Exceptional experience on a large order! We ordered BBQ and sides for around 180 people at a wedding. Ordering process, pickup, food quality, and value were all very, very good. We would enthusiastically recommend True Texas BBQ as an alternative for full catering of big gatherings. I spoke with the manager a couple of weeks ahead of time and he walked me through how everything worked. I returned about a week before the event and worked with one of the counter folks to place my order. She was great to work with and made sure that we ended up in the right place. Particular appreciation for her helping me through the notes to get the food packaged in a way that let us simply take covers off and serve (a little different than the default packaging, which puts several items in the same pan). We ordered through the touch screen. We picked up the food around noon on the day of the event. The food was packaged correctly and ready to serve, sliced and hot. Food was ready as promised during the order process. We arrived at the venue and used ovens on their lowest settings as warmers, as the meal was served around 6pm. Food quality was really great. We had around 45 lb brisket, 35 lb turkey, and 35 lb sausage, with beans, mac & cheese, coleslaw, and potato salad. In particular, the fat brisket and turkey got big thumbs-up from the attendees, as well as the mac & cheese and beans. We were asked by several attendees, "where did y'all get this? It's really good!" Didn't hear a single complaint from any of the eaters, including a few that are really particular about their BBQ. Value for $$ was top-notch. We ended up paying around $16/head for everything, which was ~10 oz meat per person, plus sides. (Dessert was wedding cake.) Turned out to be the right size of order -- we almost ran out of brisket and mac & cheese, and had a little bit (less than 5 lbs) left over of turkey and sausage, and the other sides. The leftovers fed us for a couple of days, which is exactly how I want a big BBQ order to work. Bit of advice: If you're doing a big order, I'd say go in a week ahead of time and discuss it with them. I think getting all of my questions, and their questions for me, answered early made this order work far easier than it would have if I'd waited until the day before to make the order. All in all, an outstanding experience that saved us probably 50-70% of cost compared to a normal catering. Big thumbs up to the whole crew! They really took care of us. We will 100% use them again for events like this. read more

I have been to this location multiple times and so has my elderly mother. I have encountered an employee by the name of "James" each of those times and my mother a few times as well. EACH of those times "James" has been absolutely horrible to both of us on separate occasions.The first few times I let it go. I know everyone has "bad days" and I try and understand before placing judgement. My mother informed me he has been nasty to her the encounters she's had as well. Well today took the cake. I was unable to get the machine to work to place my order. James was near the window by the machine. He looks up at me and I say I needed help with the machine. This man "Shoos" me away with his hand!! It was shocking. I try again a few more times to get the machine to work unsuccessfully and I then proceed to walk down to the window/door and James comes down and slams the window at me!! It was literally something you would see out of a movie skit. I then had 2 very nice employees come out to help me. I'm positive they are embarrassed by him as well. I didn't catch one of the helpful employees name ( He wasn't able to get the machine to work either but very kind) and another young man named Josiah who was able to get the order submitted. Both were apologetic. I feel sorry for each of the employees that have to put up with this man every day. These employees deserve a huge pay increase to be able to be next to this miserable angry man all day long. I am so shocked HEB allows an employee to treat customers like this ALL THE TIME! I was really looking forward to trying out the new H‑E‑B BBQ, however the experience and taste just wasn't worth the price unfortunately. I ordered the 3 meat plate (and paid extra for the ribs). The entire order was served in a very small plastic covered tray. I thought I'd been given the wrong order. It was literally the size of a kids lunch-able. The ribs were tough and chewy and very small...think the size of your finger. Brisket was ok but pulled pork didn't have much taste or flavor. My daughter ordered turkey and left 1/2 of it since it was too tough to chew. It's outdoor with no AC and all plastic trays and silverware. Chairs very uncomfortable. Hopefully H‑E‑B will make some improvements and work out the kinks to offer a better dining experience and food. It would also be nice to offer beer/wine and a larger selection of beverages. Oh and would be nice to pick my own condiments like onions, pickles, mayo, etc. Marble Falls needs some better BBQ options but unfortunately this was a miss. read more

Always solid! Consistent & delicious meats. Love the brisket and ribs, pulled pork is good but can have big chunks of fat. Sausages are small but priced accordingly, I'd say 4 to a normal sized link. Arrived just after it opened on a Sunday morning. You have to order from a computer kiosk - the kiosk said 80 percent of all of the menu items were sold out. Had to rap on the window for a cook to help me order - everything was an exception. Then, you can't pay cash - you have to go inside, stand in a line at a register to pay. My parents are elderly and there is a HUGE retirement population here - don't think this will go over well. As far as the food, my mom said the brisket was too peppery. read more
