We eat at the Wind River Brewing Company every couple of months and have never had a bad meal. The food is always perfectly cooked and fresh. I am very picky about my food and it comes the way I ask every time. We have had the burgers and beer battered fries, french dip sandwich, onion rings, seafood chowder. We have been going to the Brewery over the years as a stop off after a long backpacking trip. It started out as a small place and has grown by leaps and bounds. This is most likely because of the really excellent beer. This was a 5 star place for us in the beginning but the service has become extremely slow due to the popularity of the place. I went in with a party of 4 later (around 8:45) on a Saturday night. The place was about 3/4 full an we were able to get a table right away. It took a few minutes to get us seated and get drink orders. No big deal. The waitress brought our drinks promptly enough but it took probably 10 minutes for her to get back and take our order for apps and food. This is where things started to go sideways. The appetizer took about 15 minutes (cheese and pretzels) and the food took another almost 20 minutes after the app. We ordered a couple of burgers and a couple of salads. Two tables that came in after us were served their food before us. When we asked the waitress what was going on, she just replied that the kitchen was slammed. By this point the restaurant was less than half full so I'd hate to see things if it was really busy. And no mention of the other tables that arrived after and served before us. We asked for refills and another round of drinks but I think she forgot as she was off helping other tables again. By the time our food finally arrived, we had been there for almost an hour. The other 2 tables - also with salads and burgers had already finished their meals. Tired from our trip, we asked for our check as soon as our food arrived just so we could eat and wouldn't have to wait again. We had actually finished eating before finally getting cashed out. So in total, we spent well over an hour there in a restaurant that wasn't busy to get a round of drinks and a single refill, a basic app and a couple of salads and burgers. The food itself was ok - not great but not the worst either. But the service was just terrible. We were honestly at the point of telling the waitress to just cancel the food order and cash us out that we were leaving. It was that bad. My advice to you, if you forgot to ring in our order or the kitchen lost it or whatever, that's unfortunate but we all get that it happens. Just tell us. Offer a discount or comp the apps. But to almost not acknowledge how long the service was taking and to make lame excuses about how busy the kitchen is when the restaurant is clearly not that busy and the tables around us that arrived after us are getting the same food we ordered and are finishing their meals before our food arrives... well, you deserve your 1 star. Terrible service, if there's more than a few tables filled you'll wait an hour for food. And somehow it still arrives cold. Saw 4 staff people just standing around looking at each other, but can't get anyone to come even get you water. Sadly in Pinedale this is probably one of the better places. Over cooked dry beef patty (even though I ordered medium.)Served on two dry, cold pieces of bread and a scoop of what I believe to be velveeta shells and cheese. Half on the meat, half on the plate. I think this place is over rated, and over priced. Expensive for the portion and the quality. Here for a birthday, I ordered a flat iron steak salad Medium, was delivered rare. Asked politely for it to be corrected, came back with some pieces nuked and burned and the other half still rare. In the mean time I ate a street taco, that was bland, the shrimp skewers not so awesome, the combo platter was overpriced for the portion size. However the Rueben supposedly was delicious, drinks were good and the server was sweet and polite. Just not impressed at all with this overpriced food. Stopped here for an early dinner and a beer on our way to Jackson. It was a nice day, so sat out on the patio. The outdoor area was about half full, still had good prompt service. I'll start with what was great about this place...the burger! One of the juiciest, tastiest burgers I've ever had. Problem was our dinner order took a long time to get filled. We waited almost an hour and it didn't seem that busy. The atmosphere inside was kind of lame-all open with high ceilings. The salad was served on the same plate as the burger which meant a lot of it was warm lettuce and got mixed up with my burger fixings. They're trying to be more than they are. We have been here before but when we visited today we sat in the seat yourself patio and were ignored by 3 different servers for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes we asked for a server with no acknowledgment or "sorry or we will be right with you" extremely rude. We got up and left all 6 of us. The beer was good. Most of the food was good. But my salad had rotten lettuce and rotten tomatoes and when I complained the manager was downright RUDE and still made me pay for half of the salad. Honestly I have never been treated so rudely by a service worker in my entire life. I guess the food is great. Most seem to think so. We waited for 10 minutes after being seated before leaving. No water, no "I'll be right with you," etc. Only 4 tables, and all were done or nearly done eating. The problem was the one visible server was too busy flirting with four young guys from Washington State. High fives, laughs, all the fun stuff while we watched. In the mean time, a young couple came in and got seated with water instantly. So, I guess the place doesn't cater to old people who have lots of money and who used to be servers and bartenders, and like to tip good service generously. If you have lots of time to waste,stick around. The food might be good. The manager apologized profusely, but after 10 minutes of watching the Bachelor or Bachelorette show, sorry is too late. My wife and I frequently went here because the food is pretty good, but management can't handle more than three people in the restaurant at a time, and turns rude as soon as it gets a little too crowded. We cut her slack the first two times it happened, but after her snapping at us and hanging up on us for trying to place a to go order( which they normally do) we'd had enough. We ate here a couple of weeks back while at a hockey tourney for our kids. Was a bit hesitant on some of the reviews but glad we stopped in. We had two tables - one table comprised of somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 kids mostly 8 and under and the second table was the parents. We had somewhere between 25-30 people total in our party. The waitress took care of both tables pretty much by herself and did a pretty good job to boot. Out food came out pretty quickly considering the number of people and both my wife and i thought our food was great. We'd definitely go back again. read more

This a follow up review. I felt it needed updated after last couple visits. Service has went off a cliff at this place! Went in one night waited 10+ mins in bar and never even got drink order placed. One waiter was working his butt off but the rest were struggling and seemed like they hate being there and just didnt care.
