The 10 piece garlic parmesan wings were good if not a little on the small side. The 7 piece fried shrimp for $7.99 were mediocre at best. They were definitely of the frozen variety that you could buy at any store. They didn't have ANY taste and were small as well. Id avoid them completely. Very mediocre food. The wings were ok, the combination fried rice was ok. Adding duck sauce didn't help much. If you're in a rush and just need to call and pick up something, it'll work. But otherwise, I'd say head somewhere else for a good wing and fried rice plate. The service is just ok too. They are moving so fast that they aren't really hearing what you are asking. read more

3 stars may seem like a bad rating, but it's not. It just means "average." Let me explain. When I went here for a quick lunch, I wanted saucy nugs ("boneless wings"). From looking at the menu though, I appeared to not have that option, just standard wings, whole wings, or regular nuggets. I ordered regular nuggets and a cup of sauce, since dipping nuggets is close enough to saucy nugs for me. Ordering nuggets at a wings place was probably a mistake. Pretty sure the nugs are the sort sold in a frozen pack. Granted, they tasted fine, and I wasn't expecting anything gourmet, but still. They do have a nice selection of sauces. Anyway, as long as you're looking for something on par or maybe a step above fast food, this place is just fine, and locally-owned to boot. Just don't go looking for fancier than that. read more

Located right before the Racetrac in a small strip mall next to a nail salon. Wing city, is good, fast, professional. A co-worker recommended this place to me, and I was sold on the taste and texture of day old microwaved leftovers he offered me... So I had to try the fresh wings the next day I wanted to try lemon pepper, ranch and extra hot so naturally I called to place an ordeer for a 15 piece wing, no fries. Unfortunately they only allow two flavors and don't offer the option to pay for any additional flavors so I ordered a 10-piece wing order with extra hot and lemon pepper and a 6-piece order of ranch flavored wings. I called to place an order for my mom who was about to pull up to wing city in two to three mins. The phone ring three times the lady pick up and scream we close and hung up. I'm looking at the phone like I know it's after 11am what she have an attitude for this early. So I call my mom and say they close she answer and said they close and hung up sound like she have a bad attitude sure enough my mom like they not close I just pullled up I'll just go in. A decent place if you're in the mood for some wings. I had the sweet chili wings and fries. The wings weren't spicy like I'd come to expect from other wingeries and the fries are from the box but all in all a good value for the price. For three 6pc wings and fries with a drink I paid less than $25 total. The others loves their spicy bbq and sweet teriyaki wings so maybe it was just mine that were hit and miss. This is very nitpicky, but I wish they would get an easier to open trashcan that involves less touching it. The wings are what I give the 4 stars on. This was a good addition to chalmette. I love the lemon pepper. The other one star was not given because of the other items I have purchased such as the combination fried rice. I never can find the meat in the plate. It lacks flavor but it's not the worst rice I've had. So I give wing city 4/5 stars. read more

Cons: A bit overpriced, A/C too cold, ambiance is off. My grilled softshell crab was good; very flavorful! The creamed spinach felt like it was missing a little something, but that could've been because it had to compete with the crab.

The Real Deal - Still My Favorite After 9 Years…read more I wrote my first review for this place back in February 2017, and here we are in April 2026. After nine years of lunches and dinners, I just had to come back and say thank you. In a city that's constantly changing with fancy new tourist spots or quick grab and go windows, this place is a constant. It hasn't changed, and that's exactly why I love it. When I walk in and grab a seat, I feel right at home. It's casual, it's comfortable, and it's the real New Orleans. The food is just as good today as it was nearly a decade ago. I find myself constantly craving their po-boys and gumbo. Whether it's the hot fish, the stuffed peppers, or the mashed potatoes, you can tell everything is made with quality ingredients and a lot of love. The family that runs this business has a huge heart for the community, and it shows. If you are a local looking for authentic Cajun food that stays true to its roots, look no further. This is the kind of staple we are lucky to have.

I'm so glad I did. The guy working behind the counter told me they had just started doing something new. I don't know what they did, but it's absolutely astounding. Very rich (for a pho). TONS of beef. One bowl is enough for two people imo. The crawfish boudin is another standout menu option. When it warms up a bit I want to try their snowballs too!
