That definitely less into the positive experience there but it was beautiful nonetheless. I'm camping here in my RV. They have over 120 sites. You can stay for up to three months. Currently…read morethere are two or three RVs here and I have a whole section to myself. It's boondocking, no utilities, although there are picnic tables and bbqs. There is a dump and potable water. The dump is $10 and the water is $5 for campers. Many of the spaces are pull throughs and quite wide. It's so quiet and peaceful here. I can see the boats from my windows. I've seen a Harbor seal a few times when I take my dog out. We stare at each other. I've also seen cormorants, buffleheads, and other seabirds. And a coyote. The marina is near the Umpqua lighthouse and I recommend touring it. Reedsport is a few miles north on the 101 and Coos Bay/North Bend is about twenty miles south. There are good restaurants in Winchester Bay. Gas and propane prices are very high. You can buy propane for a dollar less than what they charge here if you drive the few miles to Reedsport.

Eel Lake is in the William M.Tugman State Park. It is also the deepest lake in the chain of lakes along the Oregon Coast and is approximately 355 total acres. Wonderful fishing opportunities here with large mouth black bass, crappie, rainbow trout, steelhead, and co-ho salmon. Other water activities include swimming, canoeing, kyacking, sailing, and boating. There is also a 6 mile moderate trail ( Eel Lake Trail) that will take you along the beautiful Lake where you may encounter deers, and even be lucky enough to see an eagle. Enjoy !

We took our boys (ages 6 & 8) and they were able to catch limits of rockfish with one parent per kid helping to hold the rods in addition to catching our own limits. We all had a great time and caught a ton of fish. The captain and deckhand were awesome and made sure we had all the help we needed. It was absolutely worth the drive from Idaho and we'll definitely be back for another trip!
