I had a very disappointing experience at this office. I broke a tooth on Thursday night and called Friday morning to schedule an appointment. The earliest they could see me was Monday. When I arrived, they charged me $100 for an "exam." However, all that happened was this: the dentist briefly looked at my tooth for less than a minute. She did not clean it, did not examine it properly, did not perform any procedure. I had placed a temporary filling myself to protect the tooth, and she didn't even remove it to actually see the situation. Immediately after, without any proper evaluation, an assistant came in with a treatment plan of over $4,000 for a single tooth (root canal + crown). I found this outrageous since there was no real clinical examination to justify such a high estimate. When I questioned it and asked for my money back, they said they couldn't refund me because they had done an exam. What exam? Paying $100 just to have someone glance at my tooth for a minute and then push an overpriced treatment plan is unacceptable. I felt misled and disrespected. My husband had a Partial Denture done at Windermere Dental Group in February, 2023. He had to go to the office over 5 times for adjustments. it is 5 months now and the Partial Denture broke. He is still waiting for a call from this Office. The Office (Alex) never called in over a week. my husband went into the office. Alex took a picture of the broken Denture and My husband is still waiting on a call from Alex. They billed the Insurance for the partial Denture and billed my husband for the adjustments. my husband's Insurance covers Dentures only once (1) every five years. ,,,,VERY FRUSTRATED. read more

Initially I liked the dentist and the management. Unfortunately, the dentist did a poor job on a crown and it came off 3 times. Instead of admitting she did a poor job and redoing for free as my insurance only pays one crown every 5 years, Alex the manager had the audacity to tell me I needed to pay $850 to make a new crown. The dentist heard me venting to my husband on the phone and did not have the courage to charge the co-pay to grue the crown back. Do not go there!! Don't waist your money and trust. read more

This office must be one of the most unprofessional, uncaring dental offices in existence. I am continually appalled by the lack of concern or care from this office. In my experience, I have had my appointment cancelled on three occasions with a days noticed. I have prepaid for teeth whitening and since they already have the money, they continually refuse to give me the service that I have paid for. The office staff is uncaring and unwilling to see through a patients eyes and don't even try to help. Having taken multiple days off to have this service completed, they still have no caring toward giving me an appointment that I can rely on. Each new appointment is at least 3 to 4 weeks in the future, only to be cancelled the day before. I plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and suggest with anyone reading this review that you not allow this office to serve your dental needs. In 2014 after four years of being patients of Dr. Susana Moncada, we decided to change dentist. The last service that we received was a crown that she tried twice to make it right but that was never accomplished. Even though we paid in full for this service the office manager was very reluctant to do the right thing and complete the crown service, as it should be since the beginning. We paid in full for something that never was performed correctly, so even we have a positive balance in their billing system we decided to look for a new dentist. Last month in October of 2016, after two years of not having any communication from Dr. Moncada, I received a bill. I sent a letter to her explaining that probably someone in her management system was trying to make a fraud and she was not aware of it. It look like a fake invoice because does not specify the service, the date of the service or the patient. Another fact that makes me think this is a scam is, how is possible that the billing system does not identify any remaining balance for a period over two years? I noticed that in the Better Business Bureau this dentist office have experienced similar problems with the billing system in the past. I asked her for a response to my letter and I mentioned that I will appreciate if the answer only comes from her because I don't want to discuss this topic with any of her employees because they have already showed in the past lack of professionalism and customer service and by the way, that was another factor that contribute to our decision of changing our family dentist. What I received this month from her, November 2016, was the same bill but with late fees. So I filled a complaint in the Better Business Bureau so they can act as intermediaries. read more

Let this be your 2014 warning about Windemere Dental Group.... On Thursday 4/10/2014 Dr. Maconda drilled and removed the nerve on a tooth that I did not come in to have treated!!! I scheduled an appointment to have a tooth looked at in the back of my mouth that had been breaking down for a few months. When I arrived I was told that she was very busy and that she needed to get started. She applied OVER 4 INJECTIONS OF NOVACANE in my gums and my jaw. Once I was numb she began to drill in the area of where my pain was. My last oral xrays were from 2011. Dr Maconda did not bother to take new full mouth xrays to address the issue prior to begining my procedure!!! She began working on something that was not giving me problems!!! She indeed was working on the right side of my mouth but was working on a tooth that was not giving me ANY problems!! When she realized that my pain was abnormally severe in the middle of drilling SHE TOOK AN XRAY!! AFTER SHE ALREADY BEGAN DESTROYING MY TOOTH! It wasnt until the drugs wore off that I realized my issue WAS NOT fixed. Don't EVEN THINK about calling her to let her know that she made a mistake!!! She will tell you that it is your fault, that her front office team is not competant enough to know what they are scheduiling, she will yell at you and hang up the phone in your face!! I am reporting her for negligence. Dr Maconda has worked on 2 root canals for me and I have never had ANY issues with her quality of service or her knowledge which is why I would have never questioned her expertise.... until now! I have no words to describe how unhappy I am with Suzana Mancada's clinic! Went there to extract my wisdom teeth, they knew I was there for that and only that reason! They made me do an initial exam that cost me 47 dollars which I was ok with if it was to resolve my problem. In the exam an unexperienced treinee came to take x ray from my mouth, left me bleeding and could not get to my wisdom teeth and x ray it. Doctor Suzana Moncada came in, analized my mouth told me I had cavities to fill, cleanjng to do and recomended me to another doctor to do my wisdom teeth! Gave me a bill of $1000 dollars if i wanted to fix the cavities and cleaning and DID NOT solve the only problem I went there for! WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! I purchased a LivingSocial deal for x-rays, cleaning and 1 hour laser whitening in April. I went in to redeem my deal in June. I was seen at 11 AM for my consultation and X-rays that were scheduled for 10 AM. They were an hour late and did not seem to care. When the technician was actually taking x-rays it didn't seem like he had any idea as to what he was doing-the machine bounced around and for sure was not still enough to take an accurate x-ray. He said it was his first day. The "Dr." came in and said everything looked great in reference to my x-rays. He poked around at my teeth and made me bleed everywhere. Then he told me I was good to go for my next appointment (cleaning and whitening). I asked to see my x-rays and they wouldn't show them to me. I asked for a copy of them and they said it would cost me $100. Wasn't that supposed to be part of the deal? So I scheduled my next appointment. I would be seen almost a month later for my cleaning followed by my whitening.. one appointment after the other. I got a confirmation phone call on Monday and then I called to confirm again on Tuesday- just to double check the time. The day before my appointment I was told that things had been moved around and they couldn't see me for the whitening because they had other patients to see. I was confused I had scheduled this appointment a month earlier and confirmed this appointment twice. The girl on the phone (Cory, who was very nice and I felt really bad that she has to work for these people) had to make excuses as to why they couldn't see me and then after back and forth phone calls they confirmed an appointment for me next Monday or Tuesday- said they were wide open both days. Again, cleaning followed by whitening I selected Tuesday. Then today another phone call in regards to my Tuesday appointments. The Doctor is saying now that they are not taking anyone for a cleaning followed by whitening. I would have to come in for separate appointments. So I suggested I come in Monday for the cleaning and Tuesday for the whitening. Well- all of a sudden they were booked all day Monday. Oddly enough- there are no Whitening appointments available for months. I have had it. I called living social and told them of my strange experience and they told me that this Windemere dental group livingsocial deal was already under investigation because they have had tons of reports of this being a scam. I'm so unhappy now with my teeth! My jaw feels like it closes too much and like I have an overbite. When I close my mouth, I bite my cheek. I've decided to change dentists due to recent experiences at this office. All the staff is polite and friendly as well as Dr. Moncada, however, I don't feel confident about experience and competence. I had fillings done last month ( I wasn't numbed enough for one of the fillings, yikes!!! It's the most unique pain if you've never experienced this...) and was having issues with my bite adjustment on a lower, left molar. I returned twice to have it adjusted. I waited two weeks and called to report that I was still having pain when chewing and also sensitivity to heat and cold. Bite tests were done again, and x-ray was done on the tooth, and the solution on my third visit was to grind down the upper back tooth on the left side....grind down half of it. When I feel that tooth with my tongue now it feels totally smooth, no texture to it...on the inside half and since it was just ground down, it created a crevice, a hooked crevice on the tooth where food can potentially get stuck and cause cavities. I can feel it with my fingernail...i can hook my nail into that crevice. I'm not a dentist, granted, but was this the only solution? It seems sloppy. Kind of like cheating. And it feels weird to me now, to have half a tooth normal and the other half rounded down, quite shorter than the back tooth on the other side of my mouth. I feel like my speech has been affected, almost like I have a lisp when I talk now because of the ground down tooth. I think Dr. Moncada just wanted to do something, ANYTHING, to fix my high bite, even if it meant filing down two healthy teeth. I've read that this can cause TMJ in the future. I'm just so unhappy. I wish I'd kept my cavities. Let this be a lesson to do your homework on doctor selection, get referrals. Hopefully, my new dentist will enlighten me on whether this was done correctly or not. read more

I wouldn't even give 1 star to this place. Awful place. Will never go there again. After a year I got a bill and called them to ask for this bill and they said they were going to take it to collections. Obviously the billing department sucks, while they were calling me for this whole year to just ask me to make an appointment and never they did mention anything that i i had this balance with them. I had a Living Social Deal for $99 for Exam, X Ray, Cleaning and and hour Whitening. What I desired most was the whitening but thought okay I'm getting a bonus of the x ray and cleaning so I will save on the cost of that for my next dental visit to my own dentist. I saw my own dentist approx 4 months ago and he said my teeth looked great and didn't need anything doing. The Windermere Dental group dentist examined my teeth and said I'd need $6,500 worth of treatment before I could have the whitening done!! I highly recommend this windermere dental group in hiawassee. dentist. Dr. moncada did an amazing job on my teeth. i couldn't ask for better results. i have been wearing braces for around 2y and a half and trust me finding a great dentist that i can trust with my teeth was not an easy task. The staff is very friendly and professional, especially Cindy :-). the other thing i like is the punctuality. Whenever i go there i get called at my appointment time or sometimes even earlier. Dr moncada is very professional . no matter how many questions i ask, which are many, she answers them kindly and gives me a lot of details about my case . Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. This dental group makes that saying resonate as gospel truth. They are great at manipulating people and wasting their time. Let's start with the offer they made through Living Social (with which I have no quarrel and have obtained great deals in the past): 1- Offer: Tooth cleaning, full dental X-rays and a 1 hour whitening session. What they actually deliver is a far different story when it comes to service. First, they separate the services into three different office visits. Since I purchased two packages, one for my wife and one for may self, this meant making six different trips. Oh, did I forget to mention that they were so booked up that they could not see both of us on the same day. Guess what else, the appointments were scheduled 90 days into the future, and then confirmed two days prior and cancelled one day before they were to take place. Let's not sell them short on imagination, they managed to do this for both of us on separate dates. By the way the new appointments offered were 45 days into the future, and guess what, all six dates had to be rescheduled. Their logic was bullet proof, the Dr. can't see the X-rays and the technician perform the tooth cleaning on the same day because they are too overbooked due to the wonderful response to their special offer. Needless to say, my wife and I were not going to take up the risky tooth whitening part of the deal due to our concerns with experience level of the dental staff. As far as we could find, the dentists are a husband and wife team that performs what appears to be every specialty practiced by dentists. In our experience with reputable and conscientious dentists, they refer patients needing specialty services to other professionals dealing exclusively with those procedures. Just take a look at their website for an understanding of what I am referring to. Last, but not least, the total lack any semblance of professionalism in their customer service area is the crowning jewel of this office. When you call in and get an answering machine that says "leave a message" it states that call was received outside of working hours, but it never states what those working hours are. I have called numerous times and received this message between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm during weekdays. When you do reach someone the only thing they seem to be able to due is to reschedule your appointment. Anyone who has read this far, I am sure, does not need any more warning. If it is too good to be true, then it probably is. The Windemere Dental Group sure does live up to this saying with flying colors. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Moncada for the past 2 years and I think she's absolutely wonderful. I've had one Porcelain Crown done by her and numerous cleanings. She's very careful and meticulous with all of her work, and every procedure has been completely pain free.
