Came here on a Saturday to pick up some donuts to go before heading over to archery. The service was good, the dozen donuts here are 14 vs 12. Some of the donuts were still warm, all donuts were soft. A little less selection in terms of options if I were to not repeat any donuts but I'm a plain sugar or plain glazed donut girl anyway.... All in all, great donuts - clean restaurant... didn't get a chance to take a photo or tried their coffee as I was in a rush... but I'd be back again if I am planning to bring donuts to a big group. Good value to the amount of food you get. Can't believe they are 24 hours, nobody does that anymore lol. read more

I was overcharged and underserved for my order (12 donuts instead of 14); when I realized it and called to ask about it, I was told it was because my order was tax-exempt - a ridiculous and illogical excuse. The donuts were kind of lumpy or poorly frosted when I came in so I had somewhat low expectations. $25 for a dozen regular donuts is a tad expensive for me but it's been a while since I paid for a dozen donuts maybe that's normal now's Despite this the woman helping us did a great job filling our box as requested and the donuts themselves were really tasty. The yeast raised ones were pillowy and had a good yeast flavor. The cake ones were tender and fresh without be greasy and weird (I'm looking at you MR donut in Lonetree your cake donuts have gotten solidly greasy.). The fillings were not generous so there's that but the Boston cream was nice anyway. Over all this shop is small and has tables for dining and drinking a drink and looks like some locals love to visit. The sign said open 24/7! So that's amazing. Terrible service. I placed an order through door dash. They kept the driver waiting for over 30 minutes and refused to fulfill the order. The driver finally had to cancel due to the staff at this location. When I called, they switched to speaking Spanish only after the introduction and were incredibly rude. I ordered 4 donuts through door dash for my daughter's birthday (since kids are still sleeping and can't leave the house, but wanted them fresh and here for when they wake up). I did not receive the rainbow sprinkle donut which was for the birthday girl specifically. I called 3 times and they hung up every time. I had asked if we can come by when they are awake to get her special donut and she said I would need to re-order. The coffee was made fresh for me! The staff have been friendly and attentive. They have a couple of nice tables to enjoy your donuts there, or you can take it with you. Business was dirty. Window in entry with view of kitchen showed cookiesheets piled on n top of each other 3 and 4 high with coconut, sprinkles etc. Very dirty! Donuts were very greasy and messy. Display case had donuts that had fallen of the tray laying in the bottom. Got out to car and had to go back, bag was missing donuts that were ordered. The store itself was in shambles old and dirty. Always nostalgic to stop by a Winchell's and grab a classic donut I don't eat them as munch as I've gotten older but nothing wrong with treating yourself to something sweet and you can never go wrong with the good ol' classic raised glazed donuts and the best cake donuts still no matter what m, the service was good and not bad and not bad being the clerk didn't seem to speak a lot of English but that's ok we made it work would of been 5 stars just the cleanliness could of been a little bit better besides that when I'm ever in this area I'd stop by as this the 1st time I came in and he was just finishing make some fresh donut holes the pic serves well but they should do fresh more often like when Krispy Kreme warm light is on but they could never beat the original donut house can't make something that's already delicious more delicious it just is read more

Wow, WInchells Donuts Is so Ol Skool. I am not sure we have anymore location where I live lol, but we stopped here for the hell of it just for some donuts. I bought six of them for us, along with some milk and coffee. We sat inside and enjoyed our snacks. Nice workers here, and clean decent spot. I've been to Krispy Kreme and all the other fancy-chain donut (doughnut?) places after hearing tons of praise for their pastries, but somehow I always end up back at Winchell's. This Winchell's is conveniently located on 44th and Kipling, just south of I-70 and easily accessible from the intersection. I remember dropping by during my high school days for a quick breakfast, stopping by on my way to college classes for a snack, and during the pandemic I ordered their breakfast sandwiches and got back on the train once again. Their donuts are great and their breakfast sandwiches are really tasty without being too over-the-top. Overall, if you want an absolutely primo donut and don't mind spending three to five dollars on a small treat, there are some great places out there with premium toppings, torched glaze and tons of panache. But if you just want a really solid donut at a great price, a tasty breakfast bagel sandwich, or a quick cup of coffee from a friendly face, this Winchell's cannot steer you wrong. read more

Donuts are amazing. Service is painfully slow. The employees are laughing screwing around in the kitchen. Nobody at the front counter for 4 minutes with a line of 7 people. It took 14 minutes to get a dozen donuts. I know it's just donuts but waiting 14 minutes reflects on the poor management. If there was a closer place I would have gone there. BUT... the donuts beat Dunkin' Donuts by a mile. They would kill it if they had any kind of customer service. read more

I hadn't been here since 2019, when it was BAD (rancid oil etc.) but wow, has it turned around! Now it's a great donut shop again! Staff was very friendly, selection was wonderful (even at 10am), and the donuts were So good; like the Winchell's of days gone by. Definitely recommend this location now. You won't be disappointed. Tips: Watch the massive speed bump in the parking lot (installed, I'm sure, to discourage people cutting through the lot to avoid the light at Kipling), and take a minute to watch the donut guy making the donuts! read more

My experience here was a good one. They make the breakfast sandwiches fresh on the grill! No frozen microwaved sandwich here! Fresh egg, ham & cheese on a toasted croissant really tasted great! Of course the donuts are great too! They have a nice variety of donuts and specialties that will please any sweet tooth. My favorite however takes a special order and it's better to call ahead to get what you want verses what's on display. I prefer the Bavarian creme with powdered sugar instead of the chocolate frosting. Great location on a busy corner of Kipling & 44th here in Wheatridge Colorado. But I seriously don't know what goes on in the back coz the people that are serving always seem to look angry. I don't think I've ever gotten a smile all s times I've been in. First off I will say the donuts are pretty good. They seemed fairly fresh and had good flavor. But the ridiculous attempt to get them is where this place falls short. I absolutely cannot stand when people pretend to speak English. This girl behind the counter was sweet and spoke English fine. However, she clearly does not understand it. She gets by with guessing at what you are ordering. I asked for a lemon filled at least 6 times before she got it. Every time I said lemon (even took my mask off) she would guess a different flavor and they were not even close to rubber replied lemon. smh. I love to see people succeed, especially immigrants taking full advantage of the' American Dream' But this experience was disappointing. Went to buy donuts on Mother's Day and it was very empty but took awhile to get help while someone who seemed to be a friend of the workers, who was definitely on drugs tweaking out-- was talking to the workers.
