In that time, we've purchased bikes, boots, sleds, ski pants, and lots of other accessories, rented and repaired skis, enjoyed some friendly conversations with the owners and their staff, and scratched behind the ears of the shop dogs (Rest in Peace, Ritalin!). Nick and Lori, the owners, never rest on their laurels. They are always expanding and innovating in response to the changing and growing needs of their customers and the community. Love to ski/ snowboard for the winter season. If you looking to hit the slopes on Windham Mountain this is such a great place to get your rentals. You can purchase online for rentals because that'll save you some time because once you go in the store you'll have to complete forms online! The price is so much nicer than when your renting it from the mountains. you save about $20 per day and if your on the slopes for more than 1 day it definitely adds up. There was a mix up with my skis and someone took my skis by accident on the slopes and after contacting the people here they were really nice and understanding about the situation as I've brought the other person's skis back. The shop is on the way to the mountain which is even better and about like not even a 5 minute from from the shop to the mountain. Highly recommend and will return in the future. read more

The service here.............I felt like I was in the Zootopia scene where they're in the DMV trying to talk to the slooooooooow-mooooo slothssss. We went with a group of 6 and it took us almost an hour to get our ski/snowboard rentals. The first employee that was helping us seemed SO out of it, asking redundant questions and bringing us the wrong equipment. After a while, I think the other employees realized and started helping us a lot more efficiently and apologized for the wait. The actual store and the ski/snowboard equipment is pretty nice, the service was just ridiculously slow. read more

Giving these guys a bit of leeway here amidst COVID but after confirming my rentals a week in advance, we get to the store on a fairly busy Saturday morning and it was like they had two people for the entire store. The line for rentals was extremely long and the setup of how they were organizing it seemed a bit mismanaged. It took about 20-30 mins to get two pairs of skis and boots for a kid. Not sure if adding any more employees during the "morning rush" would help considering the space I think the lines could be managed a bit more efficiently. read more

Windham Mountain Outfitters is a great place to get seasonal rentals at a good price and to get your equipment tuned. The only major knock against them is that you outright can't buy winter sports equipment from them until after there is snow on the ground (its all mountain bikes til November.) Its unfortunate for folks who need new equipment to take out west when the mountains open in October that we have to shop elsewhere. read more

I had a fabulous experience here last week when my friends and I came up from the city to ski at Windham Mt. I was (and still am) a complete newbie so there were a few things I needed to purchase that I couldn't find in Brooklyn. Jessica helped me pick out my snow boots, long underwear, fancy schmancy yet oh so sumptuous Italian ski socks, and some goggles. When I inquired about goggles, she showed me their more inexpensive ones since it was my first time skiing and I didn't want to make too much of an investment in the sport without knowing if I would like it. I tried on several pairs, from $25 to $200 but I settled on a nice pair of Oakleys that provided good visibility and weren't too expensive since Windham was going to be making snow and I didn't want to be sprayed in the face while trying to learn how ski (and eventually snowboard, keep reading!) Made my purchases but on the way out noticed that they had rentals and were priced competitively ($15-$20 cheaper than Windham Mt) so I asked to be set up for skiing. And that's where the fun started! Since it was my first time ever, it was a doozy picking out boots that fit and didn't hurt like a mofo. I ended up renting boots, skis, poles, & a helmet for 2 days for roughly $50 whereas Windham Mt charges $41 for 1 day! Got all my shopping done, played with their lovely dog Ritalin, and was all set to ski the next day. Fast forward to the following morning to my ski lesson where my feet were in so much pain I could barely stand to do a pizza! We postponed my lesson so I could swap my boots and after a quick call to WMO they told me to come on in and sort things out. I ended up switching to snowboarding because my small yet wide feet couldn't handle how ski boots were supposed to fit! Went back to the mountain with my new boots and snowboard and I was in heaven! Snowboarding was so much easier (to me) than skiing so I was happy as a clam! Unfortunately we only got one day of boarding because the following day it rained like crazy :( BUT because of the rain, when I returned my gear the following morning I received a raincheck for a free day's worth of rentals! All in all, Windham Mountain Outfitters was a godsend to this atheist because they helped me navigate the confusing world of skiing and snowboarding but they never once were pushy or tried to get me to buy something I didn't need. I'll definitely be back this season to claim my day's worth of rentals! read more

Great rental place for Windham Mountain. Right down the road from the mountain. Like another person, they did not have my online form filled out, but admittedly, I filled it out 11PM the night before. They did have lots of pre-printed forms though, because they looked through them for mine. Regardless, they're not going to have your size because you're going to have to tell them how long of a ski you want and you're going to have to try on your boots. The process went quick. The lady at the front counter was classic, "friendly, but fast paced" and got through several customers at the same time and very quickly. The people in the back with the equipment were friendly and were working multiple people at once. Overall, there were two of us and we were in and out in 20 minutes. Overall, I will definitely go back to this place. Oh, and if you're looking to buy, they have demos. read more

BEWARE! I had recently bought a pair of used skis from a friend of mine and the skis were in great condition. The bindings were too short for my boot size so I took them to get re-binded to my size, I had asked if they could do it in 24 hours since I was leaving the mountain the next day and they said sure we can do it. Apparently the shop owner had a bunch of work for that night and in an attempt to get stuff done quickly my bindings were drilled improperly and now I have dimples on the bases of both of my skis. To re-bind and sharpen and wax was supposed to be $100. The owner said he would not charge me because it wasn't a great job. Mind you I have been reading a lot of mixed reviews about whether this is a problem or not. I am just upset that my skis now have imperfections and that will definitely affect the resale value. I would have much rather them not do it and told me sorry we were to busy and didn't want to do a rush/crappy job and so have had the opportunity of getting it done correctly at a later time. I even told him, I have another pair so it would have not been the end of the world if they didn't do them. Either way, I saved $100 bucks but somewhat butchered my skis. I would take my ski repairs, installs, maintenance somewhere else. read more

Would leave no stars if I could. Never before have I rented a broken bike (two flats in 15', same wheel and riding on asphalt) and had the manager renege on his promise of a refund just to get me back into the store. Despite all employees privately telling me I was right, the manager (Saturday afternoon) insulted me, told me I was looking not to pay for a flat tire and pretty much asked me to leave. Don't even consider it!!! These people are the worst. Filled out the online to "reserve" my rental equipment trying to save time. From their site it says "Use our easy online rental form to speed up the rental process and have your equipment ready for you to pick up!" This is so far from a true statement that it isn't funny. Not only did I have to wait in the same line as people who did not complete the form, there was absolutely nothing "ready" for me. I don't appreciate being lied to and I don't like people stealing my time. It took so long I didn't even want to look at their gear but the people in our group waiting on us said it was overpriced. Poor service and little choice of rentals. Purchased a high performance ski rental package. They did not have any performance boot in my size and the skis were basic. You pay before you see the equipment. Asked for a refund of the difference between the regular package and the high performance package but they refused. terrible customer service. I've rented performance package in Colorado and the Alps and have always been satisfied but this retailer is not up to standard. Avoid. read more

An absolute pleasure doing business here! Nick, the owner and his friendly coworkers treat you like family! Before our trip I called to ask some questions and was given very informative information that helped with our trip. I asked about reservations and was told to simply fill out the online form for each person in your party, so we have your information when you arrive. Simple as that, I was done in less than 5 minutes! A few days later, we arrived in Windham and went to pick up our equipment that evening. I was told we could come in any time after 6pm. What a fun time! My kids had the royal treatment of boot sizing and board fittings. My husband and I also had help with some hints and tricks for easy on and off of our ski boots...it's been a while. We had a truly wonderful experience here and will DEFINITELY go back! read more

I bought a snowboard jacket from here recently. I had the jacket for a matter of days before I realized it had a hole in a pocket and a smell of mildew. I went back to the store to exchange it for another one but they didn't have my size in anything similar or in anything close to the already heavily marked up price range. The employee told me he could not give me my money back and could only offer me a fraction of the price to refund as they admittedly sold me defective merchandise. I took what I could get from the rigid employee and am now stuck with a stinky defective jacket. AVOID PURCHASING FROM HERE AT ALL COSTS!!! If I could leave 0 starts, I would I rented boots from these guys for 2 days; they have the cheapest, most uncomfortable ski boots I ever wore. I paid for a 2 day rental, and popped my nail at the end of the 1st day because of the crappy, uncomfortable boots. Upon return (at 5:37PM) of that same day, I asked if I could return the boots for a refund. They said that it is not possible since the rental closes at 5PM (mind you there were still workers behind the rental counter). I proceeded to explain my situation and the reason that my nail popped was because of how worn these Dalbello boots were. They said that there is nothing they can do and they won't issue a refund. At the same time, there was a couple that rented their skiis/boots for a day and returned them at the same time I arrived. So if I would have paid for one day, and still arrived 37 minutes later, they would not have done anything, but since they already charged me for the 2nd day, they conveniently decided to keep it. The woman (who appeared to be the owner's wife or a manager) started yelling at me and my girlfriend and told us to get out. I was shocked. I have never received a more unprofessional and rude service. Terrible customer service. Worn, crappy equipment. Never in my life will I step foot in this store. read more

Two very good reasons to avoid this place. While the people were friendly, the bungled my kids' bindings and had my 4-yr old on my 7 yr old's skis. So then had to schlep back and have them fix that. No apologies but whatever. The next day we realized two days was plenty so came back to return the skis a day early. Sure no problem they say, we can give you a rain check. Huh, $100 later and no refund. Ok. So I ask if I could at least get a store credit? This is a long way from home and who knows when or if we'll be back. Nope, store policy, they say. Now I have a piece of paper to keep track of for a year? That's BS. read more

I have been here for Biking equipment in the summer and Skiing equipment in the winter. They are very knowledgeable in both and have always had what I needed and they could do a repair on both bike and skis/snowboard at a great price.
