Stopped by here for lunch. My husband got the orange chicken with fried rice lunch special and I got the kung poa chicken with chow mein special lunch special. The chow mein was $2 dollars extra but that's okay because it came with chicken. The food was decent, not great, but not bad. Good things about the restaurant. The waiter was quiet, but very prompt with everything. He got our orders right and made sure we had what we needed. It is important to note the restaurant was very clean. We did get waters that had a funny taste to it, so I couldn't drink it. There is ample parking space on the side entrance and in the back of the restaurant. I have to apologize. I guess not eating earlier and drinking to much cowboy whiskey at the cowboy bar messed up my dine in experience. Hence the pictures. I'm sorry I took your bag of crackers. I owe you. What I do know for sure, my breakfast (dinner meal), was amazing. I loved the spice, Flavor, crispy, chopped vegetables, meat, shrimp and mushrooms. Found on Yelp, we stopped here for lunch on the way home from a trip to Colorado. Everything we ordered was delicious. They even had a decent egg roll which is a rare find. The place is clean and the service was great. Since we live in a food desert for Chinese it would be worth the scenic half day trip to go back and enjoy again. read more

my wife and i are visiting from California. In general my wife loves Chinese food and for me personally it's not my go to. The staff was friendly. The interior was clean but dated, to be expected in a small town such as pinedale. It's "all the civilization you need". The menu was full of great options. My wife ordered the chicken lo mein and i ordered the mango chicken special. I absolutely fell in love with the mango chicken. It's the first time in my life i ordered something mango and could actually see huge chunks of mango in the dish. If i wasn't married i would have taken the mango chicken home with me, it was that good. Unfortunately my wife was not as big of a fan of her lo mein. She said it was more like a soup and lacked flavor. She also said it was the worst Chinese food she ever had which hurt my feelings because for the first time in my life i thought i liked Chinese food. Well, Pinedale, WY is home to great Chinese! Husband loved the Chinese ribs, I loved my Sezchuan chicken. Soo good--fresh veggies, perfect seasoning and flavor. You don't go to Pinedale Wyoming expecting great, authentic Chinese food. China Gourmet is a very pleasant, family run business that serves good, American style Chinese food. There are plenty of dishes on the menu, including traditional American food, like hamburgers. Something for everyone. The staff is very pleasant and the service is good. I ordered the cashew chicken.$11.95 on the dinner menu. It was way too heavy on the sauce, so much I could barely taste the food. If I went back, I'd ask for half the sauce. It comes with an ice-cream scoop sized portion of rice. Not enough rice to counter the heavy sauce and no refills were offered. If I were back in the area I'd probably go back, but for lunch, not dinner. By the way, they also serve wine and beer and the prices are reasonable. Although one might not expect a great Chinese restaurant in the middle of Wyoming this place is a gem! The service is friendly, prompt, and made us feel very welcomed and at home, even on a very busy Saturday evening! Food wise it ranked right up there with the most notable Chinese restaurants I've been to on both the east and west coasts. We ordered hot and sour soup to share and it arrived promptly, was excellent in its flavor and was full of strips of pork, egg, and bamboo shoots. It was spicy enough without being overpowering. We also ordered some egg rolls that were tasty but not spectacular. There was nothing wrong with them at all but they were not the hugely filled egg rolls some NY/east coast Chinese places offer. For entrees we had a Szechuan beef and a cashew chicken which were both served piping hot, very well seasoned, and delicious dishes. Each came with a bowl of steamed rice. The staff were quick to refill drinks, and were also able to answer any questions and eagerly accommodated requests to add vegetables to our meals. I absolutely recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a great lunch, dinner, or take out option. read more

We stopped in here for Chinese food on our road trip from Utah parks up to Wyoming parks. Being in a small Wyoming town and going for Chinese, we had limited our expectations. We were, however, pleasantly surprised, as the food was delicious! I had General Tsao's chcicken, which had a slight crisp to the outside breading, which I loved (not a soggy breading like others I've had). Also, the breading was just right with focus on the chicken (not the all breading style that other Chinese food over compensates with). Also, we had the crab rangoons, which were very good. They were a good size with a good amount of cream cheese. Maybe. Little light on crab, but still tasted good. And, lastly, the family that runs the restaurant were friendly and gave great service. They were on the run the whole time, as it was a full house when we were there. But, they were on it. Great surprise and one of the best stops for food of our road trip. This rating of 4.5 stars hits the spot. What a pleasant surprise that you can get good Chinese food in a small town in Wyoming. If I said you could get good Chinese food in the middle of nowhere, you'd say I was crazy. And yet here it is in Pinedale. A no frills place but solidly good tasting food. Quick and friendly service. Recommend the Special Combination. I thought I was just ordering one of the main dishes - beef w/ broccoli, chicken lo mein and sweet n sour pork, with egg roll, crab rangoon and ham fried rice - bit you get a decent sample of each. And they were all piping hot and freshly made to order. All were solidly good at a fair price. Definitely recommend for anyone staying or passing through Pinedale looking for a change from burgers and fries. read more

We showed up at this restaurant very close to closing time and they had no problem serving us. The restaurant was very clean and the host/waiter was very friendly. They have all the traditional dishes on their menu. We had General Tao's Chicken, Orange Chicken and a Sweet and Sour Chicken. They also had Calamari with Teriyaki Sauce, which was very good. Please do not go here if you are a vegetarian. First off, they seemed confused if something was/could be made vegetarian. We settled on two dishes that our server said was vegetarian. The lo-mein turned out to be the worst one I have ever eaten. I wonder how someone could go so wrong with lo-mein. Now about the other dish whose name now eludes me. It was served with oyster sauce on the side which had all my alarm bells ringing. Sure enough, it smelled of something non-vegetarian. Being a vegetarian since birth, you can say it by smell when something is not. It was heartbreaking to see one entire dish go a waste. read more

Had dinner at this lovely restaurant in downtown Pinedale. We had a large lunch so decided to split 2 meals between the 4 of us. The dinners are large and we were all happy with that decision. It's the only show in town so we go once every month or so and it's consistently average food. The staff isn't overly friendly nor efficient. You must constantly seek them out if you want something. They cater mostly to the western sensibilities meaning, sacrificing authenticity for the bland palette. Spicy is never spicy unless you ask for chili oil and add your own. The curries are watery even though the menu says "thick," and the prices are above average. Their quality of food would be better served on a buffet line which they do not offer. If they did, the place would have twice the business and we'd accept the dull service and menu more but for sit down, authentic Chinese, one must travel out of town to nearby Jackson Hole. Nothing horrible, but nothing to boast about. When you live in a town of less than 2,000, this is about as good as it gets. read more

Ate there last night with parents and nephew. We got the shared meal for 3, and we got more food than we could eat. It was tasty, and the place was clean, staff friendly. My mom is allergic to MSG and can testify that they did not use it there. Food came quickly and was well prepared, the appetizers were particularly good. Their hot and sour soup was excellent. Had Mongolian beef which was great, too. Everyone was full when we left, everyone liked the food. Would eat there again, definitely above average middle of America Chinese food. read more
