I love the location of this charming hotel. Walkable to everything, in the middle of town. Looks like they have been working at updating the hotel. We had the Village Tower King Junior Suite, which was in the second floor with a view of the mountains. I loved the room and the bathroom was clean with a large walk in shower (all updated). I would love to see a little charm of the colorful outside brought into the rooms instead of the sterile Scandinavian grey and white shapes theme. Breakfast was just fine, all ordinary options. If you love a good breakfast head out to any of the breakfast oriented restaurants. My favorite is in Buellton to Ellen's Danish Pancake House. If you love a good Happy Hour, head out across the street to Mad Vin bar located in the Landby Hotel. The lovely bar area (not the restaurant) has a terrific area (outside patio too) to enjoy a good cocktail and a good Happy Hour food menu.

Really clean and quaint cottage where we stayed for a night in Solvang. Stroller accessible if you're on the first floor. Really loved the pond area with the koi fish and the mini bridge. Reminded me of our time in Copenhagen and made us really wanna go back!!! Complimentary breakfast and wine tasting offered as well although we didn't make time for it. I'd stay here again.

Wine Valley Inn & Cottages is not perfect, but the experience made it special. The rooms aren't a 10/10, but just being in that city is something you need to experience at least once in your life. Because of the rain, the only two roads into Solvang were closed, so we couldn't leave for two extra days and honestly, it turned into a blessing. The whole city felt magical, calm, and cozy, and we really got to enjoy it without rushing anywhere. It's one of those unexpected moments that makes a trip memorable.

What a charming inn located right in the heart of Solvang! My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights in August after finding an unbeatable deal online only a few weeks beforehand. We checked in late on a Friday night and found the reception staff to be very welcoming! We were pleasantly shocked by the size of the room, which felt HUGE for 2 people! We loved the roominess of the bathroom and especially the in-room fireplace. The room came with complimentary breakfast each morning, as well a complimentary wine tasting (with heavy pours, I will say) on Saturday night. The common area next to the reception space was adorable and stocked with lots of fun board games for guests to use free of charge. The twinkle lights hung throughout the property gave a magical feeling at night! I can't complain about the location - I'm not sure we could've been any closer to the main shopping streets and restaurants in Solvang. The grounds were very well kept as well. My only notes - parking lots fill up fast unfortunately, but thankfully, street parking is in steady supply nearby. Also, tragically, I found all the the pillows on the bed to be super lumpy. It was hard to find a comfortable position to sleep because of this. Since we road-tripped, I would just plan to bring my own pillow in the future.

We had the sweetest little weekend getaway here. The place is cozy, charming, and beautifully kept, and our room was very clean. I loved the thoughtful touches like the wine bottles to choose from and the log for the fireplace at night. It turned into the most romantic night. A foggy evening, live music next door, wine in hand, and just the most safe, peaceful, romantic feeling. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the location is perfect. It's tucked away yet right in the middle of all the restaurants, bakeries, wineries, and everything you need. Everything is walkable, and it's so fun and easy to explore on foot. Such a lovely, simple, and charming stay. Definitely will be back.

Got a ground floor room this time around - was smaller than previous room but big enough for two adults and a Husky. Only thing I didn't love was proximity to ice machine, but if that's worst thing that happens on a trip, I'll happily live w it!

The location of the motel is perfectly situated in the heart of Solvang and walking distance to all the attractions and festivities, particularly if you attend Danish Days in September. Thursday - Sunday they offer a complimentary glass of wine from 6-7 pm which is nice. We also received a free breakfast each morning - the usual dried cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, various breads and coffee. The room itself had some issues. The air conditioning didn't work and we had to call maintenence the first night. The beds were uncomfortable -lumpy, and very old/flat pillows. Although I liked that the sink and toilet were separated, there was no door between the bedroom and the sink area for privacy or to avoid disturbing the other person. So some of the basics for a restful, calming environment were not met.

I would give more than 5 stars if I could! What an adorable inn & such a pleasant overnight stay. Located right in the middle of town, within walking distance of so many shops & restaurants. We parked on arrival & simply walked the rest of the time, being so close to it all. When we arrived, the ladies at the front desk were very warm & welcoming, & accommodating of our request for a slightly early check-in, being that we arrived a little ahead of time. We had mentioned that it was my mom's birthday on initial arrival, & upon returning to go to our room, a birthday card & complimentary bottle of wine were waiting. So thoughtful, just above & beyond. The room was so comfortable - bed & pillows were extremely soft, shower was spacious with great water pressure & temp, large tv for entertainment. Includes nice shampoo, conditioner, & shower gel should you need, with clean linens, towels, etc. The exterior of the hotel is just as beautiful at night, well-lit & felt very safe, which is always reassuring for women traveling. Complimentary breakfast is offered from 7-10am, & included bagels, sausages, scrambled eggs, cereals, local breads, juices, & more. I so enjoyed my time here. If you're looking for a place to stay in Solvang, this is the spot! Couldn't have asked for better for the first time in this cute town. Thank you Wine Valley Inn!

I read through some of the negative reviews before booking, and honestly, I think they completely missed the mark. This hotel sits right at the beginning of the Solvang strip, and in my opinion, it's the perfect location. You're just steps away from all the shops, restaurants, and even one of the local breweries, but far enough from the center of town that you can actually enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. If you're someone who insists on staying right in the middle of all the action, this may not be the spot for you--but don't expect much quiet over there! The hotel has been newly renovated, and our room was adorable, clean, and very comfortable. The staff was incredibly accommodating and quick to respond to anything we needed. They truly made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The property itself isn't huge, but they did an excellent job making the most of the space. There's a cute full-service bar with indoor and outdoor seating, a café offering breakfast, pastries, coffee, and a surprisingly good selection of food throughout the day. The lobby also has a convenient grab-and-go market, and outside you'll find a cozy fire pit lounge with games and a relaxing water feature that makes for a great place to unwind in the evening. There isn't a pool, but honestly, that's not why you come to Solvang. If you're looking for outdoor adventures, you're just a short drive from Lake Cachuma and the beach. But let's be real--most people come here for the amazing food, wine, shopping, and the charming Danish village atmosphere, and this hotel puts you close to all of it. I'm actually surprised there aren't more reviews for this property because it was completely sold out during our stay, and now I understand why. Out of the several Hilton properties I stayed at during my trip this week, this one was easily my favorite. Great job to the entire team! You all set the standard for hospitality. Hopefully, the San Francisco Hilton team can take a few notes from you!

I am going to let you in on a little secret…read more... Yeah, I'm going to share with you what i THINK is the best kind of getaway, well, at least in my humble opinion. It's the kind that doesn't abruptly end, but it just sort of.... keeps on going. Let me explain. Have you ever gone on vacation and said to yourself, or to your spouse or even to your kids.... "Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! Spread the word! Pass it along! Tell a friend! Come check out the Landsby in Solvang!!

I was hoping they would have a check in machine similar to vegas hotels since no live staff. It was pretty loud to hear as another group was trying to check in too. I am giving a 3 due to service. The balcony door's lock was not working. I text them when we checked in to report issue with no response. The hotel room was beautiful and pleasant. I loved the nespresso coffee, the lounge area. They also had a reading lounge. Everything was artistic with great color, very new and clean. Another issue I had was that I booked through a 3rd party and prepaid room when over night I received an extra charge notification. When I called in the morning around 6:30 am I was advised no manger was available until 7 am and someone would call me then. I waited until 7:30 am as no one called me I called again. I advised them I had already prepaid. They advised me they would release hold in 2-3 days. I called the 3rd party to advise the above. They called Winston staff as they shortly after sent me a text. I do believe Winston was in error to charge me while I had already paid the 3rd party. The funds were released the next day. Keep an eye on credit card notifications if stay here. Before we arrived, I reached out to the hotel to see if there was anything they offered for birthdays. They told me they normally don't do much, which I completely understood, but the woman at the front desk, I believe her name was Geidy, said she would personally see what she could do. I had absolutely no idea just how far she was willing to go. I had balloons and a birthday cake being delivered to the hotel, and Geidy personally met the delivery drivers, collected everything, and set it all up in our room while we were out at breakfast. She kept in touch with me the entire morning, texting updates while I intentionally delayed our arrival so she could finish everything. When we finally walked into the room, it was beautiful. She had arranged the balloons, cake, complimentary bottles from the hotel, and even bought my girlfriend flowers with her own money. She also left a handwritten birthday note from the hotel wishing her a happy birthday and thanking her for spending her special day there. When I thanked her afterward, she was literally sweating from running back and forth getting everything ready for us--in well over 100-degree heat. She treated my girlfriend's birthday like it was important to her too, and that's something we'll never forget. The hotel itself was wonderful, but what made this stay truly unforgettable was Geidy's kindness and generosity. It's incredibly rare to meet someone who genuinely cares that much about making a stranger's experience special. We'll absolutely be staying at the Vinland every time we visit Solvang. And Geidy, if you happen to read this: thank you. You made my girlfriend's birthday so much more memorable than I ever could have on my own. Your kindness meant the world to both of us.

We had to call several times: For more towels, for more instant coffee (there's an electric kettle in a small kitchen with a microwave), and to figure out how to work the TV (which had a box literally hanging off of it and dangling down the wall), apparently not an uncommon issue since there's a note saying to call before 9 pm if the TV won't work. We also had to specifically request the breakfast and 2-for-1 wine tasting coupons advertised. That said, each time someone helpfully turned up (or offered to do so). But each time it also felt like the bare minimum (how many towels do you want; how many coffee packets?) Also had ants in the kitchen and had to text several times to get that taken care of; returned to a room smelling like unpleasant disinfectant and ... ants. Room was otherwise clean and cute. Bed was big and comfortable. Sheets / linens somewhat basic but not at all bad. We were in No. 2, which had a nice sitting area and lots of light if you don't mind everyone walking past on the street seeing you. And they kindly moved someone else who was just arriving around so we could stay put for another night and not switch rooms. Surprisingly quiet from the outside, though. Inside, another story. I don't know what they were doing above us - one can only imagine - but it went until well after midnight and started up again around 7 am. Tromping and banging that made our whole room shake a bit. Didn't hear our neighbors to the side or anything from the courtyard (also cute and a nice place to sit in the morning). All this said, I'd recommend, and I'd stay there again. We looked at a few hotels before choosing this one and it was by far nicer than most of them, with bigger rooms and just a better vibe.

They offer the passport for wine tasting which is a nice extra but we don't drink. We were in the back of the inn, Room 4 on the ground floor with quick access to the parking lot, very convenient! Check in was contactless and smooth. It was done via email and/or text message. The spacious, very clean room had high ceilings and is simply decorated with nice laminate floors. It had nice privacy shades and we could open the windows in the bedroom area. The bathroom was huge! It would have been nice to see an actual vanity instead of an impractical pedestal sink. Thankfully there was a small set of drawers next to the sink for storage. The sink was slow to drain and may need a dose of Drano. Our bed was a little hard for us but the pillows and the bedding were nice. This is such a cute, charming little inn that was able to accommodate all of our family members easily so it made it so special. We gathered here to celebrate our son's birthday. A great fact here is that there is an elevator. The stairs are rather steep so having the elevator made it convenient especially hauling suitcases and bags to the upstairs rooms. The courtyard with seating is very nice and quaint. The mural is great! The cost was extremely reasonable considering all of the benefits of staying here. The location is so ideal. We were within walking distance to everything in Solvang. Just a jump, skip, & a hop away from Mortensen's Bakery. Plus being on a cul-de-sac there's not any heavy traffic or road noise to worry about. It was a very comfortable Solvang "home base." We hope to stay here next year!

The property has a spacious lobby, plenty of outdoor seating with cozy fire pits, a nice swimming pool with a Jacuzzi, and a complimentary breakfast served daily from 6:00 to 10:00 a.m. One of our favorite features was the peaceful setting. Behind the hotel is a small hillside, which gives the property a quiet, secluded feel surrounded by nature. In the evenings, we loved relaxing by the fire pits, enjoying takeout dinner paired with some local wines. The pool area was well maintained, with plenty of fresh towels and ample lounge chairs. The complimentary breakfast had a good variety of options, including bread, omelets, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, muffins, oatmeal, and fresh coffee. They also offer a 24/7 coffee station in the lobby along with complimentary apples, which was a nice touch. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was very cozy, and the hotel was quiet at night, making it easy to get a good night's sleep. There's also a great brewery nearby that's worth checking out for good food and drinks. If you're planning to visit Solvang and Santa Barbara, I would definitely recommend staying here.
