The only mistake I made by coming here was eating before I came. We had a ball! The restaurant is beautiful! There was a live band playing and someone messed up and gave us a tambourine and some maracas. That is when the party really started! They have a very extensive menu. I wasn't that hungry but wanted to try something so so got the lamb chops with a Jose Margarita and Mata Tropical that came in a cute glass. The lamp chops were tender and flavorful. They came in a bed of mashed potatoes. They drinks were on point! A time was had by all.

Definitely what you would expect from a Mexican grill. It was awesome delicious friendly lots to look at.. food did not take that long to come out waiter was awesome. Definitely helped me out with the menu. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a low-key spot to eat.

Went for some drinks with friends, margaritas to be specific. I had the mango and a peach margarita, I wanted it mixed but they don't let you mix the flavors for some reason. I was charged extra for the different flavors as well. I was hungry and ordered the seafood burrito. I asked for the sauce on the side, and glad I did because it was not good! Just tasted like heated oil no flavor. The burrito had shrimp, fish (not sure the kind), and calamari which didn't taste cooked all the way. I had to add the salsa to give it some flavor. I honestly would not suggest this. The place was not busy and next door to Starbucks. The only thing I would recommend would be the drinks - margaritas.

Stopped by Tarahumata for lunch and was definitely impressed! The menu is typical for a Mexican grill restaurant, but the steak fajitas I ordered were cooked perfectly. The rice and beans were great as well. Guacamole was fresh and flavorful. Service was decent. There's plenty of seating inside, but it looks like they do take out orders as well. I look forward to trying other dishes there.

My office in Alpharetta is across the street and I needed a place to hangout on a Wednesday night until Mark could drive from his office on Lavista to get me. United BMW had shuttled me to work in the morning but was unable to pick me up plus they were waiting on parts to service my car, so I was stranded. When I crossed the street I noticed that the majority of restaurants were either closed for dinner by 8pm such as Mellow Mushroom or simply no longer serve dinner. Tara Humana was the only place open late enough to give me a a place to eat and wait for Mark. I was warmly greeted when entering and they seated me at a booth in the bar area. On Wednesday nights they have live music. I was concerned that it would be too loud or that the music would not be my taste however it turned out to be awesome! Lots of great classic rock plus soft rock from the 60s and 70s. The volume was perfect and made it still possible for conversations. Service was super friendly and efficient the duration of our visit. My shrimp tacos were delicious and the shrimp were large and cooked perfectly. Presentation was pretty. The rice was delicious. Mark loved the chicken enchiladas with rice. Our margaritas were balanced and delicious. My one small critique is that the charro beans served with my meal contained small bits of pork which are a deal breaker for me. I am pescatarian with an emphasis on vegan and vegetarian diet. I looked back at the menu and it doesn't identify the beans contain pork. Had I known in advance I would have chosen an alternative. The bathrooms were clean and stocked with paper products. Parking is free and spacious and Mark had an easy time finding a space for our 4Runner. We had a surprisingly great time here and remarked to each other that we felt like we enjoyed a great concert at Chastain but without the hassles and expense. We recommend this place!!

Cute atmosphere inside and some outdoor seating on the patio. Good lunch specials but a little pricey for dinner. Great guac and burritos and good margaritas. Lunch specials are great so definitely check it out for a good lunch spot.

This place deserves more love i have NEVER had a bad experience here. GAMA is amazing if you ever have the opportunity to stop by the bar and grab a drink you will never ever have bad service or a bad drink! ;)

We walked in and was greeted immediately and sat down for lunch. A lot of business people come here for lunch, so this is just my review during this time. The menu is fairly simple, normal Mexican dishes with a few on the back for lunch. All lunch menu items are $7.75. Our service was great and he was attentive. We got our drinks quickly, and food also very quickly. All our food tasted fresh, chips and salsa was good also. Plenty of servers to meet the needs of the parties there. It's a nice place with pretty decor. You can have bigger parties or smaller. The booth are comfortable. Plenty of parking. I'd love to come back.

Tarahumata has a great ambiance with live music on weekends and beautiful decor but the food is lackluster. The flavors and presentation are not high standard. The dishes need more sour cream, salsa, guacamole, garnish, something...

It is an open concept eatery with indoor and outdoor eating space. We ordered with the cashier but you can also order online or at the kiosk in store. I ordered 1 chicken tinga street taco and 1 regular chicken street taco. My cousin ordered 3 steak street tacos. We added the sauces of our choice from the sauce bar. The tacos were so flavorful. I preferred the regular chicken taco than the chicken tinga. We went again 2 days later and we ordered the tostada, the gym burrito and a chicken torta. My cousin said the bread was a a little hard for his liking, but the flavor was well. My other cousin really enjoyed the gym burrito and i enjoyed the tostada. The tostada is quite messy so i probably wouldn't get that again. However, this place does not disappoint and was a great find. I would visit it again and again and again.

Not overly salty at all, honestly one of the juiciest tacos I've had. The meat was flavorful without being too salty, and the tacos were loaded. Beto Burrito: My husband had this one and said, "No complaints," so that's a win. Guac: Fresh and tasty, though it needed a little extra lime. The only downside was the sweet tea, it tasted off. Not in a pleasant way.

We ordered the Drunken Flamed Fajitas ($36) which sounded like a dream on paper, including onions, peppers, rice, beans, pico and sour cream (only came with 3 tortillas). Everything looked good but it was sooooo spicy. We requested it without jalapeños and it was still spicy, all of it! The steak was extremely chewy and the chicken was burnt, dry and hard. The worst part about our experience was the extra charges. Without telling us, they charged an additional $6 for us and another $6 for my parents who asked for additional tortillas with their fajitas. For $36, you'd think this should come with more than 3 tortillas. The $6 "plate" included 3 tortillas and a very tiny amount of rice and beans and sour cream, which I didn't really want. When we asked the manager about the charge that was never communicated, she looked at the table and said "since you ate majority of the side plate, we need to charge you for it". $42 for Fajitas? I feel like the manager was arguing with us at the table, so unprofessional. We will not be back.

We tried the La Piñata and the Smokey Old Fashioned, which arrived in a dramatic smoke dome--such a fun presentation. For our first bites, we ordered the Tostadas: handmade corn tostadas served with both red and green avocado sauces. They were fresh, vibrant, and a perfect start to the meal. Our main courses were equally impressive. The Short Rib with Mole Amarillo came with pickled habanero onions, rice, and plantains--rich, tender, and beautifully balanced. We also enjoyed the Arrachera, an outside skirt steak served with sautéed onions, chimichurri, rustic potatoes, and a bouquet salad. Every dish was plated beautifully and tasted exceptional. This is my second time here and both times have been so good. We came as a party of 3 and left so happy and full. I love Mexican food holy moly We got the queso and octopus shrimp ceviche as starters. The queso was 3 cheeses: American, cotija, and Oaxacan. They heated it up under a salamander so it was nice and crispy on top, while being gooey all throughout. Also came with a couple of nice salsas. The ceviche was not my favorite because I don't prefer raw(ish) octopus, but the squid ink sauce was very flavorful. For our mains the 3 of us shared the red snapper, tuetano with lamb, and the mixteco poblano pepper. Red snapper had a nice charred smoky flavor from being grilled. Was more meaty than flaky in texture. It was our second time getting the mixteco poblano pepper and it hits. Highly recommend eating with some of the salsa as well if you get queso. The duck carnitas in it wasn't particularly duck-y today, but still very good. Best dish is definitely the tuetano. The bone marrow is so incredibly flavorful with the blue corn tortillas. Add some of the pickled onions and it's hard to go wrong with that flavor combo of salt, fat, and acid. if you're going to order one thing, I'd order this and share with a friend and tbh it's enough to be filling. For dessert we got the volcan de chocolate (basically lava cake). The lava cake and coconut ice cream combo is fantastic. You get bits of coconut flakes as you eat! Fair warning it isn't the brownie texture you may be used to, it's a bit more cakey. Amazing service the whole night! Almost got our cars booted because we forgot to validate until 1.5 hours in but luckily we were fine. The staff let us know they have been booting cars though so be wary!
