Ordered a Burger with Onion Rings & 5 count Wings ( Extra HOT Extra Crispy) Food was quick Hot & Very well presented. You can taste the fresh ingredients & quality. Onion Rings were very tasty & the Wings had my head sweating but not burning my taste buds ( perfect for my taste) Mohan was a very attentive server and friendly young man. ( truly an asset to Sammy's experience) I notice the other servers & bar staff engage with customers and patrons all seemed happy to share their spirit of hospitality here. Our server, Michael K, forgot numerous orders and was not attentive overall not a great experience. When the food was brought it was good! My daughter and I went there Sunday for lunch. She ordered a turkey sandwich and I ordered garlic parmesan wings and a cup of soup. I was served a bowl of soup instead of a cup. No big deal I could have said something but I figured what the heck. Soup was so salty that I could n't eat more than a few bites. Gave it to my daughter to try She took one bite and said no thanks. My wings were so covered in grease and they were not very good. Being that I paid for them and I was hungry I ate them. The service was fine, but in my opinion I believe a good waiter would see a full bowl of soup left over and question it , but nothing was said. After a short while, we both had upset stomachs. If you're out for drinks, pool, college co-eds and a place where everyone can know your name, then, Sammy's, located near North Carolina State University, is your place. If you want food that's amazing without a buzz, keep it moving. I love pub fare, and I love discovering surprisingly good pizza and wings in the most assuming places. After some research, I thought this would fit the bill. Disappointed is too small a word. To start, the tables were dirty. Because things seem a little chaotic, servers rushing, seat yourself yelled as you walk in the door, maybe tables don't get cleaned right away. But, that was a sign to keep it moving, but, I'm a sucker for red flags. Our server was very nice, he just seemed like he was in a hurry, which made me feel like I was inconveniencing him by asking first time visitor questions, and placing an order. Placing our order, he insisted that he would remember our order, but there were a few big misses that I just left alone. It's ok to write stuff down, youngins. There weren't a lot of servers. But it wasn't super busy yet. There were 3 in our party. We ordered fountain drinks-ginger ale, coke and lemonade. None of us even got halfway through one drink because they all tasted like they'd been run through moldy pipes-so, they surely need to clean and sanitize the drink machine. I was nauseous the rest of the night just thinking about what that thing looks like. For the food, we started with fried pickles and loaded potato skins. Each of these got a star. They were hot and fresh, and tasty. The pickles were battered just enough and fried well. There were 5 pretty big potato halves with a nice amount of toppings. I'd asked for the bacon on the side, but all of the toppings came on the side. They would've been better had the chives been fresh, or green onions, instead of dried. I can't believe that I didn't get a picture of them. Then, we ordered a personal size vegetable pizza, add beef, and red sauce instead of white sauce (he forgot this swap); a personal supreme-no mushroom, no sausage; chicken tenders w/ hand cut fries; and 10 lemon pepper wings-all flats ($2 up charge-no biggie), extra crispy. The personal pizza- it's served on a melamine cafeteria plate, which made the crust super soggy-a paper plate or cardboard box would've been better. Then, there was a weird sour taste to the cheese. It had a great pull, and I got excited, but that was soon deflated. The crust looked good on the edges, but was flavorless. I pushed through one slice, hoping that it would get better, it didn't. My husband, who eats a whole large pizza by himself, ate 1.5 pieces of his and was done. Lemon pepper wings: Ummm, they were wet. I was confused. I even asked what they were, thinking I'd ordered wrong, and that's when the server explained they're not dry like others. The sauce was a red sauce with pepper and lemon. Between the sour pizza and skunky fountain drinks, these were a no go for us as well. They just weren't good. And, they weren't all flats, as ordered. My daughter enjoyed the hand cut fries, but took one bite of a chicken tender and said it was chewy. We didn't complain because there were no substitutions we would have wanted. We packed everything up to take to our 15 year old son because he eats everything. I really wanted to just leave it on the table but I didn't want to stress out the server. We stacked our dishes and he thanked us for the stack. He got star as well, because he tried, but he should write orders down. read more

Here during a training event midday break. Plenty of parking and bonus, plenty of outdoor seating if you're in a group. I imagine later in the day it's gets busier but right now, very chill. Server, greeted and provided both food and drink menus which makes it customer convenient. Lots of choices on both! Chalkboard for rotating drafts which is colorful. There are more than 20 tv's!! Our 1st visit here to this long term sports bar. Love, love the decor (NC state fan) ! We had ribs that were very good. One friend had a salad with grilled chicken and she gave a thumbs up. Another friend ordered refried beans as a side and it literally looked like a soup, awful. We all had to just stick a fork in it to see how it tasted, not terrible, but NO! I'm not the person that leaves reviews very often, so this review is a first. Firstly, food is bar food as expected. Mediocre at best, medium to small size, and overpriced. Lots of tap options which is good and beer is priced about what you would expect. What I didn't expect was a 18% gratuity for it simply being trivia night. I've been to other bars that do trivia nights. They don't do this. This is not normal, nor should it ever be. Also, even with the microphone, I had difficulty hearing the trivia moderator. Waitress was nice, but they need to do a better job of telling folks about the gratuity for trivia nights. I don't plan on going there again. read more

I come here about once or twice a week. I always sit at the bar never a table. Not a table person. Jazz and another bartender are my favorite! I can never remember the other ones name but she has extremely long hair and very thin. I always get the wings or the quesadilla Last time I went the quesadilla was not cooked at all but I hadn't eaten allll day so I at it anyway. Definitely not a date atmosphere lol but the date I had Saturday night it would have went well no matter where we went. Anyway I highly recommend the wings! And beer prices are spectacular I can get a good buzz for like 25$ tip not included. :) read more

This place is a hit or a miss. I typically go in on trivia nights. The place is packed! I think they might need to get a few more staff in on nights like trivia night to help out and take some stress off the servers. I've had it where the food came out quick and I've had it take over an hour for food to come out. Trivia is fun. The gentleman who runs it is absolutely wonderful. They hit it out of the park bringing him in to run trivia. The food is good. It's bar food so it's not amazing but it's not bad. I definitely like their sweet hot boneless wings. I ordered delivery from Sammy's using Doordash 3 times in the past 2 or 3 weeks. Please note, I have only tried the wings so far because I am a huge fan of wings. And their wings are quite tasty. So tasty, 2 of the orders were on back to back days. My top flavors from here are honey bbq and lemon pepper. And I also like the fact that on Doordash, you can customize the wings... maybe you want them extra crispy or you want more/less sauce on your wing. The icing on the cake was that all 3 of my Doordash orders came quickly in about 30-35 minutes. What a gorgeous February afternoon with the deck open for dining (and smoking). Our waitress was friendly and efficient. My Asian grilled chicken salad was nothing fancy but a good size and fresh. Despite a crowd of Wolfpack fans, the service was fast and my iced tea was kept full. Lots of TV with everything sports showing on the multiple screens located inside. Also lots of meal specials, wings are their specialty, but pizza, burgers and salads are on the menu--basic bar fare. This place is walking distance from NCSU sports venues, so skip the long lines to exit Reynolds parking garage and walk .6 mile to have a cold beer before the others are out of the garage! Sammys Tap & Grill is one of many bars/ restaurants that are offering dine in services during this time of COVID. I decided to invite a friend here and we try this place for the first time together. There is great parking available as well as outside and inside dining depending on your mood. Apparently, on Wednesdays there is Karaoke night which can get pretty live and fun from what we experienced our first time here. It's a "seat yourself" establishment so you don't have to wait on anyone to find a good seat or the seat you want. After finding seats we didn't take long to figure out what we wanted. My friend had the 5 pc Chicken Finger Meal w/ fries ($8) and I had the 10 pc Wings w/ Sammy Sauce ($12) and the Bacon Cheeseburger Well Done (1/2 lb) w/ fries ($11.50). The place was pretty packed, so for the food to come out as fast as it did I was very impressed and satisfied. Everything was hot and fresh but I did realize that with my burger there was no mayo, ketchup or mustard on it so I had to request that (No biggie). After finally adding the condiments to my sandwich and taking a bite, I was quite satisfied (Again). The burger was pretty good and the wings with the Sammy Sauce were amazing. Although I thought the sauce would be more spicy, I have no complaints with the taste. The combination of games being shown, good food and Karaoke, we picked a good night to dine in at Sammys and I'm sure I'll be back. Not what it was back in the day! I have moved back to town and this was my place! Disappointed in the food and service. The vibe is different. I have been in 5 times since I have been back and just disappointed every time. Management needs to change. Bring back servers that want to be there! Our server was apparently watching her lunch while waiting on us and often got caught up in her convo with co workers instead of checking on us. We came here after a concert last weekend. We chose them because they were supposedly open late. The website says they close at 2am on Sundays. They actually close at midnight. The gentleman working was very nice. He said that they'd requested the hours to be changed on Yelp and Google.
