I've never shopped at Winco before but recently more than one friend has told me that they have some good deals and they enjoy shopping there. I decided to see for myself. I needed a few items for a party that I was attending, and I found several things that were very reasonably priced. The store itself is huge and they have so much inventory of different items. Their bulk section is bigger than any I've ever seen and they have a little bit of everything. Their produce department is big too. They have some premade items in the deli area as well as breads, cakes and pastries. They have a good selection of pet food and treats. They also have rows and rows of refrigerated foods and frozen foods. I'll definitely come back and explore when I have more time but I found everything I needed without issue. They have a lot of the same brands as most stores do and some that I don't know.. I did have more than 15 items so I had to check out through a checkstand, but I could see if I needed to come and get something quick, It would be much faster to use the self checkout. okay this place is EPIC...huge variety of offerings with ridiculously good prices...cheaper and many of the same products that I've purchased from conventional markets and other big box retailers previously. There are a few things I was hoping to find here that they did not have but not the end of the world and didn't detract from my shopping experience. The ONLY thing I wish they offered was the option to pay with credit card (it's cash or debit only) but, again, not the end of the world. I love this supermarket as it has great prices and a wide selection of anything you could need. There is a bulk / by the pound section where you can buy anything from coffee beans to cereal to candies by weight. The meat section often has great cuts for a portion of the price of more expensive grocery stores. It's like grocery outlet prices but selection like any of the bigger supermarkets. The staff at the check out are friendly though part of the way they keep down costs is you bag your own groceries so don't expect full service from the staff. They are good with answering any questions you may have however so it's not a huge deal. The location itself is large, think food4less or a warehouse size. Every time I've got, the store has been clean (swept floors, no debris). If I lived any closer, this would be my default groceries store. read more

Winco I been going yo off and on for over 10 years . I been to this winco 3 times went today to shop with my elderly parents. The store is clean good prices on food and the store is employees owened all wincos are. They have big rest rooms if needed. The have bulk candy for sale. Fresh made sandwiches and salads. Pizza and other foods. Have a really good meat department. And freash vegetables. Some are the cheapest I seen.49 cents lbs for brown onions. Staff that I dealt with was professional and polite. This is my all time favorite grocery store! The produce and meat sections are consistent. They always have something seasonal on sale too. The bulk bins are a huge plus. I can't even begin to imagine how much money I have saved by shopping here over the years. It's much further than other grocery stores in my area, but it's worth the weekly trip. I wanted to publicly thank and sing the praises of the people who were working today at 11:50 AM 5/13/26 at the Oceanside store #145 near the cash register where Anita was working (Terminal #9). My debit card slipped out of the receipt and I didn't realize it until we had already left the store and started to load our groceries into the car. It was then that we realized the debit card was missing. We retraced our steps but it was nowhere to be found. Next we went back to Anita to see if we had left our debit card near the checkout lane. She didn't see any card, so we went to the customer service counter. I explained that I had lost my debit card and asked if anyone turned it in. I was already on the phone ready to cancel my card with the bank. She did not see it so that employee called to another team member to see if anyone had turned it in. Luckily, that person said yes - that they found the debit card on the floor near the checkout lane and that another employee turned it in. I identified my name and what the card looked like - and cannot express my gratitude for the honesty and action of all the team members. We were about to leave town and would not have had access to our bank account - had I cancelled that card. I don't know all the names of the people who were involved - but I wanted to shout out a HUGE thank you for what you all did. Been coming here since it originally opened. Definitely a great stop for any groceries and at fantastic prices. Half the time I can find specific groceries here that I can't find at any other stores nearby (Vons, sprouts, TJs, etc). I really love their variety of options for most categories. Their wine section is also fantastic and again great prices. Checkout is always fast! No matter how long the line, they get you through quickly. Great staff! read more

I really enjoy this place, it's open 24 hours which is super convenient for me because of a busy schedule. When you shop late night the staff is pretty funny, they're mostly stocking shelves, and only one cashier will be open. They close off important aisles to fight theft and their fresh market section is also closed. The only thing I'd say about WinCo is they don't have EVERYTHING aka a Spanish section that isn't just Mexican stuff. Where have I been this whole time?! WinCo has prices similar to pre-COVID and I'm absolutely here for it!!!! Amazing prices for stuff you overpay at other stores, even pre-packaged food, too. I didn't notice any organize produce (might have missed that), but they definitely cover all the bases you could ever need from a warehouse store. The employee-owned aspect is really cool as well, plus they're open 24/7! So stoked to be trying out WinCo for the first time ... major "WIN" LOL! read more

Valentine and I have been loyal customers of WinCo Foods for a long time, and we both genuinely look forward to our grocery shopping trips together. We appreciate the store's excellent prices and selection. Early on, a WinCo employee mentioned I couldn't place Valentine in the shopping cart due to legal reasons. He also stated that I could bring her in while she was on a leash. Since we continued shopping at WinCo successfully after that, we assumed there was no issue with her presence. However, our positive experience was recently soured at checkout. Valentine briefly "said hello" in her typical bark language, which immediately upset the store manager. Rather than calmly addressing the situation, the manager became escalated, even calling security and stating Valentine was not a service animal. I attempted to explain that she is a service dog and wanted to show her service card, but I was not given a chance. Furthermore, my explanation that we shop together at this location regularly was dismissed. Instead of simply and calmly stating the store's "no dogs allowed" policy, the manager caused significant stress, threatened to eject us, and made us feel unwelcome. Up until this distressing incident, WinCo was my favorite grocery store. The manager's handling of the situation--escalating it and being ready to throw us out without hearing an explanation--has been a major disappointment. Winco overall is a lovely place to shop and it's family friendly. Unfortunately, it's not dog friendly. read more

I have had nothing but positive experiences at the Oceanside store. Like most out there we're all trying to find the best deal possible. Sometimes it's WinCo, sometimes it's not. The Deli& Bakery has some deals that beat out Walmart& all our local grocers. Some of the low margin items can be cheaper at Walmart or other places but the sale stuff at WinCo is pretty good. Just make sure you check the expiration& use it right away. It's such a big store, well maintained& clean. The staff is usually doing things& not standing around. sometimes there's lines at the checkout but in SoCal where aren't there lines? First time here and I think I've found my fave SoCal grocery store: there is such an incredible selection of things with decent prices. I'll probably make my way here for most essentials from now on. Everything from baby things to produce, I found some decent steaks where unlike Costco; I don't have to purchase $60 worth of in order to have a few at home. The egg selection was decent too and they had a lot of WinCo branded stuff with cheaper prices. Debit only, no credit cards, which is definitely a bummer, but worth the tradeoff for the lower prices. Transport me back to Buffalo, NY with my chicken fingers and Ken's blue cheese dipping sauce for much cheaper than a flight back. Everything was clean and organized and despite being busy there was enough room for everyone?! They also had the traditional blue candy stations and they had some serious bulk sugar and rice options. Only came to check it out and grabbed a few things we needed for the next few days but the prices were great. Am going to do some serious comparing to see if we need to keep shopping at Costco. I also like that it's 24/7 and employee owned. We found a potty training doll for our daughter that even though was worth the price point was still a good price option. The unhappy bald headed guy working customer service counter in the front which is where customer service should be the best in the store... is the rudest winco employee I've ever seen first talking disrespectfully to my girlfriend after she was told to go purchase alcohol there he very rudely declined and told her to go get into another lane when we all know he could've just done it there.... This place is HUGE. It's basically a Costco but without the membership requirement. Most everything is cheaper than a regular grocery store and sometimes by a lot. The bulk food section is a sight to be seen. Wow. Key thing most people should know: they only accept cash, debit or check. No credit cards. Not a deal breaker for me but know before you go! They also didn't have baskets that you carry. Only carts. But the aisles are so large everyone can use a cart and it makes no difference. read more

Winco probably has a larger selection of food than any other store in Oceanside and the prices are lower than most other stores. They have a wide selection of veggies and ananas ae always piced ow. They have a great selection of nuts and grains. You need to use cash or a debit card because they don't accept charge cards. The self-checkout is generally pretty easy to use althought there is sometimes a line. It is close to Target and other nice stores. Because of the size of the store, it is sometimes hard to find items. They have some organic foods but the prices ae often a bit hight than those at natural food stores. I went to the Win-Co Foods Grocery Store yesterday afternoon with Debra my roommate. I made the decision to switch over to do all of my grocery shopping at this Win-Co Foods location. Win-Co Foods Store from my perspective has the Best Deli Department because their staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about their different kinds deli-meats that are in their display cases. I talked to Terry yesterday who works at Win-Co Foods as a Deli-Department employee. I asked Terry what's their most popular deli-meat she has sold to their customers? Terry said their most popular meat is their Sundried Tomato Sliced Roast Beef that are used for sandwiches on a submarine roll or on regular wheat and white bread. Terry also said what makes their Win-Co Foods Store stand out among their competitors is that Win-Co gives their customers free samples of their Deli-Meats and free samples on anything a customer wants to taste before that customer decides to purchase this food item like Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, Chicken Salad, Cranberry Apple Salad, Egg Rolls, Vegetable Fried Rice, Meat Tamales, Comfort Foods one of my favorites like Macaroni and Cheese. I like that Win-Co Foods Grocery Store has really lower prices snd this store is cheaper than my local Walmart Supercenter Store. Beware of the parking lot--even on a Sunday morning. I was unexpectedly shoulder-checked by a man carrying a duffel bag as I walked with my daughter. He stepped directly into me, his shoulder dropped, and his foot grazed my ankle, as if trying to knock me off balance. It felt intentional and aggressive. I reported the incident to WinCo corporate and alerted store security, but I have yet to receive any follow-up from corporate. Just a heads-up to stay alert in this parking lot. read more

I used to be a big Winco fan but recently their service has not met my expectations. It started with the fact that I had to tell an employee that their fully stocked milks are all experienced. If you buy a fruit bowl at 10pm and drive home, put it in the fridge, just to open it up in the morning and the fruits are spoiled - something is wrong! I pointed it out and was told that they do not do returns and it's their store policies and apparently, the fruits are not in season and that is why it's so expensive. Like, I shouldn't buy it because they are bad anyway - but why than offer them for customers who are paying $6 for a little fruit bowl if I have to set my expectations that I'm throwing money away. I tried buying the fruits uncut and they were rotten, I have bought strawberries just to open them and they be moldy. I went back and requested new fruits and ended up bringing 10 strawberry boxes that were rotten to their customer desk. This is not ok! When I confronted an employee regarding the fruit bowl situation, I was told that they can't do anything. I do not want any fruits from them anymore, and just want my money back. I even brought in the card that was shopped in. I literally asked her if she wanted me to not shop here anymore, and when she said yes, I made the decision to not enter here anymore! We have spent $1,053.64 at Winco last month and I requested a $5.75 in cash returned. Coincidentally my husband had returned watermelons a month ago ($4.84)and used a coupon that the employee Teddy said was a returned which wasn't! I will make ensure they know the sort of customers they are losing. (Because of her!) They lost a customer with their poor service and the low quality products. read more

It's nice to have this location in the fire mountain area, so close to target and the other shopping centers. While I don't usually come to this one, it's very convenient for buying the usual stuff. For me, Winco is the place for buying things in bulk. You can find all kinds of flour, dried beans, baking mixes, nuts, granola, candies, spices, herbs-- you name it! It's also decent for a wide variety of fresh vegetables. I find things here that I can't easily get elsewhere, without going to specialty markets. You can find a number of vegetables like kohlrabi, tomatillos, different kinds of kale and greens, fresh chickpeas in their pods, and different kinds of bok choy. You can also get avocados at the cheapest price in town- this is where I stock up. This is also the place where I stock up on beverages like La Croix- they stock a wide variety of flavors to make it interesting. I haven't compared with Costco, but it's probably close. As far as the other stuff, it's hit or miss. I've purchased fresh eggs and Choice cut standing rib roast that turned out great. I'm a bit hesitant about purchasing meats because I generally don't buy pre-seasoned meat (tends to be extra salty and may cover up meat that's not so fresh) but they do have good offerings now and then. And for canned and boxed groceries--- it's just ok. When it comes to checking out, you can either go through the cashier's line and expect to bag your own groceries or you can go through the self checkout line and do it all. I tend to do the self checkout because the line is shorter but then I often regret it because the system is so finicky. EVERY SINGLE TIME there is a problem doing checkout-- either an item gets double scanned or the system gets confused about item weight after it has been scanned-- it doesn't sense that it has been placed on the checkout area. And then I have to call for assistance.... In any case, it's worth checking out... read more

Winco has a great meat selection and good prices but the service leaves A LOT to be desired. Many issues but most recent today needed to get some meat for Labor Day and a few other things. Had 13 items, only 4 main lines open and 5-8 people per line with loaded carts. Went to self checkout as could be done in 5 minutes or less but after ringing up 2 items got yelled at that the self check out was 10 items or less. Okay, we had 13 but no one else was in self check out line. She made us go stand in one of the long lines and it took 20 min of checker chatting it up before we could pay and get our- meanwhile very few people went to the 6+ self checkout stations and the lady who yelled at us just stood around looking bored. I needed help with an item that wasn't scanning, so I asked the helper for assistance (her name was Elizabeth) when she approached me her comment was "WHAT"?! and stated that I move out of her way, she needed space. I like coming here and visiting their bulk section. When I only need a small amount of spices for a recipie, Winco is the place to go. Even with flour and rice, I buy what I need at this store so that I can avoid products from being stale. Sometimes prices aren't found so you have to ask an associate or bring it up to the register. I was inside the store with my service animal for over I would like to say an hour an a half with my mom , no issues whatsoever , after paying, someone made a noise that had frightened her , as I'm leaving I'm told to leave by a group of girls in 3, I told them it's a service animal who was scared by a noise behind her , & that I'm already paid and leaving the store , proceeded to follow me out the store , refused to give me a name even claiming to be manager ? Love love love winco, but today there was an incident that made me feel like I never wanted to go back. I went shopping with a friend and we shared a cart. (I've shared carts with lots of people many other times) and because we both had less than 15 items we went to self checkout, he went to the one right next to me and we grabbed our separate items and did our separate transactions... when their self check out worker charged over to us (she's an older Asian women with glasses, brown shortish hair with a single braid going down the right side of her head) she yelled at us and said we need to go to a normal register next time. First off we would've had we had more than 15 items, second there was no one using self check out. Maybe one/two other people. It's not like there was a line and every station was filled. the store itself wasn't even busy. Then she didn't even let us explain ourselves that we DID have less than 15 items and that we were getting our own things with our own separate debit cards! I tried to explain to her and she just walked away. SO beyond rude and unprofessional. Made me so embarrassed that I just got yelled at by some random lady when I did nothing wrong. They really need to do something about her. As we were leaving she was yelling at someone else for something in their cart. I guess she's just a miserable person who takes her job too seriously.
