On the morning of January 29 I went in winchells and needed them to call police for me due to the person in my car flipping out and threatening me, there was about 4 ladies behind the counter working and they told me no they couldn't call police. My phone was left at home and person was getting violent. The lady behind the counter telling me that couldn't call, that was crazy to me and makes me sad for our future. It seems nobody gives a crap about humanity and what's right. I can't for the life of me figure out how that's ok. Won't go back ever again read more

I went in today around 4:40 am and ordered a sandwich and Snapple, the lady was who helped was nice but she got my Snapple flavor wrong, she gave me apple when I had asked for strawberry kiwi. I asked if I could have the right one and she made it seem like it was an inconvenience to her because the flavor I asked for was towards the front of the fridge and she told me she would have to take them all out, listen I'm all for etiquette and being mindful of people working yk but bullet when you have to maybe they forgot something or something was made wrong I get it, it happens but man this lady made it seem like I was in the wrong for asking for a flavor they had on display. I didn't stock that fridge that way it's not my fault the kiwis were at the front. Also, Nobody else was in there with me I was the only customer, so it's not like it was a rush because at least then I'd understand. I increased the rating because man the donuts are super delicious. I just wished there was actual effort in giving great service. Service is pretty horrible. It's a pretty busy store, it's small and it is not in the best neighborhood. There are quite a bit of transients around. Maybe that's why they don't care about providing kind service. I stopped by today (6/14/24) to grab some coffee this morning at about 7am. The location appears clean from the inside. There was someone panhandling right outside of the door. Typically, I love Winchells coffee from any of their locations. It's mild in flavor, smooth, and fresh! The coffee was all that. The quality of my coffee was great. My poor rating of this location is based on the rude treatment I received by the tall male with glasses that was at the register. I walked up, and there was no line. I checked. I walked up to the counter, and after getting an odd look, he pointed to the other end of the shop where the donut counter is and told me that I needed to move to order. He didn't explain why. He just said that I needed to move to place my order. I asked if that was the case for just coffee as well. I was only ordering coffee and nothing else. He very rudely repeated that I needed to move to the other end to place the order. Honestly, if there is a specific system of ordering, I would completely understand, but the rudeness isn't necessary. I don't stop by any business expecting to be treated in a rude manner. If he just didn't want to help me, he could've just simply told me that someone else would be able to help me without all the rude attitude. Sadly, there were witnesses to all of this, but no one said anything else. There was another male who heard the whole thing but he turned a blind eye. I've been a loyal customer of Winchells establishments for years. I was in the area and stumbled on this location. However, I don't understand the need to treat any customer poorly, especially if it's uncalled for. I hope someone from management reads this and reaches out to me. Honestly, this has got to be my absolute favorite place to get a cup of coffee and sweet treat. Everyone is always so chill, smiling, being helpful and the ambiance despite it being a smaller location is the jam. The best part is that this location is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Just love the coffee, treat and atmosphere combination. Also, the windows are a fun place to watch the city hustle and bustle. Definitely, the city's sweetest gem. This is the best Winchell's around. The doughnuts are always amazing. I just can't get enough of the glazed doughnuts. Their mini doughnuts are always a hit too. The doughnuts are always fresh and made continually throughout the day. I'm tempted to drive up here from Murrieta just for a doughnut, so I'm always excited when an opportunity presents itself for me to be in the area. Iincredibly rude, curt and unnecessarily short with my wife for asking what pan dulce tastes like, since she isn't from around here. Y'all are in walking distance from our house but after that, we're not returning. There's no excuse to be so rude and nearly snap my wife's card in half forcibly reaching around into their Toast card readers. This place is bomb and incredibly cheap! I went with my cousin to soothe our doughnut hole crave and found out that they sold 14 holes for $1.99 so we got 2 orders of them LOL (so 28 doughnuts). Additionally, we got a chocolate and glazed doughnut and the total came out to be $3.86! I'm not a frequent doughnut consumer so I don't know what a good price is but as a college student who is constantly in debt, I'm more than satisfied with the amount I got for the price I got them for. :-) I have yet to try the chocolate doughnut I got but the doughnut holes were spot on. Not too dough-y, not overly glazed (but when is that ever a problem?). There are very few parking spots outside the shop itself but there's a ton of parking spots at Walgreens (literally across a small patch of bushes)! The shop itself is small as well but it's not a big problem to me because not many people sit and eat there so it doesn't get overwhelmingly cramped. Servers are super nice as well! :-) I will definitely go again if my craving grows in the near future. read more

The food here is amazing, but the downside of the place is the location and how it is structured. It is really hard for you to figure out the line and where it is, so don't go here if you are expecting a really quick fix.
