Yes it is true certain franchise locations are better than others and this is most certainly true in this situation. So many times I'll come through here when visiting my mom for quick breakfast sandwich or bagel with cream cheese and they make some of the best breakfast sandwiches out of the Winchell's Donuts location that I've been too. Their other sandwiches are good too but I usually always grab breakfast here. The girls who run the store are always friendly. They do know their regular customers here too. Something about that donut shop coffee that has a distinct taste to it. This is my spot. read more

This is hands down THE BEST donut shop I ever came to. I grew up in the 1980's when donut shops were all clean and yummy (that's how I remember it) Now most places are so dirty and gross I don't even bother. I came across this one by accident and it has an "A" in the window and the people are all so friendly and it's SO clean and the food is SO fresh! I love that it's also open 24/7 They also serve yummy breakfast sandwiches and burritos and bagels and tamales. Anything with egg, they make it. I feel like this place doesn't get enough recognition, and I want you to know donut shops in the inland Empire, Orange County and LA can't touch this place. I've been going here for years this morning. I went there this morning and ordered my regular bagel sandwich with cream cheese on the side. The lady tried to charge me two dollars for a teeny side of cream cheese that is usually less than a dollar, I told her that the price is wrong it's not two dollars for a small side. She said yes and I told her no it wasn't if she could grab somebody else she told me no And I said I'm not gonna pay two dollars for a teeny side of cream cheese so she took it out the bag and walked away. Bagel felt rubbery: what? Do they use carpet as part as their ingredients still? ... Hold on let me try the donuts... ok, it's not noticeable on the donuts, but if it is on the bagel then, I think the donuts have carpet in them also, it's just fresher, therefore less noticeable. POWDERED DONUTS. OMG. They are absolutely delicious! Powdered donuts have been my all-time favorite donut to eat. Not the kind with the jelly or dumb fillings. I'm talking about mouth watering, thick cake, slightly crispy, white powder...so delicious! I came here just to grab a dozen and when I saw that there were powdered, my dozen consisted of all of the ones they had. The place was clean and well kept. The cashier was friendly enough. The reason for the 3 stars is the donuts were old and dried out. Not at all fresh and glaze was cracking and falling off. Flavor wise they seemed like they would be tasty if they were fresh. read more

My husband and son have been coming out to this Winchell's for a bit. Today, we went there as a family to get donuts for our daughter's birthday. The place was clean, everyone was masked up, barriers were up, and we were greeted as soon as we walked up. Sabrine helped us and was so very nice! The donuts were great (love their maple bars!) Sabrine talked to our daughter and wished her a happy birthday, which went a long way with us. It's nice to be able to go somewhere and have someone just be kind. The donuts looked good, seemed like they were fresh with a lot of frosting. A older tall gentleman with glasses served me, he wet his hands for a few seconds and didn't dry them. He dripped water over everything, getting my donuts. When I got in my car I noticed the bag was wet and my donuts had dirty wet dripping finger marks on them. One of my coworker took me here. She said that she has been craving for some donuts and the only place she likes in Chino Hills area is the Winchell's Donut House. I ordered their Banana Nut muffin, Bran Muffin and Bar Chocolate Iced donut [yes, all that JUST FOR MYSELF]. Store is easy to find and there is a good amount of parking. Donut - fresh and warm. I walked im around 10:30 pm and the first thing I see is a cockroach as soon as I open the door. Not the most lovely sight when you just want to go get a donut. The place is clean . No flies flying around which is a plus . Been here a couple of times to order donuts . Always happy to order my favorite chocolate with Bavarian creme and they always have it ! Customer service is a hit and miss ' sometimes they have very great customer service , some times it's so and so .. but I definitely would recommend this donut house ! I go there sometimes, morning staff is very helpful and polite. My concern is that during this Covid-19 pandemic there is no sign enforcing clients to use a mask, I been there a couple of times this last couple of weeks and I see people coming in to a fairly small space without a mask and that makes me not visit for this reason. read more

I went there this morning after work just in search of "classic weekend" dozen doughnuts and it was the closest one. The first thing I noticed was the fly and gnats inside where the doughnuts were. I turned around and saw their "A" grade posted too. I did pick up a dozen doughnuts but from a different display. The guy that helped me was friendly not rude. The doughnuts were just ok... I want to start this by saying, the owner Bill is an incredibly lucky man, he has three employees Elideth, Angelica, and Jasmine who are truly some of the kindest most hard working people I have ever seen. They always always always greet you with a smile, they bust their butts making sure everything is clean, stocked, their customer service is phenomenal. You could be having a horrible morning and as soon as you walk in and see those girls genuine smiles your day is better. They not only work hard, but they honestly true to god care about and love their customers. I wanted to make certain this was made clear, the reason this location is in business is due to the incredible hard work, stellar customer service, kindness, and compassion these beautiful souls show everyday through their hard work. They have genuinely good hearts and truly CARE care about their customers. However, here is why this place now gets one star, I used to come here everyday for years, YEARS! No longer. They're rude, the owner bill is sexist, he refuses to serve women. The night baker literally wouldn't serve me a coffee because I am disabled and a woman. He told me to my face no and that was the reason why. (Flat our admitted he didn't want to serve a disabled woman. He said it with a smirk as I was in tears. He told me to "tell Bill, he won't do shit to me") He refused to serve me a cup of coffee, and told me he wouldn't serve me due to me being a "freak, disabled, and a woman" all while he was pouring my friend who was with me a cup of coffee. Hehad no problem serving him. It's just ridiculous how terrible their customer service is. (With the exception of the amazing three young ladies in the morning) This place also is infested with cockroaches while sitting at my table i have seen the bugs numerous times. Their soda machine is broken and tastes awful but the owner bill won't fix it despite people's complaints for over two years now. It's just awful how the owner treats his employees. Especially the three young ladies who are his best employees and loved by all their customers. Many times I have witnessed Bill being near verbally abusive to those amazing hard working girls. One star is being generous. I haven't been to Winchells in years. I won't be back. After such a bad experience, I read other people's reviews. So weird because I had the same experience as one earlier poster. The girl "helping" me was so unfriendly. And she couldn't hear anything I was saying. I could barely hear her. Others didn't seem to have that issue. They may have been the worst donuts I've ever bought. The glaze wouldn't even stick to the cinnamon roll.
