I chose this spot based on the great reviews and it did not disappoint. I was hoping for a collaborative experience and that is exactly what I got. I told Megan the general look I was going for but I wasn't sure what would look good so I asked for her thoughts. She gave great recommendations and feedback and I ended up with a very good looking cut. There was a small mix up with scheduling (and it really wasn't a big deal) but they made sure to make things right. Love this place. I've been coming here for years and it's always wonderful. The cuts are always sharp, detailed, and consistent. Prices are more than fair for the quality of cut and there are discounts for coming in frequently. After searching for years for a decent place to get my hair cut I finally found Windy's place and haven't looked back. After years she still takes such great care with my cut... every, single, time. The feel is more like a place for locals rather than a transient pit stop that just drives volume through their shop and rotates staff weekly. I have been to many barbershops throughout Seattle and the majority of them are good in their own right, however Windy's to me is the gold standard. I've been going to Windy's for several years now for cuts and colors. Primarily Windy has cut my hair but I've had several other people do it over time. I've been happy every time. Windy even takes pictures and notes so that when someone else does the cut she can pass on important information if she's not there to do it personally. Coming from someone who's going on 12 years of greens, blues, purples, reds, pinks, etc., Windy's color work is amazing. She uses high quality products and gives it a lot of thought. She will mix colors in such a way that as the color fades different shades and effects are revealed. She's also full of great advice on color maintenance and more. I've been to Marie for the past few months to get my hair cut and she seriously rules. She remembers details about how she cut it before, she's really nice, and she always has flawless nails. I am very averse to going out and getting my haircut, I've have a long string of awful experiences that keeps me scared off... so I tend to just keep it tied up and let it grow out. Lately it had been making me a bit sad, so after a great deal of over-researching and analysis paralysis I chose this place which was both nearby and non-threatening. I got a walk-in appointment. Easy-peasy. Lady who cut my hair was very nice, very welcoming, soft-spoken but making a lot of small talk. Generally I'm not into chit-chat like that and so it was a tiny bit annoying to me, but I'm just an introvert and know I have to deal with that whole part of the haircut ordeal. So yeah... she was pleasant and helpful. And did a great job on my hair! Yay! First time I've come out of a place in many years and not felt annoyed/disappointed. Awesome job. And since it was technically just a long-cut with a bit of layering it was only $35, from my research online I was prepared to be shocked with a $50+ bill. So double yay! Every time I leave Windy's, I leave impressed. If there was anything you didn't like about your last cut, she makes sure she knows about it and it will never happen again. She's the first barber that I've had who really understands hair and keeps an open line of communication during the cut, making sure to gather your input as she goes. She also turned me onto some great product at a reasonable price - which I use daily. Windy earns a five star rating as she's personable, chill, adapts well to your wants and needs, and knows hair. I've been going to her since 2012 when I moved to Seattle. Usually, I have a hard time trusting hair dressers as my hair is super thick and a bit crazy. I instantly felt at ease because she got to know me as a person and didn't freak out when she ran her fingers through my hair. Over the years, she's changed my style, and I have to admit I feel even more attractive. In addition, I've gotten several compliments on my cut, and men and women alike have asked who has done my hair. Her fades are even and smooth too. Best barber I've been to In Seattle. I usually go to cheap places but since I was graduating in a week I wanted to make sure it looked good. I went based off the incredible amount of 5 star reviews and they weren't wrong. The shop is small but cozy. There are 3 chairs so you're probably going to have to wait. They do accept walk-ins (which is what I was) however they look like they are super busy all the time. I came at 1 and their next opening was 5pm. I'm glad I didn't cancel it because I got a great haircut. I'm really bad at names but it was either andrew or jason. He was really helpful and knew what I wanted and was smart and dealt with my stubborn hair properly. He was really open to my ideas and I didn't feel dumb saying it. Really great service and after he was done he was able to touch up some things I wanted. I love my hair and it's great for graduation. Customer service is great. Greeted at the door and assisted with an appointment right away. Windy was really nice and friendly. Complimented my glasses and made conversation. Check in lady was also really nice and helpful. They have done extremely well negotiating scheduling with multiple issues due to the changing Covid landscape and recently weather related issues. They are one of the cleanest shops I've ever been to and they put the safety of their clients and team first. I'm new to the area and had been to a few different places looking for "the one" in terms of where I could get my hair cut. I've had some bad experiences in the past which resulted in having to shave my head so this has always been kind of important to me. Some of the other places I'd been to did a mediocre job and I always had random stray hairs sticking out the sides of my head. To give them some credit, I consider my hair to be kind of difficult to cut since I have really thick asian hair that just grows straight out on the side. Nonetheless, it's always kind of a pain to get home only to see those random stray hairs poking out of the sides of your head and you have to end up doing this weird motion of trying to trim it off yourself while looking in a mirror. Anyway, I finally found this place and saw the amazing reviews and figured I would give them a visit. To keep it short, I've been back a few times now and I feel like my haircuts have been progressively getting better. A huge thanks to Marie for being able to piece together what I wanted based on my very vague description of what I wanted. Marie has been the one to cut my hair since my first visit and the overall cut and experience has been better with each visit. She worked with me and with each successive visit; improved upon the previous iteration of my haircut till it came out exactly how I wanted it. Even though Windy's is about 30 minutes away from my place, I will gladly make the trip every time since I haven't found any better. Plus, they have parking which is awesome! I used to go to another 'hip' barber shop with multiple locations in Seattle, but I always found the staff to be somewhere between indifferent and surly, and as a result my haircut was rarely what I wanted. First time here and it was a great experience! Called in for an appointment in the morning and was able to get in by 1. Took my 20 month old in for a haircut and they were super friendly and accommodating. Jeremy did a great job and made him feel very comfortable. He asked me what I wanted for him and made sure I was happy with the haircut :) took his time and was extra careful and gently when he was using the clippers. EVERYONE that works in the salon are very nice and friendly. Windy, Holly and Virginia are all outstanding barbers and extremely knowledgeable on hair care products and services.
