Came here off a Groupon when I was between dental insurances. I had bought a cleaning and whitening package. The cleaning was fine, nothing noteworthy. I was then subjected to a 30 minute upsell of deep cleaning and veneers which I knew I would not be able to afford. When I asked about the whitening part of my Groupon, they refused to service me as I needed to do these other services prior to them doing the whitening. The not taking insurance should be your first red flag! I have not and will never return. read more

THEY ARE CROOKS!! I FEEL LIKE THEY TRIED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ME. Seriously, I don't know how this place even has a few good reviews. I am filing a HIPAA complaint against them. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a good dentist. I struggled to find a dentist in Fairfield County who took my insurance, so I decided to give them a shot. Here's what happened: 1) I had gone to Aspen Dental a couple months before I visited Wilton Dental and gotten my x-rays done. Dr. Strait told me I would need to redo all my x-rays because "Aspen Dental never releases their records." Wilton Dental took all new x-rays. I just found out that was a BLATANT LIE. I went to Aspen Dental last week, signed a release form, and got my records in a couple minutes. They told me that just to get me to pay for new x-rays???? 2) The dental procedures they told me I needed added up to almost $1000. I'm a very healthy 19 year old. I have never had a cavity in my life. My gums were bothering me a little bit because they were puffy in some areas and bled, but I did not need all that Dr. Strait tried to tell me that I needed. I ended up making the trip up to Massachusetts to my childhood dentist, who had the tartar removed from my teeth, gave me a specified mouth wash, and told me to floss every night. Do you know how my gums are now? Fine. I just had to floss more. You know how much that visit cost me? $0 (thanks to insurance). She told me I'm a "regular cleaning" and said it's so upsetting that dentistry isn't what it used to be (when she heard about what Dr. Strait tried to con me into). 3) I am filing an HIPAA complaint because they refused to send my x-rays to my dentist in MA because there is a balance on my account. That violates HIPAA. Those records are my property, even if I haven't paid (and I'm disputing what they charged me). Anyway, unless you have thousands to waste, don't go here. I work full time to put myself through college and I'm so upset about the money I wasted on the products they sold me. Thank God I was smart enough to not follow through with the $1000 plan. I truly feel like they tried to take advantage of me. *in reply to the comment they wrote: Dr. Strait told me to my face that Aspen Dental doesn't release records. I had only visited Aspen for x-rays so this was a conversation, not something on my record. And the fact is they were trying to make me pay ~$200 for their services (including a test I never got the results for). The entirety of the plan cost ~$1000. Ask any other dentist, a procedure as extensive as scaling is completely unneeded for a healthy young adult with no other issues. It simply wouldn't have helped me and yet they were trying to sell me into it. read more

This is The Best Dentist I have ever been to. Their Dental work is A-1. However, you have to understand that they will charge you up front and process the insurance Claim for you. It is your responsibility to check your reimbursement level with your insurance. I have been to many Different Dentist over the years and most with formulate your Care Plan to max out your insurance Cap. I've been very happy with the care I receive from Dr. strait and his staff. When I first went to him I was suffering from TMJ and was eating Advil regularly. Through a planful approach, Dr Strait corrected my bite which had been causing dis alignment of my jaws. That was several years ago and I still feel much better. The staff has encouraged me to keep up a good home care program to keep my teeth and gums healthy and I notice a big difference in my dental health. Due to my budget constraints I have had to say "no" to teeth whitening and Invisalign, but I have not felt pressured to do these treatments and the staff has respected my decisions. I never write or pay any mind to these types of reviews because opinions are like MAGA hats, and it seems that most people are only compelled to voice their thoughts when it's a negative experience. Recently, however, as I navigate the health care system, I've come to understand how I've taken Dr. Strait, Julia and the rest of their staff for granted. When I grew up, health care was patient focused. Today, it's payment focused. It's refreshing to visit a healthcare professional where health care and the patient are actually the number one priority. I have yet to have any type of procedure done (even a simple filling) where Dr. Strait didn't call me afterward to make sure everything was all right and I wasn't in any type of discomfort. (I'm surprised Dr. Strait doesn't make house calls!) Also, whenever I've had a problem, Dr. Strait has always immediately made time to see me. When I first began seeing Dr. Strait, I had serious issues - they've all been solved. And they've all been solved painlessly somehow. Granted, Dr. Strait's strict regimen of dental hygiene has had me cursing him when it's late, and I'm tired, and I still have to water-pic and floss because somehow he'll know if I don't. But I haven't had a cavity in years, so he's just costing himself money, as far as I can tell. To sum up, if oral health is a priority, there's no one better. Very dishonest, manipulative and unprofessional dentist! His work is poor and prices are unreasonable. He critiques every dentist while pretending as if he is caring and exceptional one. I know very well why the reviews are positive because at the beginning I gave him a good review as well. It took a year and cost me 27 thousand to realize how much damage he made in my mouth. I can not tell everything went wrong [it's too much], but I'll list a few highlights; He charges $ 1800 for a crown because he states that his lab is exceptional. That's a lie. The lab could not even match the color to the same crowns they just made e few months ago. I have multiple colors in my mouth. When I told him that the color is not matching he threw the instruments in anger, told me to go to another dentist, and left the room. His wife Julia by trying to remedy the situation told me that he will take care of this because " we even have changed all veneers for a patient who's girlfriend did not like the color"?! This is how they operate. Despite the color issue, the x- ray done by another dentist revealed more problems; open and poor margins of the crowns he made, also, post not in the canal. This is malpractice and it is going to be investigated. He as well talked me into invisaligns to correct my low bite. You can not correct low bite with invisalign [as I thought and later I was confirmed by other dentists], though since I trusted him I believed, and he took advantage of my trust. After wearing invisaligns over a year and $ 6500 spent for it my bite is as low as it was, and besides all of that the rear teeth do not touch when closed. Now I have a serious problem, I have chewing problem. Also, I'd like to tell you that his wife Julia. She told me that I needed to pay them more for "vivera" and when I told her that she has never told me that she replied " do not smile on me, I think you are a miserable person". First time visit and what an amazing experience! The staff are very cheerful and friendly and help make you feel very comfortable. The office and rooms are very bright and open which I love. The exam was very informative and Dr. Strait was wonderful and very knowledgeable! In my opinion, they are priced reasonably. I would say its like a 4 out of 5 price range. I would rather pay a little more to know my teeth are being taken care of right the first time... You only get one set! In the past I have had horrible experiences with other dentist, which kept me from going in for my routine exams and cleanings. Now I will be looking forward to my future visits with Dr. Strait and I am so happy I found him. He has over 30 years experience and over 20 in the practices with Invisalign, which I plan on doing. DON'T GO HERE! If there was a lower rating, I would give this office that. 1. They lied to me BLATANTLY about being an in-network provider for my insurance, which is absolutely unethical and horrendous. They should be glad I'm not escalating this to a legal issue. 2. When I tried to get my dental records from them to see if I can take them to another dentist (because they lied to me and because their charges are astronomical), Dr. Strait called me directly and almost threatened me that if I don't come to his office for my teeth, I'll be screwed. Once it became clear to him that I was going to switch services, he said "Whatever" and rudely hung up on me. 3. This is the kind of office where they'll send you to hell and you wouldn't even notice. Everyone smiles and says sweet things, in the process robbing you blind. One simple example: one hygienist, Tiffany, trying to sell me a Sonicare toothbrush "on discount from $116" for $88. On Amazon, I saw the same toothbrush for $67. Seriously? We live in the age of smartphones, Dr. Strait and company! Literally, everyone there seems to be a wide-smiled liar, most importantly the doctor himself. They'll give you a huge ass bill and then be really rude when you actually see the light and want to not use their services anymore. read more

Where do I begin with this place?! I went because everyone else's reviews were so amazing, but man, have I learned my lesson, I hope you don't fall into the same trap. 1. Super expensive, I mean super. You are lucky if you get even a percentage covered. But in Wilton, so ok, expected. 2. Why charge so much for stuff you can get from costco or amazon prime? I do have internet you know. 3. A "culture" to them means scrape your teeth and put it on a microscope slide; FYI that is not a culture that is a slide. I'm not a science background or anything, but since when did microscope slides start costing $30 each; seriously, call it what it is. 4. They give you this first impression that everything is catered towards you and only you, almost like a spa, but in reality, they have one agenda, say whatever will make you happy so that you sign up for the largest package for things you didn't even go in for. I wanted to know, should my wisdom teeth be removed? That was it, I had a simple question which turned into 9 appointments, thousands of dollars later, and I yet don't know do I need to remove them or not. A yes or no is what I wanted, and what I got, was unprofessional staff who gossip about you to other staff (they don't hide this very well) and a dentist who boasts on being open late but rushes out. Word to the wise, don't ever get the last appointment of the day, you will be very disappointed. I am not the type of person to be impressed by fluff where it's not necessary. This is a medical professional's office; I wish all those awards and plaques on the wall reminded them that we are patients and in need of medical help rather than take advantage of us every bloody step of the way. read more

Really great. They really took 'care' to a new level, it feels more like going to a spa than a dentist's office. Their focus is very much on preventative medicine too and that kinda blew me away because my previous dentists said very little about things to do to keep my teeth healthy. What a wonderful experience!! A comfortable environment - the staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable & meet your every need. I walked in to the waiting room to find a card welcoming me to my first appointment & a complimentary water bottle as well as "comfort menu" offering posturepedic pillows, headphones, blankets, leg pillows, pandora radio , a list of beverages .... I would never in a million years recommend this office to anyone. I went in with a groupon offer for a routine checkup because it was cheaper than my usual dentist whom I love. I go to the dentist every 6 months and have had a clean bill of health every single time. I brush and floss my teeth 3 times a day and am always told I'm an ideal patient by my hygienist. I was bombarded with things I needed to fix and was told I "need" Invisalign to correct my bite. They kept spewing the idea that they could prevent all my future dental disease but wouldn't actually tell me how until I came back for another visit! They pushed me to have a free consultation and during that consultation they told me I need to pony up $9,000 for treatment and still wouldn't explain how to prevent all dental disease! I had a major dental problem and I was very scared to go to see a dentist. I googled the best dentist researched many dentist and decided to go with Dr Strait. My experience was amazing. Not only did Dr Strait fix my problem but he educated me about prevention so I don't have future problems and I can't imagine why no other dentist ever told me about preventative care at home.
