So I've had a long-term relationship with WDG. It first started about eight or so years ago when I installed replacement bedroom windows. Each year over the course of the next several years, I gradually replaced windows and patio doors from the 70s. Finally, I was able to complete the last remnant of a multi year, eight phase project. .... as you all know, these things take time. WDG---the representatives, sales people, measurement crew, installers, schedulers, etc...the whole team have been nothing short of spectacular and accommodating. They have always tried their best to give me a fair deal even amid these high inflationary times. They always took great care in speaking with me and answering questions. After reading the reviews here (not just Google), I noticed many people have raised concerns about this company -- especially regarding customer service. Unfortunately, my experience confirmed those concerns. I was originally scheduled for a consultation with Justin. At the last minute, I received a text from someone else asking me to move the appointment to an earlier time. I thought I was accommodating a different person, but then I was told the schedule had been changed back to Justin. There was clearly poor internal communication, and I was caught in the middle. I felt pressured to accept a time that didn't work for me. I was told that if I didn't take that time slot, I wouldn't be able to have a consultation at all. That felt unprofessional and unfair. I have all the text message communication to support this. What stood out the most was being told that I had to call the company to reschedule, instead of the company fixing a scheduling issue they created themselves. That's not good customer service. Based on my experience, this was not a five-star experience. I recommend others keep in mind that there are many other businesses that communicate clearly and respect your time. read more

Worse Compsny ever! Do not order from them. The owners are awful and unprofessional. They did shades for one of our homes and it was a total nightmare! As you are aware, we have had a third party inspection done of your installation and photos are attached here showing the following sub standard work and quality performed by WDG installers. * Broken motor with screw through the large motor at the master bedroom second to last shade on main window wall. This is the same shade that fell off the roller and would not roll up and down with the others when the one channel remote was being used. See photo of screw that at install missed the wall and went into motor. This is why the motor failed and the shade never operated properly. Below is just a few things found after install. Really unprofessional. The fabric on the same shade was damaged from Horizon and still installed by WDG. It wasn't until the shade fell off the roller that the damage was visible to clients but certainly visible at installation. * Two of the shades in the master are not properly attached to the rods with any adequate adhesive and there was no double tape. These were bound to fail. * One small shade does not really match rest. Looks like a handmade in shop shade very poor quality! This should be replaced and made to match the other shades by Horizon. * Additionally, there were many misdrilled screw holes punched into the homeowners walls indicating that the installers did not properly measure (measure twice. Cut once as we say in the building business) * There are missing screws which pose a safety hazard as these shades are directly above points of egress/ingress. Little care was given by installers in this matter. * There are several crooked brackets and brackets installed backwards with shades that rolled in the wrong direction. . The remote sensors were installed by your team backwards. They had to be removed and reinstalled forward to make the operate! read more

I do not recommend this company! We had a new sliding glass door to our backyard installed by them 2 years ago. Recently with the rain, we woke up with a huge puddle of water inside our living room that has already seeped into the carpet and underneath the couch. It was a hassle getting anybody to respond, with them finally claiming my emails went to spam. Then they said the caulking needs to be redone. They would charge us $275! First of all, the caulking on a new sliding glass door should last 5-10 years. With high-quality silicone, which is best for exterior doors, lasting 7-10+ years. The fact that we had it installed only 2 years ago and already have this issue means it wasn't done properly. And the recaulking, if done professionally, should only cost $40-$100. Needless to say, we won't be using Window Design Group anymore for any future projects. read more

Last week was the second time we have used Window Design Group to install shutters in our house. They did a good job of installing the shutters, but the next day I noticed they had left a big pile of the old blinds and hardware off to the side in our back yard. Last time they removed all of the old window coverings and we expected them to do the same this time. As a repeat customer I called the office and was told they had a new policy of not removing old items. It may seem like a small detail, but if we knew of this new policy it may have changed our decision. I would pay extra to have the old stuff removed, but now I have to deal with this stuff. I had window design install all my windows in 2019. Last year in 2025 two of the stationary windows that were installed by their installers had a Leakey seal coming through. When I contacted the company they let me know that the windows were guaranteed for life, but I'd have to pay for installation. I went ahead and placed the order,it took over 2 months to get because they ordered the wrong window..Finally I got the windows installed in December of 2025 . Now in May 2026 both of those same windows are doing the same thing (Leakey seal) When I contacted the the representative she was very nice and her follow up was great however she did let me know that I would have to pay for installation and they were willing to go to $225 instead of $275. I was amazed that they wanted to charge me for installation of the windows that were only five months old. She told me I could do a claim and I contacted the actual Manufacture, which I did call them, they were surprised that I was charged for installation. The first time I paid for the installation I figured it was five years (which it shouldn't have happened in five years) but I went ahead and paid 275 for each window installed, but now it's been less than six months for some reason it's doing the same thing ( a leakey seal ) I left a message last Friday to speak to the VP and I've also left a message today (they use AI)Thus far I have not heard anything back. I always look at a company for what they do when they do the work but how they react when there's a concern ? I believe that I should have a phone call back and so far nothing has happened. I am very disappointed with the Lack of customer service . If I don't hear from them I'm going to put a complaint into Better Business Bureau .I wanted to address that the installers that they hire are not doing an adequate job since I shouldn't have this problem five months later, and then beyond that they want to charge me again .I always give people another chance, but at this point, I'm holding my breath. This should be taken care of by them considering the amount of time. I am very disappointed and hope we can resolve this. read more

The product is great, second home I bought using WDG. Unfortunately my second purchase wasn't so great. I specifically requested a two panel as before and didn't realize that one if the rooms was measured for single panel. I tried to get this resolved but the rep had left the company. I was told it would be full price if I wanted it replaced. I wasnt happy, and I do take some accountability that I didnt verify that what was requested was not what I wanted. He then asked if I already had the windows and I told him yes, to which he rudely replied, "then I cant help you" and hung up. Bad customer service on the first call. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY The only good part about this company was the sales representative Stephen, although he was sporadically available. The rest of this company does not know the meaning of the word customer service. If you have to talk to Tony, he will likely be inappropriate and hang up on you. Janet is about as effective as a wallflower. If you can avoid dealing with them, please do. Chris or Vincent or whoever in management is unreachable. DELIVERY WAS A MESS The delivery date of the door and windows repeatedly changed, which was allegedly due to Milgard merging warehouses, something which we were only made aware of on the 3rd rescheduling. Upon delivery of the window and first door, there was a manufacturing defect on the door. The DELIVERYMAN/INSTALLER unilaterally decided not to just install the window at least. We had to wait several days for them to bring back the window to DROP OFF because they did not have a timeslot for installation. Upon dropping off the window, my mother-in-law who was on site to handle the delivery and inspection was cursed out when she repeatedly tried to talk to the deliveryman. Two more months went by before they were able to deliver and install the doors. All in all, we were misquoted by Stephen as to the length of time that the custom doors would be ready, and berated by Tony. All this company did was cause anxiety and stress. Customer service is horrific, I have been trying to get my shutter fixed for a over 2 months. Send pictures I did. Not good enough. this has been going on for way too long First attempt to get my shutter fixed was July 2, 2025 Calling about every 7 to 10 days. No response. No time as to when it will be fixed. Said they sent email never received. Called asked them to type in e address as the thread will not work. Still no email. Now new pictures sent. After a ten thousand dollar order with life time warrenty I feel this needs to get an F for service. read more

After 26 years my home needed a make over and window design group answered the call and I couldn't be happier. They took out three windows and put in a stacking door off my kitchen to my backyard and it's an absolute game changer. They changed out every door and window in my home, I got beautiful new shutters, automated shades, room darkening shades in bedrooms and WOW what a difference, not only aesthetically speaking, but my ac bill has dramatically dropped!! With this heat wave and my two story house I was running my ac 24/7. With my windows, shutters, and shades closed that is a thing of the past. I purchased shutters from Window Design Group. Unfortunately, the two sets of shutters do not match each other, as I had ordered. Since they are right next to each other and in a small space, the shutters do not look right together. It looks like one set of shutters is upside down. The Window Design Group refuses to correct them. They were not helpful and instead blamed me for not telling them the specific measurements that they should use for the components of the shutters. I'm not sure how I would know each component of their shutters, or how to measure that, but that is their position. It is disappointing that this company does not stand behind their products. read more

Do not trust Window Design Group to do the right thing. It has been 5 months since we first reached out to them, and to this day our shutters have not been completely installed, nor our concerns addressed. After the initial consultation and deposit, we were left with no communication whatsoever for 2 months. On the day of the scheduled install, we found that two of the hutters were damaged upon arrival. These had to be reordered, led to another 4 week delay before another appointment was scheduled to complete the job. On the day of the scheduled installation, nobody showed up! I called to see what has happened, and was told that the appointment was cancelled. We were never notified of this cancellation, and nobody reached out to reschedule. We were told to speak to the office manager, Tanya about our concerns. The office staff said she was out to lunch and would call us back. Three hours later, we called back to follow up and she was still out at lunch. So we called two weeks later and the office staff told us that she was in a conference call. Never received a call back after several attempts. Awful customer service, never experienced such unprofessionalism. A project like this should not take nearly half a year to complete! If you're looking for a good, reputable company to do your window treatments, look elsewhere! read more

This was, without a doubt, one of the most unpleasurable transactions I have ever experienced. The salesman is a nice guy. However, once he gets his deposit, he is out of the picture. The only two people in that company to whom you can speak with work remotely. Janet often has her crying baby in the background. She makes it clear that she has no authority to help and that she only sets up installations, which are repeatedly delayed. You can speak with her supervisor, Tony, who is rude, unprofessional and has no problem hanging up on customers when they complain. When you speak with Tony and tell him that he cannot hang up on you, his response is "I will hang up on you if you keep going on and on". They advertise that they are a family business. I tried to get in touch with the owner, Cindy. No response. They are a vendor for Milgard who Tony and Janet threw Milgard under the bus, stating that they are at Milgard's mercy. As it turns out, I spoke to a Milgard representative. She read me the notes. Surprise! Tony lied about why the order was repeatedly delayed. GO ANYWHERE ELSE for your door and window needs. read more

I had consultant Rose come out. I am not sure how I feel about her. basically she told me the only options for my large sliding door is curtains or vertical shades. I showed her my current shades and how some had ripped and or spilt. They were hard to open and close. She told me her companies were better quality. My old shades used a wand to open, close and draw the shades open across the window. I stupidly just assumed I would get the same. After the installers complete,I was left with two separate cords hanging down the wall. One white cord drew the shades open or closed along the window. Another a long hanging metal beaded cord open and shut the shutters themselves. Not only does it look aesthetically unappealing, the metal cord and rope cord always get tangled against each other. Half of the blinds open one way and the other half open opposite. Because of this I can not open shades all the way along the sliding door. I have to manually turn 1/2 of the shades to make it work. They do not close all the way tight and leaves gaps along the way. I paid a big sum for these two custom window shades and I could not be any unhappier. I thought because they advertised hey are a family company I would get better customer service. I emailed their customer service my complaint and issue. I was told it was forwarded to their design Dept.4 days later, I was told the installer could come out in 3 weeks and shorten the metal cord and SHOW me how to use properly. I asked what if I am still unsatisfied? I was told I would have to contact the consultant and decide if I wanted to change to something else. So basically I get , if you don't like the big wad of money you paid for our product you may buy something else. I should. of kept the old ones. Thank goodness I didn't do the whole home. This company does not have quality products and they do not seem to care about the look of their product in your home. read more

Previously enjoyed working with this company - they did 75% of my windows and one of my patio sliders and were very responsive - that was over two years ago. Called them back to complete the balance with a second patio slider...All locations leaked after the first rain event - they did respond fairly quickly but when a second rain event revealed two of my windows were still leaking they responded with a five-seven minute water test and claimed they were no longer responsible for my leaking windows and that because they could not recreate the leak that it must be my problem now. PSA: Do not give this company your business. I met with VP of Window Design Group, Chris Margott in May. I immediately placed my order a few days later. After 2nd measurements were taken to ensure accuracy, I was assured my windows would be ready by the first week of July. Epic failure! Not only did they Not keep their word; they failed to communicate with me about any updates. I was the one who always initiated the communication. I was the one who always reached out to inquire about my windows. The phone calls I made to this business, their associates were not pleasant. I proceeded to communicate via email (I have many lengrhy emails). Finally, in the 2nd week of September I was scheduled for my installation. My windows arrived damaged. Additionally, my master bedroom window arrived without a screen! According to WDG, per their vendor, they would only make me half of a screen. Wow! Half of a screen when my windows open from either side. We are now in November, the 18th to be exact and they haven't even bothered to reach out to me with any update. I was promised all of these damages would be rectified. Furthermore, I took it upon myself and hired a mobile screen company make me a new screen for my missing master bedroom window. They delivered it immediately! This mobile screen company also repaired 2 of the (new) screens that came with each of my daughter's bedroom windows, which were quite loose fitting. Window Design Group sent me an email stating, per their management, they would reimburse me for the cost of the new screen to my master bedroom. But why would I submit for reimbursement, to have me wait another 5 months for a reimbursement check? No thank you! Never again will ai do business with Window Design Group! Very Expensive lesson learned! I learned long ago, anger speaks before the heart. I am no longer angry. Which is why I've waited until now to post my review. I am beyond disappointed. read more

I've never seen shutters as sloppy and ugly as these. 13k down the drain. After install I reached out to the owner who came to out house and did the sales pitch. He didn't even respond. The same louvre on one window has broken 2x even thought we hardly use it. They want $125 for the repair. WDG was okay. My biggest gripe with them is their customer service. We worked with Chris who introduced himself as a Vice President. After getting bids from several companies we ended up going with Chris as he discussed warranty and rebates that sounded great. He was very easy to get a hold of until we signed our paperwork. Once we signed he talked to us through someone named Tanya who was cordial. We ordered windows and a couple shutters. The estimated time for windows was about a month and then the shutters were to be made and installed about two months after that. We were promised a zero percent interest rate and then told it wasn't available. When we complained, they ended up getting us the rate for the time we wanted. It was pretty hard to schedule dates for the installs and they were rescheduled several times with different factors. The night before one of my installs, they called me and said that they did a final measure and now discovered that something was off and they needed a few more weeks... strange things like that. The installers left a ton of fingerprints all over our paint and window frames so heads up on that. They also didn't wear shoe covers which I thought was strange. After the windows were installed we could not get someone out to measure for the shutters for about another month which was very frustrating. The shutter install went well but again they left fingerprints on everything and did not wear shoe covers in our home. The shutter installer told us that one of their company storage trucks got stolen which is probably why there was such a delay and us getting everything. We also were never presented with different options for shutters and we assumed that they would have the middle bar like you see in a lot of the pictures (even on yelp) but apparently there's another kind of shutter that you just touch with your hand - so I recommend that you asked to see pictures or samples. The whole process took twice as long as we were told it would. Even though we were told about a rebate when we signed, we just found out it doesn't exist which is in line with the rest of the experience. After the installs no one ever checked in with us to make sure that they were done correctly or that we were happy. For $14k I would expect better service. read more
