Sushi bagels? Yes please! I saw the ikura picture from Instagram and have been craving it ever since! It was so fresh and delicious, plus the wasabi toppings - worth the drive over. I was also really impressed by the furikake bagels! Had to get a half dozen to go (2 furikake, 2 everything, 1 blueberry). The SEC sandwich was also good but I think I would choose a different bagel instead of the everything bagel. It was pretty dry. This was my first breakfast at home post baby number 2 and lox were a must! Odell's was the perfect spot to get a great quality bagel with unique flavor profiles. I'm getting hungry right now just writing this review! I used to say Odell's was indisputably the best bagel in Denver given how fresh their seafood tastes (particularly their white fish and hamachi - which is flown in from Japan). However, not sure if my most recent Japan trip has me a little biased but the hamachi was good not great but the whitefish was a letdown as it was too salty. read more

Odell's Bagel is seriously my favorite spot! I ordered a rosemary bagel with salmon roe, pastrami and whitefish, all with cream cheese and they were fresh! The bagel was warm and perfectly toasty. Everything tasted delicious and the flavors worked so well together. I especially loved that they added lots of dill!! I was a little sad the hamachi had run out, but honestly this is as close to a New York-style bagel as it gets! I've definitely come here multiple times and will keep coming back. Super cool that they are able to slice up fresh fish in front of you but my bagel with bacon came out with floppy bacon and my hamachi bagel felt under-seasoned. Favorite bagels in Denver! If I lived closer to Odell's, I fear I'd gladly be here everyday. The fish here is so fresh and almost melts in your mouth. The register attendant wasn't rude but she def wasn't personable or friendly- luckily this wasn't enough to knock off a star in the total rating of this place. Formerly the Denver baking company it felt weird coming back here after so long. Odell's is serving up yummy bagels and I like that you can do half portions! It's been a few months. I got there this morning at 815. About 1/2 of the seats were occupied. While waiting, several people were ordering 12 to 16 bagels for takeout. I got the Lox Egg Scramble on an onion bagel. Lots of egg and plenty of lox. I added a cup of strongly brewed drip coffee from Middle State and a bottle of fresh orange juice. These bagels have a lot of hype, and I'm not really sure why. They're very dense, pretty small, and there's not a ton of variety. It could just be good marketing, but these bagels could only qualify as good in a city with limited bagel options like our Denver is. Call Your Mother and Rich Spirit run laps around these bagels, and it's not all that close. The bagels can take a surprisingly long time to come out, even when you're dining in, but the interior with its open kitchen is nice and feels like it fits the vibe of the neighborhood. Would you believe me if I told you a bagel was one of, if not the top meal of my week-long trip in Denver? Ok yes, 3 of those days were spent eating plastic elementary school-grade food at a ski resort so the bar was practically buried deeper than the bottom of an oil well. But between the couple of trendy spots we hit, Odell probably topped them all. This isn't just some simple bagel shop that spread different flavor cream cheese on a toasted bagel. They had bagels flavors like Pumpernickel, Furikake, Cinnamon Raisin, unique flavors you don't find in your local bagel joint. Then they had quite a selection of toppings, and I'm talking beyond smoked salmon or bacon egg and cheese. I went with the Furikake bagel, and loved that they allowed different toppings for each half of the bagel. The hamachi had a bit of a fishy taste to it, but not mushy. Which made it better than most Americanized sushi joints. The star of the show was the Salmon Roe. They serve coffee and drinks in a cooler but it is clear their core competency are bagels and breads. We got a bagel sandwich and a bagel with cream cheese. The sandwich didn't have enough cheese evenly distributed, I took one bite and got mostly cheese and egg and then next was all egg and a little bacon. It's was a $12 sandwich so a bit expensive but it was loaded with fresh egg. The bagel and cream cheese was the perfect amount of cream cheese to bagel ratio and the bagels are soft with a bit of toasted crunch, they clearly know how to make a great bagel. We stopped by on a Saturday around noon and it wasn't too busy and still had bagels left for us to try. The cashier was friendly and answered our many questions about the menu. It's a cute neighborhood spot with limited seating. As it was a nice day, we appreciated the outdoor seating to enjoy the sunshine. I am both a bagel and sushi lover and was so happy to try these flavors combined. We tried the salmon roe, hamachi, nova lox, and pastrami lox (which is still salmon by the way). My personal favorite was the salmon roe (ikura) with the wasabi bits on top as the salty fish eggs paired really well with the cream cheese. The various lox flavors were really good as well. I do wish the menu signage was more explicit about toppings because I didn't know what to expect! Luckily, we aren't picky and liked the toppings that came with the bagels (ex. dill capers, onions, etc.). We liked this place so much we got bagels here twice in one weekend! Phenomenal! We got there at 9:30 on a Saturday and glad we did. By 10AM it was packed. There's only about 12 seats so be prepared to get it to go. You can choose open faced to get two different kinds which is perfect. I got one side hamachi and one side orange marmalade and both were so good! The hamachi was insanely fresh and had fresh wasabi on it. I dream about it! The orange marmalade had chili crunch on it to give that sweet and spicy. Although it is pricier than a standard bagel place, the quality and the creativity are worth it to me. I was prompted into trying Odell's Bagel when a group chat I was in posted about this bagel shop. When I first arrived, I was enthusiastic due to the line spanning out the door. However, my enthusiasm quickly evaporated when it came time to order. First, the pricing is on the expensive side. For example, they're charging $18 for pastrami cured salmon on top of a bagel. Second, they ran out of food. By the time I had gotten to the cash register, the lox was gone. They also ran out of all bagel types except for pumpernickel. Thus, I settled for a pumpernickel bagel with egg and bacon, which still ran me $12.50 before tax. Third, the countertop I sat down at, which was the only free space in the restaurant, was littered with breadcrumbs. Nevertheless, the food quality here is a strong redeeming feature. This bagel sandwich was absolutely delicious. More specifically, the bagel was crunchy on the outside while being dense on the inside; this high-quality bagel is unlike the bagels found at grocery stores and makes the wait totally worth it. Overall, Odell's has excellent bagels but fails on the service front. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit. read more

I've been following them since their popup days, but the schedule never worked out for me. I was so happy to see they opened up a store front. My husband and I shared: - Open Face Sandwich on a Rosemary Bagel with half Nova Lox and half Plum Jam - Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on a Furikake Bagel with Calabrian Chili Cream Cheese These are some of the best bagels I've ever had. I love that they season the entire bagel so there is no bad side. I also love that they have some more unique flavors. The Calabrian Chili Cream Cheese is incredible and made the BEC bagel even better. I think that was my overall favorite, but everything was fantastic. We got there a few minutes before they open and there was a line of 15 or so people. It moved fast though--we probably waited for 15-20 minutes total between the line and waiting for our food to be ready after ordering.
