I've been playing at HB Pickleball consistently for a little under 6 months now. Whenever I leave…read moretown and play elsewhere, I find myself comparing those courts to HB Pickleball. It's not only about the shiny new courts with permanent nets and color-blocked courts that actually help see distinct lines for line calls, but it's about the community of frequent players that come out every night. I've found a great group of people that are great fun to play with, that are still able to play a competitive game. Many people that come out are there to have fun, learn, and laugh with others rather than play to win. These reasons are why I always recommend HB Pickleball as the place to play for new and veteran players, whether local or visiting. I do wish there were a consistent number of open play courts rather than coming to the courts to find that only 4 out of 12 courts are for open play. When HB Pickleball is running on all cylinders again with all 24 courts in commission after construction for their new permanent courts, I expect them to be a very well-recommended place to play at.

I was originally…read morelooking to sign up for a session where there was rain predicted, and emailed them asking about their rain policy. I never received a response, so I decided not to sign up and risk it. A couple of months later some other friends were signing up so I joined with them. We played the advanced beginner league which had a pretty wide array of skill levels playing. The fun of a ladder league is that after the first session you are playing with people at about your level, so you can have some very fun and challenging games. The lady who was running our league was very nice and created a fun environment for our play. We did end up getting rained out for two sessions, and they extended the league by two weeks to make up for it. However, the owners didn't contact everyone in the group to let us know about the cancellation, so both times people showed up expecting the league only to find it had been cancelled that week. The rankings which were uploaded to the website weekly were also wrong the second week and never uploaded the third week, so it was hard to track our progress. The courts are permanent and in good condition, so they were nice to play on and we made some new friends. Overall it was a fun experience, but the administration of the league really a lot of room for improvement.

Only one indoor bball and one indoor vball courts. Low demand. . Tip: Check if you'll get charged extra depending on payment method. + You can use their indoor racquetball courts for pb wall drills. + Neat lil open house event on Sat, 1/17/26. The nice, knowledgeable staff gave informative tours around the facility introducing Cab's various sports amenities. - However, the appeal in the email had led some to believe that there would be nice freebies for all guests who come to the event. Likes: + Over 39 pickleball courts!! All outdoor. Most in any one venue I've ever been to, and I've been to numerous pickleball places, as you can see from my reviews. + Ice water on demand. + Lots of very nice people here. + Wide skill range. You will meet players anywhere from beginners to experts here. + Convenient taco stand comes out Fri nights and Sat and Sun middays. Don't have to drive out to rejuvenate amidst all the pb action. + Bright lights on the pb courts in the evening. + There is a good division of different pb courts: you have the 8 challenge courts near the entrance, numerous open courts in the middle, 4 back OG/coaches' courts, and 1 private court all the way in the back corner that you can reserve for private parties. + So funny, this may be the only pickleball park in the world where they have a jacuzzi right next to the pickleball courts. Your chance to relax in between games. XD + They have a gym here too. During slow hours and no players, can get your reps in. + Sometimes they host pro pickleball tourneys here. Come see the best players in the world duke it out. I saw Ben Johns play doubles. Even YouTubers like Zane. ++ Best one yet, in a top singles match, I saw Connor Garnett's opponent do a short slice drop while Connor was all the way in the back. I haven't checked out their other sports amenities though. eg, dunno how their basketball or volleyball courts are, if they have any. Non-likes: - Long-winded drive from the street to the main entrance. Got speed bumps and cars coming and going. - Expensive membership fees. - Of their two ice water machines, the one in the back runs water VERY slowly. Ice speed is okay. Better get your ice & water from the front machine near the jacuzzi. - No indoor pb courts. - The outdoor pb courts don't have shade. - Some of the buildings are old and worn. Could use some remodeling to keep up with the times. - The taco stand doesn't have a consistent Sunday schedule. I heard they're definitely consistent Fri nights though. The court is nice and not too slippery but rims are okay because it has issues sometimes going up and down. We come after volleyball and they would lower it down for us but last time it had some issues. Been coming here for some time now and it's a great deal especially being able to rent it for a month and having a bunch of people to chip in. This location is across from the football field of Bolsa Grande HS. Parking can be hectic depending on the time you would go or if there's a high school game. But no issues for me since we play so late.

Without any equipment or fancy machines she grabbed our shoes and was able to take a look at how we walked. She said I was normal, but my girlfriend's feet were supinated looking at the bottom of the shoe. WE WERE ABSOLUTELY AMAZED. I tried 5 different pairs but she was able to give tips on running a marathon as well! My pair of Saucony Guide 18 were only $98 with the discount we get. This park is open daily from 5 am to 10 pm and home to tennis enthusiasts, racquetball lovers, softball fans, basketball players, recent pickleball fanatics and families out for a picnic and fun- the grass is plush and green and there is plenty of shade. You can bring your coolers, chairs and tents. I have seen catering trucks drive in right by the courts. This year we have a DJ who will be adding some spice and rhythm to the forehand and backhand volleys. So boomboxes and music systems are permitted. There are 60 free parking spaces and plenty of additional street parking. The 8 three wall racquetball and handball courts are well maintained and swept. The grounds are taken care of as well with ample garbage cans distributed strategically. The trash is picked up regularly. The men's and ladies rest rooms are separate, always open and well maintained. There is also a small branch of a library with limited hours with computers and books located on the edge of the park.

The majority of all the old members of the Sports Club/LA left due to the different crowds of people Equinox has brought in. We called it the 24 hour fitness crowd. It's quite true. A lot of things has certainly changed drastically after it became what it is today. I would say 50/50% of things happening here are good and bad. Behind the closed doors things are not always what they seem for a 5 star upscale gym. A lot of members including myself had have our personal belongings stolen from us from time to time. I've personally had a issue recently that resulted in someone stealing by $200 cycling bib shorts after I went to take a shower after a extremely exhausting spin class. That's pretty disgusting on who ever stole a pair of stinky worn shorts belonging to someone else. Others have their underwear stolen directly from their lockers while they simply walked away to get something. It's creepy. We never had this problem when the Sport Club/LA was around. Seem like all of the bad things that has happened to this beautiful gym is by members who were previously members of 24 hour fitness. Other than the negative things, Equinox is ALWAYS a nice gym to go to when you're looking for the most exclusive upscale gym other companies don't have. One thing that makes me laugh every time I walked through the front door is the valet service that offers easy parking for lazy people.
