We ordered Carry Out for my office. I was early to pick up the food and my office is absurdly close. Ordered Fish'n'Chips and Meatloaf. The fish was piping hot , crispy on the ends but was soggy and wet in the middle. I suspect this may have been previously frozen. The accompanying French fries where however luke-warm, stale and chewy - as if they'd been left out all day. The meatloaf was different then expected. It was more akin to a pâté in terms of density and texture. It too was luke warm on the edges and colder in the center. I can't judge the flavor as it was not appetizing to eat cold. I don't suspect pick-up attributed to the temperature of the food as the accompanying mashed potatoes where hot and so was the order of fish and chips. The spinach and artichoke dip almost certainly had a microwaved cheese texture and consistency. Admittedly the experience may be different dining in and is still a better option for the area. I will however not plan on visiting again. read more

Just move a tad over a mile from this place! It was recommended to us and definitely lived up to the recommendation. The food, attentive service and atmosphere were all a 10. We felt we were valued as a customer and after a difficult day moving, this was just what we needed. This will be our regular haunt. read more

We had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. The place was not crowded so we sat in the bar area. Our server was good and quite attentive. We started with an appetizer of the fried zucchini. It was perfectly fried with a good homemade ranch dressing for a dipping sauce. Next our table split a dozen raw oysters. They were chilled and quite tasty. They were big and fresh. For an entree we split the Cobb salad and our friends split the blackened fish. Both orders they split into two servings for us. Nice touch. Overall a great dining experience. read more

The wife and I came on a Saturday afternoon for fish and chips. It was our first visit. I saw three separate dining areas: Outdoor, dining room with TVs, bar area with TVs and another dining room without TVs. We decided to sit in the quieter dining room with booths and tables and no TVs. I could hear 60s, 70s and 80s music but it didn't override our conversation. it looked like a good menu but we came for fish and chips. The extensive beer menu also included Guinness draft. I'm on that and the bartender pulled it perfectly. Danielle was there at just the right times to see what we might need. My only picky-picky was the batter on the fish. To my mind it needs to be crispier to withstand the malt vinegar and not get soggy. read more

Fun dinner place. Our waiter Kyle was really good. I expected it to be super noisy but there was no band on a Saturday night so we could have a conversation. We are weekly diners and had a very disappointing dinner. For some reason martinis could not be served in martini glasses, chicken was tough, not the usual springer chicken we've had before. The food at Windward Tavern is pretty good, but there isn't much for vegeterians--even the salads come with chicken or gyro meat. The spicy potato hash--made with red pepper cream and jalapenos--is really good but has ground beef in it. The menu isn't really coherent--Greek salad, hot dogs, chicken wings, Ahi tuna--but rather includes a variety of dishes from different cuisines. It's a big place with lots of seating and kind of generic decor. The service is acceptable. read more

We moved here 3 yrs ago from Las Vegas but originally from Chicago, where my daughter swears is the only place that has good food lol When she visited for 2 weeks she must've had their fish tacos at least 6 times. Update: I liked this place so much the first time, I took my mom there and she liked it too. Jessica was our waitress. Very friendly, personally and gave great service. Mom had the meatloaf, portions are huge!!! Enough for two people. It's a mixture of ground beef, veal and other ingredients. Mom likes gravy, had to ask for more. Needed it for the mashed potatoes. I had the snapper with crab on top. Delicious!!! Not fishy and the crab cake was really really good. Maybe they have crab cake entrees??? I'll have to ask next time. We've been meaning to try this place for a few years now and we finally did! Talk about a depressing place to grab a drink and food. The atmosphere is so bad that you can't even imagine what you're going to get out of the kitchen. The food was so bad that we couldn't even eat it and had to send it back to the kitchen. Our service was absolutely horrible. She kept passing our table and going to the empty one behind us. No music, no fun. Everyone in that place looked depressed and lonely. It is very nice inside but the waiter that took care of our table was not. When we sat down we decided to go somewhere else. I thought our waiter was going to throw the menu in our faces. The onion rings were light and crisp, a bit greasy but no problem. The spicy ranch had a nice kick to it! The fish was breaded pretty heavily and felt a bit over cooked at the ends. It tasted kind of bland as well- there was more spice and flavor on the onion rings! The fries on the side were soggy and plain, I stopped chowing down on them after the first 2. The portion sizes were very generous but the fish and chips comes with no coleslaw. Not a fan of coleslaw, but it tends to be a staple with fish n chips, just odd that it felt missing? The waiter was very patient with deciding orders and knowledgable about the menu and the decor was lovely! Overall, I just think perhaps it was an off day and someone forgot to season the fish and maybe the fries were left in a bit too long. A large family Restuarant. Nicely appointed but nothing fancy. The foo was good with a decent range of choices. Nice selection of beer and wine. I've heard great things about Windward Tavern so I took my dad there for his 82nd birthday lunch. Marina is fantastic. She took such great care of us. She went the extra mile making my dad feel special on his birthday. We couldn't finish our food. Great portions. I know they give large portions when my dad gives me two of his large fried shrimp. Ha I had the grouper salad and salad. Both were very tasty. Dad got the fried shrimp with broccoli and sweet potato fries and it looked very fresh and tasty. This place exceeded expectations! The atmosphere , the food and the service was exceptional. My picker eater kids (and husband) loved their meals and the only issue we had was picking what we wanted to eat everything looked so great .
