Me and my backpacking friends wandered in here after a multi-day trek through the Wind River Range and I can't think of a better place to have landed. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive to our requests and within minutes of walking in the door we were seated and sampling their collection of great beer. Unfortunately, before we could order a second round, a storm knocked out the power and we had to cut our trip short. The experience, however, was so good that we made sure to go back the following day for some amazing burgers and beer growlers before heading back to California. Server was fine (neither here nor there) but an 'off duty' employee sat down next to me at the bar and out of nowhere says to the bartender, "I wish my x husband would die" and no less than 5x says "he does something to me every month". Not real relaxing. Food was good and quick after ordering. Hmmmm, not sure what to make if this place. Lots of good things overcome by the folks that work there. So I'm giving Wind River Brewery 5 stars to try to bring up their 3. These guys are a solid 4 stars! Beer was amazing, burgers were creative and interesting, and the wasabi vinaigrette was delicious. The service was prompt and although the food took a few minutes, fast food is never good food, so I welcome the opportunity for some quality conversation around the table. My kids ordered some inventive burgers and the only drawback was that the hamburger patty was well done. Still, the flavor was there and the kids were happy and stuffed! Hubby got the beer brisket burger and it was fantastic. My side salad with wasabi was perfect and allowed me to sample everyone's burgers. This was a surprisingly good stop on our way to Jackson, WY. Prompt food but the service was terrible. We asked for water with our drinks and she didn't bring it. Our kids didn't get refills on their drinks and then we held up the check ready to pay for atleast 5 minutes before anyone noticed. Finally a different server took it for us. Macaroni and cheese was ok, good portion but it said nothing about spice and seasoning and it was very spicy. She did mention the "beer cheese" flavor so you'd think she would've mentioned the seasoning since it was for a child. We travel through here a lot and will not be coming back. read more

This is the best restaurant in town. I had a lovely arugula salad with beers and raspberries. I typed it off with rare steak (they cooked it perfectly) and it was gorgeous. This place has good food but the service is absolutely awful. Waited for over an hour for our food when all we ordered was burgers. Decided to give it a second chance and after we were seated at our table no waiter/waitress approached our table for 20 mins. We walked out. Will NOT be going back. I guess it's a running joke that when we exit the Colorado state line, microbrews seem to go downhill. I don't mean to sound snobbish, but CO knows full bodied, hoppy, delicious beers. So I shouldn't have been surprised when Wind River's beers were watery and lacked any flavor. We were on our way to Montana, and stopped around the Wind River range to sleep for the night. Starving, we quickly needed something to eat. Whenever we go somewhere new, we always want to try local food and beers- so we were excited Wind River was (pretty much the only thing) open. I'll deliver some good news first- the Prime Rib we both ordered was pretty good. Fresh horseradish and au jus hit the spot after driving for what seemed like forever. Now I'll break the bad news......After perusing the beer list, we decided to order the sampler so we could see what they had to offer..... I rarely leave beer in the taster, but these were so watery and had no body that I couldn't finish them. The mango tasted like overly flavored tropical juice concentrate- blech. I was so sad there were no IPA's- the bitter-er, the better! The hefe wasn't awful, but not as spicy as I would have liked. The stouts were okay at best. If we were ever back in the area and this was the only thing open, I suppose we would stop for a steak....and remember to bring a growler of good beer to enjoy afterwards in the hotel. read more

Excellent beer and hummus fueled us up. Great atmosphere as well. We tried two different beers from their huge selection. The bartender was patient and let us try a few before we made our pick. Would go back in a heartbeat if I was passing through and try a burger. Menu looked excellent. read more

We were recently in Pinedale for a week and ate here several times. Beers were very good and an interesting seasonal selection. We had the wings, chicken ceasar salad and burgers. Everything was top notch. Nice efficient service. It was our go to for a late dinner or lunch while we stayed in Pinedale. read more

Just like another review I saw, I think Colorado sets the standard for microbrews. We travel a lot and visit microbrews on vacation. The waiter here didn't know what a "flight" if beer is. That tells you something....... The service is very slow. Friendly, but slow. It's been 45 minutes and we have not gotten our food yet. Nice place, but slow. Husband is a home brewer and beer judge and is puzzled as to why these beers won awards. Beers are good, service was fantastic, food was not very good at all. I didn't wanna review this place based off my first visit only, but after my second visit I can confidently say that the food is not great. The first time I went I was more interested in beer than food so I ordered mozz sticks and most of them had been cooked so long that the cheese had leaked out in the fryer and the mozz sticks were empty inside. The second time I came I ordered the Egg Burger and the burger tasted overwhelming fishy. I'm not sure if they cooked it next to fish, stored it with fish, or pulled it out of an aquarium but the beef burger tasted like a salmon burger... It was very strange and off-putting. I was in Pinedale for work and stored in here for dinner on Friday night. It got pretty busy as dinner went on with people of all ages. The potato and device were vert nice. I had 2 pints of Sheppard's (wheat beer) and it had some lemony flavors, but not over powering. The black bean burger was dry, but on delicious local bread. Stopped here for dinner since this was pretty much the only place in the small town of Pinedale that was around where our hotel was. This is a good place to go with kids . The menu offered nothing special nor local. My son had the kids chicken strips which came with only 2 pieces of chicken. I know it's the kids menu but seriously 2 small chicken pieces is not enough for kids - 2 points Soup of the day(lentil and sausage ) was awesome - 4 points I had buffalo chicken (mediocre and non memorable)- 3 points My husband had the flat iron steak - he asked for it to be medium rare but it came as well done. My husband was there for the beer, and enjoyed his flight, I liked that I could just get a tasting size. I was there for the food, and highly recommend the ribeye sandwich, tender steak on a toasted baguette, with roasted red peppers and grilled onions, the blend of flavors was really tasty. It comes with your choice of sides, I got salad, husband got sweet potato fries that were served with a sweet BBQ dipping sauce, I could not stop stealing them. Excellent Food, Horrible Service. My first question is how does this waitress/bartender still work there? Her name is like Diedra, Diandra, or something. She is a blonde with lots of tattoos, kind of trashy ... kind of real trashy, not to be confused with the other blonde waitress/bartender who has only a few. My company does work in the area every year, hard and heavy fieldwork. So, we are thirsty. Last year, a female coworker apparently asks for some water and this lady grabs an old, half drunk, glass of water from another table that had not been cleared yet. It wasn't a joke, just a b*tch move. Horrible, service! This year, this same lady made us wait half-an-hour to take our order, and the place wasn't even busy or short staffed. When she brought our drink order, we emptied the water pitcher before she even left ... she finally refilled it twenty minutes after a request for another. When she brought the food, she mixed up the order, and got confused. Someone ordered a chicken sandwich and she thought it was turkey. He corrected her, "it is suppossed to be a bacon-chicken sandwich" and she lifted the bun up and handled the sandwich without gloves or clean hands from bar tending and said "yeah, whatever, it's got bacon". it took another twenty minutes after our meal to get her attention for our check ... we should have just walked out, like she cared. After a few requests, she brought the checks. We waited another twenty minutes for them to be picked up ... she never came. We signaled her and everything. Finally, after watching her take other orders, joke with regulars at the bar, and etc. my supervisor walked the checks up to her. She huffed and took them without a word, without an apology, or anything. When she returned the bills ... my coworkers all paid with credit cards and I paid with cash: she short-changed me a $5. I wasn't about to wait another hour for her to count the register down only to claim I must have been mistaken. Needless to say, that was her only tip from the table, when my $13 dinner turned into $18. So, a two hour meal because of bad service!!! She needs to be fired, to upright this sinking ship. Other than the service, the food was great. We ate there twice in our trip, we were going to find a different place if she was working. The first night I had a buffalo-style chicken sandwich with blue cheese crumbles and some of their beer battered fries. It was a great sandwich, great hot sauce (like Frank's Red Hot or similar) and a perfect match with the blue cheese. The chicken was moist and flavorful with the spices. The fries were awesome! The second night I had a brew master burger. The meat was dry, despite ordering it medium and it coming out medium. (Maybe it wasn't rested long enough in back, or was too lean of meat for a good burger, or cut into to check for doneness? Whatever the reason, it was too dry.) It wasn't a moist burger, which took what would have been a great burger down a notch. It was however flavorful and huge and good. I would recommend it, especially if it was kept moist next time. If you see the bad waitress, run; otherwise, enjoy the food. read more

Went here after the Green River Rzendevous pageant. We had beer sampler and shared a few appetizers with the kids. Food was so-so. Beer was very solid. I fell in love with the TKO - 12% of awesome goodness (I even bought a pint of it at a Cody brewery later in our trip). Lovely patio seating overlooking downtown. On a recent trip to Pinedale my husband and I ate at the Wind River Brewing Company. We aren't big fans of their beer but would say that they have a good selection for rural Wyoming. The staff were all super nice, but we were disappointed with their food. My husband got the ribs and after his first bite declared them too salty and not smoky enough. I got a burger that was over done and taste like a hockey puck. If I was in Pinedale again I might go back for the beer and might give the food another try. read more

We are residents for a good portion of the year a few miles from here. We came in to town for the rendevuox parade and activities. We had a reservation for lunch. Our group grew by two, so the staff decided to clean a different table for us. We sat for fifteen minutes before we were given menus or water. Meanwhile, another large group sat at what was going to be our table. Not only did they get service, their food and left long before us, a third group was seated, served and gone before we got our food and beverages. Much to the chagrin of my sweetheart, I got up and discussed the fact that it took ONE and ONE-HALF hours to get our food with the employees standing around a service area. I asked them what type of "comp" the management might be offering for this inexcusable delay of food and service. I heard apologies but no reason for what I consider the worst dining experience a restaurant could provide. If any restaurant cannot give proper service or even return to a table to ask how the food was meeting to their satisfaction or properly know who ordered what item from the menu, tell me, why are they in business? An employee in a position of decision-making did discount our bill. For our group of over ten people, I can give them a tip: Shut your doors. Try another line of business, You don't deserve to call yourselves a food service establishment. If Yelp would allow negative review numbers, I'd give this place a MINUS 3. Won't be back! And, I will strongly recommend to all I know and meet to avoid this place like the plague. Too bad, but it would be better to not have this business open than to do what they do here! read more
