Door Dash order Bad storm and was unable to get out my hotel After reviewing Yelp I discovered Turkey and Wings Called to get a clear picture of how I wanted to order Ordered the chopped bbq Turkey platter with Mac n cheese and collard greens Turkey was seasoned and tasty Mac n cheese was ok... not fry or unseasoned Collard greens we're good Garlic Parmesan wings were really good Came with one side (requested to have yams) ended up with Mac n Cheese Overall I need to go into establishment to order Wait time given was 90 minutes but it arrived in an hour Food was warm and we enjoyed it

TLDR: Long wait times. Poor customer service. Great food. Loved the garlic parmesan wings, mac and cheese, and yams. Wingz should have a pick-up area for online orders since the drive thru can be slow. I ordered takeout online on a weekday evening. The estimated wait time was 20-25 min after I ordered. However, I received a text that the order was ready for pick-up about 5 minutes later. I arrived at the drive thru about 15 minutes later. After waiting around 10 minutes in a stationary line of cars, I parked and walked in. The dining room is open again and only a few customers were inside. Although I was the second person in line (behind someone who already ordered and paid), it took over 5 minutes for them to acknowledge me. I said I was there to pick up my order and told them my name. They found the order and confirmed it with me. Turns out it still was not ready. Finally I received my order, I was too hungry to check it and drove home. Thankfully the order was accurate and everything tasted great. I would have left a much lower review if we hadn't enjoyed the food so much. They know how to season their food. Yes it's mainly with garlic, salt, butter, and pepper but still. We liked the wings the best followed closely by the mac and cheese, yams, and turkey bbq. I don't think I've had turkey bbq so I wasn't sure what to expect. I think I may like it better than pork bbq. Lots of flavor with less fat. Overall, not a great experience at first, but it ended well.

I ordered the turkey BBQ sandwich with fries from this spot and it was delicious. I dogged every last bit on my plate. I stopped eating pork for awhile now and my cousin told me about this place for some turkey BBQ. We had just left Smithfield BBQ so I was definitely hyped about my turkey BBQ after smelling my cousins food, lol. We went through drive-thru and the staff were very friendly and the servce was fast. As soon as I left the drive-thru I was about to check in via Yelp and was shocked at all the negative reviews. I was too embarrassed to check in, lol. I prayed on the way to my cousin house that the food would be good. Honey, when I bit into that first piece I started doing the happy dance. That turkey BBQ sandwich was delicious! It was juicy and reminded me of the pork version a little. I didn't get the cole slaw but when I added a little hot sauce to it, it gave it that final kick. I ordered a side of fries with no salt and they were also delicious. Iam so happy I didn't check the reviews first because I might not have given this spot a chance. I definitely will return here for another turkey BBQ, oh and to try some of their wings. My cousin said the wings she's ordered from here were good and she's never had any issues. Sometimes you just have to ignore the reviews and check places and foods out for yourself. Lol

He said it was the best meatloaf he ever had and this comes from a picky eater! He loved the Mac and cheese as well. It was a huge serving so I got to try the meatloaf and he was right. He didn't share the Mac and cheese. Neither of us cared for the baked beans. I had the brisket, Brussel sprouts and potato salad. The brisket was tender and flavorful. Awesome. The potato salad was ok but I didn't care for the Brussel sprouts . I would try two different sides next time. A basket of hush puppies and biscuits came as well. We were both so thirsty and I can report they had excellent sweet tea. Our server was knowledgeable and pleasant. The food came out faster than I expected. We will be back!

We sat down in the dining room after finding menus. After deciding what we wanted, we got in line to place our order. My partner ordered the ribs with collard greens and fries. Everything we ordered was very good, and everyone at the table was happy with their meal. There were a couple of minor service details that could have been better. They put a roll of paper towels on the table, but ours was empty. I also noticed after the fact that our table had two bottles of the sweet BBQ sauce, while other tables appeared to have both the sweet sauce and a more vinegary BBQ sauce. That was a little disappointing because I really did not care for the sweet sauce and wish I had known there was another option before I had already eaten most of my sandwich. Those were small issues, though. Overall, the food was excellent, the experience was enjoyable, and I would definitely go back.

I took a seat at the outdoor bar and started with some smoked wings. 5 whole wings, so really 10 wings at most places. Meat was juicy enough, maybe I was hoping for more of a dry rub though. I used the tangy BBQ sauce and sweet BBQ sauce on them, and they certainly enhanced the flavor. I usually like mustard based sauces, but theirs was little more peppery than I wanted Then, per the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the brisket melt sandwich, and it was the undisputed highlight of the meal Muenster cheese, thinly sliced white onion, pickle chips, and a good load of horseradish sauce. The brisket had an amazing flavor, and all the other toppings came together beautifully. But that Union bakery bun is just another level. It's like brioche, it was so soft, but somehow a little more substantial. For my side dish, I went with the sweet potatoes with goat cheese, pepitas, and agave. This was just ok. For me, the potatoes could have been cooked longer, a little more crispness would have really helped. I did think the goat cheese was a unique flavor with a milder ingredient like a sweet potato, but it did work with the other ingredients pretty well. Only one unisex bathroom and it's small, so be warned!

I ordered a combo plate of chicken pastry and bbq pork, with sides of fried okra and potato salad. Everything was served piping hot, just as it should be. The Chicken Pastry (chicken and dumplings) had wonderful flavor and was comfort food at its finest with thick and wide chewy noodle dumplings. So often chicken and dumpling dishes can be overly salty but Ole Time Barbecue's was perfectly seasoned. The barbecue pork also had great flavor and also was seasoned perfectly, though unfortunately I can't do even the most mild of spicy, so even tho there were only a few red pepper flakes, they made it a little bit challenging for me to eat. The fried okra was cooked and seasoned perfectly and not at all oily and the potato salad was also really tasty. I also tasted their coleslaw and mac and cheese from Hubs dinner and both were delicious as well. Also loved their sweet tea, I got it 25% sweet . The biggest surprise was the large basket of tasty hush puppies brought to our table the minute we sat down, and refilled. Also delicious and seasoned perfectly. The location is very homey and diner like, with just a handful of tables so you may have to wait, though luckily we didn't. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was they served their sides in styrofoam containers versus reusable dishes like they use for their main courses. I do love that they're using reusable dishes for their mains so it seems like they could also do this for their sides. Less trash for the restaurant and better for the world... .

Customer service was first rate and terrific! A solid, solid bbq option. I polled my family and other guest and everyone agreed it was absolutely delicious. Opinions: We thought the collards were a bit vinegary/sour (not an issue for me) coleslaw was coleslaw - perhaps a tad bit less sweet than at some establishments. Hush puppies sweet, light, and airy. Ribs: similar to homemade Pulled Pork: solid - delicious Sauces: Eastern NC (swine wine), BBQ, Hot BBQ, many others Overall: a delicious option. I was thrilled that most of the menu was available. They were just out of the banana pudding. So I got to try the pecan wings I read about with the white sauce. It was so good. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. Service was friendly and as soon as I finished my iced tea, another appeared. My wings were brought out first and it was a while for the rest of the meal as the restaurant was full. But they didn't rush me at all. I actually liked the space between the dishes, as I might not have been able to eat it all otherwise.
