I thought this was going to be a decent company to work for. I guess I was wrong....I got something in the mail that had a 35% off coupon so I was excited to call them up. Made an appointment which was pretty seamless. Jenna came out and helped me by showing all the different options and talking us through what could work. She also said that they would honor the coupon, guarantee the best price by matching any competitor, AND beat it by 5%. We were excited, so i did some price checking and found something lower. I had to wait a while to get a quote and even had to reach out myself because it was crickets after she left. Zero communication. I reached out 3 weeks later with a competitors price to match and she said she would send it to the office to match "apples for apples". I wait a couple of days and hear nothing. I reach out to Jenna and hear nothing. She finally gets back to me and says they can't match....with this explanation in my photo. I asked about it and got radio silence. I requested for someone to come out to my home to see if my window shades only need their batteries changed or if there's something else wrong with them. I was instructed to email a video of the window shades and shortly after sending it, I received an email my video was sent to their "support staff" for review. I didn't hear from them again. I called them yesterday, Aug 4th, for a follow up since the last correspondence from them was 2 weeks ago. Because of the "inconvenience" of waiting 2 weeks without a follow up, their customer service told me they can send someone to come in today, Saturday, August 5th between 10am-12 noon. I paid the $175 service fee over the phone and the appointment was made for Arthur to come by this morning. I've put everything on hold, cancelled a few appointments waiting for this Arthur to arrive. It is now 12:35 pm and no Arthur. I called their customer service number and all they did was take my name and address and told me they're sending my complaint to their repairs department. What good is that going to do?!! Some things never change. Their customer service is beyond awful! I want my money back from the service fee! read more

I could write a very long review of my SEVEN MONTH experience trying to get my windows and shutters from Window Design Group. Here is the abbreviated version, the review I wish I had read before deciding to go with this company. Beware. #1 - They will sell you timeframes that are not the truth. I was told 4-6 weeks for windows, 5-7 weeks for shutters. Ultimately, it took 14 1/2 weeks for my windows and 29 weeks for my shutters. They blame their vendors and the pandemic. However, I called several times during the past 7 months asking as a new customer and was ALWAYS quoted 4-6 weeks. Always. They will sell you one thing and then blame "unforeseen circumstances" even though they know the reality. #2 - Windows and shutters CANNOT go into production simultaneously. My salesman told me they could. They cannot. Do not fall for it. You will have to wait to get your windows installed to even measure for shutters. My salesman Kevin was great in a lot of ways making the sale, he did apologize for not knowing this detail...but the phone staff knew this detail so it was just very unfortunate. #3 - If you finance your purchase, that 12 month interest free window begins the day WDG takes out the first $1000 right after signing the contract. WDG staff told me it began when the job was completed -- EnerBank confirmed that is NOT true. Very important to avoid huge interest payments. WDG will not fund the rest of the loan until the job is complete -- meaning I couldn't make payments. 6 1/2 months in, EnerBank called me to ask me what was going on -- even they are realizing something is fishy with WDG. #4 - The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. It was a full time job advocating for myself trying to get the products WDG sold me. #5 - Customer service is horrendous. I could detail out so many conversations but Yelp cut off my longer review. You will chase WDG for any information or update. Tanya Bramson, the general manager and quoted as the "highest person" a lowly customer can speak with...I felt utterly defeated and even gaslit and offended by her "customer service." She made me feel like items thrown into the sale by salesman Kevin were items I was stealing. All my other renovation work was impacted by the pandemic, but those companies proactively communicated and actually had customer service. WDG is the anomaly -- this experience has been exhausting and frustrating. It's been disheartening to realize that there's actually nothing to be done, no one to appeal to for help, because this is the company culture and there is genuinely no concern to do any better. Cindy Patai, the CEO according to the internet, is unreachable -- Tanya says all Cindy's communication goes through her. Convenient #6 - You will likely have some issues with the install of the products. I had a window that was misaligned and difficult to close. A patio slider screen door that wasn't tightened properly so it would slip and lock me out of the house. A footlock that took two different repairman visits and an hour the second time to get to work properly. A patio slider glass door that was so difficult to close -- Tanya told me I didn't know how to use a door, but she'd have someone come out....then she told me they found nothing. However, a piece of plastic that had been attached within the frame had been removed-- THAT is what I mean by gaslighting. If you have issues, it will usually take a week to two to get a repairman out. #7 - They do not care about your time. In the macro sense (a 5-7 week job becoming 29 weeks) and in the mircro sense -- a repair service window entirely changed mere hours before, despite being scheduled over a week ahead of time. I called and WDG told me they realized this route was more convenient for them -- I explained that I had scheduled my workday around this meeting, but they could not have cared less. I had to miss two meetings last minute, not at all a good look but WDG has no regard or respect for anyone else's time or life. If you had told me in October that I would be fully vaccinated from COVID before my windows and shutters were installed, I never would've believed you. If you had told me the rest of the renovation work on my condo would be done before this job -- the FIRST job I signed a contract on -- I would've never believed you. But it's true, when working with Window Design Group! The windows (once properly aligned) & shutters seem to be good quality-- but you should just genuinely ask yourself if you want to work with this company since the actual product can be bought from many different companies. Lastly, only after EnerBank asked me what was going on and if I wanted to file a complaint did WDG seek some sort of "resolution" -- that being that they canceled my loan, ran my credit again and restarted the 12 months with a new loan. I do appreciate that since I was 7 months into my 12 months unable to make payments until they finished the job. I hope this review helps others. read more

I was excited to have my blackout shades installed as I'm in a rapid response job with extended hours and sleep is very important to me. But, only after six months, they are starting to fray. (I included a photo) I've called and emailed and they simply do not respond. I'm so upset as I spent my hard earned money on these shades and they are already starting to fall apart. They promise you the world but when it comes down to any problems or responsive customer service, they disappear. Lots of delay, waited months for them to install the shutters and shades. They had one shutter with the wrong measurement and one roll up shades defective. Now after 2 weeks, the roll up shade in my kitchen window is defective (won't go all the way up). Called the 1-800 number twice, left them a message and nobody returned my calls. I guess it's hard to get a hold of them to report issues like this. They don't follow up after the installation. I called them myself to report that the job wasn't completed. No apologies for the inconvenience from the company.. Bad customer service. I do not recommend this company at all. Not happy with the overall service. Thumbs down! read more

THEY LIE and sell you something and then when you get a defective product they blame it on the manufacturer and won't do anything to fix it except to ask you for more money to buy something else. They tell you to write in your issue and then that just comes back with some terrible response that is unclear and the only solution they offer is to spend thousands of more dollars with them. Out of no where literally just fell off the wall. THATS the quality this company provides. This is what my window looks like now, so the installation was obviously not done professionally. They literally cut pieces out of the existing window frame, my wall/window did not look like this before the job was done. I don't even want to have them come and fix it, going to use a new company. We got our custom windows within a few weeks and everything was perfectly installed. We were so happy with their work, their professionalism and their quality that we decided to get shutters from them as well... let me say- As an interior designer I've seen many types of shutters of varying quality, and these are top notch! I started with this group on October 12th. They schedule, reschedule and twice now, simply not shown up without any communication to me. I've expressed my concerns, asked to speak to a manager twice yet have never received a call back from management. My blinds were finally measured on 11/7 and on 11/28 after not hearing from anyone, I called and was told the blinds had arrived and were being logged in at the warehouse. 'You'll receive a call by end of week'. A week later, no call. Called back and was told 'You'll receive a call by end of week'. A week later, no call. Called back 12/17. A lot of 'I'm sorries' and excuses, way too many. Scheduled install for 12/20. 12/19 received an automated call (after hours) changing the time for installation on 12/20. Called first thing next day at 9am and explained that I had scheduled my day around the 12-2 appt and asked why they did not speak to me before changing my appointment first? They put me back on for 12-2pm. At 3pm I call to see what's up? I'm told they need to reschedule for tomorrow afternoon. I now have to take another afternoon off. I'm rescheduled for 12/21. I ask to speak to a manager. I'm told the manager will call me back after her conference call. No call back. Finally had them installed, and while they look nice, I'm not sure I'd use this company again. Clearly my concerns and my time meant NOTHING to them. Worst company I have ever dealt with. I hired them back in August of 2019 to install windows for my main house and my guest house. Since the beginning they showed a lack of care. I can't remember a time they kept their word on anything they scheduled from appointments to come to do the work to calling me when they said they would. They ordered the wrong size windows 3 times. They sent unprofessional workers that used foul language in front of my kids when they addressed each other. They weren't able to be able to do simple retrofit installation. One of the windows they installed leaked water when it rained. They all let in an excessive amount of dirt in. After trying to deal with them for over a year and them refusing to do the work correct (and having Chris the VP of sales and grandson of the owners come to my house and raise his voice at me to the point my son had to come out because he wan concerned for me) I decided to file a dispute with greensky (the company they got me a loan with). Greensky determined that WDG didn't deserve a penny and took all the money back. Be careful with their contract. They don't commit to a time frame to complete the job and when you complain after a year they tell you their contract allows them to do it when ever the can. They also have to charge the money ahead of time, not how they specify in their own contract. Window design group determined all the windows they installed at my house were defective. This was made possible because their VP of installation Eli cheats their window manufacturer. Eli told me in order for them to be able to put the claim through he would pick up some dirt from the outside of my house and put it in the rails of the windows. They lie and cheat. I received a call from the owner Cindi to try and resolve this, but all they care about is how can they collect their money. She has threatened me with a law suit and liens on my house. They are so pathetic at customer service! I have everything documented and have pictures. If they want to go to court im ready I will ask to get the money I had to pay another company to fix the frames to avoid the rain damaging my house since WDG didn't care. WDG if you want to keep going I will also contact your window manufacturer so they keep in mind if they want to deal with liars. If you are looking for a company, stay away from window design group. Keep in mind I haven't gone over not even half of the things I had to go through with this company. read more

I was looking for a window company to replace all of the windows in a home I had recently purchased. The entire process was very smooth. The estimator showed up right on time. She did a good job of explaining their process and product offering without any hard sell or pressure tactics. I received a clear written estimate within a few days. After I placed my order, they returned to take final measurements. I had 12 windows and 2 sliding doors replaced and other than the obvious look of the windows being a lot better than the original doors and windows, I immediately noticed the lack of drafts on the cooler days and the outside noise being greatly diminished. They said the contract allows for delays. And they will not refund my money. So I am trapped. I emailed with my sales rep who said to call support. I called support and it went to voicemail. These people are a complete fraud. Several shutters came too small, which I understand and that happens, but they were 6 weeks late with the order. The installers left a mess in my home after the two-day install...screws on the floors, little wood fillings and pieces from drilling on every window ledge, scratches my hardwood floors...and they didn't even finish installing the blinds on one window and just left them on the floor. I tried multiple times to discuss the issue but they were rude. They kept wanting to "resolve it" but sending the same people back who damaged my home and disrespected my space. I had to go with another company to complete the job and then they fought with me instead of simply issuing a credit for the ones that never got installed and were mis-measured. To their credit the blinds and shutters are good quality and do look nice, and that's why I have them 1 star instead of zero. Do not hire these people.
