I wish I could give more starts but my experience was awful. I had a call on Thursday in regards of a vehicle I was interested on, same day was told that if I send my information/fill out their application my score won't have a hard pull since it was only to verify my information. On Friday I received another phone call about the car, it was no longer available. No biggie, things happened. I talked to the person and was clear that the variety of cars they had, were not something I was looking for; we left the conversation like that and said we will talk the following day to follow up. Saturday comes and here comes the trouble, received a call from Ms. Hannah, saying my credit was approved and ready to move forward. I was raging, how can you approved a credit from a car you no longer have?!?!?!?! Sales manager tries to chip in and promise to help, he is willing to offer me a discount but the car is over the budget I'm looking for; so not much of help whatsoever. Now, hear me out. I get it, things happened. But it was not my fault that Ms. Nosey did things her way and brought my credit score down, by approving for a car they did not even have in stock. Please please please listen to the low rated reviews, I recently bought a car from this dealership back in February and have experienced nothing but problems. The car needed two new tires, an alignment, a new AC compressor and now a transmission rebuild. There's a reason some of these cars are being sold "as is" and it's simply because they're lemons and they don't want to be liable if anything happens. The manager told me my car drives perfectly fine even though I've had two actual mechanics look at it and say it needs a transmission rebuild. His response was "you can't trust everybody". Obviously I'm going to take two mechanic's word over a sleazy car salesman. I take car buying seriously. the staff at wind rider auto were willing to work with me on pricing and did their best to accommodate me. I requested a third party pre-inspection at my expense which they agreed to. They required a $300 deposit and told me that if I didn't want to move forward with the deal that they would refund my deposit. The inspection went well and the 2015 mini cooper s is an overall good car. Although we didn't come to a deal they kept their word, refunded me my deposit, and were professional. Then when we were paying for the TWO cars we were buying they told us that the warranty doesn't apply because we got the 200 military discount on the price. So the warranty isn't technically free. It's padded in the price. If the price goes down the free warranty goes away. When the salesman was outside with one of the managers another one of the other too many managers they have came in the office and told us that we should have looked at their web site and "stop holding their feet to the fire" because we were asking them to stand by the offer they made. I bought a dodge grand caravan from this dealership recently and this has been the worst experience. They know that Virginia has no used car lemon law and they are more than willing to have their state inspectors pass a car knowing it is a dud. I have had my van in the shop 4 times in less than 6 months with major repairs. The general manager will not call you back no matter what the sales manager says and they promis to fight for you but then nothing happens I am stuck with a car that cost me way to much for how useless it is. THIS PLACE WILL RIP YOU OFF!!! I bought a used car from them 2002 Toyota Camry, within THREE days... the car started smoking and the check engine light came on. I go to a mechanic he tells me that my radiator is completely busted and the engine is overheating. $350 Upon purchasing, the manager Carlos was rude and unresponsive. I personally witnessed him tell an employee to tell a CUSTOMER that "the car is what it is, and that if they wanted the car then they will buy it for that price"... which was exactly the attitude I received. The dealership withheld information until the absolutely last minute regarding the inspection of the car. This is a great WHOLESALER dealership (only one in the area) Reading other reviews, it seems people don't understand what a wholesaler does or offers. They offer higher mileage older cars at a ok price. In his case the car may need a little work, minor maintenance and may have some issues. For these reasons you should look at Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Volvo, BMW or VW models only as they tend to last well over 100K. You buy an American car, you will need to buy another not too long after. I have now been through 2 purchases with them, one for myself, a 2008 Mazda 3 and one for a family member, a 2016 Honda Civic. Both cars have been great. Yes, the Mazda needed new tires, but other than that it's run great. Only downside, (minor btw) They do not keep the titles on sight and will mail it to you. You may end up getting uncomfortably close to the expiration of the temp tags before it arrives. I did receive mine in time not too worry, but when it got close they offered to give me new temp tags if needed. read more

We purchased a 2006 Subaru Baja, yes 2006, for our son as a surprise in December of 2020 from Wind Rider. I flew to Virginia to pick up this vehicle after speaking extensively with Manny and Hannah on the phone. When I left home I joked about what I should pack as I assumed I would be stranded on the road at some point during the 400+ mile drive home. A 2006 vehicle with only 71,000 miles on it had probably never been driven 400+ miles in one shot on the interstate. Well, everything went surprisingly well, and shockingly I made it home without incident. We surprised our son who was completely floored. The next day he drove the car to a sports practice, and on the way home the heater stopped blowing hot air as he pulled in the driveway. The next day I moved the car back on the driveway and there was an extremely large leak of some kind very apparently. I had the car towed to Subaru and contacted Manny at Wind Rider as we had purchased the warranty. To make a VERY long story as short as possible Subaru immediately recommended an engine replacement at a cost of $10,000 due to warped cylinder heads. I conveyed this to Manny who spoke with Subaru. Manny then researched auto shops in our home town and very respectfully and diplomatically asked that we take the car to another shop. My husband and I spoke with the shop and had the car towed a second time to this shop. As it turns out the father/son owners worked/work for Subaru and basically said there is no way they could determine that you have leaky cylinder heads without replacing the radiator which split and is very common in this particular vehicle. They replaced the radiator (and alternator that got leaked on) at half the price Subaru quoted us and ran the car. They said there is absolutely no temperature change. There is nothing wrong with the engine or cylinder heads. I remained skeptical. As I said in the beginning of this review, I expected to be stranded on the side of the road just driving the car home. Manny remained attentive through all. I remained skeptical and reminded my son to watch all the gauges, particularly the temperature gauge, like a hawk. So now 4 months later we are learning the nuances of the car. Did we have to pay for a new radiator, yes. Have we had to pay for other repairs as we learned the nuances of this older car? Yes. No ones fault but our own. But in the end we were beyond impressed with Wind Rider Auto and Manny. I can't say it loud enough in writing, YES YES YES. read more

I do own my mistakes which are 1 I should have shopped around a bit more 2 That car should not have left the lot without me taken it to my mechanic 3 I should not have my deposit on hand . Now the harrow story begins even after reading negative reviews online I still purchased the car . The first thing I noticed was that the windshield is chipped ( that's going to come back to bite me in a few months ) these chips only get worse. I finally took the car in for a total check up and found that the car lacked the struts to hold the bonnet up . My cost 100 bucks. when I went there to have them install it Jamie the salesman was so rude he practically treated me as a leper , he shouted at me that "that I have to go through Manny to get stuff done and furthermore the worker is not a mechanic" . The car needs almost 800 bucks worth of new tires , an alignment that cost over 100 bucks that was discounted . In short the car needs almost 5000 bucks worth of work to make it road safe . We are taking about timing belt , stuts ,cabin filters ,shock absorbers etc . I called to speak to Manny F about the additional cost that I am now faced with and was told by the female sales agent that her mechanic is "backed up ". I am have now gotten so used to being lied to and given the runaround at this company that I use my contact there to lower my blood pressure . To make matters worse the temporary tag expiry date is fast approaching . I predict a runaround when I call about my new license plate. Least I forget to add the car uses premium gas . I am thinking of returning the car and cutting my losses but my credit could not survive a repo. They went to "their mechanic" and obtained a valid inspection sticker. That vehicle had illegal repairs on it, and once up on the lift, found parts that rusted so bad that they fell apart when the lift went up. They knowingly and willingly placed that vehicle on their lot for sale knowing that it was unsafe. Of course, as expected, they said it was my problem and it was not that way when they had it. They took his money for a car he can use only until the temporary tag runs out. That's $110 a day for one month. I even checked the AC and CD player. The only thing I didn't do was have a mechanic physically take it apart. 12 days after I bought it, the transmission failed. On letting the dealer know, they hemmed and hawed for several days before offering to give me 200 dollars towards the cost of the 2000 dollar repairs. I know now that any reputable dealership will offer at least a 30 day warranty on any used car they sell. This dealership offers nothing. Worst place to buy a car from. STAY AWAY!!! Although the price of the vehicle that I bought was good, the process was a nightmare. After I decided to purchase the vehicle, they couldn't release it to me because it needed a state inspection. It took hem a week to get them done. The communication during that wait was awful! They told me that it was being seen that day, and I would drive by and the vehicle had not moved. I would call to check on status, no call backs. After the purchase, I come to find out that they had forgotten to pay my trade in off!!!! I had to go back and forth with my old lender to make sure that I wasn't held liable. Finally, weeks later get all that resolved. My first pair of temporary tags are about to expire. They say that it's taking longer than expected, they give me a second set. I am now asking for my 3RD SET OF TEMP TAGS! They pass the buck and refuse to take responsibility. By the way I bought te vehicle in March and it's now mid May, and I'm still waiting! I wouldn't recommend at all. Let me start by saying that I understand this is a wholesale auto dealership and that the vehicles may need work. My brother bought a car from this place and that was well communicated and understood. Where the dealership fell short, is that they failed to uphold their end of the contract due to laziness and being unorganized. My brother was responsible for getting the vehicle inspected and emissions tested before a specific date, in return, it was the dealerships responsibility to register the vehicle and deliver the license plates prior to the expiration of the temporary plates. The vehicle needed extra work done on it to pass the emissions test and per agreement, we did the necessary work to get it fixed and pass. The dealership failed to deliver the permanent license plates on time despite them being ready at the dmv. Because of their error, the car was ticketed and towed. The dealer openly admitted that they were at fault in this situation, however they were not willing to fully reimburse my brother for the money he spent getting the car back. My brother and i wasted time, money, effort, and a day of work ironing out details that could have been avoided had the dealer done his job and delivered the license plate timely. The error is not what frustrated me in this situation, it's the dealership not taking responsibility for their own actions. Integrity is a large part of business ownership. The dealership had a clear, signed contract with my brother and was negligent in fulfilling their duty to complete said contract; an action that could possibly be brought to court, and would be worth it if the implications were greater. If i cannot trust a business owners word, I would not recommend this company for myself or any other person interested. read more
