I originally came here shortly after it opened and felt it was a solid addition to local restaurants. It had beer and a decent margarita. It was open on Sunday, and the wings were good. It was on the front edge of chicken places showing up. I didn't really come back. Wings aren't really a top choice for me. Other places showed up with beer and Sunday hours. We were looking for a sports bar that was open late and Wing Nutz was one of the only local options. We came in to watch the last bit of the Jazz game and grab a bit to eat. The food was just about what we expected. We ordered nachos with chipotle lime chicken and it tasted like the whole thing was marinated in liquid smoke. It wasn't my favorite but it wasn't the worst. I'm wondering if they would've tasted better without the meat added to it. This location of wing nuts is by far the best out of all the locations in Utah. We prefer to sit at the bar because we get quicker service. During the week they are usually well staffed, but it seems like through the weekend they are understaffed, so Service might be a little slower hence why we sit at the bar... as far a covid governance the staff wears masks but going on weekend this past Saturday, was full capacity. They do need a better system for take out orders. All the orders stack up at the far end of the bar. There's no room for people to wait and they stand to close to tables with no mandate on guests wearing masks. The food has always been excellent. I love that they bake all their foods and there's been only one time where I've had a quesadilla with a little too much sauce. I enjoy ordering their quesadillas, wraps, and their spicy chips. They have a nice kick to them. My kids love their chips and salsa, the salsa is fresh and chunky. They did mess up and bring out my order extremely late and it was missing the spicy chips. The best part about this place is that the wings are baked and excellently crispy. They also swapped out the carrots/celery (which I am not fond of) and replaced it with sliced cucumber, at no extra charge, which made me happy. Unfortunately the rest of the experience was not the greatest. I was not a fan of any of the sauces. I tried the Jalepeno Honey BBQ, Pineapple curry, and the mild Chili one. The service was super slow and there were only 4 other people in the place during lunch hours. I read the reviews about their buffalo chips coming out overdone, but I thought I'd give them a chance. Nope. The fries were definitely overdone, even after I asked them to cook my son's a little less so the edges wouldn't be burnt. The regular and spicy both needed more seasoning too. It was a disappointment. Usually, food is a joy to me, and I only like to consume foods that make me happy for the rest of the day. I had an exceptional experience at Wing Nutz. The food and ambience was superb. My bartender Whitney recommended a Cajun dry rub and the flavor was amazing and not too overwhelming. Whitney was extremely helpful, fast to get drinks out and had great conversation during the few down times. It was a game night and she handled a lot of customers quickly and professionally. Policy wise, I brought my own drink in from walking around and they were so rude about it. Not only did they say I couldn't have it in their restaurant (which was annoying but reasonable), but they stood by our table and waited for me to take it to my car or throw it away. When I mentioned that the policy was obnoxious, the server just got a huge attitude and said "hey dude, not my policy." In the rudest tone imaginable. Here is what I learned from my Wing Nutz experience. 1. The boneless wings are not a traditional boneless wing. This means that they are not breaded, but rather grilled. It honestly tasted like a cut up chicken breast dipped in watery sauce. 2. There is not enough staff. One waitress on a busy Saturday night. 3. Only order a side if you want it to come 15 minutes before your meal. 4. Asking the staff for a salt, ketchup, drink menu, or refill on water is equivalent to asking Donald Trump to leave office. Childish and seemingly impossible. 5. After 20 minutes of waiting on my food, the waitress pops off "Just to let you know we close at 10." EXCUSE ME mam....its 9:28 and I got here before 9pm. 6. You will have to wait 20 minutes for the waitress to come give us the bill. I think that it is a management issue because there was only one waitress. Long story short. Do not go here. I enjoy coming here once or twice a week, Their wings are far better than Buffalo Wild Wings or anything else you can find around town. They do bake them instead of fry them so expect a little bit longer wait but it's totally worth it. We usually sit at the bar because service is pretty fast there. Gabe is a fantastic bartender, he is always super quick to refill our beers and make sure we are taken care of. I definitely recommend trying the mixed chips as an appetizer, sometimes they come out a bit crispy but if you get them topped with cheese or pulled pork they are perfect! Beers on tap here are super reasonably priced and they have a good selection. But if you are expecting a $4 bottle of Stella you're at the wrong place... stick with some of the local beers. What a poor representation of business practices for a company. I would highly suggest that if you're not from this area you do not venture to this venue if this is how they handle things. Let me just premise this by the fact that the DJ for the evening was legit. He trucked through all of the drunken antics of the people there which is respectable. I'd say that he handled things way better as a person unbiased by the activities going on. Now, let's get to the meat of what went on. My friend had been tossed out due to trying to apologize to someone. I could care less if you're trying to protect your business, but do it for the right reasons. Do it for the person that is trying to fix things, and not those who harm your business by acting up. There are correct reasons to do so really, but unfortunately what went on was not one of them. If you're going to protect those that antagonize others, you're doing things wrong as a business model and as an owner. This just shows consumers how lackluster it is; that you do not value anyone else outside of your own personal circle or someone that is a local. Aside from this though, the waitress staff was awesome. With all of the people we had with us, they kept the drinks straight and differentiated the bills effectively. This was the only good point of the night. I wish I could give a better rating specifically for them, but at this point I certainly could not warrant giving the business credit for their efforts.
