We wired Window World of Boston to convert our 2nd floor kitchen casement windows into a bay window. We also had them replace a stairwell window and two bedroom windows. Tom from Window World did a great job explaining all the options and was able to match the color for our stairwell window nicely with a wood pattern veneer. The price was reasonable compared to other quotes. Tom and the team were responsive and helpful when we had questions or issues, and the windows all came out great in the end. read more

The entire process from the home visit to the completed window replacement was very positive. The salesman who came to my home was very clear and explained all of my options. He gave me a few options which was very helpful. The installers, Manny and Francis, did a fantastic job of removing the old windows, replacing with the premeasured vinyl windows and trimming out the windows. They swept inside the house where they worked and picked up all the trash outside, While I felt the quoted price was a bit higher than other replacement window companies, the quality of the windows was better than similar windows. Called to get a quote for replacing windows. The person seemed cordial and went through the scope of the project with me. Then unexpectedly asked if I was married.I asked if they were taking a census. After all what's that got to do with the price of windows? Said they need that information for their files. OK fine. Arrangements were made to have an in home visit with a representative.They require that I set aside ninety minutes to go over the project and they take measurements and review the site. Then they also require my spouse be present. Huh ? What are you taking a family portrait? Told them I would be there alone. That is not acceptable to them. I think they are nuts! Bought a window second hand with the stickers of window world all over it. Screen was broken and figured it would be easy to just replace through the company. This company is rude and completely unavailable for replacing parts. But they'll be more than happy to charge you ample amounts of money to come out assess what you need, charge you for installation and charge you for the product. All I wanted was a replacement for a screen that was broken. I was told over and over again how I didn't do anything right. It was getting very triggering. It is about 1 year ago that Widow World of Boston installed siding on my home. As part of the siding installation the contractor cut off my For Life Leaffilter gutters, which they refused to replace. Instead, they installed smaller non filter protection gutters. I have noticed over this one year period the newly installed substandard gutters in stalled was allowing roof runoff to pour out from the back of the gutter. I called in this week an expert gutter company to look at what was done by the WW contractor. They found no sealer was applied onto the back side if the gutter. Also, used to support the gutter were not the right type and far few support brackets were used. Gutter pitch is also wrong. Downspouts all should have had spredout top spouts for more water outflow for a shallow gutter. Bottom line of this complaint is that for one year water ran out behind the siding. Cost to correct thus WW bundle cost me approximately $1,000 more. read more

I was told 5-8 weeks to have my windows made up and installed, I'm going on month 5 now and still waiting for windows. paper work has been lost from the start, I had to call almost 2 months after signing the original contract just find out the status of the project. nothing had been started and non one called back to say names have been messed up and the paper wor needed to be redone. they had been to the property 3 times to measure the windows and some how when they finally showed up, they two wrong windows! 3 times they were there with measuring tapes! when I called with frustrations I was told numerous lies from Peggy in the office. And when I called Peggy out on one of her lies she flat out hung up on me! Childish! And here I am having to wait another month for the last two windows to come in. I had a quote from Anderson windows and although they were a bit more expensive, just for the professionalism and wanting the job done right the first time, I'd recommend going with them as I wish I did orignally. read more

Had my old Patio door replaced because leaked both cold in winter and heat in summer. The person doing the work removed all the parts and glass from the old door and began to install the new door. He kept me informed on the how, what and why he was doing what he was installing the frame, glass and locks. He worked approximately seven and a half hours with no break. OMG! I just had some work done in my house which revealed water damaged from the improperly installed slider. So much rot I have been advised to hire a structural engineer to assess the damage and make sure it is safe. Wish I had fought harder to get my slider reinstalled the right way. read more

Window World - Boston (Pembroke) - Is the worst experience we have ever had dealing with a contractor. Process started in Feb 21, (25) windows and (2) doors (front and rear slider) ordered in March 21. I'll try to be short as I could write a novel. Here we are Jan 22, with drafts coming through the $6500 front door and the only thing WWB is consistent on is IGNORING the customer, I guess they figure do not respond and the problem goes away, glad to see they can advertise on TV about the warranty (if you can get them back to do the job correct) and as long as they do not absorb any cost for their continued screw ups and the poor quality from the manufacturer. We had window sashes installed wrong, I think WWB has been out here 15 times and we are still waiting for (1) top sash on a window (supposed to have the solar tint), the bottom does. As for the windows the caulking looks like a child put it on. So far we have completed (1) of (25) windows where we are removing all of the garbage work performed WWB has done and re-caulking every window as it makes us sick to our stomach to look at these windows everyday. It's the get in, get your money, get out and ignore the customer, no integrity or ethics. If you chose WWB (Pembroke) you now know what to do, patch up the drafts, wear a sweater, buy 20-tubes of caulking and small razor to get all the garbage off windows and spend your winter project re-caulking windows. Complete waste of money, aggravation, time - the worst experience. Unfortunately to post this we have to select a rating - I don't see (-50). read more

Stay away from window world at all costs. Took me almost 5 months to get my windows replaced at a price close to 7 grand. One bad window in the batch and they could not find anything wrong with it. I recommended replacing it as I felt it was defective but it's like talking to my keyboard. Don't believe those ads where they show heat lamps and it's effect on their windows. Pure bull. All my windows are cold to the touch. The bad one actually frosted up. I ordered about 30 feet of gutter from ww, asked the sales person if they had gutters in the leaf filter category and they confirmed that they did. I also ordered new insulated siding for the rear of my house. I was hospitalized for 16 days back in Aug. 2020 while that work was performed. I inspected the work once I was released from the hospital and discovered conventional gutters were installed. I called ww and they told me that in order to get the leaf filter type gutters, a minimum order of 2 grand was required. This was not told to me while I ordered. They will not replace it. I cannot see if the siding they installed is actually insulated as it would require removing the side braces to see inside. The worker who checked my problem window did not seem too interested in inspecting for me, so I will hire a independent contractor to confirm. Bad business practices all around. Their only concern is taking your money. read more

Woburn location-Non responsive never pulled permit for the siding or the electrical the lights and doorbells on the exterior house do not work and the exterior outlets were not properly placed back and created an electrical hazard. They illegally pulled the electrical service off the side of the house without a licensed electrician. They assured an electrician would be back out to check out the situation and complete the job and left never to rerun. Followed up multiple times with no response. read more

Window world did a great job replacing my windows in our 1927 colonial. It was not easy-the old windows were huge metal casements and prob weighed 200lbs each!! The Crew was excellent and did the entire project on time and spent just 3 days at my house. All old windows and debris were removed each night. The new windows and trim look great andare so quiet and energy efficient compared to the old ones. I will be calling them for a quote on new siding this year. read more

I have purchased windows from window world since 2008 as I did them over time. My entire house now has them. I could not be happier.... it is now 2019 and they have come out for free to replace broken knobs, three half windows where the argon seeped in and in the microburst a large piece of glass from outside was blown into the bay window and the window has only minor scratches. Much less expensive than Anderson etc and I have had great service from them.... I am an 11 year user versus the other negative reviewers that never became a customer.....love my wibdows read more

The salesman,Joey B, was low key and straight forward and gave me a written estimate for replacement windows and new construction windows both with Azec exterior trim that i requested. upon his return within the 90 price/job quote it was explained that they did the Azec trim/nosing/sill another way adding $450.00 no $350 additional to the trim for the nosing/sill (premade at Home Depot but needs to be cut to length but fit in adding a small amount of time to the install). the price fluctuated like a mutual fund and added trim cost was an additional $6,300 (down from $8,100) plus the original $190 that i was told was for the trim on the top and sides...Please shady scammers Stay away from Window World and their pricing tactics and not honoring their written estimates. i can only imagine trying to deal with them with their "Lifetime" warranty Dan Rea and Tom Caron would be so disappointed C.T. read more

I have mixed emotions about my experience with Window World of Boston. I am ultimately happy with my windows which I got for a really good price and were installed, as far as I can tell, professionally. However, I don't think I'd ever recommend them to a friend as I have high expectations for things I spend a lot of money on and these did not meet them. The salesman was very knowledgeable and professional. He showed up early and walked me through the options. He didn't try to do a crazy sales pitch. Just told me what I needed, and the best he could offer me. He didn't try to boost the price like a car salesman would do. Everything is just there. You can go with their options, upgrade or downgrade. The price they offered me was the lowest I could find, and I feel that I could have spent much more elsewhere on the same quality window and install. Their customer service also seems great from my little interaction with them. The windows themselves are pretty nice, and look much better than my old ones. Energy star qualified as well. The bad: First, I had to take a day off from work. I'm sure many places do Saturday installs, and taking a vacation day off for something like this is not ideal. So, I took a whole day off, and Window World said they'd be there between 8 and 10am. 10:30 comes along, and no one has arrived. A service person calls me and says that they got hung up with another install and were going to be late, which made no sense to me because installs are usually hours long and I figured I was the first one scheduled for the day. I was told I'd be called a half hour before they showed up. This didn't happen, and could have been a problem (but wasn't) because I had left the house. They eventually showed up at 12:30pm, and the group who came to do my windows said my originally scheduled installer called out sick. So someone was obviously lying here, I am not sure who. Either way, I didn't appreciate being lied to and I was already pissed off because they were late. In addition, them showing up at 12:30pm meant that I could have worked a half day, so they wasted my time. And you know what they say about time. Time is money. Ultimately, this wasted my money. Second, the installers that came started pulling in to my driveway with a huge box truck. To give you an idea of the size of my driveway, my girlfriends jetta barely fits through it. It is a shared driveway and I went outside to tell them to park on the street. They told me they couldn't (what do they do when they work on a house without a driveway?), and insisted on parking in the driveway and blocking a spot. They started pulling in laughing and swearing. Not that I care about swearing, but I was already upset about the previously mentioned issues and the fact that they didn't listen to what I said at all, so as you can imagine, approximately zero professionalism was shining through. I just let them do their thing, and it ended up not being an issue... but the spot they were blocking was a neighbor who works a night job, so their car could have definitely been pulling in any minute. I ended up liking the installers overall and they were fun to talk to, but the initial impression was not good and the fact they didn't listen to me about parking (a huge pet peeve of mine) left a bad taste in my mouth. Third, the installers were talking the whole time about how clean they leave a job site. and while I was sitting there watching them, they did seem to be at least attempting to clean, but I think they were in a rush to leave and weren't as thorough as they should be. After a lengthy inspection when they left, they were a far fetch from clean. Besides the typical mud and dirt tracked in which you expect with any house work, there were paint shavings from the window trim, finger prints all over the windows themselves (you'd expect them to windex them down after install, no?), some stuff they left behind and various other things. It probably took me an hour to get everything cleaned up the way it should be. Lastly, they asked to use some of my stuff that they didn't have themselves. This was probably the least concerning thing to me because, if what they said was true about my installer calling out sick, they would have been unprepared for my job. They had to use my paper towels to clean the trim (which was actually pretty clean) and even had to use one of my drill batteries because theirs were out. Again, this didn't bother me so much because I understand why they were unprepared, but it's worth of mention. Overall, the experience was "ok" but when you're shoveling out so much $$ for this stuff, you probably want a better experience than what I had. Maybe it was the exception and not the rule. read more

We had window world replace all our old windows and that was fine. A few months ago we added 1200 square feet to our house and hired them for the vinyl siding. We thought everything was fine until the leaks started. At first glance seemed like an ice dam, but when the water stared pouring into our basement as well as underneath my daughters room new hard wood floor, and water pouring through the bathroom ceiling so we decided to investigate further. We found that a sofet was left untouched, unflashed, and exposed wood. The first people from there to come look, said that it was their issue and they would fix it. The next morning, the day before another 2 feet of snow, the big boss Jeff Steal, called and said they will not take responsibility. I called and called with no call back until i got the worker that came out on his cell. He said he would see what he could do and Jeff called back and said they would come repair it but it is not their fault because it s not in the contract. So i am hiring a lawyer for damages. The contract says sofets, so for them to leave a soft that they worked on, open and exposed like this is unacceptable. Oh did I mention the crew was 2 weeks late showing up to the job, and then rushed out of here the last day which explains why it was unfinished. I now have to replace a brand new floor, my bathroom ceiling, and all the water spot in the paint in my kids playroom. The contractors came and i am currently waiting for an estimate to give to my lawyer since Window World will not take responsibility. read more

I hired them for a whole house vinyl siding job after a conversation with the salesman, the workers bust their asses to rush through the job, but give very little attention to detail, don't ask questions and are very sloppy. Chicken bones from lunches, nails everywhere (and we have dogs), urine spots in the snow behind the work van from workers which we had to see every time we went out to the car... This company in the worst. They sent 2 non English speaking gentlemen. Dropped nails everywhere. Put up all of my shutters wrong. Made a mess out of my crown moldings, broke some in different places and nailed them up like we weren't going to see them. Took off the whole side of our old vinyl and threw it in our driveway without a dumpster even being here a whole day. They were here from July till October until we basically threw them off the job. Only to find out two months later all around the top with the Cedar impressions made the top of the house and under above and around every single window was warped then we had an estimate someone come over and look at the home they never used under Cell trim to lock these pieces into place we waited till the next summer for them to just drop off the materials and leave and never say anything and never fix it we're going on our third year how do you rent attorney to go after them now they're going to play by our rules I would not hire window world of Woburn. read more

We took a risk hiring them after getting other estimates which were too high. I talked with them about their low reviews. They did a smooth and quick job replacing our windows. They did order the wrong size patio sliding door, but came back with the right size within a week. So far we are happy with our fifteen new windows as well as the patio doors. We ordered two new front doors from Lowes before working with Windows World, and we are still waiting for them via Lowes! (One is installed improperly and the other door isn't installed yet). Compare Lowes to this company - we got fifteen replacement windows and a converted patio door from 3 old windows within 5 weeks! read more
