Overall, fair, but the dough here is a bit more on the bready side. Not really my preferred kind of doughnut. The icing on the fancy doughnut was underwhelming--it was like the kind of icing you sometimes find on the cheap supermarket cakes, with too much oil flavor/texture. The one thing I did enjoy and would recommend is the apple fritter. I'm always disappointed when there aren't any apple chunks in an apple fritter. What's the point with that?! But Winchell's apple fritter actually had multiple, little apple chunks. Still not my apple-y ideal, but decent for a quick bite in between ways. Probably will opt for a different doughnut stop in the future, though. Service was just ok, not super friendly. read more

We love this donut spot!!!! The food and donuts are always fresh, and the employees are so kind and friendly. They've even offered to make certain donuts if they were out of a favorite you don't see that kind of service anywhere else. Always the same folks working which is a good sign or family owned. I've seen some negative reviews about fees, but there's clear signage that explains there's a $1 service charge when using a card. If you want to avoid it, just pay with cash easy fix.... I don't mind the fee and usually just bring cash for tips. They also go all out with decorations (love their Halloween setup!). The bear claw and old-fashioned donuts are the best I've ever had anywhere you can't compare them to grocery store donuts. If you go in the morning, your donuts might even still be warm like we've had a few times. I also love that it's still 24 hrs and can walk there. Highly recommend! There's a reason they've thrived sitting next to a competitor, most mornings there's always usuals and couples hanging out with their coffees and breakfast. I wish we had Winchell's in Michigan. But if we did, I'd have to be fitted for a larger pair of pants. I got this monstrous everything bagel breakfast sandwich. I didn't realize they made bagels this large. The sandwich was stuffed with way more egg, bacon, and cheese and I've ever seen a breakfast sandwich. I am in pain now. Why did I eat the whole thing? And, how could I not eat the whole thing? The donuts here are also wonderful. There's a lightness to them that makes you think you're not eating a bunch of calories. Thank you, Winchell's. And, crucially, the coffee is robust and rich...a really nice medium roast. Those donuts and bagel sandwiches aren't going to wash themselves down my throat, are they? BEWARE OF FRAUDULENT CHARGES ON CC!!!!!! If you visit this location and use a credit or debit card, you may want to double check that the amount posted to your card is correct. We were at this location this past Saturday (12/16) to purchase a dozen of donuts. The total came to 20.46. After reviewing my CC charges, the charge from this establishment actually posted as 21.46 (1.00 more that what was shown on the receipt). It appears after the total, the individual that assisted me decided to add a 1.00 to my total, for whatever reason. What's even more disturbing is the extra 1.00 did NOT show on MY receipt anywhere, there is just a line that states "CHARGE1" but still shows the total as 20.46. (Attached photo of receipt) When I called this location to discuss why this occurred, no one could or would provide me with an answer. I'm aware it is only a 1.00, however, IF this location is trying to skim extra money off of every customer that uses a card, even if it's just a 1.00, it is extremely dishonest and unethical and is viewed as theft. I have contacted the corporate office and provided them with this information. I hope they follow through with an investigation to ensure that there isn't any 'funny' business going on at this location. Went in late at night as a first time customer, and the gentleman behind the counter was extremely helpful! Got 4 delicious donuts and a bag of donut holes at a good price, and it was nice and cool inside which was great because it was incredibly hot outside. Really unfortunate experience. My wife took our kids in for donuts after school and the place was decked out in Halloween stuff. Fine - to be expected. But some of the DIY decorations were pretty messed up (see the ghoul holding a baby and knife), and they bothered my younger kids quite a bit. My wife called later that evening and, in a non-Karen way, told them it freaked out our kids and suggested they remove some of the more extreme decorations. The response? "F*** you!" Where is the nearest and freshest donuts in West Omaha? It's Winchell's off of 120th and Center, next door to the currently closed Krispy Kreme donuts. I decided 3 am would be the time to find where I could pick up freshly baked donuts. Yelp pointed me out to this place where I drive by daily but never stopped in until today. There is no drive through window so it's walking in the old fashioned way and seeing the selection of just baked donuts on display. For being very early in the morning, the person behind the counter was pleasant and helpful. No complaints except for the music they were playing from a cell phone. I stopped by to pick up donuts for my son to take to school. At first we pulled into krispy cremes lot. The drive thru was not moving so we drove across the street. We were greeted by the manager as we walked in the door. Very nice. The manager and staff were very friendly engaging and polite. My son told me he and his class really liked the quality and selection of donuts. We will definitely be back next time we need donuts read more

I visited the location at 2905 S 120th St Omaha, NE 68144 yesterday to pickup donuts for my family. A large sign on the door said masks are required. I was wearing mine and was glad to see the sign and that the staff were indeed wearing masks. However, just inside the door, five elderly men not wearing masks were gathered closely around a table talking quite loudly. Beside donuts, they serve breakfast sandwiches, bagels, muffins, croissants and other pastries. Beverages include fountain soda, bottled milk (choc, strawberry and reg), bottled and Fresh Squeezed OJ, bottled tea & water. This little shop is a nice stop any time... The donuts come in 14 to a dozen! I have searched Omaha for a great devils food cake donut and I've finally found it! Their "chillas" are frozen coffee, and while a little expensive, are absolutely perfect. Their breakfast burritos are massive and hearty. The bagel sandwiches are actually probably my favorite part of the restaurant. I had a ham/turkey with bacon bits, and the bagel was cooked to perfection. I love this donut place. I think because it's a "chain@ type it's underrated and overlooked. The staff are always welcoming and because we've been there a few times now recognize us and are even more friendly. It's reminiscent of a little old time diner. The donuts are always fresh and delicious. They aren't cloyingly sweet like a Krispy Kreme donut. The flavors of the donut and topping shine in great balance. One of their unsung secrets is the bagel sandwiches! We often get the turkey avocado melt. It's on a bagel of choice-I recommend the asiago. Then topped with cream cheese, fresh avocado slices, turkey and cheese, then toasted. It's split in half open face. It's a generous sandwich so we share! Which leaves room for dessert-a donut! I think Winchell's practically invented the current version of the doughnut enjoyed in the US, so when I saw this location, I just had to stop by and try one. Unfortunately for my diet and my waistline, I indulged and tried two! Doughnuts here are generously proportioned, not small like the elsewhere. The glazed doughnut was excellent, light and sweet, a little yeasty. The frosted chocolate cake doughnut was out of this world delicious. It was as if I was eating the world's greatest frosted chocolate cake dessert, but for breakfast. A cup of their coffee washes doughnut down nicely and helps start the day. Definitely stopping in again next time I see a location. Next time I will try harder to limit myself to only one doughnut, as challenging as that will be. I've rarely met a doughnuts I didn't like (there I admit it). I had a chocolate frosted from here and it was pretty bad. As other people have said, dry and flaky. If I had to guess they were also fried in old or rancid oil. Whatever the case something tasted off. These are probably the worst doughnuts in town. The employees here are soooo rude. Never smile. Act like it is a pain to get your order together. Don't say thank you after you've paid. The girl put tape on my box, slid the box across the counter to me and turned around and walked into the kitchen. Unbelievable. There was a man who ordered a coffe to go, and she didn't give him a lid. Just put his coffee on the counter and walked away. He was pissed. I hope it spilled on him and he got burned and sues the hell out of them. I Won't go back!!! Will go next door to Krispy Kreme where they have excellent customer service.
