With much regret using window world. The install of my new windows was very slobby at best. The workers couldn't hurry through the job fast enough and get back to their phones. The caulking was so bad it was all over the siding of the house. Their was dirty hand prints inside and outside all over the walls. I thought this was a professional company. After much research about replacing four windows on the front of our home, we decided to stop by Window World and take a peek at their showroom, since they do so much advertizing on television. It was a Monday around 11:00am when we arrived at the store location on Longley. The doors were locked and no sign or anything to indicate they were not open. We called the phone number on the door and a lady answered and said "she was in the back and the only one there and the owners didn't like her to let anyone in if she was the only person in the store." We told her we just wanted to look at their windows and get an estimate to which she replied, "I'm too busy now to come to the door." We've had Window World install new windows on two different occasions within the last ten years and both experiences have been amazing from start to finish. Patrick, in sales, is thorough and so genuine. The installation was seamless and quick. The crew was respectful and cleaned up the job completely. First off Patrick the salesman is knowledgeable, friendly and a great salesman who goes out of his way to introduce and sell you the product which is a positive attribute. Second, upon examination without instillation the windows look like good quality, I chose to buy the upgraded windows for the best insulation (19 and a slider). Patrick had a great portfolio handy for me to look over for comparisons...BUT and this is the biggest warning. The time estimates are far from accurate. I was told 9-12 weeks, closer to 12. We are now looking at 16 at best and that is IF the weather cooperates. This was not disclosed at sale and when they took the $9000 deposit of 50%. . They also don't communicate updates without calling and can't give any definitive answers and will not refund despite false instillation estimates. Home Depot installed my friend's windows in 4 weeks and it was about $500 more. Anderson is about double the cost but had better timing. If you need windows and it's not optional and timing is important I would NOT advise this company. They sell really well but don't deliver and have excuses about being short staffed. They should not continue sales if they don't have installers. I'm hoping the windows are quality and will follow up next year if they ever install mine. read more

I ordered my windows from Window World in February and paid a 10% deposit. I was told the windows would be custom made and was surprised that the sales person only measured one on the outside. I called in September to see when my windows would be installed. I was told my windows were ready but they had staffing issues so they weren't sure when the install would happen. The install happened September 23, 2022. The installers were pleasant and seem knowledgeable. They measured all the windows and seemed very happy about the measurements. When I inquired they said they wouldn't have to fight to get them in. All six windows were cut out in 10 minutes. The slider took longer and they had to use a pry bar. I just heard lots of banging and when I inspected I saw cracks on both vertical sides of opening were the metal bull nose meets the dry wall. The two upper corners were chipped. I asked the installers if they would fix and they said no. The windows had a 3 inch gap between the new window and opening. I asked if they were going to fill it with spray foam or something else and they said the frame has a foam insert. What about the gap? They just put vinyl adhesive strips around the opening and caulked around it. The install took 3 hours for six windows and a slider. They also left the windows smudged with caulking and handprints. I will see what that area feels like during winter. I called to complain about the cracks and dirty windows but they intended on just spraying the cracks and I would have to paint. They don't clean the windows. I hired a handy man who used mud, texture and paint to repair. I hired a window cleaner. I lost about 3" of light at the top of the windows and about 1.5 on the sides. I will not be recommending this company. read more

The incompetence of window world of Reno knows no bounds.. the manager Amy, who in my opinion is a real "gem", is not fit to manage a self run vending machine. When asked to buy a replacement window, for the second time because the serial number did not match up, her ability to help a paying customer in a rational manner left the building. I was told to contact the manufacturer (who only deals with wholesalers) because she was too busy and stressed out to deal with such an arduous task of getting a replacement window sash, from a window company.. I do not feel as bad for all the time I have wasted as I do for the poor employees at window world that have to deal with such an atrocious manager. God speed you saints of window world. 10/10 would not recommend this company. read more

We weren't looking forward to getting our windows replaced, but our house is 30 years old and the original windows were failing. We called Window World of Reno and were pleasantly surprised by their quote and their process. Our framing is in good shape (no water damage or rot) so they're able to actually install new, energy efficient vinyl windows over the framing. This won't be the best solution for everyone but it worked for what we need and our budget. Note: this does reduce the glass size a bit, but not enough to make a difference. Because of COVID-19 many suppliers are delayed from normal times, and windows are no different. It took almost 3 months between estimate and installation. No problem for us, but be aware. Fast forward, we're now sitting in a warmer house; draft-free and much quieter! Our install team was Michael and Sam. They were very quick, thorough, and clean throughout the entire day and a half installation (12 windows and 1 sliding door). We have owned 11 homes and remodeled many of them. This is my second time working with Window World (on a second house). As expected, the entire process was flawless. From the initial contact with my sales person Vicki, to the communication with the girls in the office, then finally with Brandon and David on installation day it could not have gone better. I would love to give more stars but I can't. I first called Window World in July 2020. I was told to call back in September 2020. COVID was causing a restriction on their business. I will tell you their website says they service Washoe, Carson City, Storey, Lyon and Douglas County. I live in Minden in Douglas county. I was told by the young lady that answers the phone, say one in July and September, that if she sent the installers to Minden, they would not be happy. Her comment that the basically service Reno. Then why do you have all of the listed counties on your website. They advertise on television, and I have seen their adds. I asked was this restrictions due to COVID? The answer was no. They really don't like going to Minden anytime. If they agreed to come it would have to be combined with someone else, since I only want two windows. If you knew that was your policy, why would you have me call you back two months later? This isn't how one should do business, if they want to have a successful business. Charlotte thank for your reply, but apparently you did not read my review. Never was there a comment on the number of windows. Why would I have called back after two months to see if you were available? I was told the installers would be happy to make a trip to Minden. We were looking to replace windows for our entire home (15 windows and a large sliding glass door). For starters, the customer service from Window World was better than all of the other places that we checked (other vendors either quoted an astronomical figure or didn't return calls at all). We picked out our windows and made an order for an install in late March. Well, COVID-19 rolls around and all plans go out the window (pun intended). The folks at Window World kept in touch with us throughout the unfolding events to schedule a new time that would work for everyone's schedule while also following appropriate health protocols during the pandemic. We ended up being able to schedule an install in early May 2020. Seth and Vince did a great job. They kept us informed of the process, got the job entire job done in 2 days, and left the house looking spotless when they left. We're loving the new windows and especially enjoy the features of the double hung style which allow opening from both sides and a movable screen for easy cleaning. read more

We had a window world sells rep come to our house and give us a quote for having 5 windows replaced. I told him if we liked their services and windows we would like to have all the windows replaced on the entire home. He sold on us on his quality installation and personally going above and beyond with past customers that called and complained. Two of the windows being installed were directly above my two AC condensers, sells man said this was not an issue and typical on their installs. I just had brand new furnaces and complete AC replacement last year, so all line set was new also. I had my wife take before photos of the areas where the work was being performed. We also have a full security surveillance system that monitors the house and records 24/7, this captured all work being performed. When I got home I went out to see the new installation and was kinda excited to see what we ended up with. I noticed my new AC line set was totally bent down to the ground. Then I went to our surveillance video and was totally disappointed in the installation techniques used by Window World of Reno. Technicians throwing parts down onto my AC, standing on top of my condenser, bending the AC line with his ladders left leg all shown on video. So I called Window World of Reno and expected this great customer service and was vey surprised that they said they did not do the damages and would ask the technicians. Window world stated the technicians denied all that I accused them of, and stated they placed materials in a gentle manner, did not stand on AC, did not damage AC line. I told them I had video and they wanted me to bring it in and go over this with the installation technicians. I told Amy and Patrick this would be a bad ideal if I was to confront their workers and this is not my job. Then I sent them the link to the video and they watched it and said it was clear they did not do the damages that I was accusing them of. Now 6 weeks later, I have a bad new window thats to be replaced, $900-$1600 in damages to my own AC, that Im probably going to have to sue for compensation. Very very frustrating and so disappointing in their response as they sold us on their commercials and excellent customer service. I strongly disagree as they do not call back and say they need to ask the owner and see what direction they are going. They will not get me the owner's contact information or any help to talk to him directly as I have asked multiple times. read more

Window World installed several windows in our home. We have no problem with the windows themselves. They are actually very nice, but because of the ineptitude of some people who work for this company, I worry about quality. We have one window that they can't seem to get right, and it is smack on the front of our home. It's a sliding window with grids that don't match up. Over the course of a year, they have been here FOUR times for one window. Instead of ordering a new window, they keep ordering half of it - and then are surprised when it doesn't match. Duh... It takes months between orders. You'd think they could put a rush on it, but no.... Despite once sending a company "representative" to look at it, (aren't they all representatives of the company??) Window World can't seem to correct this mistake. It would have saved us both a lot of time, had they simply reordered the entire window months ago. They also screwed up the installation of an arched window and have sent people multiple times to look at it or try to correct it. I've sent pictures to the office. The pictures have been lost - twice. When I have called (and I hate to call) because of the song and dance, it's always the same: the office girl complains about her job, complains about their installers (who have nothing to do with ordering) and promises to, "get someone out, but oh, they are sooo busy, so it won't be soon..." Seriously?! You would think after multiple attempts to correct this, I would get a call from the owner, or at least a manager, to apologize for this debacle - but no. We get the incompetent office girl who blames everyone on the planet, and is always quick to say that, "she is not responsible." Since writing this review, we have received a call from our sales person. She is very nice, and very competent. She apologized for the multiple errors, though I don't believe she is to blame for any of the errors. While I do appreciate her, I believe at this point, the owner should be the one to call to apologize and to ensure that everything will be corrected - asap. This company couldn't be a bigger joke. I had Vicky come come out in Jan 22. I ordered my windows thru her and she said it would take about 5-6 months to get the windows so I figured with C19 and all that made sense .June comes and they install the windows and leave and first wind we get I have dirt in all the tracks (6 windows they did) after months of dealing with back and forth phone calls with no one hardly calling me back I finally get them to send out their Tech who says I need such and such parts and it will take another couple months to get them .Keep in mind now it's winter here in Nevada (1 hr east of Reno) and its cold. Wind and dirt is blowing thru and WW could care less . So the parts finally come in an Feb 8 their supposedly tech who is the same guy who came out before and puts in the parts, turns out they did nothing now Im stuck dealing with their junk products and I have duct tape between the two panes to keep the draft out. Ive called them and even went to their business location in Reno . There is no company sign with their name on the building and it looks like the place is abandoned. Now I'm out in the parking lot calling them and a girl answers the phone and can tell in my voice I'm upset and will not let anyone in without an appt with the owner who isn't there. We go back and forth for a few minutes and she hangs up on me. I gave a bad review on their website and they responded saying I was belligerent in their parking lot and they would call the police on me next time. If I could give 0 stars I would. Dont waste your money here and save yourself the headache. There is a reason they're the cheapest thing going. There is "no lifetime warranty" its a scam. We got an estimate from Vickie. She showed up when she said she would. Got a price. OK. She said 6-9 weeks before install. OK, no rush. At 8 weeks I called to ask when I might expect the install. I was told by Amy that they usually don't come to Gardnerville for one job of only 2 windows. Vickie didn't mention that. Would have been nice to know BEFORE I paid the 50% deposit. A couple weeks later, Amy called, set a date a couple days later for the install. She implied that they would be here in the morning. 2PM they showed up, with masks, ready to do the work. Took til about 5PM. Job seemed ok, adequate cleanup, BUT , the sliding door slides REALLY hard and the top of the slider wasn't caulked. I am really disappointed in Window World . So far everything is great, the windows are beautiful the guys, (Cody, Michael and Erin) were very professional and considerate. They did an amazing job. got it done in about 7 hours.. I would totaly give them 10 stars if I could. The whole experience was great from initial contact with Patrick the salesman to the girl in the office who scheduled the job to the guys who came out and did the install..!! Called Window World out and Patrick brought out the window and stood on it. Showed us a lot of hype advertising and their brochure. He measured the windows and we got an estimate. Decided to go with Window World and called for an install appointment. We were called back and a date set for 3 weeks later. Moved all the furniture and when Patrick showed up again I was surprised to learn that he was there to remeasure the windows and get a deposit. The moved furniture stayed where it was for a month while the order was processed. Day of install they arrived an hour and a half later than scheduled. The install was supposed to take 2 days but they assured me they would be done in one - they were but not until after 7:00. Now the problem arises. I went to clean the windows and they do not open into the house. I called Patrick. I was angry and still am. Their logo shows the windows opening in, the brochure shows the windows opening in "for ease of cleaning", single hung windows are shown as coming out "for easy cleaning". Patrick was very sorry but nothing else. He explained that I ordered single hung windows and no they do not open indoors. Patrick was the one who convinced my husband we would have more air circulation and save money by not replacing the sliding windows we had with the hung window design. But, he said, the double hung cost more. We never gave him a budget! I do not need a salesman acting as my accountant! Now I have 14 windows that have to be cleaned outside and they are not quality windows. The windows move unevenly within their tracks so closing them requires a little fussing around with. Will never use them again and I really cannot recommend the personnel, the product or the customer service. read more

We had three very large old picture windows that were quite the bear to get out but they did and with a great work ethic and sense of humor. i had 4 windows replaced in my home about 8 months ago...soon after installation we had a lot of rain here in reno, and all of a sudden noticed that there was a bubble of water in the corner of my windows going down my wall. i still had the old windows in the rest of the house from the builder and none of them were leaking...only the 4 windows they put in! they came and claimed that it was the caulking was not done correctly and said they would help me fix the wall so i can repaint...he said they would talk to the owner about compensation or changing the the windows out. he said the owner was out of the country and would be back in a week or so. its been many months now and not a word from anyone! not even a follow up call to see if we are satisfied. it has not rained much since the caulking was done so i dont even know if the leaking has stopped! i called another window company and will be having all my windows replaced and was shown in an article in a paper that window world has lied about my windows...they have steel in them and no argone gas in between...in other words, they are not insulated...its just glass!! how dare they not tell the consumer these lies. i am going to try to get some of my money back and offer them their windows back as soon as my new windows are installed. i would never use them again and tell my friends and family not to use the. I will complain to the bbb and every other consumer website i can. DO NOT use these people...they don't care about you or your house...my next window company is going to open up the frame and look for water damage and fix anything that is damaged for free, thank goodness. read more
