This felt like the perfect spot to watch a World Cup game and it would have been but the weather made the outside seating a little uncomfortable. I could definitely see investing in some patio blinds as a huge opportunity! Food and service were amazing. I saw over and over that I had to get the pretzel and it did not disappoint. It was slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the side, it also comes with a side of queso and spicy mustard. The bang bang shrimp was solid and the wings, oh man, delicious! I ordered the sweet bourbon dry rub, the waitress said some people have complained about it being too salt but I love a salty treat! So the salt, smoke and sweetness all worked really nicely together. The had some drink specials for the holiday, I got the Spirit of 1776, the watermelon puree and guava syrup sounded like a good summer drink. They do allow substitutions so I swapped the vodka for tequila. Would definitely recommend! If there are major games, anticipate getting their early or standing. read more

I'm sorry to leave a negative review because I genuinely love this place. The owner I've met is very sweet, the food is great, and most of the staff have always been kind. However, there is one female employee with dreadlocks who has consistently been rude during my visits. This has happened at least five times, possibly more, and every uncomfortable experience I've had here has involved this same employee. The first time was an issue with a small pizza order. I spoke with the manager, who refunded me because the order was incorrect. I also mentioned how rude the employee had been, but the behavior never seemed to improve or maybe he didn't even care to say anything to her. Since then, I've had several other negative interactions with her. One time I was with my husband who also is too nice to be rude back and another time I had a guest visiting. I had recommended the restaurant to this guest because I really enjoy the food. My guest placed a to-go order and came back upset because she had experienced the same rude treatment from this female employee. It was embarrassing after speaking so highly of the place and unfortunately haven't recommended it since. My family and friends used to visit with us at least three times a week, we have had really really high tabs especially alcohol tabs and we do not get a discount on alcohol but over the last two to three months we've started going much less often simply to avoid these unpleasant interactions. Today was another example. When I was checking out, I mentioned to her that I live upstairs and believed I receive a resident discount. She looked at me, charged my card anyway, walked away, and handed the receipt to another employee for me to sign. I mentioned the discount again to him, and he kindly tried to help. When she came back, she asked, "What was that?" as if I hadn't already mentioned it. She responded that she didn't know rudely, despite having seen me there many times before. The other employee was extremely polite and was about to refund the discount amount. I told him not to worry about it since it was only a little over a dollar. I then asked how much a soda cost, and he generously gave it to me at no charge. I truly did not want to leave this review because I enjoy supporting this business. However, repeated rude interactions with the same employee have made me and others feel uncomfortable. I hope this feedback is taken seriously because the food, the owner, and the rest of the staff have always been great. read more

It was my first time here last Saturday I came to watch a soccer game, I was unfortunately really disappointed in the service. When we came in and sat ourselves as it's self seating, we waited around 15 minutes no one acknowledged us or said anything didn't clean the table not even a "we'll be with you when we can", I can see that another server helped a larger party that had arrived after us (party of 2) which was upsetting, I had to go to the bar to ask for help, the server that was cleaning at the bar was very sweet and apologized and took our order, then I asked another server to clean the table that they didn't clean very well, and then my drink glass had lipstick stains and it was just really disappointing because I had been looking forward to coming here for a while. I understand things get busy but I don't think it was an excuse for the service we experienced. Will not be coming back. read more

Game watching meets great food and a wide variety of beer options on tap! I loved Brass Tap and the awesome smoked brisket tacos that I ordered with a fantastic apple cider. They are plenty of TVs for all, tuned to whatever tickles your game watchin' fancy. Service was attentive, friendly, and our orders came out fast. Came here on a Sunday afternoon to watch the football game. I must say I am so impressed that they were playing all of the games, and it was cute how they put the flag of each of the teams that was playing at the bottom of the TVs. To start we had the boom boom shrimp, which was delicious and one of the best I've had. For main courses, we got the pulled pork mac & cheese, and the tacos. Both were very flavorful and good portions ! Service was great. The food came out very quickly and the waitress kept checking in on us to making sure that everything was OK! The best place to catch international soccer matches, especially Liverpool and the premier league on weekend mornings. Be sure to get there early if you're coming for a weekend Liverpool match. The weekday champions league/cup matches get a much smaller crowd. I'm a fan of their boom boom shrimp/chicken tenders, and I see a lot of people order buffalo chicken wings or cauliflower. read more

Brass Tap is one of DTR's newest restaurants. My friend and I dined in for lunch at the bar and had a good experience. We both started off with a beer and were impressed with the selection. For food we split the hot honey pepperoni pizza and wing it wednesday special (8 wings with crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, celery and bleu cheese for $13). The day-licious lunch deals are available Monday to Thursday from open to 2PM. The menu is huge so I will have to return again soon. read more

I got the tap-out margarita which was $7 on Tuesdays , wasn't strong in my opinion a bit too sweet. Also got the wing basket that came with fries and a small side of coleslaw. New restaurant in downtown Raleigh we were eager to try. Visited with my husband, our two sons and their girlfriends. I'll start with the negatives -- it was SO loud considering it was only half full. I get that it's a place to watch sports but it was movie theater loud. We picked a round table for six hoping we could chat but we were still yelling and repeating ourselves. Second negative-- they were out of the pork macaroni and cheese bites that my husband and son really wanted to try. Now onto the positives. They have an extensive beer list with average prices and they will let you sample before you order if you are undecided. They bring carafes of water to the table so you don't need to keep asking for refills. They got one of our wing orders wrong but fixed it and let us keep the wrong ones. Crinkle fries were super crispy and yummy. I ordered a cauliflower pizza which was heavy on the sauce like I like it. One son and girlfriend split the chicken nachos which they said were delicious. Our table enjoyed the shrimp appetizer as well. The waitress and another server or manager who took care us were delightful -- friendly and helpful. read more

We tried out this new place. It wasn't that busy for a Saturday night but they had just opened so not sure word has gotten out. We decided to sit at the bar. There were 2 bartenders working the bar. The male bartender was very helpful & gave great suggestions on food. The menu had some interesting sandwich choices. They seemed short staffed so the male bartender left to go help the kitchen. The female bartender totally ignored us. I don't understand why because she didn't seem that busy and she was hanging out talking for a while to customers. We asked a waitress who came into the bar area if she could get us another round of drinks. She was wonderful and very helpful as was the rest of the staff. Although our food took a long time coming out, The entire staff was very apologetic. Everyone seemed really friendly EXCEPT this female bartender. They definitely need to work out the understaffed situation but we would like to come again. I wound recommend this place for a casual beer night if you are downtown. read more

I hope this helps. I went there last night (2/23). The place was not that full. I sat at the bar to get dinner. The bartender saw but never acknowledged my presence. Tons of dirty plates, glasses, and other items were stacked in the bar sink. The bartender kept having a conversation with two people at the bar for 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and then left. Based on other reviews, we were really excited to try this place on a Saturday night with some friends. We got there and it was pretty busy with most tables full so we expected a wait and slow service. We ended up ordering about 20 minutes after we got there and then it took a little over an hour for our food to come out. We had ordered appetizers that ended up coming out after the entrees and one of our friends didn't get his food until after we had all basically finished. It seemed they were definitely having an off day in the kitchen. Our waiter was very kind and apologetic and even comped the late food which we greatly appreciated. The pretzel was really good busy besides that the food was really nothing special. Our friend's tried some really good, unique beers like the blueberry cheesecake, though. They did have a lot of TVs so it was nice to at least watch the games while we waited. read more

Servers were running around like crazy and working hard but extremely understaffed. Such a cool vibe inside but don't plan on coming back due to the service 2/2 times being so extremely slow. Cool space! Unfortunately service was friendly but just bad. 1) Restaurant was not full (see below) but kitchen was so slow. We waited at least 45 minutes from order to food. And then 3 of the 4 came out 10 minutes before the 4th. 2) Also ordered an appetizer and strangely came out cold? The rest of the food was just ok, generic bar food. 3) Multiple tables were never bussed for the entire time we were there. Just glasses and dirty plates stacked up. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. The portions were great and the mac and cheese bites and korean bbq wings were our favorite. The brussel sprouts seemed to have the pickling taste of the pickled peppers atop and could use a balsamic glaze or a touch of salt. Street parking is easy.
