I love living at Windsor Lofts: the neighbors and location can't be beat! The staff are helpful and attentive. The grounds are well kept and its pretty quiet, especially between units. The building is well built and with South Weddington Park just across the street is an added bonus. I've lived here since the building opened in 2007 and hope to remain indefinitely. It's my home! The two challenging factors that keep me from confidently giving Windsor five stars is rental rates and security. Of course, currently rental rates everywhere are grossly inflated, and certainly Windsor could be more affordable even without current market trends. As for security, given the increase in crime and homelessness since the pandemic began, we could have a far greater presence, 24/7. But our neighbors look out for one another and typically keep each other informed and aware of issues as needed. Overall, its a wonderful place to live! And if you're cool and looking for a comfortable, peaceful place to live--you may have just found it! ; ) read more

On 5/13 we had our two bikes stolen from the P2 lot. We went to speak to Liz Samonte from management and she was no help at all. We were told only the maintenance manager has access to cameras and he wouldn't be available until Monday. We filed a police report, but other than that there was really nothing else we could do. Today 5/18, our car got broken into. One of the windows was smashed into and they trashed the car. Again, we went to Liz Samonte from management and she was NO HELP AT ALL. Except this time she told us we need a warrant to access the cameras and the footage gets deleted after 3 days. So we have been targeted twice now and were told two different things from Liz Samonte. We also let her know whoever broke into the car took the clicker to enter the garage, so now they have access. Again, no solution was given by management and we were just offered another clicker. I am writing this to warn residents, as I am sure management will not want other tenants to be informed, that the thief who broke into our car now has access to the garage. I doubt management will make any changes or offer any real solutions to keep our property safe and secured. Please be careful and keep your belongings safe/secured. I do not recommend living here. read more

I called the Windsor Lofts and spoke to Lisa and told her what I was looking for and she told me that there is one available. So I scheduled a tour the following day to see the apartment which was located on the top floor. Once I got there to see the apartment, Lisa said" it was already rented". I looked at her wondering why the hell did I drive down to the valley and take the day off of work to see an apartment that was already rented. Lisa said - "people rent those apartments sight unseen" I said -"What does that mean?" she looked at me with a blank stare. Then I said "well if you knew it was rented why didn't you call me and tell that! Maybe this was a blessing as I have just read some of the negative reviews of this place and the property manager Lisa. Then I saw some photos (trash in the hallways, the homeless encampment across the street.) The management (Lisa) that runs this place is more than incompetent , she has no Idea how to manage anything nor should she be even trying to manage anything. I'm giving them 5 stars because of their outstanding customer service not only in their office but when you call and reach an employee at the call center. I love the location and the amenities were nice. My only issue is that in about 4 years the property will be 20 years old and the apartments are too dated for the price they are listed for. I've lived here for over a year and a half with my son and really love it. Location-wise, it's right next to the subway and across from universal studios. There's a big park across the street where us dog owners meet up every evening. I live in a second floor unit and it's surprisingly quiet. I also love how my unit overlooks trees/the LA river so I don't have to worry about privacy. One of the best things here is the TEAM. Nuria (the manager) is a god send. Super nice and she gets all the things done, Dean lives on the property and takes care of it and is the nicest bloke. They also hold residential parties every couple of months for us to meet each other (more please!). And my neighbors are so pleasant and respectful. I only wish there were more kids here! They keep rent at market rate between leases, which means they don't just jack up to the maximum-allowable 10% rent increase like the last two apartments that I lived in. Seems like they'd rather keep their residents around and build a community than squeeze them dry and have a high turnover. Would definitely recommend Windsor on so many fronts! read more

I have lived here for over a year now and I really love it. I love the feel of my apartment, I love the location, I love the amenities, and the office team has been super nice and accommodating. I've also barely had maintenance problems, but when I have, like tonight, Jason was incredibly quick getting here, and was super kind and did a wonderful job. I'm currently living in this complex and so far it been just okay. Very well located. You can drive or use the public trans-system. Friendly neighbors & "pet friendly." One of my many complains are that the management office do not reinforce that the tenants are not allow to leave garbage out their doors. I don't really understand it. This is quite common on my floor (3rd floor). Nice pool area, ( sometimes a bit noisy on the weekends ). The bathrooms on the pool area for men & women for some reason they keep them closed. You can not used them????. The carpet on the hallways has to be replace it. Also they charged you for stainless steel appliances and some of them are painted silver to give them the look of stainless steel. It just looks dirty. And Lisa the leasing manager has to be the most disrespectful, unprofessional person I have ever met. Her alone made me want to leave. She has actually upset a lot of the residents and forces them out as well. Also, they allow residents to use their porches as a bathroom for their pets. My unit smelled like feces the entire time. Complaints upon complaints didn't matter. They still allowed my downstairs neighbor to do so. Now that I've moved to my new community, I realize how much I was missing out on. I love where I live been here for 8 months. I love how quiet it is and the neighbors are not nosey and chill. The amenities are amazing the pool isn't always busy it's much relaxed except in holidays it'll get little busy but it's real chill. The gym is also nice new equipments and very clean. The pets are cool no complaints no barking noises. I love that's it's close to a park it feels very much at home. The leasing agents Lisa and Britney are very professional and very nice. It's close to the metro station to get you anywhere in LOs Angeles and can't forget how close it is to the freeway and universal studios to restaurants and not far from Hollywood. Currently living at this location for one month now. Moved across the country - pictures and reviews were all I had to make decisions. I wish I would've seen a review speaking about the safety prior to selecting this property. The location is super bad, I have a pet and walking my dog on the side walk located on property is unsafe. The sidewalk along the front of the apartment building not owned by Windsor Lofts at Universal Studios, So, the homeless can walk up and down the side walk and be on property right in front of the main door. I've witnessed a homeless person wiping out his penis and peeing on the front lawn of Windsor Loft. I've witnessed this morning a homeless person sleeping in the ramp way of the Windsor Loft front main door. It's very unsafe walking your dog. None of the recent reviews speaks about the homeless and safety of the residents. Otherwise I would've never moved to this location.The community park is the new home for the homeless in the area and outside front lawn, stairs, and ramp are the home for the homeless people. I've mention to the leasing office. I'm told the side walk, front lawn, anything outside the car garage can't be controlled by Windsor Loft due to them not owning any of it. Yes homeless is bad in all areas and it's sad. I'm sure other places your paying $2000 plus takes care of your safety, but not at this location. The building is very nice and there are a lot of amenities such as a pool, Jacuzzi and a gym. Additionally, maintenance is always above par and speedy. I moved across the country and had 3 days to secure an apartment in LA. I met with Britney who was extremely thorough and accommodating to my rather hectic, tight schedule. The amenities are great (pool, washer/dryer, community gatherings, etc) but it's Britney and Lisa that sold this place for me. They're incredibly responsive and helpful and tend to go above and beyond. I've been living here for 6 months and it's pretty decent apartment living. Though it's off a busy street the noise isn't bad and the apartments seem to be well insulated against noise from neighbors. Dean and the maintenance staff are great too. I really enjoyed my stay at Windsor Lofts. I always felt safe and the staff was completely attentive to any concerns or issues that I have. I do think the prices are high, however,​ I understand given it's in a great location that's walking distance from the great bars on Ventura and to Universal City Walk. I really have to give a special shut out to Britney who was always responsive and direct with any questions that I have. I also appreciate how pleasant​t she was. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for some people in the building not cleaning up after their pets in the elevator. What really drew us in was the convenience of the location and how incredibly dog friendly the building is. So many folks have dogs, they celebrate a pet of the month, and there is a great park right outside the door. Our only complaints are that in our location we could here music from a local club some nights and people could be better about cleaning up after their pets. My boyfriend and I have recently embarked on the dreaded apartment hunt. While we have ultimately decided not to sign a lease at Windsor Lofts, we wanted to share our extremely positive experience with other prospective renters looking for a great community. From the moment we walked through the door, this experience was different than other complexes we have visited. We met with Kerstin, who was not only wonderfully friendly but took the time to understand what exactly we were looking for, what was most important to us, and find a variety of options to suit our needs. We thought the community itself was beautiful! The pool/courtyard is stunning, the gym is nice, and they even offer a full kitchen area (with complimentary coffee!) for all residents/guests. In terms of the apartment, we saw a 1+1, which was a lovely space with all the amenities that one would expect from a luxury complex - nice, spacious kitchen, good-sized bathroom, in-unit washer & dryer, nice balcony and good closet space. We also discussed a 1+loft, which Kerstin noted rent very quickly. While we ultimately decided not to sign a lease due to location (too far from work), it is in a VERY good location, right across the street from Universal City, very close to Ventura Blvd, Metro Station and 101 freeway. Kerstin has been an amazing partner, keeping us in the loop on all new listings that fit what we are looking for and our price range whenever they become available. She has been more than accommodating and has made this generally stressful process much more pleasant! read more

Let's start with there's nothing luxurious about this place. I've lived in the ghetto and had a better complex and no homeless smoking crack outside our building entrance. We've had many break ins our cars in underground parking where they did nothing about it (you'd think they'd get security) also if someone is in your spot they won't do anything. My carpet was so sliced and diced that it would pop up in random areas and you could feel the nail tacks. They also don't care if you're a good tenant who actually pays your rent during a time no one seems to be. Homeless walking inside and down our halls. Taylor the manager is beyond fake and will lie through her teeth. Told me they could have sheriff at my door to kick me out if I missed even one month of rent (we all know that's not true) but to top it off after they were going to raise my rent by $295 I asked the district manager if I could please be allowed to get out of my lease early with no charge(by five days total) since they were raising to a price I just can't afford. She said she'll leave the decision to Taylor and ccd her in our emails. Taylor replied with a move out form for me. I told her thank you so very much that this will help me a little! After moving they stole my deposit of $500 claiming cleaning painting walls and carpet.... That's the landlords duty in between renters not the renters charge especially for dirty walls and sliced up carpet that you were given in the first place. But last they're charging me a final $148 to finish my lease charge even tho they said I could leave early with no charge. I moved for a reason. Beverly Hills prices to live in trash... I currently live at the Windsor Lofts At Universal City. I moved in July 2012 and I am moving out this month. I have never lived in an apartment before, but thought this place was going to be fine for the time being. My apartment is a 1 bedroom loft that has a porch which faces the pool, otherwise known as court side. They have an on site security guard at night. When I first moved in the guard was constantly trying to talk to me, he always knew when I was home and wasnt home. He would knock on my door late at night, around 11:30 almost every night. I got really creeped out by it all. I had furniture delivered at 9pm from a professional company and he proceeded to come in my apartment with them trying to talk to me. My guests that were over thought it was really weird. He would call me from the call box outside to try to talk to me, I didnt even know how he knew what to press to contact my apartment. He also tried to sell me some hand made bags made out of soda pop caps, I tried to ignore it all until he called my cell phone. I then asked the office if they gave my phone number out to him and if it was required for him to come in while having a large delivery at night. They claimed they did not give my number out, so I still wonder how he got it. They ended up getting rid of him and bringing on a few other new guards. A few weeks ago on a Sunday night I heard tons of voices in the courtyard, a few bottles break, and it went on from 11pm-1am. I called to see if the guard would take care of it, nobody did, so I had to yell out my window to shut them up. But Im sure you can imagine how annoying that would be on a Sunday night. I know a few people that live here, I gave one of them my referral, she told me it took them four months to give her the check. It was suppose to be $500 but her check was for $400. I referred somebody and still have not received the check. I am curious if I will get the $500 they advertise you get if you refer. Although, I would not recommend this place. I do not have pets, but I grew up on a farm, so you can imagine how used to animals I am. The hallways are all carpet, and really the only time you see residents walking in the halls during the day are with their pets. The hallways are really smelly, spots on the carpets from accidents from dogs, and they only cleaned it a few times while I lived here. I once saw a resident with a pitbull in the hallway which was surprising to me. But what really got me angry was the time I saw a resident take his big white fluffy dog to the parking garage to use the bathroom. I told him to go outside because I had already stepped in poop two days ago down there. That happened just as it started to get cold. Residents dont like to walk far with their dogs so the entrance of the building always smells like dog poop. My first night in the apartment was a nightmare, the person that lived there before me must have taken all of the lights out, it was pitch black in the bedroom, living room, and the loft. The only light I had to move my stuff in was the Florissant light in the kitchen, two small hallway lights, one closet light, and the bathroom. I had to always have a lamp on to be able to see. Not to mention the light in the kitchen gave me a head ache. Who wants to have that white light they use in stores like Target while they are trying to cook? It was the heat of the summer when I moved in so I did not turn the fire place on, I had recently tried to turn it on and it wouldnt turn on. The porch had a cigarette butt and a few ashes on it when I moved in. The carpet near the kitchen was darker than the living room. The shower in the bathroom was absolutely filthy. Black mold, water spots on the doors that were rusting so bad the doors squealed everytime you shut them to shower. I had to buy a new shower head because of how foul it was. The toliet seat was broken and the flusher was just about to snap. It snapped a few months ago, but after calling maintenance 3 times it finally got fixed. The old fashion washer and dryer were located in the bathroom as well. For anybody over weight living in this apartment would struggle doing their laundry because there is not enough room around the washer and dryer. I am 5'8 and slender and still struggled. The dryer had whatever the smell was that the last resident used in there constantly. It was a sticky thing that they glued to the dryer. All my clothes smelled that way. At the same time I had maintenance come for the toilet I asked maintenance to bring another screen for the window because one window did not have one. The black paint on the railings were in the process of chipping and you can see where the renter before had painted the place due to their awful job painting. The air conditioner was never able to be set comfortably. I found I would have to turn it on and turn it off a lot. I could never get the temperature content otherwise. I feel for the tenants with a negative experience, some areas of a complex can be exceptionally bad for several reasons, as I have read. Some complaints are really a shame, and I hope steps have been taken to avoid repeats of them! I am happy to say that my experience is positive. I love it here. I live here now, but I am moving out because there are other adequate places to live for much less. I have lived in a few luxury apts. in the area and this one is the best for several seemingly small reasons that end up being a huge luxury. It's in the best location, hands down... walk to the City Walk, Universal Studios, Red line, The Baked Potato, Yea! Right smack between the 134 and 101/170 fwys, minutes from Hollywood, and there are High end Food Wagons that park right outside the building to cater to the employees at Universal Studios, so it's like having food delivery every week. There is a park on one side of the building, LA River on another side, Universal Studios on a third side, and a quiet residential cul de sac along the back side separated by additional gated parking and private garages. It's isolated from other residential complexes. For some reason it seems calmer here because of it. A great feature is that it is fully covered from the garage to your apartment but the hallway walls open up to the outside at the ends and occasionally on the sides facing the pool, so there is always fresh air blowing through and it's a prettier walk to your apt. and if it's raining, you can completely avoid getting wet which is wonderful when you have lots of groceries or water sensitive stuff to tote around. The worst things, places for guests to park is limited and the grill is very small, like one you would have for a single family, and it runs out of propane on big grilling weekends. There is no pest problem here, in one year, I only saw a couple of spiders and occasional fly if I leave my balcony door open all day. I think the reason for the high price is the great location and the gorgeous view if your apartment faces the pool. And possibly to keep out the riff raff. It is a beautiful building, oh, and the pool and jacuzzi are saltwater. Big Bonus, otherwise, almost all luxury apts. have granite countertops, brushed steel appliances, A/C., wi-fi in common areas, gated garage, secure entry, pool, gym, etc. The stomping upstairs neighbors and door slammers, plus the occasional parties and children screaming while having a blast out by the pool all summer are to be expected everywhere in all apartment dwellings. There will never be an end to that. The garage is 2 levels so there isn't a spot that's far from an elevator. My car space is as far as you can get from my apt. and it isn't bad. This is a pet friendly building, and I have had the privilege of meeting some of the dogs here, but I don't see them much at all, and I for one, never smelled pet odors inside or outside. Alix in the leasing office is an asset for sure. She is friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and most helpful and attententive. She never ignores me when I walk in, even if she's busy, she will acknowledge me. I'm sure the rest are great, but Alix has been the one who has helped me since the day I inquired about availability here. Before I end this, I have to say that Dan and Jason, in maintenance, are on it. The are at your beck and call. I hate to leave, but it's my situation not theirs. I love my apartment here. read more

I only gave this place a star because Yelp requires that you give at least one. Maybe a half star for the gym because they have kettle ball weights. That's about it. The managers are completely out of touch and do very little in the way of dealing with individual problems effectively. The place is absolutely FILTHY!!!!! (unless you like dog poop and pee in the hallways and elevators) A complete lack of security and the garage door gets stuck all too frequently. Neighbors, have been everything form pimp's to porno performers. Lastly, you will be rewarded for paying your rent on time and being a good tenant with a significant rent increase. I have lived at Windsor Lofts for 1.5 years and have really enjoyed it! I have felt very safe in the building and in my unit. Alix, Denee and the management team has been great to work with! Dan and Jason in maintenance are super nice and helpful! They fix any issues right away! It's a dog friendly building but I have never heard any dogs ever bark. The walls are pretty thick and have never been woken up with any loud noises, etc. Overall, the building is a quiet place and the clientele is great. The pool is great and the workout room is nice and hardly ever used as well. My only complaint is the rent prices. They continue to increase which I believe has to do with the location to Universal Studios. It's great if you work in that area, etc, but I work from a home office. I am moving to a nicer unit (for cheaper rent) that has no amenities. I do think you pay for the pool, workout room, and park, etc. But other than that, I would recommend this place for sure. read more

Let me start with the staff, these people are AMAZING! They never let me down, always have everything organized and done quickly. This is the first place I have lived where the staff was truly helpful. I just renewed my lease for another year and I am so happy I made this decision!!! I live in the best neighborhood and I'm close to EVERYTHING!!! The staff helps me with all kinds of things from repairs to letting me have a stamp for an outgoing letter! The views are very nice, I get to see Universal Studios' fireworks everynight from my balcony! If the staff isn't enough, the residents are so sweet as well! Every person I come into contact with here is so friendly and there is a real sense of community. Such a lovely place to live.
