Very good grocery store. We've recently shook up our grocery practices, having been in a sort of Krogers trance for a decade or so, going out of habit to the one near us since it was new. But it's been in steep decline and with the arrival of HEB to the area, we woke up and are examining the grocery landscape we've been blind to. We since have been coming here and we are very pleased! For starters, this place looks immaculate, totally spotless, so orderly and neat it's amazing. We even said "this place is roughy the same age as the Kroger up the road and this proves Kroger has no excuse to look so dilapidated, when THIS is possible in roughly the same area". It's so orderly, I couldn't help but even straighten up the voids I made in the products as we shopped like I worked there! Haa! I just respected it, you know? Anyway, the prices are on average a bit lower too, some by a lot! I believe the reason is they don't dabble in the annoying point system or the apps to try to hook shoppers into a "marriage" of sorts the way everyone does these days. To not even try to game shopper's behavior or try to track them at all they don't have to invest in it, so everything is straightforward and they have a lower overhead. I LOVE it. I'm done with having Kroger hook me into buying gas from them in a loop of trying to get the most out of points nonsense. Winco is the simple old way and I've missed it (and a little annoyed at myself for missing out all these years, but no more)! The checkout is great, staffed far more "human" than Krogers, and even have the choice in paper/plastic to optimize your sacking. The employees straight-up seem frankly happier to be there, and authentically, not robotically acting out a script. A nice bunch. They surely must be to actually try as hard as they do and it shows by just looking around. I could go on and on, we were very analytical about our "change-over" and we doubtless will be checking out HEB when they finally open, but regardless how good they are too, Winco has TOTALLY won us over and we will be coming back here regularly for good! What do you get when you cross a warehouse with a grocery store? Winco. Winco has no tiled floors, plastic greenery, or high prices. It has nearly everything you'd need to put into your refrigerator and pantry, at prices that make you sing like Prince, "Tonight we're going shopping like it's 1999." The selection is yuge. Same varieties of fruit that you'd find at Kroger or HEB, but more of it. Large meat section, with both raw meats and packaged meals. Bulk candy and health food. Canned goods, boxed goods, frozen foods, they got it, and at low prices. I also found a few things that I haven't been able to buy since escaping the rapidly-failing state of California. If you need food and are price-conscious, Winco is the place to go. And there's other Wincos around the Metroplex if this is too far away for you. read more

Another great location of a great grocery store! I'm a fan of Winco, which has become my favorite (non-salvage) grocery chain in the Fort Worth area. Winco has the aesthetic of a Costco, with stained concrete floors, high metal racks, daylight fluorescents. But, it's not a buy-in-bulk warehouse. This store is very large, also evoking a Costco, but is only food and some seasonal items. Winco's beer selection is somewhere between a large grocery and Central Market. On prices, they compete with Walmart on nearly everything. I'm not a produce or meat connoisseur. But, we eat a lot of boneless, skinless chicken breasts and Winco beats Walmart's $1.99 with a per pound price of $1.78. This trend seems to follow to other items as well. The staff here have a "real people" vibe, which is nice most of the time. Occasionally, the emotions of a long day seem to ride a little close to the surface. But, generally I like the local feeling. Payment is cash or debit cards only, no credit cards are accepted. We self-check and the machines scan very easily and there is typically no line. I'm happy that there is one near the Alliance shopping area, giving us the option for grocery shopping along with our other shopping we might do in this area. read more

My wife has been going to this Winco for about a month. It is a little further drive from our home but it has a lot fresher product and little or no outdated product, and not being totally taken over by its own brand, all like the Kroger we used to use. She really likes the prices, the quality, the choices and all aspects of shopping there. We will continue to go there. It is worth the extra few miles. read more

Absolutely love Winco! The bulk section can't be beat! I can order special bags of grain if needed and they are very accommodating. They have the freshest Dates and Brazil Nuts I have ever eaten! I miss the bagged Amaranth and hope and pray they get that back. I drive 50 miles just to get there once a month...when I move to Arkansas there will be no Winco! Sad. There has not been one other store that has allowed me to purchase weekly meals for a family of five for less than $80. This is a good store with a pretty diverse meat section and some other things. The layout in this store is a little odd entering it. I do think the prices are pretty low but not on everything. Make sure you have cash or debit or a check. They don't accept credit cards because of the fees so saves them money I was told. However, don't be the jerk that writes a check in front of me. One guy did this and I was at the register forever due to a lady bought every fruit and vegetable in the produce line and then the guy in front of me wrote a check and had to have 3 levels of verification by upper management. This location must be open 24 hours because we came here at 1 AM. The store was clean, had great prices, and the staff were extremely helpful. I was surprised to see that this store had cheaper prices than Walmart, Kroger, etc. The selection here is pretty good. The staff are extremely helpful. My friend and I were looking for garlic butter and could not find it. A store assistant ran to the back to retrieve the garlic butter for us. I did not know customer service like this still exist. There are things to appreciate about WinCo, mainly the reasonable prices on basically everything. Personally, that's my favorite thing about this store. If there are certain gluten free items that you purchase you might have to search a little harder. And honestly, depending on what you need, come up empty- handed. In what has become the typical situation, WinCo does push the issue with self checkout by having one million registers and about 2 cashiers working at any given time. Even if you do get a cashier be fully prepared to bag your items yourself because once the cashier rings you up and hands you the receipt you're on your own buddy. And WinCo does not accept credit cards, don't even try it. Debit and cash are how shopping is done here. One last thing, if you like prepared hot food from the grocery store deli I suggest avoiding lemon pepper wings because the only flavor coming through, rather strongly, is salt. I cook a LOT so this is a perfect place for me to go for all my bulk needs. The spice bar is a great place for me to stock up on all my spices for my mason jars at home. I am only deducting a star because there are certain things on the normal grocery aisle don't have that places like Walmart carry. Trying to find someone to help me locate them is always impossible. Just finished shopping at WinCo foods. Their prices are so great! We got carried away buying up 10 artichokes for .98 each. They also carry Tri tip for anyone who used to grill it from California, Santa Maria style. Their meats and produce are all fresh and they carry a good variety. So I waited a few months before writing a review and this location has earned every star. The staff is extremely helpful and unlike Walmart, no one runs away when they think you're going to ask for help. The sushi is amazing and fresh, the deli has a ton of options and did I mention they're SUPER CHEAP!! There have been only a hand full of things (like candy on the snack aisle) that's overpriced. No matter how busy it is, the shelves and over all appearance is just remarkable. I would expect a store open 24 hours to look like a store thats open 24 hours. However, I've never seen messy shelves or anything out of place. They have a pretty good variety of things and I honestly have zero complaints. Keep up the good work guys! read more

I had a really weird experience with Winco. It's kinda funny but at the same time frustrating. I told the cashier that he rung my red cabbage with the wrong code. It was more expensive than the actual price I saw. I kept telling him and the last thing he said was "you got me there " .... HUH?! And kept going with my groceries. Lol, he basically charged me twice the amount but that's not even the issue anymore. I was like a kid in a candy store! All the good foods and all the low prices!!! I love it so far as this was my first time there. Plus I got a coupon in the mail for $10 off of $40 which equates to two packs of meat! Score! It was my first time in a Winco. My friend had told me ahead that they only take DEBIT and CASH. So I came prepared. Inside it looks comparable to a Costco or SAMs Club. Shelves with pallets and bulk food items. This store was very clean. I came in looking for some quick meal items. They have sushi, but I was craving more chicken and the like. They have an assortment of fried items including corn dogs, chicken wings, chicken tenders, rotisserie chicken, chimichangas,etc. to go along with these meals were potato salad, macaroni salad, potato wedges, etc. They all looked good. They had some soups too, but I got there late and they must have cleaned up. I walked though a couple more aisles. And it looked like more discounted prices. I was really impressed. I cashed out through self-check out. Very easy and fast. Will definitely come back. I want to try the soups! read more

Went here for the third and last time. I went over beef Section and approx one third had black outer edgings, indicating bacteria and oxidation. I pointed it out to an employee and he didn't give one fuck about it. I also mentioned that some of the beef packages were open and the deli lady simply re wrapped them, even though they technically had already been a victim of contamination. Absolutely disgusting standards by employees. And a HUGE waste considering our nations cattle shortage this year. I came here to save money but I guess the old saying is true, you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay extra to have a deli person who actually cares about protecting the meats integrity and freshness, and didn't leave black beef out and re wrap contaminated meat. Your managers need to re train, and get on the ball, a failure of an employee this massive is due to lack of oversight by management. Get your shit together winco. read more

Saturday night, 9 p.m. only 1 cashier at a regular register with 5 or 6 people on that line waiting to check out. Every self serve register was utilized and had a line of people waiting. When I finally got to a self-serve register, the scanner stopped working after every 3 scans for me and the 2 registers next to me. Seems like it was happening to each register because we had to wait for the customer service person to eventually come over when it stopped scanning. She was rude for an employee owner. They need to remember that there are 3 other grocery stores, so when it takes 35 minutes to check out of a self serve register, and Winco is not on my way anywhere, I won't go back. They have forgotten that having customers and good reviews keeps them in business. read more

I like Winco. It has a few strong flaws, but the strengths nearly offset any weaknesses. Likes: prices and options. Overall both are good. Size and selection available are good in my estimation. I like the prices of the beer. Honestly, you can't get much cheaper for a case of Shiner, you just can't. I like the many bins of bulk food and the fresh coffee selections by the pound. The candy options are premium and I see they have a fresh sushi area. Not a sushi fan, but I guess if you are one, it might be nice. Open 24 hours a day, which is great since I work night shift in a hospital. The location just off 35 is perfect for me going home from work. Dislikes: you have to bag your own stuff, which can be a bit tricky when a long line exists and I bought a truck load of stuff I didn't need. Oh yes, I somehow get sucked into buying things I don't need. I want, but don't need. *sigh*. The produce isn't that good, but is ok. The selection on the produce leaves a lot to be desired and it isn't always fresh. I see the meats at the meat counter and sort of go 'ugh, no thanks,' doesn't look fresh. The packaged meats are good though, but the fresh cuts just don't look appealing. Recommended if you understand what you are getting. I have to say, the prices are great. read more

Loving this place so far, it's basically replaced Kroger for my family as for where we buy things we don't need in bulk from Costco. Some of their produce is a bit lower quality, I wouldn't buy bagged salads here or anything that spoils quickly but I've probably bought four bunches of bananas here in the last month and they're always awesome (and cheap!). I'll continue to buy my meat at Costco since the quality seems lacking at this WinCo but I will say their hamburger meat is pretty fresh and a good price. Frozen foods are very competitively priced and we've found great deals on pantry items. I love this place the most for their bulk bins, wow what a selection! Do I need a pound of dried pineapple rings? Hell no but they're delicious and dried fruit is so cheap here. We've tried a few of the bulk snack mixes too, our favorite so far is the Sweet & Spicy crunch mix. This place is 24 hours which is a big plus if you hate crowds. We usually shop here around 2 am and while you have to navigate around employees stocking the aisles it makes for a low stress shopping experience. read more

Can't believe that in 2020, I have to worry about how I look or that my skin color would be a factor in receiving decent customer service. I normally don't visit WinCo, mainly due to it being out of my way and kinda far from home. However, due to a convention I'm attending I needed to stop and get some supplies and WinCo was the closest store that was friendly to my budget. Now I'm a person of Hispanic culture and I just got off work (I work at a warehouse) so I looked a little rough which is a key factor in this review. I got in line to pay for my items, noticing that the cashier was a friendly older woman (caucasian), and she was being really nice and conversational with the customers ahead of me (not Hispanic or differing in skin color). When it came time for me to pay, it's like a switch was flipped. She didn't greet me, attempt to make conversation or even look at me for that matter. When I was "handed" (it was more of thrown at me) my receipt, she barely mumbled "here's your receipt". If THIS is the type of service that WinCo offers, where service is ranked based off of looks/race, then I don't want anything to do with this company nor will I be promoting or recommending it. *Notice: If this starts any sort of debate or argument, I will not be taking this down. read more

This is a great option for people on a budget or not willing to just throw money away because you want it a couple days fresher. Definitely look at expiration dates to assure you can freeze or consume it by the date on the product. These people complaining about the parking, and bagging your own groceries are your typical lazy American. If you want to spend more for someone to bag your crap...go find Albertsons. Pros: Great Location Open 24 hours Affordable Prices Decent Selection Can usually get all my needed food item groceries without having to supplement at other stores. Cons: The layout is odd, and it takes a little getting used to. Non-food items are way over-priced and the food items are not typically any cheaper than Walmart, so if I have the time, Walmart makes more sense to knock everything out with one trip. Cashiers are a little less than stellar. Bagging my own groceries at the end of the belt while others are behind me waiting gives me anxiety. Plus I like to see how things ring up and can't do that if I'm down there bagging. I've had one item ring up twice and have had to go to customer service after the fact to get it fixed. By far my favorite grocery store in the Keller and Saginaw area. They have all the choices I need at a grocery store and the prices are as good or better than WalMart and definitely better than Kroger. The employees have always been super nice and helpful. If I have a question about the product they are knowledgeable and eager to share. They also have the same sushi company preparing fresh sushi in house each day as most major grocers as well as Deli, Seafood and bakery in house. read more
