Honestly, not a fan. I thought it was going to be cheaper and maybe better since my go-to store is Trader Joes & Aldi. Nope, it's just a big warehouse. The ready to eat places were kind of questionable and the meats were unfrozen and kept at a warm almost cold temperature. Also it's true, the milk is almost about to expire and most of them had milk coming out. Management, please check these. read more

So happy WinCo is in town wooooooooo!!! You cannot beat the bulk section it's HUGE and it has stuff you wouldn't even think of there. Dried hibiscus flowers? You got it. Three colors of quinoa? Yup. Dog treats? You bet! Highlights are the spice section and the jelly bellies. I definitely had some quality issues in the meat department, but overall the price is the best in town. The produce is decent and the bulk section is a home run. The store is well maintained and things don't get too disorganized. It's definitely crowded, so I'd avoided certain times of the month as well as the days of the week. WinCo is my go to and I am stoked it's in Oceanside! I'll definitely be back. read more

I am appalled at this place. I work nights as a Med Tech and I usually do my shopping after work when there are no people around .when I went in after work last week I had a women follow me around the store. Store manager Kimberly was incredibly rude when I walked up on her talking down to an employee making her cry. She proceeded very rudely to say what do you want. I told her that she was making a scene and that she should probably do this off the floor. Kimberly then proceeded to tell me that I should be on my way and this isn't any of my business. I then pulled out my phone to record her reaction and she told me that it's illegal to record her and that I'm now kicked out of Her store. Prices are good. Most employees are rude! Most Stockers don't say hello. When a customer is walking through the isle. They won't move out your way! They try and punk you out there way! No excuses me!? This morning an employee that was off. Was hanging out talking with other employees. In the middle of the isle. Again no excuse me? Cashier was also rude. Really recommend buy from this place! The food tasted amazing and really cheap. I really like the meat that they have. They have claw machines that I won first try but I couldn't win again. This is my spot for groceries and beer because the prices are very affordable. Winco may not always be the cheapest because I went to Total Wine in Temecula and saw the same case of beer for about three dollars cheaper. Overall Winco is a winner in my book plus they're about 24/7 but you have to bag your own groceries. read more

I usually do my shopping at Frazier's, Sprouts and Trader Joe's, and four months ago, I was honestly ready to throw out a 3-star review on this place (most grocery items are full of crap ingredient lists, just like at traditional grocery stores). However, not only have I found some awesome products, but the service is always super friendly. Alas, this chain suits my needs to shop at odd hours in the late night or early mornings as well. I initially started coming here when I wanted to be bad- it's where I pick up energy drinks and pork rinds. A bit overwhelming in size; at first I would run in for both and run out, but then I started looking around... Tillamook makes sugar-free beef jerky and cultured sour cream, and Daisy makes cottage cheese without carrageenan (Trader Joe's even adds this to its organic cottage cheese tsk tsk). Oh and egg white cartons are about the same price and double the size of other markets! The veggies are a good value too- tub salads a dollar less than Sprouts and Frazier's... and most veggies cheaper than TJs overall. One time I was buying said energy drinks, and I laid so many cans down in my shopping bag that one busted open. The self-check clerk immediately came over, helped me clean my mess, observed my bag was ruined and gave me a Winco bag. I offered to pay and she said no, I'd made the effort to bring mine. That friendliness has kept me coming back, and the overnight cashier is just as sweet (even though she has to deal with the homeless and un-sober!). All this is to say, I do like this store. I never stay long, but I make a point to travel a different path each time I visit so I can check out the stuff they carry. Descent store, reminds me a lot of Food For Less. What I like about this store is the bulk section of food items such as rice, flour, quinoa, lentils, coffee and spices/seasoning. The store is fairly large and they have all your other grocery needs. However, a major downfall was getting to the register and finding out they only accept cash or debit card. No credit cards were accepted. You bag your own groceries. Don't forget your grocery bags as well. read more

I went to WinCo today to pick up a few things. I stopped at the Seafood counter and had the good fortune to have Steve help me. I asked him if the Ahi sauce had any garlic (a close friend is allergic) and he said he would check ... which he did. He went "above & beyond" to help me. That's what this post is all about - Steve made me feel that being a WinCo customer mattered and that I mattered. It was a great feeling! Thanks, Steve! This is an employee-owned grocery store, and they have the most fabulous staff I have ever seen. Even if they are busy the staff is always willing to help the customer before finishing their original job, sometimes even taking you to where the item is. They have several types of rotisserie chickens and other items in the hot foods section that you won't find in any other grocery store. Something else you won't find at a normal grocery store is the number of different varieties of coffee beans. They have a grinder at one end of the bean section, which is rarely found at other grocery stores. WinCo is my favorite place. Hands down. Before a movie, on my way home, or at midnight when i'm craving something sweet, salty, etc... my mind instantly thinks of "Oh, WinCo will have it. NOW GO!" My husband and I love shopping here weekly! Prices are always lower than most places (even the commissary on base!) We love the selection here and how everything is almost always stocked. Finding whatever we need here is a breeze! It is like a grocery store warehouse but honestly, give yourself an hour at LEAST to shop here (you don't want to miss anything). My favorite part is that they even have all my favorite healthy brands here and for a decent price too! Also, the bulk section - obviously. The main good thing about this place is it is open 24-hours. It's like a Walmart or Costco. They even have similar muffins in the back with the blueberry, poppy seed, or chocolate option. There are other similarities to other grocery stores as well. I'm very disappointed in the customer service. There were claw machines and other vending machines at the exit of the store and it took the dollar bill with out giving us any chance of playing and there was no sign that is was broken or anything. It was late at night somewhere around midnight when this happened so the cashier told us there was no manager who can help us with this situation until the next morning, and to write our name and number down and what happened and the manager will give us a call. The cashier was nice and he made it sound pretty convincing we would rightfully get our dollar back. Unfortunately this was a false promise and and we received no call. Maybe a few days later which is today we went in to grab a water from the machine. We needed change so we went to the customer service. There was a bigger lady with hoops on and a guy with a messy over grown orange blonde beard who told pretty much looked suspicious at us about the situation. Like as if we were lying which we weren't. He made it seem like it was weird that the other employee had us write our name and number down to get contacted in the first place. What bothered me was the negative tone, apathetic accusation in his tone, and bad attitude. At least now there is a paper out of order sign on it but it's too late it already took our money. If someone actually cared to contact us I can update this review but as of now, winco lied and gave us a false promise and I am very disappointed with the bad service especially on top of it all. read more

A real lifesaver! I work nights so I'm up at the odd hours and had almost given up on the idea of buying groceries during my "day" until I found WinCo. Not only we're they open they had a fantastic selection of everything I needed for my kitchen to function. They were also super friendly and happy to help in any way. 10/10 would go again. read more

Honestly, I would give them 3.5 stars since their prices are reasonable. Only other places that beat them at times are Aldi and Grocery Outlet., What irks me though about Winco is the self-check-out lanes have a sign that says maximum 15 items. Twice now I have been there where customers have in excess of 15 items with long lines. I have reported this to the employees that are supposed to be monitoring this, and they basically just shrug. Why have a sign posted if it's not going to be enforced? read more

Location: Wow, this place is not only amazing in appearance but in cost as well. Its located on a small plaza and it seems to be the star of the location. The prices are actually cheap and their selection is awesome along with their cleanliness and appearance. Service: Normal "american" customer service where they take their time to do stuff. I shopped here since it opened in Oceanside. I get off work around midnight and grab a few things once in a while. My one star rating is for the squirrel stache face cashier wearing a grey hoodie and cowboy boots. It's late at night and I decide to use a cart with a chair in the front because my back and feet were aching but needed to get my dog food. I was being pushed by my partner passed the checkouts into the store and he turns and says "Hey get off the cart there's a sign outside" I look and say "what?" he turns and says "never mind" We shop and we get back to the front to checkout and he screams as if I'm not 8 feet from him "Get off the cart now." See if you approached in a different demeanor I would have understood and simply got off and used a different cart. I asked him "Why?" he replied with "Just get off the cart, I said get off the cart." with his back turned to us. I switched the carts to avoid any issues. Power trip is what he was on. Anyways giving him a proper send off (obviously not avoiding issues) I gave him the good ole look between the lines and he got mad and walked out to say "Thank you, now never come back" Don't worry Blake Shelton Wannabe, I won't anytime soon. ;) read more

There's a cashier who works there, Merle, who loves to flex the little power that she has. I'm an adult, i work a 9-5, do my taxes, pay my bills and buy my own groceries. With my groceries I like to get a bottle of wine because I'm an adult and doing that other stuff sucks sometimes. As a functioning member of society I have also decided to foster a child. The paperwork that I use in order to take her to doctor appointments and prove my guardianship over her is not enough for me to be able to buy any wine. Seriously though. I'm just trying to get my groceries and this is the only cashier that I have ever had issues with. She literally snatched a bottle of wine out of my hand. She's the only one to ever gives our household any trouble. Absolutely ridiculous. I personally stopped shopping here the first time she did this but my partner went back today and she did it again. The first time she did this the manager came and she lied and said that she saw my kid handling the wine when she didn't help to put a single item on the conveyer belt. The manager allowed us to buy everything but I shouldn't have to get a manager to be able to grocery shop with my family. read more

I generally enjoy shopping at this location. Recently a guy with a "ju jitsu" tattoo was ringing us up and left a very bad impression on us. He was aggressively tossing our items down the belt, wouldn't speak to us and was pretty rude. Maybe he was having a bad day? I doubt it as his whole demeanor changed for the guy he rang up behind us. I don't even want to say what I think the issue was. We'll just avoid checking out in his line in the future. read more

WinCo is finally open and I am so happy about it. It is a new, clean and large grocery store for all your shopping needs. I was there today and received a free reusable shopping bag. Score. There are some awesome sales going on now too. The regular prices here are the lowest in Oceanside on most items. Also, there is so much variety. The employees are friendly. I didn't try the bakery or large bulk section, but I will next time. WinCo is my new supermarket. You do have to pack your groceries yourself, but I prefer it that way. Shop any time as they are open 24/7. They don't accept credit cards so pay by cash, debit card or check. I'll be back soon. read more

I love this store, but as the covid pandemic has gotten worse, so have their safety measures. They don't limit how many people come in, there's no proof of cart sanitization, and at any moment there's multiple people in the store not wearing masks (even though it's company policy). I brought this up to an employee and he said they don't have the authority to ask people to wear masks(even though it's company policy). Finally had a chance to shop at this WinCo. Came on a Friday around 130-2PMish. As expected, the parking lot was full, oh well. Right off the bat, I gave 4/5 because they don't take credit cards. There have been times when I have accidentally left my cash or debit card at home, and all I have is a credit card. I'll just plan ahead of time when I make a trip here. The best thing about new stores is that they're new. That means this entire place is clean and well-organized, including restrooms (hopefully this lasts over time). My brief encounters with the staff were good. They managed to acknowledge me saying "hi, welcome, or need any help." It was pretty amazing considering this place is enormous, and there were so many other patrons roaming the isles. There's so much space that it seems near impossible for this place to get crowded in any one area. I found what I needed, only 3 items. It seemed like such a waste to go for only 3 things, but I didn't really need a haul this day. It was basically, I'm in this "neck of the woods" so I should check this place out. Went during the grand opening. Everything is well laid out, however I bought rock fish and had it in the fridge for about a day and a half and when I opened the wrapping I saw a worm. I had to throw it away. Very disappointing. So I won't be buying "fresh" fish there ever again. I would stick to bulk section, produce, and prepackaged food items. read more
