Arcade Coffee Roasters is a place for coffee enthusiasts and non-coffee enthusiasts alike--they have options for all ages and tastes. This is a very unique shop. I must say I was hesitant to go here for a few reasons (none of them great, to be honest). First, the name--I didn't get the connection between "arcade" and "coffee" (then again what does that matter). Second, the location: it's in an odd building that doesn't scream typical coffee shop, with restricted and unusual parking. After overcoming these nonsensical, self-created mental barriers, we walked inside and saw that this is a sophisticated operation with wonderful products, employees, and a truly unique experience. When we entered, we saw a very nice menu with pictures showcasing the drinks and highlighting what makes each one special. The barista was super casual and friendly. She asked over the counter if we had any questions and told us to let her know when we were ready. Her welcoming approach was perfect for first-time visitors. We ordered the Mango Sticky Rice matcha and the Cherry Glaze matcha. Both were delicious, and it was clear that quality is a major focus here. The matchas weren't overloaded with syrup like some places; instead, they tasted naturally infused--subtle, balanced, and perfect. For snacks, we tried the salmon bagel and the blueberry scone. Both were excellent. The bagel was fresh and packed with flavor, again showcasing quality ingredients. The scone was one of the best I've had from a coffee shop--it tasted like it came straight from a bakery. The blueberries were large and bursting with flavor, and the texture was ideal: not too hard, not too soft. It was just right. (They should name it "Goldilocks"!) In addition to coffee, matcha, and chai tea, they also offer craft sodas and other choices for any mood. We decided to enjoy our drinks and snacks inside. As we sat, we noticed they have their own bean-roasting machine (totally unique!). I've never seen one in person, but for coffee lovers who enjoy fresh roasts, this means they bring in green coffee beans, roast them on-site, and produce the freshest, highest-quality product possible. (You could say "they have the beans" -- a little Curb Your Enthusiasm reference for fans of the show.) Aside from having "the beans," they also had a projector showing the World Cup. There are plenty of seating options: tables with chairs, standing desks, sofas, and benches. We will definitely be returning to this little slice of heaven on Earth. read more

stopped by this cutesy, casual cafe for a brunch with friends and it's located in a plaza that's predominantly next to corporate buildings and the only available parking seemed like it was either street meter parking or the parking structure. seats and tables are very limited here and may be hard to find availability as people do study and work inside here. as for the food and drinks, i ordered their raspberry matcha with oat milk which really tasted like the fruit loop cereal. i do wish it was a little bit creamier but the flavor was yummy, not so much matcha flavor though. i also tried the huevos rancheros and i'd give it a 7/10. portion was good for its price, but flavors were pretty one note; slightly spiced eggs and beans. read more

This might be the best latte I've ever had in the IE. I really enjoyed the low-key ambiance this coffee shop offers. I came here and we ordered 3 large draft lattes to-go on a weekday afternoon. The cashier was great and let us know they come with oat milk automatically included with the price. The coffees came out extremely fast. I absolutely loved my latte. As cool as the band Arcade Fire and the eye pleasing Indie vibes to go with it. This shop definitely rocks when it comes to the coffee and they have dine in service to go with it. I ordered an espresso shot to start with so I could taste what I was getting myself into. After having it, I was ready to go! My second drink was their Gibraltar which was a Cortado and I already knew it was going to be good. My last drink was a basic Honey Cinnamon Latte which was well balanced. All the drinks delivered what I wanted and I was definitely satisfied. The space is really big with plenty of seating and it has the look that says we're here to preserve coffee culture. I had the steak sandwich and it was pretty good. The bread was nice and fresh, the meat was cooked perfectly, and the sauce brought everything together very well. Our party got 3 different food items and everyone enjoyed their food, so that tells a lot. The pastry also looked pretty good. The wait time though was pretty horrible - I think I waited around 30-40 minutes for my sandwich! I just hope that is not their normal flow. read more

This coffee shop was a great experience overall. Parking was a little tricky at first since it's street parking only, but I was able to find a free spot without too much trouble. The menu was pretty straightforward. I ordered a 10 oz latte and a chocolate concha, which came out to $11.53. While pour-overs are usually my go-to, they weren't available when I visited, which surprised me since I noticed signage mentioning a tasting room on certain days. That said, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the experience more than made up for it. It was really cool getting to see them roasting coffee while I was there. I've always wanted to walk into a coffee shop and see the roasting process in action. The latte was excellent--you can tell the beans they roast are high quality. The chocolate concha was also a standout, easily the best version I've had. The filling was rich and chocolatey, and the texture of the pastry was just right. Arcade is one of the more quality cafes out in the area. Warm welcoming service. Inside seating has charging stations to keep your juice flowing. There's also a few bench seats outside to enjoy the day. Limited parking spaces or street parking with a short stroll. This used to be an old video store, one of the last standing dvd rental spots. This location has lots of tables to work or study at and there are some baked goods you can choose from. They also do not provide any guidance when it comes to ordering your drinks so that was a bummer. Their space is no frills, but the industrial Roastery feel is definitely a vibe. They have plenty of seating, and SO MANY OUTLETS. It's a great place to catch up with friends or get some work done. The drinks are straightforward, but their pour over bar and holiday drinks stole the show. I got the vanilla pine and it was delicious. The baristas are incredibly friendly, but not in a cheesy way, which is appreciated. I also love that their beans help support local nonprofits like Path of Life. I had such an amazing experience! From the moment I walked in, everything felt welcoming and well put together. I've only been twice but both times, the matcha and coffee were both SO good. And not to mention, the bagels are literal perfection. Huge shoutout to Alex, who went above and beyond to make my visit even better. Usually I'm very picky when it comes to matcha but she made me a raspberry one and it was so good. 10/10 no complaints. The environment is also perfect for getting work done. I'm the kind of guy that'll drive out of my way to get fresh coffee. And the coffee here is excellent, no complaints there. And really, I've had Arcade coffee over the years and it's consistently fresh roasted, there's a guy in there actively roasting as you walk in. The employees are kind and your ambiance is that of a modern hipster coffee shop. My complaint however is big enough to steer me away, I was shocked when I bought a bag of coffee beans to take home and it was over $30 dollars. And it's not a big bag, it's 12 ounces. Let me put that into perspective, that's the same size/weight as a soda can, so not a lot. Come on guys, $30 dollars? The beans are great, but they're not plated in gold. Nor I'm sure the farmer from Columbia didn't personally deliver the beans to your shop on the back of his mule. Love to support local, but looks like I'm ordering online now, good luck. read more

I come into Arcade Coffee pretty regularly and Justin, the barista is legit at his craft. Every time he makes my order, it hits just right. The temperature is perfect, the milk has just the right amount of aeration, and the artwork is always on point. It's consistent every single time, and that's honestly what I notice the most. He's laid-back, welcoming, and friendly but not overly talkative, just easy going while still clearly knowing what he's doing. He recommended a bag of beans once. I trusted him, took it home, and when I ground it the aroma filled my entire apartment. It was that fresh. That alone brought me back to buy more, and even when they rotate through different beans, everything I've tried has been just as good. Ok what a great find for my work trip in Sacramento?! they were having some holiday syrup so i tried the vanilla pine with half the normal amount of syrup for my latte. This was just perfect amount of sweetness. He gave me a little leaf art on my latte. Nice touch! the other flavor i got was the caramel gingerbread latte. loved the vanilla more but it was still good. Notes they shared: they roast all of their own coffee and this location shows it. They make all of their own syrups. I did try the egg salad sandwich. Their description said it came with hawaiian bread but they just gave me a plain white bread... so taking off a star because i truly was expecting hawaiian bread?! read more
