a Sunday dinner. The food was delicious, authentic, and large portions which is always important. I never leave with left overs but did so for almost every course. The only lack-of-left-over dish was the fra Diavlo calamari which was honestly the most tender calamari I've had in my 42 years on this planet. Tony came out to introduce himself unprompted and to see if we were enjoying the meal, only to then provide my boys with ice cream treats (a selection of their choice) along with added fun, kind, and genuine conversation about himself and the restaurant. Thank you PRP for giving us a new local spot for us to call our own!

The gluten free pizza I had was probably the best I've ever had. It tasted like the real deal. I had to keep checking to make sure I was eating the right one. My husband said his pizza was also delicious. We both ordered salads- they were both fresh and good to eat. We ordered relatively early on a Wednesday so the food got here pretty quick! We will definitely be ordering again!

White Silo Farm & Winery is a rustic farm, vineyard & winery that opened in Sherman, Connecticut in…read more2000. It was opened by the Gorman family, including Ralph and his son Eric. Ralph has a degree in engineering and had previously worked as an engineer, a chemistry teacher, a physics professor and a consultant. He grew bored, wanted to try something different, so in 1985 he decided to purchase a 17-acre parcel of farmland in Sherman that had previously been part of Upland Pastures dairy farm. The Gorman family intended to continue the farming tradition and preserve the land for generations to come. They planted crops of raspberries, blackberries and rhubarb. The circa 1780 dairy barn and silo were completely renovated and converted into a tasting room and production area. By 2000, the winery opened to the public. The initial wines made available were fruit (non-grape) wines, crafted from their own farm-grown fruit. The Gorman family planted their first grape vineyard in 2010 and additional grapevines were planted in 2016. My wife and I visited White Silo this past weekend. To celebrate my wife's birthday, I took her for a drive in Western Connecticut to see the fall foliage and explore some wineries. This was our first visit to White Silo and it was our first stop of the day. The property was lovely and the interior of the barn was very charming. We decided to order some wine flights so we could sample several of the winery's offerings. Between the two of us, we sampled their "Upland Pastures White", "Rhubarb", "Sparkling Red Raspberry", "Upland Pastures Red", "Farm White", "Upland Pastures Rosé", "Blackberry Sangria", and their "Apple Cider". We decided to purchase bottles of our two favorites (the "Sparkling Red Raspberry" and the "Apple Cider") to take home. White Silo also offers light food options as well. We shared the winery's "Hummus Plate" and "Gourmet Boxed Lunch" while we enjoyed our flights. The boxed lunch, which changes seasonally, included a turkey sandwich made with arugula and White Silo mustard, quinoa salad, a mini cheese plate, mixed nuts, and a chocolate turtle bar. It was the perfect amount of food to enjoy with our wine samples. Overall we had a very relaxing experience at White Silo, complete with a live musician. We highly recommend White Silo to visitors traveling through this quiet part of the state. We hope to be back!

Good thing we opted for medium instead of medium well as we think it would have lost some deliciousness with more cooking. The pekin duck melt was okay. It had a sweet flavor profile, sorta reminding me of bahn mi, but not as deep in layered ingredients . Unfortunately I think the aioli I asked to take out (wife doesn't like mayo and she wanted to share) was essential to counter the otherwise one-note sweetness that was overbearing after a while. The wagyu burger was definitely the star so I that's what we'll both have next year. Place as always looks nice and inviting and service was friendly and fast.

The weather today had me lazy this morning, getting me out an hour or more after their opening. That simply meant peeling away that excuse to not get a burger. Being more of an eggs guy in the morning, today's brunch of wagyu burger and fries totally worked. It's the first of their burgers I've had in years, and had me thinking about coming in a bit later going forward. Then again, it was packed. It may be that the rainy weather kept more people local, but...no, it's always hopping and I normally beat the crowds. Oh, in addition to my usual black coffee, I always appreciate their multi-ingredient drinks.
