If I could give any place of business 10 stars Windridge would win hands down! Bob and Lori were our tour guides and were phenomenal. Bob was very informative and NOT boring! He had great stories to tell, he was fun and lively and kept our attention as well as entertained all of our questions. Lori was very kind and we enjoyed hearing her favorite parts of working at the winery. We only had a charcuterie so I did not have any food from the menu, but I loved that they had a chili on the menu and I need to make it back for another visit while the weather still warrants a warm bowl! The tasting room is spacious but cozy and we love a 21+ for a nice day getaway. Excited for my next visit!

What an amazing vineyard. The scenery was beautiful. Its location is prime because it's about a 20 min drive from Gaithersburg and 35 min from Rockville. The wine was absolutely delicious. I had the pleasure to try the light bodied red wine which was rich in fruity flavors. The service was impeccable me. We were there for a private event and the staff were very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I genuinely enjoyed my experience. I will return soon to try some other wines.

I've been a wine club member for years and usually pick up my allocations at the end of the year and give bottles as gifts. Sometimes, my wife and I can get out to enjoy ourselves and pick up an allocation to indulge in while visiting. Having a Vineyard a few miles from home is the bees knees. The views are breathtaking and the service is excellent. Even with some of the turnover with seasonal staff. Every year, the staff is nice and really cares about the wine.

I recently spent a lovely Saturday afternoon at Windridge Vineyards with some of my family. Enjoyed a wine tasting on the outdoor patio and a great conversation with the bartender, who gave me a couple of free samples. The Albariño was my favorite--crisp, refreshing, and perfect for the day! I'm usually not a fan of Maryland wines because they are way too sweet but the wines at Windridge were right up my alley. Very comparable to some of my favorite VA vineyards.

Back in the fall of 2020, my wife (then fiancee) and I and our two friends came here to enjoy some wine with delicious sushi from Yuraku. The staff was friendly and were accommodating of the fact Yuraku was backlogged and running behind so we came later than our reservation when it was quite dark out. Nonetheless, the wine was some of the best we ever had and the outdoor seating is a great environment even when it was quite dark and chilly out.

Came here during the day for a friend's birthday luncheon. The winery wasn't crowded and they have indoor and outdoor seating. We were a group of 10. It was a very relaxed vibe. They have a food truck on site that "caters" the food. The food was good. I liked everything except the tomato soup- that needed a little more seasoning. The wine was good. We just selected and purchased our own wine. It happened to be a windy day so we had to move the party indoors. Otherwise we definitely would have stayed outdoors since the views are really pretty. Nice if you're looking for a relaxed vibe.

I don't drink but the group I came with does. I personally went for the view and the ambiance of Vineyards. I was pleasantly surprised to see the food trucks and places to sit with fire pits as it adds to hang out vibes a bit. To me this is a place to go to to enjoy some classy wine and hang with your friends with a beautiful view. They also have horses for you to spectate as well. This was only my second Vineyard but both times I was happy that I added the experience to my palette. For actually wine drinkers give this place a try on nice cool day!

At Winridge Vineyard, you can order vegan and meat appetizers to be paired with the many types of wine. Our favorite is the bubbly rosé. The staff is super helpful, and the setting could not be lovelier.

I was amazed how much seating this place had and really like how it was broken up and there were different styles of seating. The views were also gorgeous. Additionally, I really liked that outside food was allowed. I've been to many where outside food is not allowed and this is not a con for me if outside food is not allowed, but I think it's a nice touch when a winery/vineyard who may only serve a limited menu allows outside food. My friends and I stopped at Gemelli's in Gaithersburg since it was on the way. We had been hearing good things about their pizza and they were really good! Should have taken more . When we got to Windridge, only a few people were there but by the time we left 2 hours later, it was packed!! Service was good and the team was nice. We sat outside in a covered area right where the band was performing. They started performing at the tail end of our time there, so glad we got to talk and hangout before that. Wine is served both inside and outside but when we arrived because it was still early, we had to order and collect our wine inside because the outside bar was closed. We didn't get any flights, just bought individual glasses and bottles. I got a glass of their port wine, which was delicious and at 19%, they do a smaller portion because of how strong it is. We got a bottle of their Riesling, Albariño, and I believe one of their Portrayal. All the wines were good! Will be back to also try their food next time and soak up the views more.

What a beautiful vineyard. I specifically chose this place to meet up with some friends because they're dog friendly. Their outdoor space is huge and has lots of available seating. Reservations were encouraged from their website so we made one for this past weekend. It was a crowded day given how nice the weather was so I'm glad we had our reservation. We all tried the wine flight selection. I just chose the Classic Flight which came with a white, a rosé, and a red. My favorite was the white - the 2023 Portrayal. My friends really enjoyed The Old Line and ended up getting a bottle of it to share. It's a dessert wine so it's sweet but it was delicious. My friends also brought some food for us to munch on which was really great. My dog loved being out here with us as did we. The service was friendly, views were great, and wine was pouring - can't complain about any of that! I'd definitely come back again as this was a great experience.

BEAUTIFUL setting- there's not many vineyards with a view like this where I live! For just a bit further drive, coming to Windridge was worth it instead of visiting our usual wineries in Frederick, MD. Reservations are recommended, but you still order your wine at the bar and can bring your own food. The other best part? No kids allowed!

Came here with a friend and I have to say I was quite impressed. Reservations were strongly encouraged. Their wines were all very good. The reds are Chambourcin heavy (which is not a personal favorite of mine but they were still good). You can do a tasting (set), flight (your choice), and glasses/bottles. They had a variety of snacks for purchase as well as a food truck, so there are some nice options for food. It looked like you could also bring your own food. The reservations are for 2 hours, so keep that in mind if you are looking to hang out for longer (there may be other options for staying longer, but we only had a couple hours so I didn't investigate that). The grounds are beautiful and there is a horse rescue on the property which we thought was cool. Highly recommend checking them out!

This is a wonderful place with a great view and excellent wine! You can call in advance and reserve a spot. We usually come on Sundays at 3-4 p m and it's not very crowded. Good wine selection and delicious pizza

Ask the Community - Windridge Vineyards

Is it still dog and kid friendly?

Definitely not kid-friendly! My kids seemingly annoyed the owners and they didn't hesitate to tell me that, which instantly killed the vibe.

    Yes dogs are allowed

Can we bring our own food?

    Yes you can.

    Is this place kid friendly?

    Yes it is.

How is now since social distancing has reduced size?

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes,dogs are allowed. Most of the dogs were at the outside tables. So, you may need to keep them outside. 90% of the seating is outside, so that shouldn't be a problem. There have been lots of dogs each time I went.

Do they accept credit cards/square payments or it is a cash only establishment?

You can use credit cards. We did and it was fine.

There was PLENTY of seating still - lots of large and small tables scattered throughout the property. They also have seating inside the winery at a small bar. The wine itself was really nice; we had several bottles of the rose at the table. It was light, crisp, and easy to sip in the nice weather. I was impressed that they also had 2 non alcoholic wines; the non drinkers in our group were happy to have some options made just for them (which were delicious also). There is a third party pizza business that had food offerings; we had many different types of their pizza which were all good. Very smart to have a food option for folks to enjoy while we sip our wine. Overall, the property is wonderfully maintained and the wines meet all expectations. I'd recommend giving this spot a try if you're looking for a nice winery north of the beltway!

Nice, roomy restaurant which never came close to filling up on a Saturday lunch. Booze was tasty but lotsa ice. Kids meals were likely the best deal. Seemed like they were really short staffed which made table service rather slow. Hostesses weren't very welcoming nor that helpful. Kinda just stood around chatting until they were required to act when customers walked up to them to get help. Kitchen staff was hopping! But. The food. Um. Not yum. But not entirely horrible either. Seemed like a lot of stuff was from the night before. Warmed over yet not hot nor warm by the time it got to the table. Stuff under the heat lamp too long got over cooked while the stuff underneath the overcooked stuff was lukewarm to cold. Would think one couldn't mess up donuts, but these were fried in old oil (probably from the night before since we arrived at opening). Blobs of bland dough that were really dark on the outside but gooey, mushy, and not thoroughly cooked on the inside. That bitter taste from old oil really ruined any hope of enjoying what sounded delish on the menu. The donuts were rather disgusting. In general, the food just didn't taste really fresh or mouthwatering. Salty, maybe. From the bread to the entrees, most everything fell flat. An expensive flat. Worth the drive? Overall, while we had good service minus the hostesses, the food & value just doesn't warrant giving it another shot, which is disappointing. It's a place you'd want to really like, but it's missing something significant that makes you want to return to give it one more try. Just wish the food had been a lot better.

The owner Zhanna has so much knowledgeable to share about all the wines her shop/wine bar carries. The food is amazing and the menu choices are perfect. Their cheese board with all the locally sourced cheeses comes with flash cards that describe every cheese on the plate and its whereabouts. I have never seen anyone else do this at any restaurant before, I have learnt so much about American cheese. Avocado toast and lamb shack are some of my other favorites! Overall awesome spot! I love coming back again and again)

Tarara Winery will continue operating as a vineyard; however, we will not reopen our winery or tasting room operations. The Hubert Family is deeply proud of the legacy it leaves behind and wishes to thank you all for the great memories. You have celebrated with us so many special occasions from wedding proposals on Proposal Point, special celebrations at the Pavilions and Lakeside Lawn, anniversaries and many days enjoying Tarara wine on the deck or at the Summer Concert Series and so much more. We have enjoyed getting to know you as you became part of the Tarara family. Like many in the wine industry, Tarara is undergoing a significant transition after a year of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hubert family is hopeful and excited about the new opportunities and for the role Tarara will continue to play in the wine industry. We could not have done any of this without you, our loyal customers. We would like to express our gratitude by giving you an opportunity to purchase our wines at discounts we have never before extended. All orders are case sale only (no mixed cases)- all red wines are $180/case and all white wines are $120/case. Online orders can be placed through June 26. (place order here) The last date for pick up is June 26. You can also select to have your wines shipped (FedEx ship charge would apply). Curbside pickup is available every Saturday (May 22 - June 26) from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. This also applies to Vine Club members who have club wine to pick up. The last date for all wine pickup is Saturday, June 26. Bow Tie Strategies will continue to produce and manage the Concert Series that will begin July 3 and run through September 25. Visit the concert website at www.tararaconcerts.com or by calling (703) 646-1282 for additional information. We hope to see you there. Following in the entrepreneurial footsteps of Margaret and Whitie Hubert's legacy, Tarara will cast a long vision of what is viticulturally possible in the region by taking its vineyard to the next level in biodynamic and viticultural practices through the creation of strategic partnerships with True Algae and The Wine Collective. With True Algae, Tarara will be testing TrueSolum, an organic soil amendment micronutrient, to analyze the impact of an algae-based product on the microbiome of vineyard soils and terroir and assess the reduction of organic canopy disease. More information can be found at www.truealgae.com . Tarara has also joined one of the most exciting new projects in the wine industry, The Wine Collective, located in Baltimore, MD. The Wine Collective is a full urban winery and group of growers and makers from the mid-Atlantic region that come together under one roof to create local, quality-driven, and sustainable wines and vermouth. Customers can continue to drink wines made from Tarara's grapes by visiting The Wine Collective's tasting room and Pintxo bar in Baltimore, by ordering online or joining the wine club at: www.winecollective.vin. We are deeply thankful for all your support throughout these years and hope that you continue enjoying the wines made from the grapes that we so carefully grow. If you have any questions contact info@tarara.com. Warmly, The Hubert Family
