What a magnificent end to my first visit to Burlington! I had been staying in an Airbnb in Old North End and was super pleased with all the restaurant options in the neighborhood. For my final night in Burlington, I decided to treat myself to a nice meal at May Day! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just a short walk from my Airbnb, I arrived to a beautifully decorated restaurant, front windows open, lots of space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I sat at the bar like I usually do for solo dining, and had a great time chatting with the bartender during my meal. He helped me pick a few yummy drinks as well. The menu is small, which I love - but everything sounded so delicious it was still hard to choose! Decided to go all in and get the steak frites! The plate was massive and the dish was plated beautifully. And THOSE GARLIC SCAPES!!! SWOOOOOOOOOOON!!! Everything about this dish was perfect. The steak was cooked to perfection, and so were the fries. And as a huge garlic lover, the garlic scapes were seriously incredible. If you want to treat yourself to a fantastic meal in Burlington, you def need to check this spot out!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the vibe. The atmosphere is mellow and chill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got there before the crowd came in, I do think they raise the volume on the music as more people come in but it wasn't overwhelming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was so good. The attention to detail and the staff have quality as a high importance. I would definitely come back and have some fun drinks and food again

I was up here for a work conference, with a few colleagues, and my first time in Vermont and at May Day. The waiter was very helpful with suggesting food for us. I was really happy with how the food was plated and definitely very delicious. My steak came out with blue cheese, which I didn't order, but the waiter quickly came and fixed that up for me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was small.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was great. Definitely want to eat here again. Great staff. Make a reservation for a larger group.

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in Burlington and found May Day through Yelp reviews and are so glad we did! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We enjoyed the ambience, attentive service and delicious food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The steak tartare, ham and cheese tartine, steak frites, olive oil cake and homemade ice cream were all the best we've ever had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have never felt so comfortable and happy at a restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend.

We made a resy here and good thing we did cause it was packed! We started off with the deviled eggs as an app and they were a great way to start. For our entrees, we got the gnocchi and the steak frites. We really enjoyed both and the French fries were nice and crispy! Steak was cooked perfectly. Service was excellent as well!

Incredible service and a delicious dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a nice, relaxing experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to go back!

We ordered the rolls, tuna crudo, oysters, tagliatelle (2 orders) and a fish dish. Only the one fish dish was good. Everything else was fresh but not at all to our taste. Because the food was fresh, we rated it a 3 to be fair. Obviously a lot of people like it, so maybe check some of my other local reviews to see if our taste aligns, but I would not go here again. Not to mention that it was very expensive. For the above with a couple drinks was $315 including tip. And the portions are fairly small, so come hungry, leave broke and still hungry.

This was mainly due to the great service and delicious meals ordered by each of us in our family of three. Our table was never left waiting and the food was served hot. Our meal choices were varied, including apps such as steak tartar and cheddar ale soup for one and the meatloaf plate and the turkey burger for the others. Everything was made with original flavor additions such as homemade sauces, fresh breads, and unique use of herbs and spices. Lastly, I was told to mention that the hand cut fries were exceptional. Since we visit Burlington often, we look forward to returning to the Farmhouse to try other dishes on their menu or just ordering the same meals since they were so good. We all agreed that this restaurant has definately moved to the top of the list for our next trip to Vt.

The last time my bf and I went we ordered a special which was Dan Dan noodles with pork, the cheeseburger, and burrata with bruschetta to start. All of the food was full of flavor and fair portion size. Restaurant poco does not take reservations in advance. It's easier to get a seat in spring summer or fall when they open up their outdoor seating and so can host more guests. You have to go to put your name on the wait list regardless of the season and even in summertime with more seating it can be a 20-40min wait. They play good funky music which can sometimes be overwhelmingly loud inside (I.e. a jock jam will be playing at club volume level), that's one of my few complaints. You can be at a two person table and only a few feet away from your dinner date but not always hear them. This happens mostly just during the winter. Outdoor seating is nice with outdoor lights and easy to see and hear whomever you're dining with. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone as they always have great tasting food and good drinks. A little on the pricier side, but worth it.

Not the largest in quantity, but the tastiest. Pork Bolognese ($19) came with hand rolled pasta in a creamy tomato sauce with ground pork. Tuna tataki ($17) was a bit disappointing, sesame crusted and seared but extremely salty. Small plates, not the largest portions, but very cozy spot with friendly staff. Overall, not a bad choice for Burlington. Prices as expected compared to other spots in the area.
