I have held off on writing a review because I wanted to ensure that I wasn't being incorrect in my assessment of what happened. I've now lived in this house for about 7 months and it's a nightmare. One that could have been prevented or at least minimized had I had the correct information during the home inspection. I moved into a home that now needs a whole new roof. In January when it rained, a whole chunk of ceiling came down on me because even though I was told that the roof was ok but would need work in the future, that was not true. The house needed work within less than one month of purchase. I have now been quoted well over 10 grand to fix a roof that I was told was ok. The leak that the inspector signed off on happened within the first time we used the washing machine that came with the house. Turns out he missed that a whole chunk of pipe was missing. That was a nice $900+ repair bill The dryer which was raised due to the socket being too high up- which I was told was perfectly fine- is now overheating. The dryer repairman won't fix it until I pay an electrician to move the socket lower. So I effectively don't have a dryer until I pony up who knows how much an electrician will cost me. This company has cost me stress and a ton of money. The happiness of moving into a new home has been nonexistent since it seems every single time I blink there are more things to fix that I was told were fine. The people were nice and on time. But that doesn't make up for the hell I'm currently living. I paid to be lied to basically. read more

This company did a home inspection on my Redlands home on 4/25/25, at the buyer's request during escrow of my home. I did not appreciate that the home inspector turned off the water main line that directly controlled the sprinkler system in the front yard, and then neglected to turn it back on when he was done with his inspection. Because my husband and I were no longer living at the house, my husband didn't catch this error for almost two weeks. Luckily it was still cool outside so our grass didn't burn up, otherwise this company or home inspector would have been planting new grass in our front yard. These home inspectors need to be more respectful of people's property! Also, he wrote on the report that our 4 year old HVAC system needed a secondary condensation line to see if the HVAC had condensation issues, and also the filter was dirty and needed to be replaced. We have had this HVAC system inspected every 6 months for 4 years with no issues and regular filter changes as part of our warranty. So, our HVAC Technician did another inspection and the technician stated unless a home inspector is a certified HVAC professional, they should not be making recommendations like this because the newer HVAC systems have a safety switch that acts like a secondary drain line and the safety switch will prevent condensation issues. The filter was also clean and didn't need replacing but we did anyway. So, we wasted a lot of money having our HVAC inspected again when it was just previously done before selling our home and it was not even necessary. read more

I so badly wanted to give this company 5 stars. This company came out for my home inspection just a few months ago and the man was punctual and kind. Price was reasonable as well. Sadly, the gentleman missed a massive water leak behind my shower (wall just collapsed last week)- it had been going on since the previous owners moved in, according to my contractor. Black mold and massive repairs. Also, he missed that my home is not level- back door does not not close properly. My report came back pretty much unremarkable when he did it. I'm now out of pockets thousands of dollars. Between plumbing and dry wall repair and the home releveling. If these problems were brought to my attention at the time of inspection, I wouldn't have had an issue. Being a solo single parent this is an expense I was not prepared for. read more

We recently contacted WIN Home Inspection to make sure the key elements of a home we are buying was in working order. They scheduled an appointment within a few days, and we were pleased Steve arrived exactly on time. My husband is a retired contractor, but due to limited mobility, wanted a well-recommended inspector to come out. Steve was just what we needed -- he identified several excellent points about the home. Roof, hot water heater and air conditioner all relatively new, all electric outlets and appliances tested and passed. However, by running the water in the bathrooms for several minutes he discovered a number of severe leaks, and had photos to back up all his findings.
