Really clean and quaint cottage where we stayed for a night in Solvang. Stroller accessible if you're on the first floor. Really loved the pond area with the koi fish and the mini bridge. Reminded me of our time in Copenhagen and made us really wanna go back!!! Complimentary breakfast and wine tasting offered as well although we didn't make time for it. I'd stay here again.

I love the location of this charming hotel. Walkable to everything, in the middle of town. Looks like they have been working at updating the hotel. We had the Village Tower King Junior Suite, which was in the second floor with a view of the mountains. I loved the room and the bathroom was clean with a large walk in shower (all updated). I would love to see a little charm of the colorful outside brought into the rooms instead of the sterile Scandinavian grey and white shapes theme. Breakfast was just fine, all ordinary options. If you love a good breakfast head out to any of the breakfast oriented restaurants. My favorite is in Buellton to Ellen's Danish Pancake House. If you love a good Happy Hour, head out across the street to Mad Vin bar located in the Landby Hotel. The lovely bar area (not the restaurant) has a terrific area (outside patio too) to enjoy a good cocktail and a good Happy Hour food menu.

Wine Valley Inn & Cottages is not perfect, but the experience made it special. The rooms aren't a 10/10, but just being in that city is something you need to experience at least once in your life. Because of the rain, the only two roads into Solvang were closed, so we couldn't leave for two extra days and honestly, it turned into a blessing. The whole city felt magical, calm, and cozy, and we really got to enjoy it without rushing anywhere. It's one of those unexpected moments that makes a trip memorable.

What a charming inn located right in the heart of Solvang! My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights in August after finding an unbeatable deal online only a few weeks beforehand. We checked in late on a Friday night and found the reception staff to be very welcoming! We were pleasantly shocked by the size of the room, which felt HUGE for 2 people! We loved the roominess of the bathroom and especially the in-room fireplace. The room came with complimentary breakfast each morning, as well a complimentary wine tasting (with heavy pours, I will say) on Saturday night. The common area next to the reception space was adorable and stocked with lots of fun board games for guests to use free of charge. The twinkle lights hung throughout the property gave a magical feeling at night! I can't complain about the location - I'm not sure we could've been any closer to the main shopping streets and restaurants in Solvang. The grounds were very well kept as well. My only notes - parking lots fill up fast unfortunately, but thankfully, street parking is in steady supply nearby. Also, tragically, I found all the the pillows on the bed to be super lumpy. It was hard to find a comfortable position to sleep because of this. Since we road-tripped, I would just plan to bring my own pillow in the future.

We had the sweetest little weekend getaway here. The place is cozy, charming, and beautifully kept, and our room was very clean. I loved the thoughtful touches like the wine bottles to choose from and the log for the fireplace at night. It turned into the most romantic night. A foggy evening, live music next door, wine in hand, and just the most safe, peaceful, romantic feeling. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the location is perfect. It's tucked away yet right in the middle of all the restaurants, bakeries, wineries, and everything you need. Everything is walkable, and it's so fun and easy to explore on foot. Such a lovely, simple, and charming stay. Definitely will be back.

Got a ground floor room this time around - was smaller than previous room but big enough for two adults and a Husky. Only thing I didn't love was proximity to ice machine, but if that's worst thing that happens on a trip, I'll happily live w it!

This whimsical gem is my favorite place to stay in Solvang. I love the cottages--especially the jacuzzi--and always look forward to coming back. The staff is incredibly friendly, too.

The location of the motel is perfectly situated in the heart of Solvang and walking distance to all the attractions and festivities, particularly if you attend Danish Days in September. Thursday - Sunday they offer a complimentary glass of wine from 6-7 pm which is nice. We also received a free breakfast each morning - the usual dried cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, various breads and coffee. The room itself had some issues. The air conditioning didn't work and we had to call maintenence the first night. The beds were uncomfortable -lumpy, and very old/flat pillows. Although I liked that the sink and toilet were separated, there was no door between the bedroom and the sink area for privacy or to avoid disturbing the other person. So some of the basics for a restful, calming environment were not met.

I would give more than 5 stars if I could! What an adorable inn & such a pleasant overnight stay. Located right in the middle of town, within walking distance of so many shops & restaurants. We parked on arrival & simply walked the rest of the time, being so close to it all. When we arrived, the ladies at the front desk were very warm & welcoming, & accommodating of our request for a slightly early check-in, being that we arrived a little ahead of time. We had mentioned that it was my mom's birthday on initial arrival, & upon returning to go to our room, a birthday card & complimentary bottle of wine were waiting. So thoughtful, just above & beyond. The room was so comfortable - bed & pillows were extremely soft, shower was spacious with great water pressure & temp, large tv for entertainment. Includes nice shampoo, conditioner, & shower gel should you need, with clean linens, towels, etc. The exterior of the hotel is just as beautiful at night, well-lit & felt very safe, which is always reassuring for women traveling. Complimentary breakfast is offered from 7-10am, & included bagels, sausages, scrambled eggs, cereals, local breads, juices, & more. I so enjoyed my time here. If you're looking for a place to stay in Solvang, this is the spot! Couldn't have asked for better for the first time in this cute town. Thank you Wine Valley Inn!

When you combine the two, I'm sure the maintenance of the facilities is quite the task. The checkin was through Cloud beds, which meant there was absolutely no personal contact whatsoever. I checked in via a link, was given a code and viola. The motel has gone through some cosmetic restoration, but I'm not sure it's enough for a 5 star recommendation. The tub was chipped, the paint was chipped in several places and we could hear every step from our upstairs neighbors (well placed rugs or carpet may have been helpful). I am going to let you in on a little secret…read more... Yeah, I'm going to share with you what i THINK is the best kind of getaway, well, at least in my humble opinion. It's the kind that doesn't abruptly end, but it just sort of.... keeps on going. Let me explain. Have you ever gone on vacation and said to yourself, or to your spouse or even to your kids.... "Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! Spread the word! Pass it along! Tell a friend! Come check out the Landsby in Solvang!!

I was hoping they would have a check in machine similar to vegas hotels since no live staff. It was pretty loud to hear as another group was trying to check in too. I am giving a 3 due to service. The balcony door's lock was not working. I text them when we checked in to report issue with no response. The hotel room was beautiful and pleasant. I loved the nespresso coffee, the lounge area. They also had a reading lounge. Everything was artistic with great color, very new and clean. Another issue I had was that I booked through a 3rd party and prepaid room when over night I received an extra charge notification. When I called in the morning around 6:30 am I was advised no manger was available until 7 am and someone would call me then. I waited until 7:30 am as no one called me I called again. I was advised they were having systems issues with their app. Since it was a 3rd party the app was charging me the 3rd party charge. Which was $50 less what I paid to the 3rd party. I advised them I had already prepaid. They advised me they would release hold in 2-3 days. I called the 3rd party to advise the above. They called Winston staff as they shortly after sent me a text. I do believe Winston was in error to charge me while I had already paid the 3rd party. The funds were released the next day. Keep an eye on credit card notifications if stay here. Other than the above issue and Check in service I would stay here again. The room was comfortable with the exception of the balcony door not locking.

We had to call several times: For more towels, for more instant coffee (there's an electric kettle in a small kitchen with a microwave), and to figure out how to work the TV (which had a box literally hanging off of it and dangling down the wall), apparently not an uncommon issue since there's a note saying to call before 9 pm if the TV won't work. We also had to specifically request the breakfast and 2-for-1 wine tasting coupons advertised. That said, each time someone helpfully turned up (or offered to do so). But each time it also felt like the bare minimum (how many towels do you want; how many coffee packets?) Also had ants in the kitchen and had to text several times to get that taken care of; returned to a room smelling like unpleasant disinfectant and ... ants. Room was otherwise clean and cute. Bed was big and comfortable. Sheets / linens somewhat basic but not at all bad. We were in No. 2, which had a nice sitting area and lots of light if you don't mind everyone walking past on the street seeing you. And they kindly moved someone else who was just arriving around so we could stay put for another night and not switch rooms. Surprisingly quiet from the outside, though. Inside, another story. I don't know what they were doing above us - one can only imagine - but it went until well after midnight and started up again around 7 am. Tromping and banging that made our whole room shake a bit. Didn't hear our neighbors to the side or anything from the courtyard (also cute and a nice place to sit in the morning). All this said, I'd recommend, and I'd stay there again. We looked at a few hotels before choosing this one and it was by far nicer than most of them, with bigger rooms and just a better vibe.
